Development of audio-visual media to enhance student comprehension in Islamic education

This study aims to develop audio-visual media to enhance student understanding in Islamic Education at Madrasah Aliyah Tulungagung. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed to explore in-depth the processes and experiences associated with the use of this media. The research subjects included Islamic Education teachers, students, the headmaster, and curriculum staff. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGD), participant observations, and documentation. Data analysis involved transcription, coding, categorization, and interpretation. The findings indicate that audiovisual media are effective in assisting students in understanding complex and abstract concepts in Islamic education. This media also boosts student motivation and engagement in learning. However, the use of this media faces challenges such as limited technological facilities and preparation time constraints. The study recommends enhancing support for facilities and providing training for teachers to optimize the use of audio-visual media. With appropriate support, this media has the potential to become an effective tool in improving the quality of Islamic education at Madrasah Aliyah Tulungagung and other madrasahs in Indonesia.

Analysis of Students Motivation and Mathematics Learning Outcomes on the Material Simplifying Algebra

Each student has a different view of math lessons. For those who consider math fun, there will be motivation in students to learn mathematics and be optimistic in solving challenging problems in mathematics lessons. Learning motivation has a significant role in students' math learning outcomes. Several studies have shown a positive relationship between learning motivation and math learning achievement. A descriptive qualitative method was used in this study. The results obtained from the motivation questionnaire for students with low motivation were 42.86%, students with moderate motivation were 35.71% and students with high motivation were 21.34%. For each indicator of student learning motivation with an average of moderate. or the student learning outcomes test, the average was 62.31 with a medium category.

SELF-REGULATED LEARING DESIGN AS AN APPLICATION OF STUDENT'S SELF-ASSESSMENT IN MATHEMATICS LEARNING

Self-regulated learning is one of the important factors in learning to control oneself in thinking and acting. The purpose of this research is to analyze how much students have achieved their independence in learning. Student learning independence includes all matters of student learning independently without the help of others, student learning motivation or things that affect student independence in learning, especially in learning mathematics. This analysis study will be continued as an effort to improve self-regulated learning. The scope of self-regulated learning was analyzed by descriptive quantitative method through data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires on the object of research taken from a population of 25 students. Data collection was carried out with a questionnaire consisting of 20 statements from indicators of students' self-regulated learning ability. In learning mathematics, students who have initiative and instrinsic learning motivation, apply learning targets, and set a learning schedule in the percentage of almost half of the students do according to these indicators of independence. Almost all students diagnose learning needs, view difficulties as challenges, utilize and seek relevant sources. However, a small proportion of students lack self-efficacy or confidence in their abilities and are still low in evaluating the learning process and results. So that as an educator this needs to be considered to be able to improve students' self-regulated learning abilities (learning independence) in order to improve student achievement.

The Role of Teacher Strategies in Increasing Student Motivation in Aqidah Akhlak Subjects

A concise and factual abstract is required. The abstract should state This study aims to determine student learning motivation, teacher strategies, and supporting and inhibiting factors in increasing Aqidah Akhlak’s learning motivation. The descriptive qualitative approach is research that describes stimuli and events factually and systematically regarding the factors, characteristics, and relationships between phenomena owned to do the basics only. The research uses a credibility or trust test to assess the results. The main findings of this study show that students’ Aqidah Akhlak learning motivation can be increased by applying various creative learning methods, appropriate reward strategies, and adjustments to student needs. Supporting factors include student enthusiasm, teacher competence, learning facilities, a conducive environment, positive friends, and family support. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include unsupportive family conditions, less than optimal student and teacher health, a less conducive classroom environment, and negative peer influence.

The Effect Of Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) Method On Visual Programming Knowledge Outcomes In Educational Technology Students

This study aims to evaluate the effect of the Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) method on differences in student knowledge outcomes in the Visual Programming course in the Educational Technology Study Program. This study used a quasi-experimental design with two groups, namely the experimental class that applied the PAL method vertically and the control class that used conventional learning methods. The research participants totaled 50 students, drawn from the four class offerings randomly and divided into 2 class groups of 25 learners each. Data were collected through learning motivation questionnaire and knowledge test measured by Likert scale and Bloom's Taxonomy-based test on cognitive domain. Results of statistical analysis with Two-Way Anova test showed that there was no significant difference in knowledge outcomes with a value of 0.331>0.05 based on learning motivation. However, the study showed a value of 0.036 <0.05, meaning that there was a significant difference between the PAL method and conventional learning on student knowledge outcomes. In addition, the value of 0.972>0.05 means that there is no significant interaction between the level of student learning motivation and learning methods on knowledge outcomes. This study found good responses from students where they prefer and are enthusiastic about learning with the PAL method compared to the conventional method, because the method is considered more flexible and comfortable to use for learning. This study suggests further evaluation related to the use of the PAL method by improving tutor skills and setting the duration of learning to increase effectiveness in achieving student learning outcomes

