Multi-attribute quantum group interference decision model considering minimum constraint and information entropy

About multi-attribute group decision making process, the opinions of different decisions will interfere with each other, or be affected by the decision-making environment, resulting in an unobserved interference effect, which is regarded as quantum entanglement in quantum theory. In this paper, an interference effect model based on minimum constraint and information entropy is proposed to measure the interference value in quantum decision models. Firstly, considering the interference effects of decision makers’ opinions, the evaluation opinions of decision makers are aggregated using Quantum-like Bayesian Network (QLBN), which are regarded as wave functions superimposed in the quantum model. Secondly, due to the uncertainty of decision process, information entropy and minimum constraint are combined to solve the interference effect. The minimum constraint is used to limit the range of interference values and the information entropy represents the uncertainty in the decision process. The grey relational degree represents the conditional probability of the decision maker about the alternatives. Thirdly, the weights of attributes and the probabilities of the alternatives are aggregated about decision makers by the proposed interference effect model, and then the alternatives are ranked by the aggregated probabilities. Subsequently, a numerical example is used to verify the validity and rationality of the model. Comparative analyses and sensitivity analyses are also implemented to demonstrate the stability and reliability of our method.

Application of Interval-valued T-spherical Fuzzy Dombi Hamy Mean Operators in the antiviral mask selection against COVID-19

This study introduces Interval-valued T-Spherical Fuzzy Dombi Hamy Mean (IVT-SPFDHM) Operators as a powerful tool for group decision-making. The IVT-SPFDHM operators allow for prioritization of fuzzy data effectively managing uncertainty. Its framework is applied in diverse group decision-making contexts, presenting its adaptability and robustness in addressing complex real-world problems. This study examines the Multi-Attribute Decision-Making (MADM) issue in IVT-SPFDHM environment where the qualifications and expertise are at varying levels of necessity. We regard the novel Aczel-Alsina aggregation operators (AOs) as the most recently created AOs, capable of handling considerable uncertainty. To propose some AOs we investigated the Hamy mean (HM) operator in following environment: Interval-valued T-Spherical Fuzzy weighted Dombi Hamy mean (IVT-SPWDHM) operator, stretch esteemed interval valued T-Spherical Dual Dombi Hamy Mean (IVT-SPFDDHM), and Interval-valued T-Spherical Fuzzy weighted Dual Dombi Hamy Mean (IVT-SPFWDDHM). The weights for prioritization are derived from the knowledge of experts, and the proposed operators can capture the phenomenon of prioritization among the aggregated arguments. The MADM models are then planned using the IVPWDHM and IVPWDDHM operators. Finally, we provided a sample example within the prioritized ones to select the best antiviral mask for fighting COVID.

A hybrid multi-attribute decision-making model for the systematic evaluation of exoticism-themed retail spaces from the perspective of consumer experience

Previous studies have provided abundant evidence confirming the significant impact of the physical environment in retail spaces themed with exoticism on brand establishment, consumer attraction, and stimulation of consumption behavior. However, there has been limited research employing systematic approaches to examine the influence of physical environmental elements on consumer experiences in Exoticism-themed retail spaces. Therefore, this study aims to propose a comprehensive and systematic evaluation framework from the perspective of consumer experience. It integrates the Caption Evaluation Method (CEM), Kano model, and Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) technique into a Multiple Attribute Decision Making (MADM) model. This study selects cases from China to demonstrate the superiority of the model. The research findings suggest that in the development and renovation process of integrating exoticism elements into retail environments, more attention should be paid to infrastructure such as street layout and facilities. Real plants, in particular, have the greatest primary influence on other elements. Theoretically, it offers a novel perspective on decision-making concerning the enhancement of the physical environment system in Exoticism-themed retail spaces. Practically, the analytical model developed in this study can provide decision-making insights and experiential references for similar themed retail spaces globally.

