Inheritance And Innovation of Lingnan Intangible Cultural Heritage: Application Exploration of Information Visualization

This paper explores the current situation, challenges, and strategies for the digital inheritance and innovation of Lingnan intangible cultural heritage, focusing on the integration of woodblock new year painting elements. It introduces the rich cultural resources of Lingnan and highlights the difficulties faced in their preservation. The paper emphasizes the necessity of digital inheritance and the significant role of digital means in protecting and disseminating intangible cultural heritage, particularly through the application of information visualization technology. It details methods such as multimedia display, interactive experience, and data visualization, illustrating their practical effectiveness through case studies involving Cantonese opera, Guangcai porcelain, and notably, the integration of woodblock new year paintings. Endless Visions, Virtual Desires, and Broadcasted Emotions. Frederick Kiesler’s Architectures of Immersion

The article aims to investigate the salient features of Frederick Kiesler oeuvre – the theatrical mise-en-scene as a multimedia display, the dramatization of the space of consumption and the space of the art exhibition for immersive purposes, cinema understood as a totalizing and spiritual experience, and the intuition of a virtualized, individual and domestic experience of the artwork – through the analysis of a selection of his projects, in light of the most recent categories proposed for the investigation of immersivity. The purpose of this study is to place Kiesler’s work in a mediaarchaeological perspective that takes into account the constant and fruitful asynchrony with the media present in which his work is historically situated.

Multimedia display of wushu intangible cultural heritage based on interactive system and artificial intelligence

With the rapid development of the information age, various forms of digitalization have facilitated people’s various lives, but digitalization has also brought crisis to people. The most obvious is that in the digital era, the original living environment of intangible cultural heritage of martial arts and its traditional development and protection mode have become less and less compatible with the digital era. Therefore, its development is currently facing difficulties, even endangered problems. Based on this phenomenon, this paper combines artificial intelligence technology and interactive system to establish an intelligent multimedia display interactive system for intangible cultural heritage of martial arts. In this system, the martial artist's moving image can be captured by the action image acquisition device, and the collected image sequence can be calculated and analyzed. The system host “remembers” the martial artist’s action. The main functions of the system, such as random flow, click and zoom, multi-point movement and printing, are all in the charge of the picture control module; Video playback, full screen display and ring button control functions are mainly completed by the video control module. The experimental results show that the task time of using interactive system to locate visual objects with massive information in icon materials is significantly faster than that of using no interactive highlighting system. Therefore, we can preliminarily determine that the interactive system can improve the performance of target positioning in massive information. In this paper, the interactive system and artificial intelligence technology are applied to the intangible cultural heritage of martial arts, which has played a role in promoting its development.

Evaluation of Realistic Sensation Using Biological Reaction Measurements for Food Videos Presented by KMMD.

We have prototyped a KANSEI multimedia display (KMMD) that is able to release scent through the screen in order to realize collaboration between images and scents. Two types of “sukiyaki” food videos were presented to subjects using this device, and a method for objectively evaluating the realistic sensation of the food videos was examined using biological reaction measurements. The sukiyaki scent was added to one type of video to improve appetite. Viewers’ saliva flow rate, line of sight, pupil diameter, autonomic nerve activity, and cerebral blood flow were measured at the same time, and changes in these measured values were analyzed. As a result, the scent was effective in improving the sensation, as if the food was present in front of the eyes and increasing the saliva flow rate. Additionally, in a realistic scene, it was found that the line of sight follows the performer’s eating behavior as if the viewers themselves are eating. The sympathetic nervous system temporarily increases, mydriasis occurs, and the frontal lobe is activated. Furthermore, the possibility of objective evaluation of realistic sensations was demonstrated by the correlation between appetite, accompanied by salivary sensation, and the biological reaction measurement results.

HOW TO CREATE DIGITAL VISITOR EXPERIENCE? RESEARCH AND TESTING AS THE GROUNDS FOR DESIGNING MUSEUM’S DIGITAL PRODUCTS

An overview of literature on and state of knowledge of the application of user-centred design methodologies are discussed. Based on the experience with creating digital products and multi-media exhibitions, the Author claims that the role of users/visitor experience testing in the process of designing and implementing technological projects is of key importance. Using the example of the work on the new version of the multimedia display titled ‘Experiencing Chopin’ (2020) at Warsaw’s Fryderyk Chopin Museum, the paper discusses means of adaptation of the most popular research and evaluation techniques in usercentred testing in the museum context.