THE USE OF VIDEO YOUTUBE TO IMPROVE STUDENTS ENGLISH VOCABULARY AT SMK MITRA NUSANTARA KOTA BEKASI IN ACADEMIC 2023/2024

English is a global language that serves as a link between different parts of the world. Rich vocabulary and mastery of sentence structure are two of the many important elements in learning English. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of using YouTube videos in improving students' vocabulary and learning motivation in learning English. The method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) involving cycles of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 28 students of class XI of Light Vehicle Engineering at SMK Mitra Nusantara in the academic year 2023/2024. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and initial and final tests. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that there was an increase in students' active participation and an increase in vocabulary scores. The pre-test average score of 59.64 increased to 70.07 in the cycle 1 post-test, and to 80.39 in the cycle 2 post-test. The number of students who met the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) increased from 10 students in the pre-test, to 18 students in cycle 1, and 24 students in cycle 2. The findings indicate that the use of YouTube videos as learning media is more effective than conventional methods in improving students' English vocabulary. The researcher suggests that teachers consider the integration of audio-visual media such as YouTube videos in English language learning to improve students' learning outcomes.

The Impact of Teaching Style and Course Structure on Intermediate Accounting Students Understanding

Many students face great difficulties in completing Intermediate Accounting courses well. One of the factors that is considered influential is the teaching style. Another factor that can affect students' understanding in studying Intermediate Accounting is the learning structure (course structure). A good learning must include the correct and coherent choice of topics in order to present the learner's point of view and not only from the point of view of experts, in this case lecturers (experts). Based on the results of the research test, the following results can be obtained: 1) Teaching Style has a significant positive effect on students' understanding of the Intermediate Accounting Course; 2) Course Structure has a significant positive effect on Student Understanding in the Intermediate Financial Accounting Course. The implication of this study is that the application of the theory of interpersonal behavior is answered. The results show that this theory can be a valuable tool for understanding and improving interpersonal relationships, and for identifying strategies for solving problems. Furthermore, the practical implications show that the existence of the right teaching style and a course structure that is structured and based on the principle of interrelation between materials can increase student learning motivation because students feel that they can follow the learning flow better. With a clear structure, students tend to understand the concept thoroughly and uninterruptedly

Efektivitas Metode Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Untuk Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Pendidikan Agama Islam

The research results show the following, 1). The numbered heads together method in learning Islamic Religious Education is implemented in 3 stages, namely: a. Planning, b. Implementation, and c. Evaluation. 2). The learning motivation of students at Arif Rahman Hakim High School is identified through a number of indicators, namely. a. Foster mutual cooperation between group members and exchange ideas, b. Developing encouragement for students' enthusiasm for learning, c. Responsible for oneself and the group, d. Have good relationships with all teachers at Arif Rahman Hakim High School, South Tangerang and parents of students, e. The school environment can have a strong impact on the religious quality of students, f. The success of the Numbered Heads Together method in learning Islamic Religious Education. From the research results, it can be concluded that the Numbered Heads Together method at Arif Rahman Hakim High School plays an effective role.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INTRINSIC LEARNING MOTIVATION AND STUDENTS LEARNING ACHIEVEMENTS IN NURSING ASSISTANT DEPARTMENT AT VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL 8 BATAM

Intrinsic learning motivation is a strong drive or desire that comes from within a person to achieve optimal learning achievement from within themselves. Students will be more enthusiastic and responsible for the learning activities they participate in, which can be beneficial for their needs in achieving satisfactory learning achievement. This study aims to determine the relationship between intrinsic learning motivation and learning achievement in students majoring in Nursing Assistant at SMK Negeri 8 Batam. This study uses a cross-sectional method. The number of samples in this study was 91 students majoring in Nursing Assistant with a technique of total sampling. The research results showed that univariate analysis of the frequency of high intrinsic learning motivation was obtained by 40 students (43.9%), results of the frequency of student achievement increasing were obtained by 52 students (57.1%), and students who have high intrinsic learning motivation with increasing learning achievement are 31 students (34.1%). Meanwhile, bivariate analysis use Chi Square shows a p-value of 0.007 < 0.05, meaning that there is a significant relationship between positive intrinsic learning motivation and student achievement in the Nursing Assistant Department of SMK Negeri 8 Batam. Students are advised to be more active in asking questions during the teaching and learning process and to independently repeat the lessons they have learned to prepare for the exam.

