This study aimed to evaluate the potential of Gedangrejo, located in the Karangmojo district, Gunung Kidul regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, Indonesia, for agro-geohydropark development. Employing a comprehensive geological analysis, which included assessing geomorphological, lithological, and geological structures alongside hydrogeological conditions, the study also focused on the evaluation of water sources and agricultural potential. Gedangrejo, which falls within the Baturagung subzone of the Southern Mountains zone, presents a unique amalgamation of undulating plains, hills, karst hills, and alluvium deposits with formations belonging to Semilir, Oyo, and Wonosari. Geological structures constituted by joints and faults, including three horizontal faults with a Northeast-Southwest orientation, were noted. The hydrogeology uncovered two aquifer systems, with the Semilir fissured inter-grain aquifer controlling the Baturagung Embung. In terms of agricultural viability, the area exhibits fertile land capable of supporting ornamental and fruit plants, presenting potential for fruit-picking tourism. Therefore, findings suggest that the Gedangrejo region holds substantial potential for development as an agro-geohydropark, implying a sustainable economic upliftment of the local community through the prudent utilization of natural resources and local wisdom.
