Coconut Creek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208.In modern interior design, the three-dimensional design software, with its obvious advantages and functional characteristics, promotes the interior design work to a higher and farther direction. The information sharing function of 3D design software can realize the interactive use and comprehensive application of various kinds of information, which brings a very solid and reliable guarantee for interior design. Therefore, in the future interior design, it is necessary to increase the interactive use of 3D design software, promote it to achieve information sharing, and promote interior design more real and efficient. This paper mainly aims at the related problems of 3D indoor design under the condition of marine climate use environment, analyzes the problems and damage caused by marine environment deeply, and gives the 3D indoor design which is easy to affect under the condition of high salt spray and high corrosion in marine climate environment.

ЕКЛЕКТИКА, ФЬЮЖН ТА КІТЧ У ДИЗАЙНІ ІНТЕР’ЄРУ ГРОМАДСЬКИХ ЗАКЛАДІВ

Outline and articulate the specifics of each of the listed interior styles. Create the ability to correctly set the interior to the style specified by matching the dominant characteristic. The method of field surveys of public institutions of the city of Lviv and general scientific methods were used. Literature sources on the topic of the study are considered in accordance with the methods of comparative analysis. The systematization of the material is based on the techniques of analysis, synthesis and analogies as well. Based on the literature review of approaches to the classification of interiors in considered styles have been identified; the lack of uniform interpretation of their features was established. At the same time, the existence of a peculiar identity of their perception in the scientific literature was confirmed. Samples of modern interiors of Lviv restaurants are considered and their style is demonstrated. The concept of the existence of a key characteristic for each of the styles is substantiated, which allows them to better determine their belonging to a particular style, in particular: fusion - a blend of modern and antique; eclecticism - a mixture of interior elements of historical styles without the use of modern elements; kitsch - an imitation of the essence of space and lack of environmental approach. It is to determine the dominant characteristic for attributing the interior to one of these styles. For greater efficiency, the focus is on the formation of one dominant trait, rather than a complex system of indicators and characteristics. The author's dominant attributes make it possible to classify the interior style more efficiently, which leads to better communication between the designer and the customer, and promotes better understanding in the environment of the professional community of interior designers.

THE POSSIBILITY OF ACHIEVING AESTHETIC AND FUNCTIONAL VALUES IN THE INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE OF WARM REGIONS USING MULTI-LAYERED CURTAINS

The desire for the creativity and development in designing any product are considered of the essential and important factors in the product design process, which would enable them to have access to the competitive product. Fabrics are playing a significant role in the interior decoration of the house, and they give both harmonic atmosphere and color which gives the house its own identity. The curtain fabrics are considered one of the important upholstery fabrics , whether these curtains are used in homes, hotels, restaurants, or offices, meeting rooms, tourist villages and youth gatherings ........ etc. The functional performance of fabrics is closely related to architectural art as it is considered a mean of achieving an architectural function where it helps in building the architectural identity of the place. The beauty of curtains fabrics lies in its visual appearance as well as its functional efficiency. Curtains have played an important role in housing, particularly in warm areas, where they give it a touch of aesthetic as well as functional role through the use of multiple functions and foremost of which is thermal insulation .The search is based on studying the possibility of achieving functional and aesthetic value in modern interior architecture for multi layered curtains, in this research curtain fabrics were designed and produced of using a variety of designs and double cloque structure by adding a wadding layer of warp and weft yarns.

Current trends in Green Urbanism and peculiarities of multifunctional complexes, hotels and offices greening

The analysis of domestic and world publications on the evolution of ornamental garden plants use from the ancient Egyptians, Greeks and ancient Romans to the “dark times” of the middle Ages and the subsequent Renaissance was carried out. It was made in order to understand the current trends of Green Urbanism and in particular regarding the diversity of floral and ornamental arrangements used in the design of modern interiors of public spaces. The aim of the article is to grasp current trends of Green Urbanism regarding the diversity of floral and ornamental arrangements used in the design of modern interiors of public premises. Cross-cultural comparative methods have been used, partially using the hermeneutics of old-printed texts in accordance with the modern system of scientific knowledge. The historical antecedents of ornamental gardening, horticulture, forestry and vegetable growing, new trends in the ornamental plants cultivation, modern aspects of Green Urbanism are discussed. The need for the introduction of indoor plants in the residential and office premises interiors is argued in order to create a favorable atmosphere for work and leisure. The extreme importance of selecting an assortment and developing environmentally friendly ways to increase the resistance of indoor plants against pathogens and pests in conditions of insufficient lighting, humidity, abnormal fluctuations in air temperature, etc. has been revealed. In conclusion, the world experience in the use of ornamental garden plants testifies to the eternal desire of man for unity with nature, which is especially growing in conditions of progressive urbanization. The current global trends of Green Urbanism are of particular importance in Ukraine in terms of the Ukrainian public aspirations to integrate the state into the European community.