Hubungan antara Iklim Kelas dengan Motivasi Belajar Siswa Sekolah Dasar

This research aims to obtain the description of classroom climate and student learning motivation, as well as examining the relationship between classroom climate and students learning motivation at SDN Sungai Raya 1. This research uses a quantitative approach. The population is 18 class IV students. The sampling technique used a total sampling technique. The data collection technique used was an indirect communication technique using a questionnaire. Determining the correlation between classroom climate and learning motivation using correlation calculations between variables. The results of the research that has been carried out can be concluded that based on the statements of students at SDN Sungai Raya 1, most students stated that the classroom climate was in the very good category with a percentage of 39%, followed by the good category at 33%, then the moderate category at 22%, and the least is in the less category at 6%. Meanwhile, students' learning motivation at SDN Sungai Raya 1 is mostly in the high category with a percentage of 38%, followed by the very high learning motivation category at 28%, then the moderate learning motivation category at 22%, and the least is the low motivation category at 11%. Data from research on classroom climate with learning motivation which was calculated using the correlation formula between variables with the help of SPSS version 20, the results were rcount 0.691 > rtable 0.468, this result shows that there is a significant relationship between classroom climate and student learning motivation at SDN Sungai Raya 1.

Development of Interactive Learning Media Assisted by Lumio by SMART to Increase The Learning Motivation of IPAS

The lack of technology utilization in the learning process at SDN Klepu 01 affects students' learning motivation. This research aims to develop interactive learning media assisted by Lumio by SMART, test the media feasibility, and test the media effectiveness in increasing IPAS learning motivation in fifth-grade students of SDN Klepu 01, Semarang Regency. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. The research subjects included media experts, material experts, teachers, and fifth-grade students. The data collection techniques employed non-tests such as interviews, observation, and questionnaires. Media feasibility based on the validation of material experts and media experts obtained scores of 91,25% and 90%, respectively, in a very feasible category. Media feasibility based on teacher and student responses obtained scores of 100% and 96,5%, respectively, in a very feasible category. The effectiveness of the media to increase learning motivation, based on the results of observations by teachers, obtained an average score of 90%, which shows that student learning motivation looks very good. Based on the results of the pretest-posttest questionnaire, the effectiveness of the media in increasing learning motivation is shown by the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, which obtained an Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) of 0,000 <0,05 shows a significant difference, while based on the N-gain results obtained a value of 0,69 with medium category. Thus, the interactive learning media assisted by Lumio by SMART that has been developed can be declared feasible and effective in increasing IPAS learning motivation.

Menggali Potensi: Pengaruh Metode Pembelajaran Interaktif Moving Terhadap Motivasi Belajar Siswa

Education is the main pillar in the self-development of individuals and society. Education serves to transfer knowledge, skills and values from the younger generation. In this context, learning motivation is very important because it is an internal drive that encourages students to be able to actively participate in the learning process. However, during observations at one of the SMKs in Kediri Regency, it was shown that the learning motivation of students in class XI- DPIB (Building Modeling and Information Design) was still relatively low, with many students doing activities irrelevant to the lesson. The selection of appropriate learning methods is needed to be able to provide learning motivation for students.

Optimization of Shift Learning System: Its Impact on History Subject Students in Grade XI

Purpose of the study: The aim of this study is to examine the impact of the shift learning system on the learning outcomes, motivation, and understanding of history subject students in Grade XI at State Senior High School 6, Bengkulu City. Methodology: This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through structured and unstructured interviews, observations, and document reviews. Tools included notebooks, audio recorders, and cameras for documentation. The data analysis followed a four-step process: data collection, reduction, presentation, and verification. No specific software was mentioned for data processing. Main Findings: The shift learning system improves teacher-student interactions and creates a more focused learning environment. Students report better comprehension in smaller classes, while teachers find class management easier. However, challenges include increased teacher workload, uneven understanding due to shorter sessions, and difficulty for some students in adapting to independent tasks. Lecture methods remain effective but may cause boredom among students. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study uniquely explores the specific impact of the shift learning system on history education for Grade XI students in Bengkulu City, focusing on teacher-student interactions, learning outcomes, and material comprehension. It provides new insights into adapting teaching methods in resource-limited settings and offers a local perspective that can guide similar educational policies elsewhere.