A novel multi-source TWD model based on multi-granularity ball for multiple decision makers

Three-way incomplete multi-attribute decision-making model (TWIMADM) for multiple decision makers is an important topic in data science, which is an effective tool for decision making. However, calculation results of neighborhood blocks are still affected by neighborhood radius. In addition, most of the existing models without considering the information from the evaluations of multiple decision makers separately is difficult to obtain a comprehensive assessment. To address these problems, this paper builds a novel multi-source TWD model based on multi-granularity ball. First, the well-established granular ball is extended to multi-granularity, by which a weighted conditional probability is generated to divide the concerned region into three parts: positive, negative and boundary region. The calculation of the multi-granularity ball is independence of the neighborhood radius parameter. Subsequently, the joint entropy is developed by using the defined multi-granularity to obtain the optimal decision. Furthermore, the relative utility function is utilized to capture the preferences of decision makers, the classification and ranking of each object are determined by calculating the threshold value and expected utility value. Evaluation information from all decision makers are combined and fused. Finally, a novel TWD model is developed to address the challenges of incomplete multi-attribute decision-making problems involving multiple decision makers. The comparative case analyses and experimental evaluations have demonstrated the stability, validity, and feasibility of our model.

Rethinking urban spatial resource allocation during public health emergencies: assessing comfortable quarantine environment in Guangzhou Hotels

ABSTRACT In response to public health emergencies, many regions have requisitioned daily travel hotels as temporary quarantine places. However, few previous studies examine this policy and reflect on the rationality of urban spatial resource allocation and utilization in terms of comfort during quarantine. This study uses a hybrid multi-attribute decision-making model, based on the collection of 438 pieces of evaluation data about the comfort of isolation hotels in Guangzhou, to build an evaluation framework for the comfort of the quarantine environment. Then, this study uses the ANP-V technique to complete the performance evaluation of selected cases and combines the epidemic spread data in Guangzhou to explore the rationality and improvement strategies of local government epidemic prevention resource allocation and utilization. Based on the results of this study, local decision-makers can optimize the allocation of future epidemic prevention resources and minimize the negative impact on personal health during the emergency period.

Project Investment Decision Under Uncertain Information

With the change of environment and market, the current investment project decision is facing a more complex environment, the competition of enterprises intensifies, the decision complexity increases, and the demand for scientific decision is increasing. The advantage of multi-attribute decision making in investment project decision is increasingly prominent. This paper studies the application of multi-attribute decision making under triangular fuzzy uncertainty information in investment decision making. Considering the decision makers' risk aversion and preference attitude in multi-stage decision making process, a dynamic reference point setting method based on stage development characteristics is proposed. Considering that the attribute value and attribute value will produce compensation in the decision-making process, the attribute value difference formula is constructed to reduce the decision-making bias, and on this basis, an improved TODIM method is proposed. The triangular fuzzy number uncertainty information is introduced to evaluate the attributes of each scheme in each decision stage, and the information is aggregated by the aggregation operator. Combining the dynamic multi-attribute decision model, the practical problem is solved. The practicability and feasibility of this method are demonstrated by the example analysis and method comparison.

Probability numbers for multi-attribute decision-making

In the face of increasingly complex data forms and decision-making problems, the uncertainty of information poses a major challenge to multi-attribute decision-making methods. How to effectively organize information and serve realistic decision-making problems has attracted extensive attention in the academic circles. In view of this, based on the distribution law of random variables, we put forward the basic concept of probability numbers and construct a general framework, including the concepts of type, order, item, isomorphism and isomerism, same domain and same distribution of probability numbers. On this basis, we further define the expectation and variance formula of probability numbers, and its operation rules are defined for the same type of probability numbers. To compare the dominance and inferiority of probability numbers further accurately, we put forward the concepts of dominance degree and comparability degree of probability numbers, so that decision makers can realize the ranking of probability numbers by calculating the comprehensive dominance degree. In view of the related concepts of probability numbers, we summarize the properties and theorems of probability numbers and prove them. In addition, a probability numbers-based multi-attribute decision-making framework model is proposed to solve the multi-attribute decision-making problem. Decision makers can select appropriate sub-models to construct personalized multi-attribute decision-making methods according to actual needs. At the end of the paper, we apply the method to the multi-attribute decision case of campus express stations evaluation and verify the scientificity and rationality of the evaluation method. The concept of probability numbers and its decision model proposed in this paper extend the concept category of numbers, enrich the multi-attribute decision-making method based on probability numbers, and have certain reference significance for further research of uncertain decision theory and method.

