Development of near-infrared spectroscopy calibration model and monitoring software: For monitoring hexamethylenetetramine concentration in hexamethylenetetramine–acetic acid solution

In recent years, near-infrared spectroscopy has been increasingly used in chemical engineering processes. However, accurately and in real-time monitoring concentrations remains highly challenging. This study presents a method for accurately monitoring the hexamethylenetetramine concentration in hexamethylenetetramine-acetic acid solution by integrating near-infrared spectroscopy with software techniques. Compared to the methods of zero mean standardization (Z-score), standard normal variate (SNV), first derivative (D1), second derivative (D2), and vector normalization (VN), the Savitzky-Golay first derivative (SGFD) method effectively addresses issues related to baseline drift, noise, and other interferences. This results in clearer identification of characteristic absorption peaks of different components and a significant improvement in the accuracy of the analysis. The study combined the uninformative variable elimination (UVE), differential evolution (DE), and moth flame optimization (MFO) algorithms to optimize a feature wavenumber selection method, which reduced the number of variables by 78.74 %, and the values of root mean square error of calibration set (RMSEC) and root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) by 18.86 % and 30.38 %, respectively. Additionally, the analytical method was integrated with real-time monitoring software, enabling the monitoring of hexamethylenetetramine concentration. This integration supports the improvement of the quality and safety of the manufacturing process. The results demonstrate the potential application of near-infrared spectroscopy in real-time monitoring and automated control of chemical processes in the chemical industry.

Empowering Communities: Blynk Software Training and Prototyping for Environmental Monitoring Around Grape Plants

This community engagement paper highlights a training initiative on Blynk software and prototype development for environmental monitoring around grape plants. The training took place in a vineyard in the Tangerang Selatan region. The majority of participants expressed satisfaction with the program, citing increased ease in grape plant observations. The use of Blynk software, coupled with IoT functionality, enabled seamless smartphone monitoring, providing participants with a convenient and efficient means of tracking and observing grape plants. This initiative not only empowered the local community with valuable technological skills but also enhanced their ability to monitor and manage grape cultivation effectively. The integration of Blynk and IoT technology proved to be a practical solution for community-based environmental observation, promoting sustainable agricultural practices in the grape cultivation sector. The Blynk software training and prototyping for grape plant environmental monitoring in Tangerang, supported by faculty and student teams, proceeded smoothly. Participants' reported ease levels after the training were: 40% very easy, 40% easy, and 20% difficult.

Development of data acquisition system for Belle II electromagnetic calorimeter

The electromagnetic calorimeter (ECL) is one of the primary subsystems of the Belle II detector, used to measure the direction and momentum of photons in a wide energy range. The ECL and its data acquisition system include 8736 CsI(Tl) counters and 628 highly configurable modules for data readout. Several features both in the firmware and in the software were implemented to ensure efficient operation during data taking. This paper describes the development of ECL firmware, corresponding configuration, initialization and monitoring software, along with the development of ECL run control.

This paper adopts deep learning self-encoding algorithm, using JAVA, C++ and python language mixed programming computing technology to realize wind turbine parameter monitoring and early warning and software system design and development. This paper describes the database design, process management mode, fault early warning model, alarm value processing and human-computer interaction interface of the system, explains the software operation process and workflow, as well as the early warning mechanism and algorithm of the system, and realizes the early fault early warning function of wind turbine operation parameters.