Impacts of large-scale interior murals on hospital employees: a pharmacy department case study

Purpose Trending in modern interior design frameworks is an integration of real and simulated (i.e. photographs, murals) elements of nature into buildings, and a number of interdisciplinary studies concern the effects of nature on various aspects of human functioning. The purpose of this paper is to measure employees’ self-reported levels of affective organizational commitment (AOC), perceived productivity, well-being, attention restoration and satisfaction at work to explore how each mural is conceptualized and to make recommendations to hospital administrators and facilities managers as they make decisions concerning mural design and placement. One hospital had a biophilic mural and the other had a bold abstract mural. Design/methodology/approach The research was carried out using post-occupancy evaluation and mixed-methods survey design. Findings Employees in both hospitals disagreed that their organizational commitment (OC), perceived productivity or well-being at work had improved since the new murals had been installed. Responses from both hospitals were also low concerning perceptions of attention restoration. Indeed, no significant differences between hospitals were found. Correlations among scales were found within hospitals that support published studies. More correlations occurred at the hospital where employees viewed the biophilic mural (e.g. between OC and perceived productivity, and between satisfaction with the physical environment and perceived productivity). At both sites, satisfaction with the physical environment correlated with OC. Originality/value The authors expected that those working within view of the biophilic mural would report stronger ratings of AOC, perceived productivity, well-being, attention restoration and satisfaction with the workplace than employees with a view of the abstract scene. No differences between groups were found; responses to psychosocial scale items asking about whether attitudes had improved after the retrofit were low or neutral for employees in either hospital. However, more correlations between scales that support existing literature were revealed for those working near the biophilic mural. Thus, the authors recommend architectural programming before a design change to gather insight on occupants’ preferences at work.

Impact of Apartment Tightness on the Concentrations of Toxic Gases Emitted During a Fire

Due to the thermal modernization process of old residential buildings, there has been a significant increase in the air-tightness of apartments, which may contribute to the deterioration of the safety of users and rescue teams in a fire, for example, the emergence of a very dangerous backdraft phenomenon. The aim of the study was to investigate the impact of air-tightness of premises on selected fire parameters in particular toxic gas concentrations, which is the most common cause of deaths of people due to fires. In the research, an experimental method was used, consisting of the measurement of concentrations of gases such as oxygen, carbon monoxide and dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, propylene, acetylene, hydrogen and nitric oxide, and dioxide, which most often give off during a fire due to modern interior design materials. Two fire tests were carried out, one in a sealed apartment and the other unsealed (one window wing half-open). The concentrations of the previously mentioned gases obtained in both tests are presented and then compared with each other. Based on the analysis, conclusions have been formulated, which suggest that increasing the tightness may increase the toxicity of the fire environment.

This visual essay is the outcome of a research trip through Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, an “on the road trip” designed to discover some of the most representative domestic and urban Modern American interiors. The focus of this work was an investigation of places, cities, and buildings, dealing with the experience of space in the first place but, most of all, aims to understand and develop architectural themes, design processes, compositional principles, and project strategies. The tool for this analysis is a montage (of photographs, images, documents, textures, materials) that, after dissections and distillations, expresses the character and the concept of the building.

LEADING TENDENCIES OF THE USE OF PRODUCTS OF CREATIVE ART IN COLORING THE INTERIORS OF FOODSTUFFS

The modern tendencies of the use of works of fine art in color decision of interiors of catering establishments for creation of an artistic image of an interior by means of architecture and fine arts are covered. It is determined that due to the use of the chosen style, the modern interior of this type of structures contains a large number of different facing materials and works of fine art. Color space design is one of the major issues in interior design because color choices directly affect a person's psychophysiological state. To create a special atmosphere of the food establishment also use works of fine art. This is part of the success of the establishment, because the use of various decoration elements in the interiors and successful pre-adjusted color solutions makes it possible to attract visitors to the institution. Every year there is an increasing number of contemporary trends in the use of fine arts in the interiors of food establishments. This was the reason for the emergence of new styles and the creation of new original ideas for interior design of this type of structures.

