The article contains a presentation of the concept and preliminary results of the new virtual project "Collectors of the Russian Ethnographic Museum", launched in 2021. Its purpose is to recreate individual portraits of scientists, correspondents and museum staff, personal and creative biographies of those who during the XIX — early XXI c., and were associated with the museum field. The fates of some of them are quite well known, others are little studied due to various circumstances. It's not just the famous specialists (ethnographers, linguists, folklorists, archaeologists, historians, etc.) and correspondents, but also representatives of different social circles, scientific and political views, levels of education, nationalities, confessions, ages, characters; with different motivation for ethnographic research and subjective approaches to their own collecting activities. Currently, according to the concept and well-thought-out scheme, materials about more than 130 people have been published, more than 30 museum employees participated in their creation. An exploration system to effectively analyze the visual metaphor used in sentiment visualization

In the field of data visualization, there has been a recent trend of using a complex type of visualization with a multidimensional structure or using several visualizations in parallel when summarizing the results of sentiment analysis. Although this trend may be useful for sophisticated sentiment analysis, such analysis is difficult for the general public and novice researchers. To address this issue, there has recently been a trend of visualizing sentiments using visual metaphors. To facilitate the understanding of related cases, it is necessary to have a systematic means of grasping the sentiment target, the purpose and motivation of research, and the representations used as substitutes for visual metaphors. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to develop an exploration system that can analyze the visual metaphors used in the case of sentiment visualization. For this study, (1) sentiment visualization cases in which visual metaphors are used were collected. (2) After a taxonomy composed of the categories of “target, intermediation, representation, visual variable, and visualization technique” was constructed, it was used to analyze sentences of visual metaphors appearing in sentiment visualization cases. (3) An exploration system capable of grasping the semantic relationships of sub-elements within the five categories of the taxonomy and intuitively interpreting visual metaphors was developed so that appropriate cases can be recommended to sentiment visualization researchers. (4) The approach and usefulness of the exploration system were explained using user scenarios. (5) A case study was conducted to show that the provided system can be analyzed from various perspectives. (6) The usability of the exploration system was demonstrated through a verification targeting experts. The proposed system allows researchers and analysts to intuitively grasp “what types of visual metaphor method and idea should be equipped to visualize sentiment data in an easier way to understand.”

Exploring Interleukin Levels in Type 1 Diabetes and Periodontitis: A Review with a Focus on Childhood.

Diabetes can trigger an increase in cytokine levels leading to the production of C-reactive protein and fibrinogen. These molecules promote subclinical inflammation, causing the expression of adhesive molecules and endothelial dysfunction. Despite the lack of a comprehensive panel for single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) for interleukins associated with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM), understanding the inflammatory role of SNPs is crucial because periodontitis, the sixth complication of diabetes, is influenced via these genetic variations. This review focuses on the interleukin levels in T1DM patients with and without periodontitis, with a particular focus on childhood and on SNPs when reported. A search of PubMed and Scopus identified 21 relevant studies from the past five years. Several ILs were analyzed, emphasizing that T1DM still needs to be thoroughly explored regarding an IL polymorphisms panel; however, the last five years have led to the increased independence of this condition, causing autonomous inflammatory effects, which require further investigation. The periodontitis and T1DM association in children and adolescents represents a severe gap in the literature that should be filled; this scarce presence of studies serves as motivation for further clinical research.

Nurturing the scientific mind: resilience and job satisfaction among Saudi faculty.

This study examines the interplay between psychological resilience, job satisfaction and research motivation among teachers at Saudi Arabian universities. Particular attention is paid to the relationship between satisfaction and academic performance and well-being. The data is based on a survey of 321 faculty members, and descriptive statistics and correlations are used. The research instruments included a self-developed scale to measure these constructs, and data analysis was conducted using SPSS software. The findings revealed moderate job satisfaction levels, with a significant correlation between resilience and both job satisfaction and research motivation. Resilience was identified as a key predictor of job satisfaction, especially among professors compared to lecturers. Uniquely focused on the Saudi academic context, this study offers insights into culturally specific factors affecting academic faculty, underscoring the importance of enhancing resilience and satisfaction within academic settings. These implications align with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals, suggesting targeted strategies to improve faculty well-being and performance.

Process Mining Organization (PMO) Based on Machine Learning Decision Making for Prevention of Chronic Diseases

This paper discusses a methodology to improve the prevention processes of chronic diseases such as diabetes and strokes. The research motivation is to find a new methodological approach to design advanced Diagnostic and Therapeutic Care Pathways (PDTAs) based on the prediction of chronic disease using telemedicine technologies and machine learning (ML) data processing techniques. The aim is to decrease health risk and avoid hospitalizations through prevention. The proposed method defines a Process Mining Organization (PMO) model, managing risks using a PDTA structured to prevent chronic risk. Specifically, the data analysis is focused on stroke risk. First, we applied and compared the Random Forest (RF) and Gradient Boosted Trees (GBT) supervised algorithms to predict stroke risk, and then, the Fuzzy c-Means unsupervised algorithm to cluster information on the predicted results. The application of the proposed approach is able to increase the efficiency of healthcare human resources and drastically decrease care costs.