Research on Suzhou Prints Display Based on VR Technology

As an important part of the history of art development in the world, print art occupies a vital position in the development of human society. Chinese print reached its peak in the Ming Dynasty and continued to flourish in the Qing Dynasty, when Suzhou print was formed. Suzhou print is a unique form of folk culture in Suzhou area, with extremely important historical, artistic and cultural values. However, for a long time, most of the historical and cultural values of Suzhou prints have not been fully valued and understood. In recent years, with the development of network and multimedia technology and the continuous maturity and popularization of VR technology, it has been gradually applied to the multimedia display of information. In this paper, the exhibition of Suzhou prints under VR technology will be taken as the main research direction, and the collision and integration between traditional art forms and new technologies will be explored.

Application of Sports Multimedia Network Platform under the Background of Internet +

With the development of information technology, multimedia technology has been widely used in various disciplines, and has achieved very good results in actual teaching, effectively improving the quality of teaching. The application of multimedia teaching in college physical education is a typical example. Teachers can present the demonstration and imitation of physical education by means of multimedia display, which can effectively improve the efficiency and enthusiasm of students in learning. Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Virtual Environments: Demonstrations of Current Technologies and Future Directions

Virtual environments and immersive technologies are growing in popularity for human factors purposes. Whether it is training in a low-risk environment or using simulated environments for testing future automated vehicles, virtual environments show promise for the future of our field. The purpose of this session is to have current human factors practitioners and researchers demonstrate their immersive technologies. This is the eighth iteration of the “Me and My VE” interactive session. Presenters in this session will provide a brief introduction of their virtual reality, augmented reality, or virtual environment work before engaging with attendees in an interactive demonstration period. During this period, the presenters will each have a multimedia display of their immersive technology as well as discuss their work and development efforts. The selected demonstrations cover issues of designing immersive interfaces, military and medical training, and using simulation to better understand complex tasks. This includes a mix of government, industry, and academic-based work. Attendees will be virtually immersed in the technologies and research presented allowing for interaction with the work being done in this field.

It's geology time: Redesigning the Lapworth Museum of Geology

Abstract In 2014, the Lapworth Museum of Geology in Birmingham (United Kingdom) successfully undertook a £2.5 million redesign to restore its heritage, and to adapt its specialist-focused displays for public visitors. This essay unearths the museum's past to argue that previous displays, which required the pedagogy of geological professors to illuminate the objects for the museum's specialist visitors, are replaced by a multimedia display strategy which embeds the history of the museum's geologists within the exhibit narrative, bridging the gap between specialist and public knowledge, transforming the Lapworth into a 'museum at a university' rather than a 'university museum'.

Measuring visitor learning outcomes from showcases, video installations, and interactive tablets: an empirical investigation

ABSTRACT Museums employ a diverse range of display models. The most common forms are ‘showcases’ and ‘multimedia displays’, which include video installations and the use of interactive tablets. This poses the question of how the learning outcomes differ between showcase and multimedia displays. Focusing on 308 adult visitors across four typologies, this research explores how the learning outcomes differ when similar information is displayed using showcase and multimedia (video installation and interactive tablet) approaches in two exhibitions. Participants were randomly divided into three groups: namely, the showcase, video, and interactive groups. Interviews, questionnaires, and follow-up interviews were conducted to determine the learning outcomes. Results show statistically different learning outcomes between showcase and video installation, but no significant difference between showcase and interactive tablets. Moreover, results confirm a correlation between visitor gender and learning outcome, as well as visitor gender and typologies, but no evident correlation between learning outcomes and visitor typologies. Besides, this study explores the interaction impact on learning outcomes of 120 visitors who watched both showcase and multimedia and results show a correlation between visitors’ learning outcomes and different display models (showcase, multimedia and double-channel display).

OpenCV 라이브러리 기반 FSK OCC 시스템의 성능 측정

With the development of semiconductor especially, nano technology, image processing is playing an important role in the multimedia display industry. It is also one of the most considered research topic which has been combined with the industrial production quickly with the on-chip integration. As an important step in optical camera communication (OCC) operation, image processing makes decision for the reliable system. There are some open-source computer vision libraries for image processing applications. One of the earliest libraries to be considered by many researchers is OpenCV. In this paper, we will propose a new OCC system based on frequency shift OOK modulation and evaluate the performance of proposed system based OpenCV library for a real time application on android smartphone scenario. From the measurement on consumption time, accuracy for every phase, we make a comparison with other implements to prove the efficiency of OpenCV library.

