An “Earthly” Manifestation of Power: The Architectural and Urban Contexts of Iznik Tiles Produced under the Patronage of the Ottoman Palace

ABSTRACT Çini-making, which is an Ottoman underglaze ceramics tradition included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, was used extensively in the monumental architecture of the Ottoman Empire in the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries, including mosques built by the Ottoman sultans and their family members. Iznik tiles reveal undeciphered relationships between Ottoman patronage and monumental architecture, and unwritten architectural rules and norms concerning tile designs. To contribute to the conservation, interpretation, and presentation of the mosque spaces, it is important to understand the tangible and intangible cultural qualities of Iznik tiles. This study examines the cultural qualities of Iznik tiles by analysing the historical and architectural qualities of the five selected sultanic mosques and by integrating the literature and field surveys through Geographic Information Systems (GIS) modelling and database. We aim to analyse and develop an evaluation model to investigate the cultural qualities of Iznik tiles on regional, urban, and architectural scales using GIS.

Locustamigratoria (L.) (Orthoptera) in a warming world: unravelling the ecological consequences of climate change using GIS.

The migratory locust, Locustamigratoria (L.), a significant grasshopper species known for its ability to form large swarms and cause extensive damage to crops and vegetation, is subject to the influence of climate change. This research paper employs geographic information system (GIS) and MaxEnt ecological modelling techniques to assess the impact of climate change on the distribution patterns of L.migratoria. Occurrence data and environmental variables are collected and analysed to create predictive models for the current and future distribution of the species. The study highlights the crucial role of climate factors, particularly temperature and precipitation, in determining the locust's distribution. The MaxEnt models exhibit high-performance indicators, accurately predicting the potential habitat suitability of L.migratoria. Additionally, specific bioclimatic variables, such as mean temperature and annual precipitation, are identified as significant factors influencing the species' presence. The generated future maps indicate how this species will invade new regions especially in Europe. Such results predict the risk of this destructive species for many agriculture communities as a direct result of a warming world. The research provides valuable insights into the complex relationship between locust distribution and environmental factors, enabling the development of effective strategies for locust management and early warning systems to mitigate the impact on agriculture and ecosystems.

INVESTIGATION OF THE PROCESSES OF ECOLOGICAL AND ECOSYSTEM CHANGES IN WATER BODIES USING UAV DATA

In recent years, the water landscapes of inland rivers have been subjected to significant an- thropogenic impacts exceeding the limits of their self-healing ability. Traditional methods of monitoring ge- oecological parameters - sampling of water in the field with subsequent laboratory analysis - require signif- icant financial and time costs. Traditional methods allow assessing the ecological state of the entire water- course not spatially, but pointwise. In this research, sensors on board the UAV measured solar radiation reflected from the surface of the water and used image data from different camera ranges. The combina- tion of images used was based on a common methodology for identifying key features, and a geographic information system (GIS) modelling approach was used for spatially analyze the distribution and interaction of environmental features. In addition, research the ecological condition of the Yertis River and the quality of water discharged after the municipal wastewater treatment facilities of Ust-Kamenogorsk city into the Yertis River, the data from the DJI Phantom 4 RTK/multispectral drone was processed and the normalized vegetation index NDVI, normalised water level difference index NDWI, water chromaticness index CI, tur- bidity index NDTI and chlorophyll concentration index "a" were calculated. The results obtained can serve as a basis for scientific analysis of the environmental conditions of the researching area, including for learning the processes of eutrophication and other changes in the environment.