Ground collision avoidance system with multi-trajectory risk assessment and decision function

Abstract The traditional ground collision avoidance system (GCAS) makes avoidance decisions based on predicted collision time, without considering the impact of terrain environment and dynamic changes in load factor on avoidance decisions. This increases the risk of ground collisions for the aircraft. To solve the problem, a GCAS with multi-trajectory risk assessment and decision function is proposed. Firstly, a variety of predicted flight avoidance trajectories are established within the final manoeuvering capability of the aircraft. Secondly, for each predicted trajectory, the uncertain length between adjacent prediction points is used to construct a rectangular distance bin, and the terrain data below the avoided trajectory is extracted. Finally, the regret theory is used to establish a multi-attribute avoidance decision model to evaluate and prioritise the risk of collision avoidance trajectories, to provide effective collision avoidance decision for pilots. The algorithm is tested and verified with real digital elevation model and simulated flight data, and compared with traditional GCAS. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can comprehensively consider manoeuvering performance and threatening terrain, and provide safe and effective avoidance decisions for pilots.

Novel Aczel-Alsina operations-based probabilistic double hierarchy linguistic aggregation operators and their applications in Blockchain performance evaluation Blockchain

The development and application of blockchain provides technical support for supply chain technological innovation and industrial innovation. Integrating the decentralized, independent, open, traceable and tamper-proof features of the blockchain into the supply chain can effectively improve the problems of unstable supply chain structure, low security, low privacy, low collaboration ability and high operating costs. Establishing probabilistic double hierarchy linguistic multi-attribute decision-making (PDHL-MADM) model to evaluate the performance of blockchain is an effective measure to optimize blockchain performance and improve supply chain stability. Therefore, this thesis first takes the processing efficiency, cost, security performance, update and improvement ability as evaluation attributes. Then the IDOCRIW weight method is used to calculate the objective weight of attributes. Based on Aczel-Alsina t-norm (AATN) and Aczel-Alsina t-conorm (AATCN), four operations of probabilistic double hierarchy linguistic term set (PDHLTS) are defined, and PDHLAAWA operator, PDHLAAOWA operator, PDHLAAHA operator, PDHLAAHM operator, PDHLAAWHM operator and their dual operators are proposed, and a series of corresponding PDHL operator models are constructed. In addition, the sensitivity and stability of this series of operator models are analyzed in depth. Finally, the new model proposed in this thesis is compared with the existing model to verify its scientific and superiority.

Multi-Attribute Decision-Making for T-Spherical Fuzzy Information Utilizing Schweizer-Sklar Prioritized Aggregation Operators for Recycled Water

To handle problematic and ambiguous data, Schweizer and Sklar added a parameter p in 1960, which helped to develop the theory of SS t-norm (SSTN) and t-conorm (SSTCN). The parameter p=-1.1 can be used to easily derive the information of the Hamacher and Lukasiewicz t-norms. Furthermore, prioritized aggregation operators (PAOs) choose which data will be collected into a singleton set. The main contribution of this work is the construction of new aggregation operators for T-spherical fuzzy (T-SF) information based on SS t-norm and t-conorm. Moreover, the fundamental characteristics of the operators are identified. Further, we developed MADM (Multi-Attribute Decision-Making) models and deduced several useful properties from the operators T-SFSSPA, T-SFSSWPA, T-SFSSPG, and T-SFSSWPG. Finally, using an actual case study, we were able to draw the conclusion that, in comparison to the ground-breaking and current methods to enhance the value and capability of the diagnosed operators, the proposed MADM algorithm performs noticeably better than the operators in place for resolving the water recycling problem in a way that is easy to understand.