The Digital Electronic Media Methods in Communication with the Public: BBC Website as a Model

The study aimed to explain most of the digital electronic media methods in communication with the public on the BBC Arabic website. To achieve the objectives of the research, the qualitative descriptive method was used by content analysis and observation. The results of the research found that the design of the BBC Arabic site is easy to use because of the logic of organizing the content. There is easy access to information and news on the site. The Multimedia is one of the most important additions to the website, especially the news sites. The most important multimedia used in news sites is the process of integrating text, graphics, sound, image, links, and tools that allow the user to interact and communicate. Moreover, the BBC website contains a diversifying the content by providing multimedia that includes text, still images, video, audio, descriptive features of all images, audio and video clips. As well as, the BBC Arabic site features a distinctive style in its multimedia display by using playable files with more than one player such as Real Player, Player or Windows Media. Also, the news sites are interested in providing a variety of information materials: texts, audio clips, videos, photo albums and more. In addition to several copies of their sites in languages other than Arabic. Finally, the interactive services on the BBC News website help attract users and build a trust-based relationship between the site and its audience. PENGEMBANGAN MULTIMEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS COGNITIVE LOAD THEORY (CLT) PADA MATERI VOLUME KUBUS DAN BALOK DI SEKOLAH DASAR

This research aims to describe the development of interactive learning multimedia based on cognitive load theory (CLT) in the fifth grade of elementary school. This type of research is research and development (R & D). The methods of collecting the data in this research were questionnaires, and interviews. This questionnaire is used to determine the response of students after using interactive multimedia based on CLT. Meanwhile this interview was conducted to find out the responses, comments, and suggestions of teachers and students after using interactive multimedia based on CLT. The validity of the results of the validation data analysis from this material expert was 87.50% and the validity of the validation data from this media expert was 85.71%. It shows that the material in CLT-based learning multimedia is valid and ready to be implemented. And the average questionnaire score at SDN 3 Taman was 88.27%, so the results of the questionnaire were declared good. The advantages of this CLT-based interactive learning multimedia are this multimedia display is very interesting, the material is presented more interesting, and the menus that are presented are easy to understand.

Psychological effects of cool sensations generated by using image display, in which gas can be released through screen

AbstractIt has been suggested that the Kansei multimedia display (KMMD) is able to emit air flows and scents in addition to conventional audio‐visual information through the display. This display is characterized as follows: the display has slits and pits to emit air flows from a position close to projected pictures due to a system where the display is equipped in the back with an air blower and an air flow direction controller. This study aimed to show the psychological effects of two content layouts for cool refreshment, which were produced based on the characteristics of this multimedia display. The possibilities for function and application of the KMMD were examined. An experiment of a virtual fan created as a three‐dimensional CG assessed the effects of cool refreshment and the feeling of presence induced by the air flows, which was connected to the swing movement of the fan and emitted from a position close to the image of the fan. Further, an experiment with seasonal images was conducted, providing aromas, which have been reported to affect an individual's sense of cold, when showing video scenes of a cold region. This experiment revealed cross modal physiological effects, such as the decline of the feeling of temperature and the temperature of the skin surface, which were induced subjectively and psychologically by the attribute of this scene.

Cognitive theories and paradigmatic research posts in the function of multimedia teaching and learning

At present it is almost impossible to imagine formal and non-formal education without the use of computers and information and communication technology (ICT), and we can rightly say that modern education is increasingly taking place in a multimedia environment and relying on multimedia teaching and learning. In fact, multimedia with its existence and progress continually poses new challenges to educational technology, but also to the teaching process itself. As a result, classical traditional learning and teaching leaves classrooms, while parallel to that, multimedia becomes an unavoidable segment in the process of acquiring knowledge. The multimedia display provides a better understanding and understanding of teaching content that can be presented in many ways, and which gives a higher educational value. The focus of work is the importance and contribution of the theory of multimedia learning with a focus on activating cognition among students, as well as an analysis of the effectiveness of the use of media in teaching. Also, a special emphasis in the work is focused on the analysis of qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques for examining the role, significance and efficiency of multimedia teaching and learning in the educational process.