Social Support, Achievement Goal Orientation and Learning Motivation Among Chinese College Students

This study explores how social support (teacher and peer) influences learning motivation and achievement goal orientation among 410 Chinese college students. Descriptive analysis reveals a positive relationship between social support and both motivation and goal orientation. Interestingly, learning motivation acts as a mediator between these two factors. Students prioritize performance and mastery goals, reflecting a shift towards applying knowledge and achieving objectives. Peer support is the primary source of social connection. Additionally, intrinsic motivation is generally stronger than extrinsic motivation. These findings illuminate the complexities of Chinese university learning environments. Understanding the interplay between achievement goals and social support can inform educators and policymakers in creating environments that foster stronger learning motivation in Chinese college students.

Measuring Critical Thinking Skills in Science Learning: Students’ Perception Versus Actual Performance

The success of teaching can be measured by the critical thinking skills of students as demonstrated through their activities and study results. A descriptive quantitative study was conducted using the Student Perception of Critical Thinking Questionnaire (SPCTQ) to determine the perceptions of 82 grade IX secondary school students in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, regarding their critical thinking skills and their actual performance in the learning process using the Critical Thinking Observation Sheet (CTOS). The data was analyzed using correlation test analysis. The findings showed that the SPCTQ score was higher than the CTOS value. However, there was no relationship between students' perceptions of their critical thinking skills and learning performance. Although students believed their critical thinking skills were good, they could have performed better in the learning process. This highlights that students' critical thinking skills cannot be maximized solely based on self-confidence, beliefs, and student motivation in learning. Instead, it is important to maintain and shape students' perceptions of their critical thinking skills to suit the learning process.

Transformation of Student Motivation Through the Use of Quizizz in Language Learning: A Longitudinal Approach in Secondary Education

This study aims to explore the transformation of student motivation in language learning through the use of the Quizizz gamification platform with a longitudinal approach. Quizizz was chosen because of its gamification elements that can increase student engagement and motivation to learn. A quantitative approach with an experimental design was used to measure changes in students' motivation in the experimental group using Quizizz and the control group using conventional learning methods. A total of 60 high school students participated in the study, with motivation measurements taken at the beginning, middle, and end of the semester. The results showed that the use of Quizizz significantly increased student motivation in the long term compared to conventional methods, with a steady increase at each measurement point. Further analysis showed a positive correlation between gamification elements in Quizizz, such as points and leaderboards, and students' intrinsic motivation. All research hypotheses were accepted, which confirms that Quizizz is not only effective in increasing students' motivation to learn but also maintaining their enthusiasm for learning the language. This research makes an important contribution to the use of digital platforms in education, as well as supporting the implementation of the Independent Curriculum that encourages flexibility and a student-centered learning approach. Quizizz as a gamification platform can be an effective tool in language learning at the secondary education level, potentially increasing student motivation on an ongoing basis.

Implementation of STEM Integrated Problem Based Learning Model to Improve Problem Solving Skills and Learning Motivation of Grade X Vocational High School Students on the Material of Substances and Their Changes

This study aims to analyze significant differences in problem-solving ability and learning motivation simultaneously between experimental class students and control class students; problem-solving ability between experimental class students and control class students; learning motivation between experimental class students and control class students; analyze the effective contribution of learning using PBL-STEM to students' problem-solving ability and learning motivation simultaneously; analyze the effective contribution of learning using PBL-STEM to students' problem-solving ability; analyze the effective contribution of learning using the PBL-STEM model to students' problem-solving motivation. This study uses a quasi-experimental model with a posttest only design. The sample of this study consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class, by random sampling. The experimental class uses learning with PBL-STEM, while the control class uses learning with a scientific approach. Data collection on problem-solving ability was obtained from descriptive test data and learning motivation data through a questionnaire. The MANOVA test was used to analyze the differences in problem-solving ability and learning motivation of experimental and control class students simultaneously. The between subject effect test was used to analyze the differences in each dependent variable in the experimental class and the control class. The partial eta square test was used to analyze the effective contribution of PBL-STEM to the dependent variable. The results showed that there were differences in problem-solving ability and learning motivation simultaneously between students in the experimental group and the control group; there were significant differences in problem-solving ability between students in the experimental group and the control group; there were significant differences in learning motivation between students in the experimental group and the control group; the effective contribution of using PBL-STEM to problem-solving ability and learning motivation simultaneously was 24.6% (high); the effective contribution of using PBL-STEM to problem-solving ability was 19% (high); the effective contribution of using PBL-STEM to learning motivation was 15.7% (high).