Temperature and Weight Monitoring of the Apis Cerana Bee Colony Indonesia

Abstract Remote and automatic monitoring of two Apis Cerana bee colonies was conducted in Indonesia to demonstrate precision beekeeping approach in that region. Successful implementation of the precision beekeeping system includes development of the bee colony monitoring hardware and software for data collection, analysis and visualisation. This paper focuses on development and installation of such systems at the private apiary in Indonesia. For bee colony monitoring at the apiary a developed monitoring unit was used, which is based on ESP microchip, and for the data storage SAMS data warehouse was used. The monitoring results showed that the choice of the location of the temperature sensor is important, as the temperature at the hive sides changes synchronously with the outside temperature. Also, feedback from the beekeeper is collected to further improve the system and monitoring process. This research is conducted within the SAMS – Smart Apiculture Management Services project, which is funded by the European Union within the H2020-ICT-39-2016-2017 call and with close collaboration with the local private beekeeper. Development and application of online monitoring software for pollutants on oil platforms

The purpose of this study is to improve the efficiency of on-line monitoring of pollutants on oil platform and the economic benefits of oil exploration and development companies. In this study, firstly, several technologies used in the development of this system are introduced, namely, Common Gatew ay Interface (CGI), Active Server Page (ASP), Document Object Model (DOM) and Internet Information Server (IIS). Secondly, the overall structure of oil anti-fouling statistics system is divided into three functional modules: news module, anti-fouling data processing module and user management module. Finally, the overall workflow of the system, user workflow, system security and database are designed. The results show that the system can realize the rapid and automatic exchange and information sharing of system information, and provide information service for related departments. In addition, it can also improve the comprehensive information query ability, and provide leaders and competent departments with the latest information at any time, so as to provide information support for planning and decision-making. Therefore, through this research, it is possible to speed up the collection and processing of information, improve the comprehensive utilization of information resources, and provide a reliable basis for scientific decision-making.

This study aims to facilitate the management system of monitoring infrastructure program of university facilities and infrastructure, through software engineering technology approach as an effort to improve productivity and quality of monitoring process become more efficient and effective. The software in this research is built in a systematic and organized approach to monitoring infrastructure of facilities and infrastructure using appropriate tools and techniques. Through this research, universities are expected to be able to develop the necessary quality measures to support the process of planning and controlling infrastructure infrastructure monitoring. The research was conducted using survey method, development of monitoring management and software. Up to the design stage of this program prototype, research has produced a special picture of the software requirements to be built in the next year. Software development process starting from the analysis phase of system and software requirements, designing data structures up to the architecture stage of the program has produced a list of needs/requirements, the design of program prototype contained in the design of input/output for the monitoring process facilities and infrastructure.

The African elephant Loxodonta spp conservation programmes of North Carolina Zoo: two decades of using emerging technologies to advance in situ conservation efforts

The North Carolina Zoo (Asheboro, NC, USA) has been actively involved with field‐based conservation initiatives targeting wild elephants in Africa for over 20 years. To overcome resource and logistical constraints faced by our African collaborators working in rural areas, the Zoo has helped to develop several emerging techniques and technologies. The Zoo's oldest field programme, which is still ongoing, uses novel anaesthesia techniques to fit satellite‐tracking collars on elephants in the field to gain a better understanding of their movement patterns in West and Central Africa. In addition, rangers use the real‐time tracking data generated from these collars as an early‐warning system to redirect roaming elephants back to protected areas before they come into conflict with human activities. The Zoo is also strengthening capacity for anti‐poaching activities by digitizing and standardizing patrol data collection. To this end, the Zoo has supported the development and implementation of Spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool (SMART) conservation software, a freely available and fully customizable package that allows patrol data to be collected on handheld devices such as smartphones, from where it can be imported into computers for automated analysis and report generation. To date, the Zoo has helped implement SMART at 14 protected areas in five African countries, several of which contain substantial elephant populations. To ensure the effectiveness and sustainable use of these technologies, ongoing training and technical support are provided, and are considered vital components of all our field programmes.