Discoveries in Transforming Student Engagement through Full-Day School Learning Motivation Research

This study examines the learning motivation levels among high-grade students at SD Islam Sabilillah Sidoarjo, utilizing a descriptive quantitative research approach with a sample size of 217 out of a total population of 506 students. Data analysis via descriptive statistical tests revealed that 68% of students demonstrated a moderate level of learning motivation, while 19% exhibited a high level and 13% had a low level. These findings highlight the students' ability to sustain learning motivation during academic activities at school and offer insights for enhancing motivation strategies in full-day school settings, with implications for educational institutions and policymakers. Cross-linked polymer film on copper stubs as a reusable substrate enabling imaging and quantitative analyses of aluminosilicate particles

Access issues to potable waters around the planet is the motivation for research in desalination technologies. One class of materials that is a research focus for desalination membranes are zeolites that are comprised of silicon (Si), aluminum (Al), and oxygen, and have structures that include regular pores of varying sizes dependent on the type of zeolite. A motivation for this study was to enable characterization of non-conductive materials containing Si or Al (e.g., zeolites) using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) techniques. To avoid significant background signals directly overlapping with these samples, common sample supports and preparation protocols involving Al or Si were precluded. Cross-linked polymer coatings applied via spin coating onto polished copper (Cu) stubs are shown to be durable for reuse even with the use of aggressive cleaning techniques between samples. SEM and EDS analyses of Cu stubs were performed before and after applying the polymer coating, after drop-cast application of zeolite particles and after their subsequent removal by sonication-based techniques. The data from those trials confirmed there was no background signal from Si or Al and no cross-contamination between samples during these analyses, enabling quantitation of Al and Si in the samples.

Ideal L2 Pre-service Teacher Selves: The Case of University Pre-service Teachers in Costa Rica

The ‘L2 Motivational Self System’ (L2MSS) (Dörnyei & Ryan, 2015) sheds light on theoretical tenets for research in language learner motivation. The L2MSS has been adapted into the ‘Possible Language Teacher Self’ (PLTS) (Kubanyiova, 2009) to explore language teacher motivation. Nonetheless, there is scarce research on a self-system for L2 pre-service teachers. Therefore, in this qualitative study, the characteristics of the Ideal L2 Pre-Service Teacher Self were explored to identify a possible motivational self-system. In-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted and thematic analysis was implemented. Participants (N=2) were pre-service L2 teachers from a university in Costa Rica. Findings revealed that participants mentioned four common traits of an ideal L2 pre-service teacher self: (1) passion, (2) knowledge, (3) adaptability, and (4) language proficiency. Contrary to Kubanyiova’s (2009) PLTS and Dörnyei’s (2009b) and Dörnyei & Ryan’s (2015) L2MSS, both participants share an ‘L2 Pre-service Teacher Self System’ including four elements: (1) Ideal L2 Pre-service Teacher Self, (2) ought-to L2 Pre-service Teacher Self, (3) current L2 Pre-service Teacher Self, and (4) Feared L2 Teacher Self. It is discussed and concluded that a PLTS system might include the elements just mentioned. However, further exploration on an L2 Pre-Service Teacher Self is mandatory to better understand the motivation and self-identity of L2 pre-service teachers.

EFL students’ motivational currents during Extensive Reading Programs: A retrodictive qualitative modelling

Motivation to read, the driving force to achieve one’s reading goals, plays a significant role in language learning as it relates to reading engagement and achievement. Its presence is prominently necessary for a longer learning period. This article explores the features of nine pre-service students’ motivational currents and how their motivation changes throughout the task performance in Extensive Reading Programs (henceforth ERPs). Data were collected from diaries, and a retrodictive qualitative model was applied to recount the experiences of the student participants’ motivational currents following Dörnyei’s Directed Motivational Currents (DMC). Themes of diaries and interviews were generated following the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. The findings show that the features of DMC are salient and functioning throughout the student’s learning experiences and facilitate the construction of their future identity as readers. Four patterns of motivational currents during the students’ learning were a steady wave, slight wave, moderate wave, and great wave patterns. The variability and stability of task performance motivation indicate that students’ motivational trajectories are unique, conditional, and context-bound. Identifications of the sources of motivators and demotivators provide hints for designing more engaging classroom activities, enriching the task features, and sustaining students’ motivation. This study concludes with possible directions for future motivation research.

