This research focused on Chuchunsa (Conversing while Swinging) which is a part of Chum, Chunhyang (The Scent of Spring), the masterpiece of the National Dance Company of Korea. In the process, the origin of Chuchunsa, Beckbeckhonghong of Chunhyang-ga and the poem of Jeongju Seo, Chuchunsa, both could analyze. Also, through the analyze, two masterpieces shared rhythm and have intertextuality. Beckbeckhonhong of Chunhyang-ga included rhythm likes swinging, so that is called as Chuchunmok. The rhythm of Seo’s poem, Chuchunsa, also has very slow rhythm in first, and fast in second, then very strong in third. The rhythm at last was very similar as the first, it is becaused that this part showed the swinging rhythm. Thus, Chuchunsa, the masterpiece of the National Dance Company of Korea, has those characteristics and shares rhythm and intertextuality in two workpieces.BR The result of consideration of the ending part of Chuchunsa is separated by costume, stage equipment, production, and movement. The white costumes are shared with Chunhyang and Mongryong, however, the Mongryong’s costume was changed to blue pants with gradation after Mongryong passed the state examination. Also, the costume of gisaeng dancers are fancy but their costumes are not in visual spot because the light focused on Mongryong and Chunhyang. Second is equipment and production. The equipments which are hold by gisaeng dancers are candle and lamp. Before producers prepare those equipment, they draw draft and modify because of accurate and realistics. Same as the equipment, the stage production also does pre-drawing for draft and then create actual stage.Lastly, the movement of dancers express the rhythm of Seo’s poem. At the beginning, the movement of dancers are slow and static but the movement of second part is faster than the beginning. On the third part, the movements are dynamic. The movement at last is slower than the third part such as first and the second part. The major scene in last part is that Chunhyang plays on the swings and Mongryong pushes Chunhyang. This scene express the love between two characters and travel to ideal world. This is the last scene of Chum, Chunhyang.BR In brief, It is not an correct method to analyze dance piece itself which is based on classical novel and emphasize to analyze the classical novel. The following researches could be improved by the simultaneous research. The research is required to find out the characteristics and intertextuality on the original texts and visual works.