In this work is considered information systems: its structure and influencing factors of the external environment that allows to describe its simulation means. Elements for the description of similar systems are algebraic differential equations, Markov chains or similar of the Research objective consists in forming of conditions of carrying out a natural experiment not on the studied system, and on some other (with the known distribution parameters of the studied random variable, for example, of the distribution law), rather “similar” to given and such which experimental functioning will not lead to a little notable costs. Research methods. At simulation of processes of Markov the difficulties connected with need of input in memory of the machine of stochastic matrixes of infinite dimension very often meet. It is actually very difficult to present an infinite stochastic matrix in which all elements are selected “purely accidentally”, i.e. without any patterns. In practice there are always only such matrixes in which, since some line, a certain pattern in formation of elements is shown. The solution of the specified problem is based on this property. Results. The algorithm of finding of a random variable consists in the choice of that from expressions which at this value is true. Then the following implementation is on the formula corresponding to the selected expression. If at the same time the selected formula contains a random variable, then by means of already known receptions there is implementation of this random variable and is substituted in it. To be convinced of correctness of the offered algorithm and to understand reasons on the basis of which expressions are constructed it is enough to substitute all possible values of random variables and to compare result to received by means of a matrix. The considered logical reception is applicable also at simulation of behavior of the objects, more difficult, than a Markov chain. Its use in more difficult situations – a component of the idea of automatic modeling of information systems. Conclusion. The algorithms of forming of pseudorandom numbers received in work for simulation of components of an information system are rather adequate, however their efficiency is defined by the relation of a part of the square of a rectangle located under a curve to all its area. If this relation is not enough, then a considerable part of machine time is spent for unproductive receiving the accidental points lying under a curve and discarded in the course of calculations. From here follows, in particular, that for exponential distribution the specified method least, and for uniform is most effective. In practice it is reasonable to use such method when the specified relation exceeds value 0.3. In certain cases it can be applied and when this relation more than 0.1.

Correctness Notions for Petri Nets with Identifiers

A model of an information system describes its processes and how resources are involved in these processes to manipulate data objects. This paper presents an extension to the Petri nets formalism suitable for describing information systems in which states refer to object instances of predefined types and resources are identified as instances of special object types. Several correctness criteria for resource- and object-aware information systems models are proposed, supplemented with discussions on their decidability for interesting classes of systems. These new correctness criteria can be seen as generalizations of the classical soundness property of workflow models concerned with process control flow correctness.

Can routine antenatal data be used to assess HIV antiretroviral therapy coverage among pregnant women? Evaluating the validity of different data sources in the Western Cape, South Africa.

Accurate measurement of antenatal antiretroviral treatment (ART) coverage in pregnancy is imperative in tracking progress towards elimination of vertical HIV transmission. In the Western Cape, South Africa, public-sector individual-level routine data are consolidated from multiple sources, enabling the description of temporal changes in population-wide antenatal antiretroviral coverage. We evaluated the validity of different methods for measuring ART coverage among pregnant women. We compared self-reported ART data from a 2014 antenatal survey with laboratory assay data from a sub-sample within the survey population. Thereafter, we conducted a retrospective cohort analysis of all pregnancies consolidated in the Provincial Health Data Centre (PHDC) from January 2011 to December 2020. Evidence of antenatal and HIV care from electronic platforms were linked using a unique patient identifier. ART coverage estimates were triangulated with available antenatal survey estimates, aggregated programmatic data from registers recorded in the District Health Information System (DHIS) and Thembisa modelling estimates. Self-reported ART in the 2014 sentinel antenatal survey (n = 1434) had high sensitivity (83.5%), specificity (94.5%) and agreement (k = 0.8) with the gold standard of laboratory analysis of ART. Based on linked routine data, ART coverage by the time of delivery in mothers of live births increased from 67.4% in 2011 to 94.7% by 2019. This pattern of increasing antenatal ART coverage was also seen in the DHIS data, and estimated by the Thembisa model, but was less consistent in the antenatal survey data. This study is the first in a high-burden HIV setting to compare sentinel ART surveillance data with consolidated individuated administrative data. Although self-report in survey conditions showed high validity, more recent data sources based on self-report and medical records may be uncertain with increasing ART coverage over time. Linked individuated data may offer a promising option for ART coverage estimation with greater granularity and efficiency.

Explicating Trust-building Factors Impacting the Use of e-government Services

This study investigates the users’ perception of trust-building factors influencing the use of e-government services and information, by integrating constructs identified in the technology acceptance model (TAM) with information systems (IS) success and trust models. Data was collected using a questionnaire targeted towards users of e-government services in Kuwait. The partial least squares structural equation modeling method was used to analyze 717 valid questionnaire responses. The results indicate that information quality and design (IQD) and perceived ease of use (PEU) influence individuals’ trust in e-government (TEG), thereby affecting their behavioral intentions (BI). Furthermore, the results indicate an average level of the users’ satisfaction and significant differences in how gender and nationality are associated with the overall satisfaction of e-government services users. The proposed framework contributes to extending models by integrating IQD (a modified construct of the IS model) and PEU (a construct of the TAM) as trust-related factors that provide better insights into the driving forces of BI and should be considered when designing and developing e-government services. Additionally, the study provides a deeper understanding of the challenges that could hinder the use of e-government systems.