The Impact of Content-based instruction on Students' Writing skill and Learning Motivation at SMP Negeri 6 Wasile

Penelitian ini menyelidiki tiga masalah utama terkait penerapan model content-based instruction (CBI) dalam pengajaran keterampilan menulis kepada siswa kelas delapan di SMP Negeri 6 Wasile. Pertama, penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana CBI diterapkan dalam pengajaran menulis. Kedua, penelitian ini menilai dampak CBI terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa dan hasil belajar secara keseluruhan. Ketiga, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana CBI mempengaruhi motivasi siswa dalam belajar keterampilan menulis. Dilakukan di kalangan siswa kelas delapan di Maluku Utara, penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan tiga instrumen: pre-test dan post-test untuk keterampilan menulis, checklist observasi untuk guru dan siswa, serta kuesioner untuk siswa. Kelas eksperimen menerima perlakuan CBI selama empat sesi, sedangkan kelas kontrol diajarkan menggunakan metode konvensional. Observasi dilakukan selama perlakuan, diikuti dengan kuesioner untuk kelompok eksperimen. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan SPSS, mengungkap temuan kunci: CBI secara signifikan meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa, karena baik guru maupun siswa merasa lebih mudah terlibat dengan konten menulis yang relevan dengan minat mereka. Selain itu, CBI meningkatkan motivasi siswa, sehingga proses belajar menjadi lebih menyenangkan dan mudah diakses.

Development of Audio Visual Based PAI Teaching Materials to Increase Learning Motivation for Class V Students at SDN Panaguan 3 Kec. Proppo

In order to enhance students’ learning motivation, it is necessary to use instructional materials that have the ability to captivate students’ attention. The objective of this study is to provide audio-visual Islamic Religious Education instructional resources with the aim of enhancing the learning motivation of 5th grade students at Panaguan 3 State Elementary School in the Proppo District. This study utilises a Research and Development (R&D) approach. Data was gathered through the utilisation of observation, interview, and questionnaire methodologies. The data obtained from the surveys, which consist of numerical values and percentages, will be subjected to descriptive analysis. The research findings demonstratethat the canva programme was used to create audio-visual-based teaching materials for Islamic Religious Education, specifically focusing on chapter 6 titled “Leaving Peacefully in Togetherness”. The learning materials passes the requirements of being highly practicable to use as the results of the media expert validation questionnaire are 90% (very feasible), linguist validation 90%(very feasible), and material expert validation 95% (very feasible). While the results of the student assessment questionnaire through the three sections of the assessment attained an average value of 95% ehich suggests that this learning material is very attractive to students’ attention and interest in learning so that it could increase student learning motivation.

PENGARUH PENERAPAN SISTEM FULL DAY SCHOOL TERHADAP MOTIVASI BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK DI SMPN 1 BEKASI

The full day school system is a system that can encourage increased learning motivation and character building of students at school, because learning can be done in a longer time. However, through interviews conducted with several teachers and students of SMPN 1 BEKASI, several opinions were found that were against this system. In fact, the various benefits obtained through the implementation of the full day school system still cannot eliminate some of these counter opinions. This study aims to determine the effect of the Full Day School System on learning motivation and student character building at SMPN 1 BEKASI. This study uses a quantitative method with a sample of 29 ninth grade students. So that the filled questionnaire must be 29 data according to the number of samples. This study uses simple regression analysis techniques to test the variable fullday school system on learning motivation. The results stated that there was no significant effect on the implementation of the full day school system on student learning motivation. In many cases, students actually feel exhausted or less focused when school hours are extended without any significant changes in the learning approach or a more conducive learning atmosphere.
