State Public Scientific and Technological Library of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the scientific and information space of the East of Russia

The scientific libraries participate in building the information and communication infrastructure being an integral part of the scientific, educational,socio-cultural and industrial complex of the region. The authors review in brief the evolution of the State Public Scientific and Technological Library of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPSTL SB RAS) – the leading information and library center of Siberia in the context of changing scientific and educational environment.The Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, established in 1957, contributes to the active development of science in the east of the country. Implementing strategic objectives, among the priority measures the Branch heads laid the new system foundations of research information support, which met the demands of science development and the specific character of the institution activity within the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Big efforts to expand the network of libraries of research institutes were undertaken. The State Public Scientific Technological Library of the SB USSR AS, which began its activities in the region in 1958, was designed as the central library of the USSR SB AS (SB RAS). For 65 years, it has been providing information and methodological support for multidisciplinary research. The Library also acts as an institutional center in the library science, bibliography and bibliology, book history, and the largest library and information, cultural, educational, educational center, shaping the modern information, scientific, educational and cultural environment.

Использование цифровой образовательной среды в профессиональной деятельности педагога

The article is devoted to one of the important problems of the modern education system – the creation of a modern digital educational environment in educational organizations through the use of digital educational resources, which requires the teacher to have a set of professional competencies. Particular attention is paid to digital educational platforms that can be used to organize educational activities using distance learning technologies and e-learning.

The article examines the process of forming a value aspect in the professional training of a future foreign languages teacher. Key aspects of the influence of axiological elements on the professional development and personal identity of teachers are investigated. The article highlights practical methods of forming students’ value perceptions, in particular by implementing global and intercultural approaches. The article emphasizes the importance of conscious development of values in future teachers for their successful implementation in the modern educational environment. The role of pedagogical axiology in strengthening the interaction between the teacher and students through the implementation of practical tasks and situations aimed at the development of valuable competencies is analyzed. Special attention is paid to reflection and self-assessment as effective tools for students’ awareness and analysis of their own values. The article suggests that teachers use these methods to actively involve future foreign languages teachers in the process of forming personal and professional values, which will contribute to their successful teaching path in the global educational environment. It is noted that the valuable component of professional training of future foreign languages teacher is of strategic importance in the conditions of globalization and intercultural interaction. Students are invited to actively interact in real situations, which contributes to the formation of their skills in solving ethical problems and making important decisions based on their values. The article is aimed at practical recommendations for teachers of Universities who want to improve the process of forming a value component in future specialists in teaching foreign languages, developing their professional and personal aspects. In addition, the article discusses the importance of reflection and self-evaluation in the formation of the value component in professional training. Reflective sessions, where students analyze their values and discuss them with colleagues, contribute to awareness of their own approach to professional activity.

Exploring the Path and Strategies for Integrating Hubei Red Culture into Physical Education in Higher Vocational Colleges

This research study examined the level of cultural awareness among students from various academic backgrounds on Hubei Red Culture. Additionally, it evaluated the educational influence of incorporating Hubei Red Culture into modern educational environments. The findings indicated a modest degree of cultural awareness among students, with significant differences observed in relation to gender, field of study, and school affiliation. This highlights the need for tailored interventions to address these gaps in awareness and foster cultural diversity. In addition, the study found that the integration of Hubei Red Culture had a generally positive impact on students' cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and social learning aspects. However, there were challenges related to political sensitivity, resource accessibility, ideological balance, and relevance to a diverse audience. In order to fully address these findings, a program was suggested to improve cultural education, interdisciplinary learning, educator empowerment, and cultural awareness. The success of this program would be measured by increased cultural awareness, enhanced educational experiences, and improved inclusivity in the educational setting.