The development of information technology and lead to intense competition in all areas, many parties began implementing a strategy to improve services. Information obtained from various sources such as the Internet can make it easier to determine the state o f a place or vehicle that will be addressed, but a lot of information from various sources, it only displays a static image that is not enough to describe the situation as a whole as well as the environment, it is necessary for the proper media fo r representing the information. One type of appropriate multimedia effective dam to provide information or a description of the location of these is to use virtual panoramic view. Not like a video that is merely one direction (forward grooved) virtual panoramic view is designed to allow the user to interact directly with the environment to crawl closer and more interactive. Final results from this aplication is a multimedia display that can be applied in any kind o f media because using ActionScript for basic program so that it can be applied via online websites or interactive CDs or display advertising.

Content-Based Instruction Approach In Instructional Multimedia For English Learning

Content-based Instruction (CBI) is an approach in English learning that integrates certain topic and English learning objectives. This approach focuses on using English competencies as a “bridge” to comprehend certain topic or theme in English. Nowadays, this approach can be used in instructional multimedia to support English learning by using computer. Instructional multimedia with computer system refers to the sequential or simultaneous use of variety of media formats in a given presentation of selfstudy program in a computer. Instructional media combines several aspects such as text, pictures, graphic, sound and video. There are many English materials that are presented in a computer display by combining all aspects of multimedia. This method can help learner to understand the material better by visualizing the concept. In integrating CBI approach in instructional multimedia by using computer, there are two important aspects in creating effective multimedia, such as displaying reading text and integrating all English skills. In displaying reading text, CBI approach play important role in presenting reading passages about certain topic based on students' interest and multimedia aspects also play significant role in visualizing all concepts and vocabularies from the reading passage. This paper will discuss the integration of CBI approach in instructional multimedia for English learning deeply by presenting the basic concept and providing some examples of instructional multimedia display.

Optical Design of Multimedia-Embedded LED Dental Astral Lighting using the Reverse Dual Reflector Method

A dental astral lamp is specially designed and simulated for securing the extra space for installing a multimedia display that will be helpful for treating young patients. The optical system using the reverse dual reflection method consisted of four illumination modules disposed at the four corners of the dental astral lamp, and each module comprises a high power LED, an elliptical mirror, and a multifacet reflector assembly using eight cylindrical mirrors. Variations V: “Escaping Stagnation” Through Movement of Signification

Variations V, a collaborative event by the Merce Cunningham Dance Company and composer John Cage, premiered on July 23,1965 at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts as part of the New York Philharmonic's French-American Festival. Following Edgard Varese's Hyperprism, Pierre Boulez's Improvisation sur Mallarme II, and Elliot Carter's Second String Quartet, Variations V contrasted greatly in composition and media with the pieces of the first half of the Philharmonic's program. Instead of orchestral instrumentalists performing live on their trumpets, cellos, and violins, recorded and radio sounds filled the concert hall through six speakers "distributed around Philharmonic Hall" (Hughes "Leaps" 1965:10); the choreographed movements of seven dancers occupied the stage; and filmed images projected on a screen behind them. The performance was an over­ whelming multimedia display, with no immediate connection between the various modes of artistic expression. This was not the case, however, as performances of Variations V in the 1960s depended on a complex interface for the production of simultaneity between visual and aural media, as woven by multiple voices of artistic authority. This interface may initially be traced to Cage and Cunningham, and their shared desire to create a performance in which movement on stage set sound into motion. However, multiple collaborators contributed their electronic designs to make performances of Variations V possible. To begin, a team of sound engineers created technology to mediate between motion and sound. The first piece of equipment was a fifty-channel mixer built by Max Mathews-an innovator in the field of computer and electronic music-one year prior to the French-American Festival in 1964, for Cage's New York Philharmonic premiere of Atlas Eclipticalis. Cage then called on a Swedish research scientist at Bell Labs, Wilhelm (Billy) Kluver, to construct a series of photocells. Whenever a dancer passed in front of a light source on stage and interfered with a cell's reception of that light, the interruption would trigger a change in sound. To add to this method of electronic sound activation were twelve high capacitance antennae constructed by Robert Moog, yet another innovator of electronic music; each one taken into consideration by Cunningham when he devised his choreographic design.