This work is devoted to the description and modeling of information systems of the subject area, as well as technologies that were used for project implementation. The article discusses methods from the point of view of project effectiveness, moving from the general to the details, separating and decomposing functions as necessary. Particular attention is paid to peer-to-peer networks, since their main purpose is to share resources and ensure collaboration between devices to perform certain tasks, which is required by the specifics of the physical side. The result of the work was the physical structure of the application with the totality of all the files that are located in the root directory of the project.

Socio-spatial Inequities of Fire and Rescue Services in Sweden: An Analysis of Real and Estimated Response Times

Lowering the response times of fire and rescue services (FRS) can reduce costs and the risk of fatalities in emergencies. Ensuring everyone can be reached by the FRS as quickly as possible is therefore a key objective for planners, who often rely on estimated response times to know where response times are long. To be reliable, such estimations need to be validated against real response times. Therefore, this study investigates the spatial patterns of FRS in Sweden in 2018, and compares how estimated and real response times correspond, as well as what factors explain under- or overestimation of the real times. Network analysis performed in a Geographical Information System (GIS) and regression modelling underpin the methodology. In most FRS events (81.3%), estimated response times are shorter than real response times with an average of 83.6 s. Both real and estimated response times are highest in rural municipalities. However, on average, underestimations are larger in urban municipalities. Response times also tend to be underestimated in municipalities with formalized cooperation agreements. Joint organization of FRS resources is thus not necessarily an effective way to reduce response times, with implications for the way FRS is delivered. This study highlights the heterogeneous spatial patterns of difference between estimated and real response times, and shows the importance of being event and area specific when planning the FRS system.

Hybrid information systems modeling technology for business process analysis based on the internet of things

This article examines the impact of Internet of Things (IoT) data integration and hybrid information systems modeling on business process analysis. The study aims to confirm the assumption that such integration increases the accuracy and efficiency of the analysis.The review part emphasizes the importance of analyzing business processes for successful existence in a rapidly changing and competitive business environment. The main focus is on the use of IoT and modeling of information systems to improve the productivity of the organization.The methodological part describes the research approach: collection and analysis of empirical data in comparison with scientific literature. The integration of real-time IoT data with information systems modeling is the basis of the research approach.The results of the work confirm the initial assumption, revealing the significant impact of the integration of IoT data and modeling of information systems on the analysis of business processes. This allows organizations to achieve greater operational efficiency, optimize resources and make informed decisions.The practical value of the hybrid approach is emphasized for organizations wishing to improve the analysis of their business processes. Integration of IoT and modeling of information systems helps to optimize processes and increase overall productivity.The work confirms the importance and usefulness of using a hybrid approach in the analysis of business processes based on IoT, highlighting the advantages of integrating IoT data and modeling information systems. The hybrid approach has the potential to improve business processes and achieve success in today's competitive environment.

By using Waterfall Process Model method, all the system details that have been running and the system that will be proposed will be arranged and implemented to optimize the promotion and sales of existing products at Victory Collection. The Waterfall Process approach or method is a systematic and sequential systematic development model that starts at the level and progress of the system in all stages such as analysis, design, code, testing, and maintenance. Investigating the role of utilitarian and hedonic goals in characterizing customer loyalty in E-marketplaces

Despite significant growth in sales in recent years, retaining customers remains a major challenge for the electronic marketplace (e-marketplace) industry worldwide, including Indonesia. The small basket size of Indonesian customers has created a highly price-sensitive market, making it difficult to nurture customer loyalty. This study investigates the factors affecting consumer behavior and loyalty in Indonesian e-marketplaces by employing a newly proposed E-Marketplace Customer Loyalty Model. Since customers' expectations have extended from mostly utilitarian-oriented goals to incorporate hedonic goals, the proposed model includes both utilitarian and hedonic-based constructs by integrating the Expectation-Confirmation Theory, e-service quality, and the Hedonic Information Systems Model. The proposed model was tested using a comparative approach of machine learning classification algorithms and partial least square, aiming to create a more robust model. The PLS analytical results of ECLM hiearchical component model from 678 customers show that the fulfillment of hedonic values via perceived enjoyment has a greater impact on customer satisfaction than utilitarian values of perceived service quality. Perceived enjoyment, personalization, and customer satisfaction positively affect customer loyalty. The classification results provide further evidence for all hypothesized relationships of the ECLM. The Sequential Minimal Optimization (SMO) algorithm has demonstrated superior performance compared with other classifiers in predicting the dependent variable in most cases. Based on findings, this study offers theoretical and practical implications, and recommendations for sustainable loyalty programs in e-marketplaces.

