The global cash waqf: a tool against poverty in Muslim countries

Purpose The problem of poverty in the Muslim world has been posing multi-faceted challenges to the life of individuals and the relations of people. Although this problem has been gaining scholarly attention and raised in relation to various issues ranging from social injustice, rampant corruption, societal instability, wide social polarization and insurgent movements that affect the regional peace and stability at large, neither effective economic mechanism proposed nor implemented to address the problem effectively. In this regard, it is also important to appreciate the recent initiations in the field of Islamic economics to present an optional view to the existing and alien economic models in the Muslim world. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to fill up this research gap by proposing a model of mobilizing funds through the global cash-waqf institution. Design/methodology/approach The study adopts content analysis to construct this global cash waqf model for poverty alleviation in Muslim countries. Findings The “global cash-waqf model” was proposed as an alternative that could be implemented and used to overcome the poverty matter in Muslim countries. It is assumed that the model will facilitate the fund mobilization among Muslim countries, which in return is going to assure full distribution and redistribution of wealth to eradicate the poverty in the Muslim world. The model was structured with a global vision in both the collection side and the distribution side. Originality/value The model will facilitate the fund’s mobilization among Muslim countries, which in return achieves an Islamic goal of distribution and redistribution of wealth to assure the well-being of all humanities in the society.

Research on the Construction of E-commerce Platform for Poverty Alleviation Products Based on Internet

With the development of the current Internet, e-commerce has also shown a vigorous vitality. The development of China’s new poverty alleviation model is also closely related to the Internet e-commerce platform. The construction of e-commerce platform has gradually become an important path to get rid of poverty in rural areas. Through a series of analysis, this paper summarizes some current situation of e-commerce development and some effects achieved by e-commerce platform in poverty alleviation, and summarizes the experience and poverty alleviation model of some domestic e-commerce platforms. Finally, the feasibility of the current agricultural products e-commerce poverty alleviation model is studied and discussed. Targeted Poverty Alleviation Model of China’s Online Education Based on “Triple Classroom”: Take the “Shi Shi Xiang Yun” Online School in Chengdu, China as an Example

The use of increasingly popularized information technology to improve education poverty and then promote the balanced development of education has become the development trend of world education. On the road to poverty alleviation, China has firmly grasped information technology to encourage school reform in areas with scarce educational resources. Among them, “Triple Classroom” was the accurate result of the deep integration of education, teaching, and information technology. Driven by the “Triple Classroom” project, the Shi Shi Middle School in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, built the online open course with the “Shi Shi Xiang Yun (SSXY)” online school as a platform. Thus, they send high-quality educational resources to areas with scarce educational resources and effectively promote education quality improvement in marginal areas.

A social engineering model for poverty alleviation

Poverty, the quintessential denominator of a developing nation, has been traditionally defined against an arbitrary poverty line; individuals (or countries) below this line are deemed poor and those above it, not so! This has two pitfalls. First, absolute reliance on a single poverty line, based on basic food consumption, and not on total consumption distribution, is only a partial poverty index at best. Second, a single expense descriptor is an exogenous quantity that does not evolve from income-expenditure statistics. Using extensive income-expenditure statistics from India, here we show how a self-consistent endogenous poverty line can be derived from an agent-based stochastic model of market exchange, combining all expenditure modes (basic food, other food and non-food), whose parameters are probabilistically estimated using advanced Machine Learning tools. Our mathematical study establishes a consumption based poverty measure that combines labor, commodity, and asset market outcomes, delivering an excellent tool for economic policy formulation.

DEVELOPMENT OF PRODUCTION WAKAF FOR POVERTY REDUCTION IN CIAMIS DISTRICT

This study aims to analyze the development of productive waqf to reduce poverty levels in Ciamis Regency. The research method used is empirical research. Data were collected through interviews and documentation studies. The results showed that (1) the management carried out by Nazhir used the POAC method (Planning, Organizing, Acting, Controlling) in order to achieve what was expected by the wakif so that the waqf property was utilized in accordance with its purpose; (2) implementation of waqf development through the establishment of mini markets. Until now, it has started to develop with the opening of a canteen near the area of educational institutions, laundry, and already has an inventory of two-wheeled vehicles. To increase productivity, a poverty alleviation model is currently being developed through scholarships for underprivileged and orphaned students. Identification and Evolution of the Noncoordination Coupling Relationship between Tourism Poverty Alleviation and Ecological Environments in Poor Mountainous Areas

