Problems of translation and multiple terminology in Arabic digital monetary studies

The investment of digital technologies and their multimedia in Western literary creativity has led to the emergence of a new type of writing known as digital writing, which is self-fulfilling based on digital intermediary algorithms and software, resulting in a revision of all the achievements of paper-based critical theory, especially concepts and terminology. By virtue of culture, digital writing has resonated with Arab criticism from the translation portal, where some Arab critics have been involved in the theorizing and translation campaign of theories established by early Western critics and digital. But their translations have produced major problems because of the nature of the Arabic monetary dictionary, which already suffers from the inherent problem of the term, This study is based on description and analysis. to conclude that the problem originated primarily from the idiomatic chaos that accompanied the first theoretical approaches of Arab critics, Each critic elected his own terminology, in addition to the complete absence of all forms of agreement and understanding between them on the philosophical and intellectual origins of new writing terms.

Integration of multiple terminology bases: a multi-view alignment method using the hierarchical structure.

In the medical field, multiple terminology bases coexist across different institutions and contexts, often resulting in the presence of redundant terms. The identification of overlapping terms among these bases holds significant potential for harmonizing multiple standards and establishing unified framework, which enhances user access to comprehensive and well-structured medical information. However, the majority of terminology bases exhibit differences not only in semantic aspects but also in the hierarchy of their classification systems. The conventional approaches that rely on neighborhood-based methods such as GCN may introduce errors due to the presence of different superordinate and subordinate terms. Therefore, it is imperative to explore novel methods to tackle this structural challenge. To address this heterogeneity issue, this paper proposes a multi-view alignment approach that incorporates the hierarchical structure of terminologies. We utilize BERT-based model to capture the recursive relationships among different levels of hierarchy and consider the interaction information of name, neighbors, and hierarchy between different terminologies. We test our method on mapping files of three medical open terminologies, and the experimental results demonstrate that our method outperforms baseline methods in terms of Hits@1 and Hits@10 metrics by 2%. A typology of English borrowings in Norwegian

English outweighs other languages as a source for linguistic borrowing in present-day Norwegian. The aim of this article is to propose a lucid typology of English borrowings in Norwegian that takes into account phraseological as well as structural borrowing—two borrowing dimensions that have received relatively little scholarly attention, and where multiple terminology is in use. The typology is based on a division between word-level, phraseological and structural borrowing on the one hand and a formal division between direct and indirect borrowing on the other. A second goal is to illustrate the typology with recently emerged loans that can provide an updated picture of the influence exerted by English on the Norwegian language.

HIVE: Helping interdisciplinary vocabulary engineering

AbstractEditor's SummaryHIVE (Helping Interdisciplinary Vocabulary Engineering) is an effort to automatically generate metadata for content, drawing descriptor terms from multiple vocabularies encoded as Simple Knowledge Organization Systems (SKOS). The effort is a response to the challenges of interoperability, cost and usability of multiple terminology sets often needed to adequately describe digital resources. By offering access to more than one vocabulary with useful descriptors for a broad domain, HIVE enables aggregating the best terms to describe resources and automatically apply metadata. HIVE offers knowledge management value for multidisciplinary digital collections while demonstrating the expanded potential use of SKOS. The initiative is headed by the Metadata Research Center at the University of North Carolina's School of Information and Library Science working with several institutional partners. Conferences and workshops are scheduled to inform interested developers and users, who are invited to try out, contribute to and evaluate the system.

Since the discovery of blood groups in humans, several hundred new red blood cell antigens have been identified. Multiple terminology modes have been used to denote each new antigen identified, but without any consistent rules, nor international consensus. This was largely due to the many discoverers of these antigens, using either letters of the alphabet, numbers, part of the patient or donor's name, place of discovery or animal names. Besides, alternative terminologies for the Rh system were implemented in the middle of the twentieth century (Rosenfield, Fisher-Race, Wiener). The International Society of Blood Transfusion described for the first time in 1980 the advantages of an alphanumeric and homogeneous nomenclature, keeping with the genetic bases of blood groups, as well as a classification of all RBC antigens within several families. A variant of this new terminology, exclusively numerical, was simultaneously established, mainly designed for computer data exchange. Nearly 30 years later, 308 red blood cell antigens are described within 30 systems, 12 collections, one 700 series and one 901 series of blood groups. Any person involved in the field of immuno-haematology must master both the usual and international nomenclatures. The Wiener nomenclature used for Rh haplotypes, still largely used today, is also important to be known. The systematic use of the international nomenclature should be strongly encouraged, either in the labelling of blood products, clinical laboratory reports or blood type cards.

Bone and joint diseases in workers exposed to hyperbaric conditions.

It is important that the results of bone and joint damage caused by a hyperbaric environment are accurately defined. Multiple terminology has been applied — avascular, aseptic or ischaemic necrosis, arthritis deformans, as well as the original 19th Century name of Caisson Disease. However, the most descriptive term applied by Beckman and Elliott in 1974 is that of dysbaric osteonecrosis. Devaluation of 'dedolomitization'

Recent literature (Evamy, 1967 and de Groot, 1967) has perpetuated the use of the term dedolomitization. The use of this term (1) requires multiple terminology for a single replacement process, (2) is inconsistent with nomenclature for other replacement processes, (3) is ambiguous, and (4) is geochemically misleading. The authors feel that a replacement process should be named by the replacing mineral, not the one being replaced.