Application of Pseudo-Random Numbers in System Design

The purpose of the article is to study and search for optimal strategies for modelling information systems using pseudo-random numbers to improve the performance of information systems and to determine the optimal parameters of random number distributions; to analyze efficient algorithms for generating pseudo-random numbers. The research methods are based on the application of a systematic approach to analyzing the benefits of using pseudorandom numbers in the design of information systems. Scientific novelty. The article analyses the advantages of stochastic modelling of information systems using different approaches to generating pseudorandom numbers, and for the first time considers the application of a random decision tree forest for modelling queuing systems. Conclusions. The application of pseudorandom numbers in system design is an urgent problem that requires further research and development of methods. The design of efficient algorithms for generating, validating, and using pseudorandom values plays an essential role in many fields of science and technology. This approach allows for optimization and planning in the process of designing the system and is essential for validating and testing the system. By generating random variables, you can create different test scenarios and check how the system reacts to various conditions, which helps to identify potential errors, flaws, and problems in the system and ensures the quality of the design. Thus, the use of pseudo-random numbers in system design allows for randomness, risk analysis, optimization and planning, validation, and testing. This is an important aspect of system development that helps to ensure their reliability, performance, and efficiency.

Searching for Situational Patterns in Cannabis Dealing, Possession and Use in a Scandinavian Context

Although cannabis is the most frequent illicit drug consumed in Sweden, little is known about the situations in which cannabis trade, possession and use occur. Following a recent strand of international research on the effect of recreational drugs on crime, this study uses a unique specially tailored database, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and regression models, to investigate the situational conditions of cannabis offenses as they are detected in Stockholm, Sweden. Cannabis coincides with the location of drug markets initially delimited by the police but also extends over to locations far from the radar of the police, such as private residences (comfort places). Modeling results indicate that several land uses (convergent public places) have significant predictive value of the geography of cannabis offenses after controlling for other neighborhood characteristics. The article finishes by stating new research questions and making recommendations for practice.

Soundness-preserving composition of synchronously and asynchronously interacting workflow net components

In this paper, we propose a compositional approach to constructing correct formal models of information systems from correct models of interacting components. Component behavior is represented using workflow nets — a class of Petri nets. Interactions among components are encoded in an additional interface net. The proposed approach is used to model and compose synchronously and asynchronously interacting workflow nets. Using Petri net morphisms and their properties, we prove that the composition of interacting workflow nets preserves the correctness of components and of an interface.

Hierarchical Structure Objects Information Systems Decision Support Developing Process

Application of methods for designing decision support information systems for hierarchical systems is considered. Determining the interaction parameters of methods for designing decision support information systems for managing hierarchical production and technical systems is an urgent scientific problem, the which solution makes a significant contribution to the development of technologies for designing decision support systems. The process of operation of a decision support system for the analysis of hierarchies using the full graphical interface technology, a functional model of an expert information system for the analysis of hierarchical structures is presented. Hierarchical production and technical systems are complex, which entails great complexity in the development of decision support information systems to manage them. This complexity creates the problem of 'crisis' in the development of such systems for hierarchical production and technical systems. Despite many advantages and a long history of successfully applying the unified design method to the development of information systems, it does not completely overcome the problem of this crisis. To overcome this problem for hierarchical production and technical systems, it is proposed to modify the unified design method and use the synergistic effect from the combined use of structural, object and visual modelling methods in the form of a new design method - a modified system design process. The article presents the scheme and algorithm of the proposed method, the results of the analysis of its application. The possibility of its application to systems with a hierarchical structure is established. Unlike traditional models of information systems, the decision support information system model built according to the new method successfully integrates various subject areas of knowledge due to its visibility and support for object-oriented design technologies, which allows it to be effectively used to create an expert information system model for complex technical systems.