Tourism poverty alleviation and ecological environments are closely associated with each other’s dissipation structure, which contains various coordinated and noncoordinated coupling states. Based on the perspective of reverse thinking and problem diagnosis, this paper constructs a bridge from uncoordinated pathology to coordinated development. From the perspective of incongruity, the framework model and evaluation index system of tourism poverty alleviation and ecological environments incongruity coupling coordination driving mechanism are constructed. Also, the variation coefficient method is used to calculate the weight of each evaluation index and the coupling relationship and evolution of tourism poverty alleviation and ecological environments in Liupanshui city are analyzed by the noncoordination coupling function. The results suggest the following: (1) During the study period, the poverty alleviation level of tourism in Liupanshui city presents a continuous growth curve. Meanwhile, ecological environment development level depicts rapid growth initially and then slows down and improves further. In this way, it shows different stage characteristics from the tourism poverty alleviation level. (2) The discordant coupling between tourism poverty alleviation and ecological environments in Liupanshui city shows a decreasing curve. So, the noncoordinated development relationship between tourism poverty alleviation and ecological environments is significant.

Research on the Development Model of Tourism Poverty Alleviation in Western Poor Areas Based on Computer Network

The dynamic mechanism of tourism poverty alleviation involves multiple forces such as government entities, tourism enterprises, local residents, non-governmental organizations, etc., make full use of the resources that may be mobilized and play the role of the government’s backbone in poverty alleviation in tourism. Stakeholders distribute benefits fairly and provide reasonable policy support. Strengthen the promotion of tourism scenic spots, build the image of national cultural tourism brands, expand the tourist source market, enhance the popularity of tourist scenic spots and use computer network technology to facilitate the development of tourism in its poor areas.

This study aims to determine the main factors leading causes of cultural poverty and developing poverty aleviation model based on local wisdom, such as Hindu based-philosophy TatTwam Asi (if I were you) in the community of Kintamani tourist area. The objectives acomplishment of the study were carried out by using the paradigm prototypical studies, combined with reflective analysis method. It was found that the main factors causing poverty in certain parts of Kintamani community were cultural values that lead them difficult to reduce the poverty, such as the cultural habit of begging, laziness, pessimistic, easy to quit, lack of motivation, resigned to fate family situation that been poor hereditary, and low education level. Poverty alleviation model was proposed by elaborating Tat Twam Asi values in the community of Kintamani tourist area through functionalization of social and culture institutions.

How to Effectively Improve the Poor People’s Capacity for Poverty Alleviation

Poverty has been a world-wide issue. Due to the social disturbs caused by poverty, crime rates have risen, and diseases have spread. Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the party and the country have attached great importance to poverty alleviation and led people to successfully create a path of poverty alleviation and development with Chinese characteristics, bringing more than 700 million people out of absolute poverty, and contributing to the world's poverty alleviation. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the state has promoted the targeted poverty alleviation, innovated poverty alleviation methods, and made new progress in the poverty alleviation work. Under the current economic model of precise poverty alleviation, effectively improving the capacity of the poor for poverty alleviation has become a top priority.

Understanding the Role of Rural Poor’s Endogenous Impetus in Poverty Reduction: Evidence from China

Motivating the endogenous impetus of the poor to eradicate poverty is an endogenous dilemma that is difficult to solve using the current external poverty alleviation model. In this paper, based on the field survey data of 1112 poor rural households in China, we examine the impact of the poor’s endogenous impetus on their poverty reduction. Firstly, we identify two different components of endogenous impetus: thought impetus and behavior impetus. Secondly, the poverty reduction (livelihood status) of farmers was used as an endogenous variable to construct a partial least squares model to verify our explanation of the role of endogenous impetus of the poor in poverty reduction. The results indicate that (1) both thought impetus and behavior impetus have a positive impact on the livelihood status of the poor; (2) the human capital, physical capital, and social capital of the poor have a positive relationship with the two components of endogenous impetus; and (3) endogenous impetus plays a mediation role between livelihood capital and livelihood status. As expected, human and physical capital have a positive and significant relationship with poverty reduction. The important enlightenment of this study is that it is very important to motivate the poor’s endogenous impetus of escaping poverty in addition to improving external conditions such as livelihood capital owned by farmers in an effort to realize sustainable poverty reduction.

