Summary Five cases of acrodermatitis enteropathica are presented. The skin about the mucocutaneous orifices is chiefly involved, along with loss of hair and nails. There is an associated gastrointestinal disturbance that somewhat resembles the celiac syndrome. The disease carries a high morbidity and mortality if not diagnosed and treated properly. During exacerbations growth ceases. Diodoquin has been found to completely control all manifestations of the disease This drug permits these children to be maintained in a reasonably good state of health unitl a permanent cure can be hoped for at puberty