A similarity-based three-way multiattribute decision model under constrained Pythagorean fuzzy environment

A variety of fuzzy sets, especially Pythagorean fuzzy sets (PFSs), are commonly utilized to describe the ambiguity of information in three-way decision (3WD) models. PFSs can handle fuzzy information well but ignore the description of stochastic information. To address this issue, in this paper, we attempt to construct a novel three-way multiattribute decision model by combining 3WD with constrained Pythagorean fuzzy sets (CPFSs) which can measure the reliability of PFSs. Firstly, we introduce the concept of constrained Pythagorean fuzzy information systems (CPFISs). Comprehensive positive and negative similarities of objects are given in a CPFIS by introducing normalization, score function, comparison rules, and positive and negative ideal solutions. Secondly, by comprehensive positive and negative similarities, novel formulas for calculating comprehensive relative utility function values are obtained and an objective method for estimating conditional probabilities is presented in the absence of decision attributes. Based on the above knowledge, we establish a similarity-based three-way multiattribute decision model in a CPFIS. Furthermore, we conduct a case analysis of appendicitis to realize the application of our proposed model and several comparative analyses to demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our model. Finally, the good performance of the new model is verified through experimental analyses.

Assessment of the Educational Live Action in Uncertainty Environment under Single-Valued Neutrosophic Sets

Health professional educators are increasingly using escape rooms as a teaching tool. Given the fast development in their use, investigators have chosen varied assessment approaches to evaluate the instructional rooms. Considering educational escape rooms is a multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) process based on various criteria. This study proposed a MADM model to assess the educational escape rooms. This study used the VIKOR MADM method to evaluate the criteria and alternatives. This evaluation is made under a neutrosophic set to overcome the uncertainty information. We collected fourteen criteria and ten alternatives in this study. We employed a sensitivity analysis to show the proposed model's effectiveness and the results' stability. The analysis shows the results are stable.

Bilingual Teaching Environment Creation and Multi-Attribute Teaching Decisions

With the continuous advancement of globalization, bilingual teaching has become an important component of the educational field. However, existing research methods have certain shortcomings in creating a language environment conducive to bilingual teaching and making multi-attribute teaching decisions. To solve this problem, this study conducted detailed research in three aspects. First, bilingual teaching environment creation schemes and their attribute characteristics were discussed, aiming to establish a more comprehensive and systematic language environment model. Second, evaluation indexes for the schemes were selected and weighted, aiming to establish a scientific and reasonable evaluation system. Finally, the specific implementation steps of the multi-attribute teaching decision model were elaborated, providing a comprehensive decision framework. This study not only contributes to the theoretical development of bilingual teaching but also provides a valuable reference for educational practice.

Dynamic multi-attribute grey target group decision model based on quantum-like Bayesian networks

PurposeGrey target decision-making serves as a pivotal analytical tool for addressing dynamic multi-attribute group decision-making amidst uncertain information. However, the setting of bull's eye is frequently subjective, and each stage is considered independent of the others. Interference effects between each stage can easily influence one another. To address these challenges effectively, this paper employs quantum probability theory to construct quantum-like Bayesian networks, addressing interference effects in dynamic multi-attribute group decision-making.Design/methodology/approachFirstly, the bull's eye matrix of the scheme stage is derived based on the principle of group negotiation and maximum satisfaction deviation. Secondly, a nonlinear programming model for stage weight is constructed by using an improved Orness measure constraint to determine the stage weight. Finally, the quantum-like Bayesian network is constructed to explore the interference effect between stages. In this process, the decision of each stage is regarded as a wave function which occurs synchronously, with mutual interference impacting the aggregate result. Finally, the effectiveness and rationality of the model are verified through a public health emergency.FindingsThe research shows that there are interference effects between each stage. Both the dynamic grey target group decision model and the dynamic multi-attribute group decision model based on quantum-like Bayesian network proposed in this paper are scientific and effective. They enhance the flexibility and stability of actual decision-making and provide significant practical value.Originality/valueTo address issues like stage interference effects, subjective bull's eye settings and the absence of participative behavior in decision-making groups, this paper develops a grey target decision model grounded in group negotiation and maximum satisfaction deviation. Furthermore, by integrating the quantum-like Bayesian network model, this paper offers a novel perspective for addressing information fusion and subjective cognitive biases during decision-making.