UTILIZING SMART TEXTILES IN INTERIOR DESIGN TO REPLACE CONVENTIONAL ARCHITECTURAL FINISHES

Many architects and designers coincide that fabric structures have an imperative role to play in creating an ecofriendly future. In recent years, the use of smart textiles has been particularly popular in the construction practices. These are hailed as environmentally friendly, deliberated as architecturally aesthetic and are usually cost effective. There is a growing demand for hybrid textile materials that combine strength and functionality in a lightweight product at a competitive price. These materials are developed with advanced technical interventions. This paper aims to conceptualize the idea of using smart textiles in the interior architecture to ensure sustainability by replacing the conventional architectural finishes. The use of smart textiles that fetches the possibilities offered by both textile and interior design in the present world has been highlighted with examples. Studies illustrate that the use of smart textile materials have several benefits in the built environment in terms of weight, transparency, adaptability, indoor climate, atmosphere and acoustics. Examples are taken from the superlative case studies from all across the world. The research combines the versatile information and explores the diversity of smart textiles, presenting a framework of future prospects for the utilization of the materials in the modern interior design concepts.

The Materials of Home: Studying Domesticity in Late Colonial India

Abstract In this essay I argue for opening up South Asian historiography on the home to explore not just ideals of middle-class domesticity, but also the material goods and spaces of home lives. This helps to rethink class, as ideals of middle-class respectability were often worked out in buildings and through goods shared with lower classes, deploying caste hierarchies to articulate definitions of proper home life. At the same time, taking materials and spaces seriously allows attention to the role of men in shaping and experiencing homes, whether as designers, retailers, planners, or residents themselves. Drawing on the specific example of the iconic firm Kamdar Ltd., which created modern home interiors in mid-century Bombay, I argue that thinking through the materials of home allows attention to the global engagements of home life defined in class and caste terms, by men and women alike.

The Pioneering thought and its connections with the contemporary design of interior space

The interior spaces depend, in their design, on thought and its novelties, since thought is changeable with the change of human nature and its levels, with the change of time and place, and with the change of events, there for; thought finds a place within the melting pot of influence, to be influenced and keeping up. Thought with all of what it carries of accumulations of knowledge, it makes its role clearly in the mind of designer and his culture and environment and that makes him to have an area of creativity and innovation and leaving the familiar things, innovating distinct things, imposing changes, displacing fixed things, and to clarify this essential joint, we decided to study the concept of thought when it establishes its pioneering as a reference or a contemporary event through diagnosis of the problem of research revolving on the lack of a study specific to the pioneering thought especially in the modern interior design. The communication with the pioneering intellectual references (modernism and after that) requires crystallizing its concepts with the contemporary technological developments because the contemporary interior design doesn't separate in any form from the references that formed its turn in the reality of world interior designs. Problem: (Does the pioneering thought embody in the contemporary design of interior spaces? Does the pioneering thought depend on the principles and styles that have pioneering and intellectual references? Does it give birth to new connections adding to those references contemporary directions?). Objective: manifested in revealing the pioneering thought in the contemporary designs of interior space and in diagnosis its intellectual references and cognitive connections in the light of contemporary directions. Moreover, the importance of research contributes in establishing a primary information base searching in the developments of cognitive design awareness for the thought of design and the necessity of adopting the pioneering thought from it in designing the contemporary interior spaces. Background: 1-The first one includes the general approach of pioneering thought that follows in the direction of establishing the thought whose pioneering is crystallized through the designer's effort as well as keeping on the objective factors that consider progressive and civilized trend. 2-The second one deals with the pioneering thought in the interior design in which the interior space is an essential topic and a practical field representing a practical application of this thought. Procedures: depended on the descriptive methodology in analysis. A sample selected purposely from the population of research. It included applied selected fields of interior space design from the architects of interior space for example the architect "Le Corbusier” and the architect " Zuha Hadid". These designs are distributed in Europe. Results: 1-The contemporary thought is a phenomenon in itself. It established its entity from the mixing of synchronous pioneering intellectual references which are various in the way of their application and it made a change in the paths and a critical transformation in the intellectual position of the contemporary interior designer. 2-The pioneering thought in the design of the interior spaces classified according to the levels of influence. They may have intensive effect that leads to a big stride in the design or they may be a simple contribution that makes some of them classified within the field of pioneering products. Recommendation and suggestions for future researches are given that may contribute in enriching the scientific knowledge for the pioneering thought. Design Objective as an Effective Factor for Sustainable Environment