Advantages And Applications of Neural Hardware Based on Synapse Structure

The increasing demand of computing power serves as a motivation for researchers to develop new types of hardware structures, among which the brain-inspired chip hardware show higher potential on computing power and energy consumption over traditional types. Memristors, which serve as a representative example of them, can allows a certain amount of current to pass safely and "remembers" the previous resistance value of the device after a power failure, which can be used as a perfect similar unit of neurons. Memristor can be manufactured by multiple material, such as various kind of metal oxides and have different of structure, classified by the number of memristors in each structure. However, the synaptic structure also faces great challenge to overcome, such as the uniformity of the capacity of each synaptic unit. In conclusion, memristor-based synapses for computing neural morphology have great potential for multiple applications, which can be perfect apply to the artificial intelligence industry.

A multi-objective approach for optimal target coverage UAV placement: hybrid heuristic formulation

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) are utilised in several security operations. However, the major limitation in utilising the UAV for security purpose is its efficiency in monitoring the targets. In real-time applications, the flight range and number of UAVs utilised are insufficient for surveillance of the entire targets. UAVs are operated similarly for the flying base stations to improve the coverage rate. Utilisation of UAVs in target detection offers various benefits owing to their higher chance of ‘line-of-sight’ and monitoring at a higher altitude. The research motive of this paper is to maximise the network coverage by accurately placing UAVs under the condition of maintaining enhanced Quality of Service (QoS). This work intends to implement a Hybridized Colliding Bodies Galactic Swarm Optimization (HCBGSO) for resolving the problem of optimal placement of UAVs. The experimental outcomes demonstrate that the suggested algorithm gives better coverage, ensuring the effectiveness of the new hybrid optimisation.

The Development and Implementation of the Digital CNY

With the growing development of digital economic and network industry, digital RMB will become an important element of digital finance in China's digital economy. This paper analyses the design features, research and development motivation and other principles of digital RMB over the years, compiles the development process and operation mechanism, and discusses the future tendency of digital RMB to give some development suggestions. Firstly, the digital RMB needs to speed up the legislative process to avoid the frequent occurrence of crimes. Secondly, as a member of the leading development team, digital RMB can be considered to be promoted to the international market to facilitate cross-border transactions and international communications. Finally, the digital RMB is currently being piloted in a single scene and needs to be transformed into a wholesale digital currency in order to be more likely to avoid international risks and participate in international competition.

Bioactive self-assembling silk fibroin–sericin films for skin tissue engineering

The quest for an ideal wound dressing material has been a strong motivation for researchers to explore novel biomaterials for this purpose. Such explorations have led to the extensive use of silk fibroin (SF) as a suitable polymer for several applications over the years. Unfortunately, another major silk protein—sericin has not received its due attention yet in spite of having favorable biological properties. In this study, we report an approach of blending SF and silk sericin (SS) without the usage of chemical crosslinkers is made possible by the usage of formic acid which evaporates to induce β-sheets formation to form cytocompatible films. Raman spectroscopy confirms the presence of SF/SS components in blend and formation of β-sheet in films. In situ, gelation kinetics studies were conducted to understand the change in gelation properties with addition of sericin into SF. Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium and live/dead assays were performed to study cellular attachment, viability and proliferation on SF/SS films. The antibacterial properties of SF/SS films were tested using Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. The re-structured SF/SS films were stable, transparent, show good mechanical properties, antibacterial activity and cytocompatibility, therefore can serve as suitable biomaterial candidates for skin regeneration applications.

Pengaruh Perceived Value Terhadap Revisit Intention Di Daya Tarik Wisata Linggai Park Maninjau Kabupeten Agam

This research motivation is the decrease in revisit intention at Linggai Park Maninjau tourism attraction, which is evidenced by visitor complaints expressed with social media. The research purposess is to reveal the perceived value influence on revisit intention at Linggai Park Maninjau tourism attraction in Agam Regency. The method for research used included approach quantitative with a causal associative. The population consists of visitors who visit Linggai Park Maninjau, and the average visitors number from July to December 2022 is 3,095 visitors. Therefore, a sample of 226 respondents was determined. Data was collected from a questionnaire where validity and reliability has been tested. Simple linear regression and coefficient of determination were used to test the research hypothesis with the assistance of SPSS version 25.00. The results obtained a value of F at 586.521 with a level of significance is 0.000 < 0.05, indicated that accept for Ha and reject for H0, and there is a significant influence from perceived score and revisit intention. Furthermore, the coefficient of regression perceived value is 0.828 with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that every one unit increase in perceived value will increase revisit intention by 0.828 units. The value of R square is 0.724 indicates that perceived value has an influence on revisit intention with a percentage of 72.4%, while the remaining 27.6% is influenced by other factors.