Optimisation of Master’s Degree Programmes in Translation Based on Multi-Attribute Decision-Making Approach

Abstract In this paper, first of all, in the quality assessment of the teaching quality of the translation course, it is proposed to use a multi-attribute decision model to assess the quality of the set of alternatives for all the courses and to use the existing decision ideal points to rank and select the best of a set of optimized solutions for the translation course through the hesitant fuzzy number and objective optimization model. Finally, to explore the optimization problem of the curriculum, a research analysis was conducted on MTI master’s students who recently graduated from the institution. The results show that by optimizing the MTI course specifically, the students’ positive interest (p 1 = 0.03) and independent inquiry interest (p 2 = 0.01) are less than 0.05, showing significant differences (p<0.05). The special optimization scheme of the MTI course proposed in this paper can reflect some problems worth pondering in the curriculum and provide a guiding reference for optimizing the MTI course in schools.

Basic uncertainty information hesitant fuzzy multi-attribute decision-making method with credibility

This study addresses the inadequacy of the current quantitative calculation method for decision-maker credibility in hesitant fuzzy multi-attribute decision-making, where credibility is considered. To overcome this limitation, a novel quantitative calculation method for decision-maker credibility is proposed based on the principles of basic uncertainty information theory under a hesitant fuzzy environment. Furthermore, a credible-based hesitant fuzzy multi-attribute decision model is developed. Initially, the paper introduces the concept of a basic uncertainty hesitant fuzzy set by combining basic uncertainty information theory with hesitant fuzzy set theory, thereby enhancing the understanding of basic uncertainty information theory within the realm of non-interval fuzzy information. Building on this foundation, the method for determining the hesitant degree of each element in the basic uncertainty hesitant fuzzy set is provided, followed by the proposed quantitative calculation method for decision-maker’s credibility under the hesitant fuzzy environment, which addresses the lack of a quantitative approach for assessing expert credibility under such circumstances. Subsequently, an attribute weight assignment method is introduced, considering the decision-maker’s credibility, leading to the formulation of a basic uncertainty hesitant fuzzy multi-attribute decision model based on credibility. This model enhances existing hesitant fuzzy multi-attribute decision-making methods that take credibility into account. To validate the proposed approach, the study applies it to the selection of new energy vehicle battery suppliers. The results of the analysis using actual data and sensitivity analysis demonstrate that decision-maker credibility can be quantitatively determined using the proposed method. Additionally, the basic uncertainty hesitant fuzzy multi-attribute decision-making model based on credibility effectively aids in supplier selection. The feasibility and stability of this method are verified through the examination of risk appetite coefficient and hesitancy coefficient.

A novel cross-entropy framework for pattern design quality evaluation based on interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy multi-attribute decision making

Paper packaging is favored by manufacturers in various industries due to its advantages such as economy and environmental friendliness, and the application of paper packaging in various types of products is also becoming increasingly popular. However, with the growth of the national economy and the increasing purchasing power of the people, consumers not only have higher requirements for the functionality of products, but also have higher requirements for the visual effect of product packaging. Based on the potential consumption trend of “looking for things”, enterprises need to further strengthen the artistic design effect when using paper packaging, promoting the unity of practicality and aesthetics of paper packaging. Pattern design art, as a component of graphic design art, is mainly based on pattern modeling to convey artistic concepts and aesthetic temperament. Integrating pattern design art into the process of paper packaging design can effectively enhance the artistic value of paper packaging, thereby adding color to products. The pattern design quality evaluation is a classical multi-attribute decision making (MADM). In this paper, the MADM methodology is investigated based on cross-entropy (CE) method under interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFSs) for pattern design quality evaluation. First of all, this paper extends the CE method under the IVIFSs to propose the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy number cross-entropy (IVIFN-CE) method, it enlarges the application range of the CE method. Secondly, a new MADM model for pattern design quality evaluation based on IVIFN-CE algorithm is proposed. In this algorithm, attribute weight is calculated by CRITIC method which is a well-known objective method. At the end of this study, we noticed to a comparison between the proposed IVIFN-CE approach with other existing methods to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm.