PECULIARITIES OF OPTIMIZATION OF TEACHING MATHEMATICS TO STUDENTS OF ECONOMIC SPECIALTIES IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

In the article, the author studies the peculiarities of optimizing the teaching of mathematics to students of economic specialties in higher education institutions. It has been found that teaching mathematics to students of economic specialties is accompanied by a number of problems, in particular, the subject area, the peculiarities of the modern educational environment and the social context. Some students do not show sufficient interest and do not realize the importance of mathematics in professional activities. Low motivation leads to the lack of concentration in the classroom and worsening the outcomes. The quality of mathematics education is negatively affected by the lack of a sufficient level of students’ basic mathematical knowledge. They may not understand real economic scenarios of future professional activities and have difficulty using mathematical concepts to model and analyze real economic situations. Some mathematical concepts and categories, such as differential equations or statistics, can be difficult to understand and apply in the context of complex economic models.Optimization of teaching means bringing this process to a state that ensures the achievement of goals in accordance with the requirements for the content and level of professional training of students, taking into account their interests and capabilities in conditions of limited use of time and effort resources. The main ways to optimize mathematics teaching are: use of specific economic examples and tasks to explain mathematical concepts, because learning can be more effective if students see how they can use mathematics in their future economic activities; integrating teaching with economic models and mathematical concepts so that students can see the use of math in analyzing economic phenomena; use of computer and specialized programs for visualization of mathematical concepts and their use in economic issues; introduction of interactive online resources to facilitate the learning process; active use of applied tasks, inclusion in the curriculum of tasks that require the use of math skills to solve specific economic problems, etc.

IMPLEMENTATION OF STEM EDUCATION IN THE PROCESS OF PROFESSIONALTRAINING OF FUTURE TEACHERS

The article is devoted to the topical issue of introducing STEM-education into the process of professional training of future teachers. The introduction substantiates the relevance of the research related to the needs of information society for specialists who possess STEM-competencies. The problem statement lies in defining effective strategies, methods, and practices for integrating STEM-approaches into pedagogical education, as well as evaluating their impact on training future teachers for modern educational environments. The analysis of recent research provides insights into the theoretical foundations of STEM-education and the experiences of implementing STEM-approaches in education both in Ukraine and abroad. The theoretical framework of the study is grounded in the works of domestic and international scholars in STEM-education, pedagogy, and psychology. The research results reveal effective strategies, methods, and practices for implementing STEM-approaches in pedagogical education and assess their influence on the formation of STEM-competencies in future teachers. The conclusions summarize the research findings and outline prospects for further research in this field. The article underscores the importance of implementing STEM-education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in the training process of future teachers. The authors justify the necessity of integrating STEM-competencies into pedagogical practice in light of contemporary educational demands and the job market. They analyze approaches to integrating STEM-education into teacher training programs and highlight methods and tools that facilitate effective preparation of educational professionals with a STEM-component in mind. Furthermore, the article examines the challenges and prospects of implementing STEM-education in higher pedagogical education and provides recommendations for further research and development in this field. The conclusions of the article contribute to understanding and developing strategies for implementing STEM-education in the training of future educators with the aim of enhancing their competitiveness in the modern job market.

Educators’ Resilience Amidst Digital Era Challenges: Case Study in Indonesia

This study aims to explore the coping mechanisms and resilience strategies employed by educators in response to the multifarious challenges posed by the digital era in Indonesia. The research objective centers on identifying and analyzing the various adaptive measures educators implement to maintain efficacy and well-being amidst the evolving educational landscape. A qualitative approach with case study research method was employed, focusing on a diverse group of ten educators, each facing distinct challenges. These informants were selected to provide a broad perspective on the resilience strategies utilized in various educational contexts. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participative observation, and document study ensuring a rich and nuanced understanding of the educators' experiences. The analysis was conducted using a thematic approach, identifying recurring patterns and strategies across the informants' narratives. The research findings underscore the complexity of educators' resilience in the digital era. It reveals that educators' resilience is multifaceted, extending beyond mere technological adaptation. It encompasses a blend of emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, and continuous learning, all of which are crucial in navigating the intricacies of modern educational environments. The study sheds light on the indispensable role of resilience and adaptability for educators in the digital age, providing valuable insights for educational institutions aiming to support their staff effectively.