The interior design is an integral part of the architectural structure. It cannot be neglected in providing a sustainable internal environment for the human being within a functional unit and cohesive design. Therefore, the study of the design purpose has a clear effect in the internal design of the interior spaces on the one hand and the architectural achievement on the other. Depends on the choice of interior designer the of design idea by transforming it the technical imagination to reality, and thus the task of the interior designer is based fundamentally on the adoption of the operational aspect in the design and employment within the trends of formality and aesthetic prevailing, by investing treatment The interior designers must follow in their design speech mechanisms a specific model in order to achieve the desired goal towards the construction of the sustainable internal environment. Hence, this is not done without experience and awareness of the design process. It is necessary to study this topic, which consists of four chapters. For the first chapter, the researcher adopted the formulation of the problem of research, which is summarized as follows: What are the elements of the design goal as an effective influence of the sustainable environment? While the importance of research in the development of experts and workers in the design and engineering of internal environments sustainable, as well as the design side of the study of modern and development of the designs of internal environments sustainable, and in light of the researcher focused the research objective to identify the elements of the design goal and which contribute to the effective impact of the sustainable environment, As for the research boundaries, the researcher has defined objectively the design goal as an effective influence of the sustainable environment, while its spatial and temporal boundaries will ensure the modern interior spaces (the living rooms of the major European residential houses). The second chapter will focus on determining the subject of the research procedures, namely the methodology of research based on the analytical descriptive approach (content analysis), while the research community will focus on the adoption of the selective method. Finally, the fourth chapter will include the extraction of the research results.

The Technical and Design Characteristics of Traditional Natural Lighting Methods in Islamic Architecture

Lighting is an important element to carry out life activities within architectural spaces. Every life activity depends on the level of lighting in the vacuum. This level varies according to the activities and the size of the interior space. The pursuit of lighting spaces in a way that is compatible with the functional and aesthetic dimensions in the interior Islamic design is one of the controversies worthy of research and study, as it is possible to establish patterns of lighting in the modern interior design follow the principles of lighting used in Islamic architecture, where patterns of natural and industrial lighting have both functional and aesthetic objectives. The importance of this research is to study the effect of traditional lighting patterns used in Islamic architecture on the lighting of internal spaces, and how to influence the formation and structure of modern and contemporary spaces by studying the impact of these patterns in controlling the quantity and efficiency of natural and industrial lighting in the vacuum through an analytical study of the performance of these patterns. The Golden Ratio in Classical Orders and Interior Design application mechanism

Many contemporary designs of interior design and architecture inspired by classical orders lack the standard basics and rules of this orders –especially the Golden Ratio – which resulted the appearance of designs which lack the values of classical aesthetic and visually distorted due to the absence of the accurate study of the determinates and values of the classical golden ratio. Study Significance: The study significance lay in it’s attempt to handle a factual problem in the field of scientific specialization which is the deformation of classical aesthetic ratio-especially the golden ratio – in the modern interior design works because of not analyzing their aesthetic value and standard ratio. Objectives: Determinate the aesthetic ratios of classical orders and it’s golden ratios and the mechanism of it’s application in interior design to be a reference to the designers in order to understand and evaluate classical aesthetic in the field of scientific specialization. Methodology: The research adopt the historical methodology through the study of the notion of golden ratio and the history of its emergence and application in classical architecture orders , in addition , the applied analytical descriptive methodology is adopted , as a through analysis is conducted to ratios and determinants of classical order and the application the study of the golden ratio in interior design. Results: The Golden Section is a known geometrical and mathematical ratio derived by the Greeks from the measurments of a harmonized ratios human body and the ratio exist between two numbers , spaces and sizes , as they used this ratio in all their designs which had a great effect in establishing aesthetic values of a design and which represented in the equilibrium and compatibility of all the pieces of the design and the choice of it’s ideal ratios , also it was applied later in many interior design and architecture designs, and this ratio is 1.61804. The Greek orders consists of three orders and they are: The Doric order – The Ionic order – The Corinthian order , each of these orders has it’s special ratios , thus designers discovered in them a source of inspiration and though which can be applied in designs through the ages for it’s aesthetic effect which characterized with agility and design accuracy of ratios. During classical ages , the determinants of inner space design spread generally in palaces and other buildings and they all based on the old classical order and the ratio of classical column , as the inner walls was divided into the same aesthetic ratios of classical order.

The article concerns the research of stylistic, artistic and compositional, constructive and decorative features of home textile elements (on an example of decorative pillows) in the context of a compositional balance development of modern interior. A complex of general scientific methods has been used. They include analytical methods for studying information sources; system-based structural ones for revealing the essence of home textile products, which contributed to the definition of its individual elements typology; complex historical method for studying the origins and process of forming decor objects; visual and analytical ones for the analysis of material and technical components of decorative pillows and cultural approach.

A Study on Point Light Application in Public Landscape Design

The Interior environment is inseparable from the expression of color, and the color requires the illumination of light to show its own effect. The beauty of modern interior design is largely reflected by lighting, so in a sense, lighting is the soul of interior design and decoration. In this paper, through the analysis of the placement of used items in the space and the analysis of the dynamic natural light activity, the design method of supplemental light source is adopted to dynamically adjust the spatial light distribution according to the environmental needs of livable life.