Legal aspects of electronic document management in telemedicine

In the article from the standpoint of the theory of administrative and information law, based on the current legislation and regulatory requirements of the European Union, the theoretical and practical aspects of electronic document flow in telemedicine are considered. The topicality of the topic determined by the need to improve the legislation with the aim of comprehensive theoretical justification of increasing the effectiveness of telemedicine activities in the conditions of digital transformation of Ukraine. In the course of the study, the methodology of a systematic complex analysis of legal phenomena was applied using factorial and evolutionary methods of research. It is indicated that in the countries of the European Union, three main models of health care information systems have been formed, which differ in the ways of storing medical information and management: decentralized, centralized and patient-oriented. It was noted that the main legal issues of the renewal of the medical system of Ukraine and the directions of activity in the conditions of reform include telemedicine, and its component - electronic document flow. The essence and features of electronic document management in telemedicine in the countries of the European Union have been clarified. The electronic health care systems of individual countries of the European Union considered, attention is paid to the experience of use. The state of legal provision of information security in telemedicine with regard to electronic document flow studied, taking into account the experience of the countries of the European Union. The analysis of ensuring information security in the context of personal data in the medical systems of European countries and Ukraine was carried out. The further vector and direction of the development of the national health care system in terms of the Concept of the development of electronic health care, which is important for medical care and rehabilitation of citizens who suffered during the war, was determined. Important aspects and measures to optimize activities in the field of telemedicine highlighted, which need to be paid attention to during further reform and creation of new digital resources for a more comfortable transition and use of the latest digital technologies in the field of health care.

Sorry, the World is not Flat: A Global View of Organizational Information Systems Issues

Information systems (IS) research paradigms, models, and findings are largely developed in the context of the U.S. and Western Europe; therefore, they are applicable primarily to the Western context and have limited relevance elsewhere. In response to this incomplete view and potential bias, the World Information Technology (IT) Project was launched more than five years ago to examine many topics, including the nature of organizational IS issues in various parts of the world. Using a common survey instrument, data were collected from IT employees in 37 countries. These 37 countries provide a good representation of the world as they exhibit different economic, cultural, political, religious, and regional differences. Results demonstrate the fallacy of the Western views and reveal that the globe does not always follow them. While there are a few common issues among the 37 countries, namely: IT reliability and efficiency, and security and privacy; more significantly, there are important differences. A cluster analysis of the country data corroborates the findings and divides countries into two groups: those with strategic issues and those with tactical and operational issues. Overall, the study underscores the importance of visioning beyond ethnocentric views and expanding our horizons to the global IT landscape. Particularly, business and IT executives need to address country and regional differences when pursuing international endeavors.

Implementation of information systems for regional management to ensure post-war economic recovery in Ukraine

The purpose of this article is to study and analyze the challenges and opportunities associated with the implementation of information systems in regional management to ensure post-war economic recovery in Ukraine. The systematic approach, as well as methods of hierarchy analysis, economic and program-target forecasting, abstract-logical, and monographic are used. The article identifies five main groups of information systems that currently used in Ukraine. The advantages of the cartographic method over methods of presenting results and modeling in information systems of regional management agencies are substantiated. The article identifies shortcomings and limitations of existing regional management information systems that hinder the effective functioning of regional management bodies. A mechanism for the creation of a regional information system is developed and visualized. This mechanism, in particular, allows the collection, analysis, and synthesis of data obtained from regional management bodies and local self-government. The need for the establishment of a situation center to organize and coordinate the implementation and functioning of the regional information system is justified. Conditions for the development and implementation of monitoring and management information systems at the regional level are determined. Ways of cooperation between regional management bodies and business structures, state enterprises, and organizations in the process of creating a unified information system are outlined. The advantages of implementing a regional program for the creation of a regional management information system are substantiated. The measures of such a program are defined. The necessity of the creation the unified cartographic regional environment was substantiated. This process predict using electronic topographic maps of all territories developed based on ground observations, aviation, and other types of survey. Such approach ensure the collection, processing, and use of various types of data based on a single regional situation center reflecting the security and development of the region as well as modernization the information support of regional management processes.