Assessment of Scholarly Attainment in Student Academic Performance

This study delves into the intricate relationship between scholarly attainment and student academic performance within modern educational environments. Drawing upon a robust analysis of existing literature and empirical data, the research seeks to establish a nuanced and comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted factors that contribute to students' scholarly achievements. The study adopts a mixed-method approach, strategically blending quantitative analyses with qualitative inquiries to explore various dimensions of scholarly attainment, including but not limited to critical thinking abilities, research skills, and proficiency in academic writing. By employing this comprehensive methodology, the research aims to unravel the intricacies of how different educational practices and interventions impact students' scholarly development. Through meticulous examination and interpretation of data, the study endeavours to uncover patterns, trends, and correlations that shed light on the dynamics between scholarly attainment and academic performance. Development of creative skills of future specialists in higher polytechnic colleges of the People's Republic of China

A modern educational environment demands technical students to have well-developed creative skills. The study emphasizes the relevance of developing and implementing an educational programme aimed at fostering the creative abilities of students in technical disciplines within higher polytechnic colleges in the People's Republic of China (PRC). The scholars applied a randomized method for the experimental and control groups. The research sample consisted of 212 students enrolled in the Department [BLINDED], [BLINDED] College (Pingdingshan, China). Before the experiment, all participants had an inadequate level of verbal and non-verbal creativity skills. The experimental group followed a six-month creativity training once a week, while the control group learned the standard curriculum. The scholars used the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking to assess the creative skills of students. The results revealed a statistically significant increase in the average creativity scores among students who completed the training. These results highlight the importance of developing creative skills in future engineers and technical professionals in China and confirm the effectiveness of the proposed training. The practical application of this training approach helps educators improve the quality of education and train highly qualified specialists in technical industries.

Ways to develop soft skills in pre-service mathematics and physics teachers when studying certain topics of olympiad mathematics

The development of soft skills in pre-service teachers helps to improve the quality of teaching, create a positive classroom environment and ensure an individualized approach to learning. The integration of soft skills, in particular flexibility and adaptability to change, helps teachers to respond effectively to new teaching methods, technological innovations and the requirements of the modern educational environment. The authors of this article aimed to investigate the possibilities of developing soft skills within the educational components of the training programme for pre-service mathematics and physics teachers. The methodological basis of the study was the analysis of scientific literature, synthesis, formalization of scientific sources, description, comparison, and theoretical generalization of own pedagogical experience of teaching the course “Olympiad Mathematics”. The results of the study reveal some ways of developing soft skills of future masters of secondary education of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko in the process of studying the course “Olympiad Mathematics”. At the same time, among the various topics of the course, the topic “Proof of Inequalities” was singled out. The peculiarities of applying the following methods and techniques to the proof of inequalities in the context of development of soft skills are revealed: the method of strengthening (weakening) of inequality, the method of mathematical induction, the Malikov's method, the method of transforming the common term in sums and its evaluation, the method of evaluating the terms of the product and introducing an additional factor, the method of applying the properties of functions to the proof of inequalities, the method of using the properties of the definite integral of a certain function on a segment. It has been found that the most common methods of proving inequalities have wide possibilities in the context of development of soft skills. Each of the methods of proving inequalities discussed in the article is illustrated by relevant examples with detailed explanations. It is proved that this topic opens up wide opportunities for the acquisition and development of a number of soft skills. The research allows identifying specific ways to improve soft skills in pre-service mathematics and physics teachers, which are practically significant for further development of these professions when studying specific topics of the “Olympiad Mathematics” course: using group work formats during seminars, problem-based learning in mathematics, applying digital technologies in the study of Olympiad Mathematics, self-analysis and reflection, using mentoring support technology, public speaking during seminars with presentations of own solutions

PEDAGOGICAL MECHANISMS OF FORMATION OF PHYSICAL QUALITIES OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

The article "Pedagogical mechanisms for the formation of physical qualities of high school students" examines the organization of the educational process in order to effectively form physical qualities in high school students. The authors analyze the current challenges facing the education system and propose pedagogical mechanisms that contribute to the optimal development of physical characteristics of adolescents. The article discusses methods and techniques aimed at stimulating interest in physical education, as well as practical aspects of the organization of the training process. Special attention is paid to the individualization of approaches to students, taking into account their physical abilities, as well as intra-and extracurricular control and motivation mechanisms. The results of the study provide valuable recommendations for teachers and administrators of educational institutions aimed at improving the effectiveness of the process of forming the physical qualities of high school students in a modern educational environment.