Recording Program of Basic System for Seismometric Monitoring of the Technical Condition of Buildings and Structures

Problems of software development for basic seismometric monitoring of the technical condition of buildings and structures are considered. A client–server architecture is chosen for the recording program of the system. The server component provides interconnection with the equipment, data acquisition, storage, and processing. The client component provides the user (operator) interface, hardware configuration and application, and representation of system tasks and results in user-friendly form. The seismic monitoring system operates in two modes: the main one includes the isolation and recording of seismic events with assessment of their impact on a structure using the MSK-64 scale; the advanced mode provides recording of microseismic vibrations according to the schedule (specified by the operator) for monitoring the technical condition of a structure. Moreover, the system continuously records oscillations of an object. Thus, the server program writes and stores three types of files: seismic events, monitoring, and continuous recording. When a seismic event is detected or system malfunctions arise, responsible personnel are notified by e-mail and SMS according to an approved list. All operator actions, as well as system functioning events, are fixed in the message log and system log. The client program provides visualization of data on oscillations at observation sites in the form of oscillation seismograms, current signal-amplitude spectra, and vibration-level histograms from the measurement channels for a selected component. All information important for the operator (display of sensors and their status, current configuration, seismograms of corresponding measurement channels, and a list of latest messages in the system) is presented in a mnemonic diagram, which is one of the main working windows of the application. The main specific features of the program are support of different types of equipment (seismic stations), independence from the number of connected seismic stations/recorders, wide possibilities in configuring the system hardware and the application itself, the possibility of unlimited user (client) connections for browsing seismometric data, and multilanguage support.

Sentiment Analysis in monitoring software development processes: An exploratory case study on GitHub's project issues

Software process models, which allow us to develop software products, can be improved by using the corresponding quality model. However, current tendencies in the application of Global Software Engineering and Global Software Development, which forces geographically dispersed teams to collaborate, make the usual monitoring techniques obsolete. This situation has led to looking for new methods that can help in the decision making process, such as the case of the Social Network Analysis field.In this article we propose the introduction of Sentiment Analysis techniques in order to identify and monitor the underlying sentiments in the text written by developers in issues and tickets. Therefore, in order to check its viability we conducted an exploratory case study analysing polarity and emotional clues in development issues from nine well-known projects that are freely available. Results show that although both polarity and emotional analysis are applicable, the emotional analysis looks to be more suitable to this kind of corpus. The developers leave underlying sentiments in the text, and that information could be monitored as any other feature in the development process.

Development of Equipment Management and Monitoring Software for EAST NBI

For the sake of achieving to manage and monitor the experimental equipment scientifically, as well as relevant experiment information for Neutral Beam Injection (NBI) system, NBI equipment management and monitor software is developed for managing and monitoring the experimental equipment between the remote server control layer and the field management and control layer. Experiment results show that managing equipment scientifically can ensure equipment security and promote the progress of the experiment smoothly. NBI Equipment management and monitoring software is programmed by C language which runs on Windows system and can work steadily and reliably now during the NBI experiments.

Multi-Source Fusion Power Quality Monitoring and Analysis Application System

There is a restriction on the development of power quality monitoring software for lacking of corresponding technical specification and uniform systematic planning. In this thesis, the concept of supporting platform of power quality monitoring and analysis system is posed and the supporting platform provides data service, report work, authority management, alarm service, authority management, communication service and other public services; abiding by the advocacy of IEC 61970 Standard, the system applies CORBA component technology inside and outside the system and realizes the “plug and play” of public services and applications. Through the standardized public communication service module, the data interaction with other power quality monitoring software, PMS system, DMS/EMS system and other third-party systems is completed and the multi-angle and deep power quality analysis are conducted based on multi-source information fusion technology and the power quality analysis and evaluation, harmonic source location, power quality warning, management decision support and other intelligent analysis application are realized.

Design and Implementation of Photo Voltaic System: Arduino Approach

Photovoltaic (PV) is a renewable energy source and has become an important source of power for a wide range of applications. Design and implementation of an Arduino based Photovoltaic system are presented in this paper. Proposed system includes Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique, sun tracking technique to generate maximum power from PV panel and monitoring software for monitoring the performance of Photovoltaic system. The paper describes the design of MPPT unit, sun tracking unit and development of monitoring software for PC. Finally experimental results validate the performance of the proposed system.