FIVE DECADES OF ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION RESEARCH IN ELT: A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW

Purpose – There is an absence of systematic review papers in the achievement motivation theories literature. In terms of currentresearch trends, English learning motivation is gaining attention as a determiner of success in FLA. Hence, this review aims to trace thetrends in the empirical studies on achievement motivation theories and tools, ranging from 1970 to 2022. Methodology – With a focus on theories, diversity of research participants, and practical ELT-related issues addressed by previousresearchers, this paper applied the PRISMA Systematic Review Protocol to offer a comprehensive synthesis of 91 empirical studieson theories of achievement motivation. Findings – The majority of the published studies were from China and Iran. There was also a large number of studies conducted on tertiary-level learners. Structural equation modelling was found to be the most widely used analysis. In addition, technology-assisted learning is the current trend in achievement motivation research. Significance – This paper offers new insights into the existing achievement motivation literature and identifies the research gaps.This study recommends more studies on expectancy-value theory including in-depth qualitative studies involving culturally diversepopulations and experimental research to develop more effective pedagogical approaches and expand the current understanding ofachievement motivation.

Bioconvective flow of Maxwell nanoparticles with variable thermal conductivity and convective boundary conditions

Owing to recent development in the thermal sciences, scientists are focusing towards the wide applications of nanofluids in industrial systems, engineering processes, medical sciences, enhancing the transport sources, energy production etc. In various available studies on nanomaterials, the thermal significance of nanoparticles has been presented in view of constant thermal conductivity and fluid viscosity. However, exponents verify that in many industrial and engineering process, the fluid viscosity and thermal conductivity cannot be treated as a constant. The motivation of current research is to investigates the improved thermal aspects of magnetized Maxwell nanofluid attaining the variable viscosity and thermal conductivity. The nanofluid referred to the suspension of microorganisms to ensure the stability. The insight of heat transfer is predicted under the assumptions of radiated phenomenon. Additionally, the variable thermal conductivity assumptions are encountered to examine the transport phenomenon. Whole investigation is supported with key contribution of convective-Nield boundary conditions. In order to evaluating the numerical computations of problem, a famous shooting technique is utilized. After ensuring the validity of solution, physical assessment of problem is focused. It is claimed that velocity profile boosted due to variable viscosity parameter. A reduction in temperature profile is noted due to thermal relaxation constant.

Measuring The Current State Of Intellectual Productivity Among Faculty Members At The Libyan Academy For Postgraduate Studies In Janzour: An Analytical Study

Higher education institutions serve as the source of intellectual enlightenment and are pioneers of development and modernization in societies. They drive economic and social growth. These institutions are distinguished by their focus on education, scientific research, and community service. The success of universities in fulfilling their role depends on the quality and distinction of their faculty members. No university can thrive without the competence of its teaching staff. Faculty members are regarded as the most vital component of the knowledge capital that fuels the institution and are instrumental in achieving its objectives. The academic role of universities extends beyond teaching; it encompasses scientific research and societal development. Notably, developed nations place great emphasis on supporting faculty members, allowing them to dedicate themselves to research that drives progress. Thus, the intellectual productivity of university professors holds significant importance, emphasizing the need to study this aspect. This role is evident in how professors guide the intellectual movement within society, addressing and solving pressing societal issues. Importantly, the intellectual output of university professors is not necessarily tied to the academic promotion system established by universities, as scientific advancement should serve as a motivator for research rather than being the sole objective. The focus of this study centers on the following questions: What is the extent of scientific productivity? How closely is it related to societal issues? And what are the key drivers of scientific productivity among faculty members at the Libyan Academy for Postgraduate Studies?

Understanding the public voices and researchers speaking into the 5G narrative.

The many different voices speaking into the current narrative surrounding the health effects of 5G technologies necessitate an exploration of the background of the various published author-spokespersons and their potential motives. This has been attempted recently by de Vocht and Albers. However, that opinion piece used a narrow investigative lens, resulting in an undermining of both the rationality of the concerned general public and the motives of specific researchers. At the same time, biases, conflicts of interest, and flaws found in "independent" reviews were not considered. To address these oversights, an evidence-based appraisal of public opinion and the scientific caliber of authors involved in the 5G health discussion is warranted. Subsequently, this review article presents an analysis of the available Australian data representing public voices, while also conducting a broader investigation of the level of expertise of recent author-spokespersons based on their experience as scientists, particularly in the area of health effects of radiofrequency electromagnetic fields. This review thus attempts to more clearly illustrate for the reader the caliber and motives of the voices speaking into the 5G narrative. The article concludes with a set of questions that need to be answered to enable scientists to advise policy makers more effectively on matters of 5G and public health.