Virtual Versus Reality: A Look into the Effects of Discussion Platforms on Speaking Course Achievements in Gather.town

The fusion of education with the digital world is still a developing and crucial phenomenon, especially in light of the growth of metaverse applications and the lingering effects of pandemic-induced educational changes. Learning about the efficacy of platforms like Gather.town becomes increasingly important in this situation. This study explores the changing educational environment, focusing on the widely used technique of small group discussions. Our main goal is to compare the effects of such group discussions in real classrooms against the online setting made possible by websites like Gather.town, especially regarding academic performance. We assessed two separate groups of students using a highly controlled experimental method. One group engaged in traditional, face-to-face small group discussions, while the other participated in discussions within the virtual realm of Gather.town. Our research produced notable results, showing a significant difference in academic achievement between the two modes of interaction. Unexpectedly, the online environment displayed higher standards of academic success. These findings highlight the potential effectiveness of digital platforms in educational initiatives. While conventional, face-to-face dialogues still have significance, incorporating digital technologies could result in equal or better educational outcomes. In essence, this research offers insightful viewpoints to the continuing discussion concerning hybridized learning strategies in the modern educational environment. By highlighting the part played by digital platforms in influencing pedagogical practices, it highlights the potential for such approaches to benefit the future of education.

СИСТЕМА АКТУАЛЬНИХ ПРОФЕСІЙНИХ І ЖИТТЄВИХ НАВИЧОК ВЧИТЕЛЯ ПОЧАТКОВИХ КЛАСІВ

The article based on the analysis of modern societal demands, was found that the labor market today requires not so much a specialist to have a diploma, but with the certain set of life skills. Scientists from different countries claim that the skills necessary for successful life in the 21st century are formed at an early age, so the primary education system faces a significant task. In the system of 21st century skills, the main ones are defined as higher level cognitive skills, hard and soft skills, digital skills and survival skills. The author of the article proves that in order to form a certain set of life skills of the 21st century in pupils, primary school teachers themselves must possess a system of relevant professional and life skills. The author determined what professional and life skills Ukrainian primary school teachers should have in order to prepare pupils for successful life in the changing and unpredictable conditions. The article considers the system of key professional and life skills that are necessary for the work of a primary school teacher. The author analyzes modern requirements for pedagogical activity and pedagogical competence, in the context of the requirements of the modern educational environment. The main skills, namely the formation of the competence of the elementary school teacher, including the development of creativity, the ability to work in a team, adapt to changes in the field of education and effectively interact with students and their parents, are proposed for consideration in the article. A generalized system of skills is presented and can help primary school teachers effectively fulfill their professional mission and promote the harmonious development of the pupils' personality in primary school. The research points to the importance of developing a set of skills that include not only pedagogical professionalism, but also adaptation to modern requirements of the socio-cultural environment and improvement of the teacher's communicative, technological, and organizational skills

Augmented Educational Reality: Integrating AR Technologies into the Future Learning Process

In today's educational landscape, augmented reality opens up new perspectives for transforming learning approaches. The integration of augmented reality through AR technologies into the future educational process is defined not only as a technological step forward but also as a step towards innovative, more effective learning adapted to the needs of the modern world. The integration of augmented reality technologies into the educational process contributes to the improvement of teaching methods, providing interactive and immersive learning environments. This, first and foremost, enhances the motivation of education seekers, fosters creativity, and improves the quality of education in educational institutions. The purpose of this study is to analyse and systematise the features of integrating AR technologies into the future educational process and identify trends in their further development. The following research methods were used: analysis, synthesis, and systematisation of literary sources; inductive method. Data from various sources were summarised, classified, and analysed to identify trends in the further integration of AR technologies in education. The results of the study confirmed the wide range of opportunities that open up as a result of the use and integration of AR technologies into the future educational process. The analysis showed both the advantages and disadvantages of using AR technologies, highlighting the potential of these technologies. The study revealed the current state of integration of AR technologies into educational processes. The current trends that determine the directions of further integration of AR technologies in the future educational process are highlighted, paying attention to the key aspects of the development of these technologies in the modern educational environment. The conclusions emphasise the importance of integrating AR technologies into the future educational process, which opens up a wide range of opportunities for improving the quality of education. The need for further research and improvement of these technologies to ensure their effectiveness and accessibility in the educational sphere is emphasised. In further research, it is important to investigate in more depth the impact of AR technologies on the learning process of different age and educational groups. Also, studying the optimal methods of implementing AR technologies and their impact on the formation of the learning environment is a key area for future research.

FORMATION OF INFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGICAL COMPETENCE OF FUTURE COMPUTER SCIENCE TEACHERS IN THE PROCESS OF PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

The article examines the problem of developing information and technological competence of future computer science teachers in the context of modern challenges of society and in the process of their professional training. It is stated that the modernization of higher pedagogical education requires changing the requirements for the professional activities of teachers through the important direction of modernizing the new Ukrainian school of informatization because the introduction of computer technologies into the school work system requires professional information technology competence among teaching staff and, in particular, computer science teachers, which actualizes the problem of professional information technology training of computer science teachers in the context of transformational changes in modern higher pedagogical education. The pedagogical conditions that ensure the effective formation of information and technological competence of a future computer science teacher are substantiated. They include the focus of the content of the theory and practice of training future computer science teachers on the formation of motivation for such a process; creation of a modern educational and information environment based on traditional and innovative forms and methods of conducting classes, extracurricular activities and independent work. The professional information technology competence of a future computer science teacher is understood as their ability (readiness) to solve professional information technology problems; the totality of these tasks is determined by modern directions of professional information and technological activity of a modern computer science teacher. It is noted that the information and technological competence of a modern computer science teacher presupposes the ability to solve the following professional tasks: professional tasks in the field of pedagogical management (tasks of an organizational, administrative, communication, and gnostic nature), determined by information technology activities within the school information space; professional basic pedagogical tasks determined by information and technological activities related to the organization of education for general school students using computer technologies; professional tasks associated with teaching information technology and computer science to secondary school students, as well as with the implementation of the information technology activity of a computer science teacher, determined by new state educational standards. It is concluded that the information and technological competence of a computer science teacher determines their ability to solve professional problems in situations of direct teaching activity and presupposes the presence of didactic knowledge and skills to effectively use modern technical means and computer technologies to achieve the goals of secondary school education, in particular, variable use of working methods with electronic sources of information when solving problems of professional growth; independent study of new software products, determining the feasibility of their use in solving problems of professional growth; comprehensive interaction with Internet services and resources to implement professional development; implementation of information retrieval; use of Internet resources in self-educational activities; variable use of standard software for recording the results of self-educational activities

Strategies for developing critical thinking and problem-based learning in the modern educational environment

Ensuring the development of critical thinking stands as an essential factor in shaping students’ professional and educational growth, fostering improved learning quality, better assimilation of educational material, and the application of knowledge in practical settings. Within the research framework, a significant focus lies on formulating strategies for nurturing critical thinking. In the realm of pedagogical activities, this necessitates preparing, planning, and adapting strategies in line with the specific requirements of the educational audience. The primary objective of this academic paper is to explore current strategies, particularly those widely employed in advanced countries, aimed at enhancing students’ cognitive and analytical capacities. An integral part of this exploration involves analyzing the utilization of the problem-based learning method as a catalyst for achieving heightened levels of critical thinking and analytical agility. This scientific article delineates the core theoretical components of the critical thinking concept, revealing diverse approaches to critical thinking strategies. Furthermore, it offers recommendations on integrating these strategies into the educational process, aligning them with established pedagogical methodologies. The investigation encompasses an examination of the practices in developed countries that stimulate critical thinking and the means employed to achieve this objective. The research findings underscore the imperative nature of fostering students’ critical thinking within the educational environment, especially considering the escalating demand for technological advancements. Drawing upon a theoretical exploration of contemporary scholars and practical accomplishments of educational institutions, this academic paper aims to ensure and enhance the quality of critical thinking. Consequently, these findings serve as a foundational resource for devising future strategies, illustrating effective methods for cultivating students’ cognitive capabilities.

Application of an innovative approach to the organization of the educational process in higher education and training of applicants 073 and 281 specialties in the conditions of distance education

The study proved and substantiated the importance of innovative approaches and digitalization in the organization of the educational process of higher education. It has been found that the introduction of innovative approaches is a strategically key factor for achieving a high level of quality and efficiency of educational services. In particular, innovative technologies and digitalization allow universities to adapt to modern requirements and create flexible and accessible learning environments. 
 During the study, an analysis of differences in the interpretation of the concepts of «threat» and «risk» was conducted. In particular, it is determined that in education threats and risks can include not only financial difficulties, but also loss of reputation, low quality of education and insufficient competitiveness of graduates. It identifies the main range of problematic issues, sets of innovative approaches in higher education and highlights the principles and stages of diagnosis, which should take into account the specifics of the educational environment and the requirements of the modern labor market for its qualitative assessment. 
 In order to test the research, the article assesses and analyzes the introduction of innovative approaches in the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University for the training of applicants 073 and 281 in the field of distance education. The strategic goals chosen to accelerate the digitalization process have been singled out and justified, considering the high standards of quality and the needs of the modern educational environment. The introduction of a digital student card, the creation of a digital educational environment and an increase in the level of digital literacy of students and teaching staff are key areas of the strategy of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University. In addition, innovative approaches have been developed, such as partnerships with technology companies, the creation of electronic libraries and archives aimed at supporting research activities and quality education in distance learning. 
 It provides a SWOT analysis of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University which highlights the main strengths and weaknesses of its functioning, as well as identifies the opportunities and threats faced by the university today in the most difficult conditions of existence. The conducted analysis allows us to draw conclusions and determine the prospects for further research in this direction. 
 In general, the study emphasizes the importance of innovation and digitalization in education as strategic factors contributing to improving the quality, efficiency, and competitiveness of educational institutions in the modern world. 
 The obtained results help to determine the optimal way to achieve the set goals, and their certification with certificates testifies to the importance and effectiveness of the chosen direction of innovative activity at Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University in the face of high requirements for remote educational process.

Global trends in educational environment design: From cultural dimensions to innovations

This study aimed to examine global trends in educational environment design, concentrating on the shift from cultural dimensions to innovative strategies. The goal was to provide a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing the evolution of learning spaces. Our research methodology focused on a multi-case study approach, evaluating outstanding educational environments from various cultural and geographical backgrounds. Architectural blueprints and design documents were analyzed to gain insights into the creative processes behind these designs. Furthermore, we conducted a comparative analysis of international best practices in educational space design, emphasizing the role of culture and innovation in molding contemporary educational settings. This approach facilitated a detailed exploration of the key trends and their impact on learning experiences. The analysis revealed that integrating cultural dimensions and innovative systems in educational environment design results in flexible, inclusive, and adaptive learning spaces. The study also highlighted a growing focus on technology, collaboration, and sustainable design principles in shaping modern educational environments, mirroring the evolving needs of students and educators. These findings have substantial implications for educators, policymakers, and designers, as they underscore the importance of considering cultural dimensions and innovative methods when developing educational environments. By integrating these elements, academic institutions can create learning spaces that nurture creativity, collaboration, and personalization, ultimately enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes.

Personality development of the future teacher through the formation of stem competences

The article reveals the specifics of training future teachers for educational activities through the formation of STEM competencies. The article deals with the topical issue of personality development of the future teacher using the STEM approach to the education process. The article examines the influence of the formation of STEM competences on the professional readiness of teachers for modern challenges.