This research has the goal of providing input to economic divesifikasi models which are the most consistent in increasing economic value and decrease poverty in the district town expansion North Sumatra Province. Provide input model Sustaianble Development Goals (SDGs) are the most supportive in the increase in economic value and alleviating poverty in the county town expansion North Sumatra Province. Prove empirically the performance of the economy which interact strongly supported the decline in poverty in the county townof the expansion in North Sumatra Province. This research uses 16 sample extraction area in North Sumatra. The first model of poverty alleviation through diversified value-added business community in meeting the needs of the community's life while the second model to determine what variables as policy recommendations for alleviating poverty in the County the expansion North Sumatra Province. The first model requires primary data while the second model requires data skunder time series starting in 2000 up to 2013. data analysis using two models, namely Structural Equation Models (SEM) and Vector Autoregression (VAR). Results of the study and this analysis gives an overview and prove the real poverty mapping in areas of expansion, poverty reduction actions based on the poverty mapping, control variables are very urgent in affects poverty, and controlling poverty continuously.

Exploring the effect of an enhanced e-commerce institutional mechanism on online shopping intention in the context of e-commerce poverty alleviation

PurposeE-commerce poverty alleviation (EPA) is an innovative poverty alleviation model in China. The institutional mechanisms of the e-commerce platform improve the effect of EPA and exert online shopping purchase power in rural China. From a socio-technical perspective, this paper used adoption readiness of farmers and perceived risk to construct an integrated model to discern the effect of enhanced e-commerce institutional mechanisms on farmers' online shopping intention in the context of EPA.Design/methodology/approachThe survey included 832 valid samples from rural farmers in Shanxi province. This study analyses using structural equation modelling (SEM) and bootstrap methods used to empirically test the model.FindingsFindings suggest that enhanced e-commerce institutional mechanisms have significant direct and indirect positive impacts on farmers' online shopping intention; adoption readiness and perceived risk play partial mediation roles in determining the relationship between farmers' online shopping intention and enhanced e-commerce institutional mechanisms; and the indirect mediation effect of adoption readiness is greater than that of perceived risk.Research limitations/implicationsAlthough the proposed model was supported in the questionnaire survey, the investigation method was not completely excluded. Future research can combine the method of panel data and apply the framework to other e-commerce platforms, as well as to other cultural settings.Practical implicationsThe study suggests that enhanced e-commerce institutional mechanisms that are based on the needs of farmers from poverty-stricken areas change the shopping habits of farmers. Moreover, enhanced e-commerce institutional mechanisms should allow farmers' perceived adoption readiness to play its promoting role and reduce the impeding role of perceived risk. The results of this study are conducive to the intensive implementation of the ‘Three Rural Issues’ strategy in China.Originality/valueA new model to generate a two-factor mediation effect model by integrating the perceived effectiveness of enhanced e-commerce institutional mechanisms with farmers, farmers' adoption readiness, perceived risk and online shopping intention. The study explored the relationship between enhanced e-commerce institutional mechanisms and farmers' online shopping intention, bridging the gap in related empirical studies. Besides, this study first proposed farmers' adoption readiness and clarifies the mediating role of farmers' adoption readiness and perceived risk, which highlights the previously unnoticed role of farmers' adoption readiness.

Exploration and Practical Research on Guangdong Yingde Targeted Poverty Alleviation Model—A Case Study of Lianzhang Village, Lianjiangkou Town, Yingde City, Guangdong Province

The successful implementation of the nation’s precision-poverty relief measures is a political task of the communist party of China. Another key fact to remember, this is a project to solve the difficulties of civilians and improve the quality of their lives. Poverty alleviation ecosystem evolutionary game on smart supply chain platform under the government financial platform incentive mechanism

Artificial intelligence, machine learning and big data computing promote the development of smart supply chain. The cooperative poverty alleviation model with multi-subject participation composed of cooperative, smart supply chain platform and the government was constructed. The evolutionary game method was used to explore the behavioral strategies of cooperative poverty alleviation ecosystem between the smart supply chain platform and the cooperative under the government financial platform subsidy mechanism. Particularly, the game equilibrium in the cooperation between the smart supply chain platform and the cooperative under the subsidy and non-subsidy mechanisms of the government was analyzed. Finally, numerical simulation was implemented to analyze the effects of risks, intelligence degree, consumer preference and price on game equilibrium. The study results demonstrate: (1) In the range allowed by technology and cost, increasing the intelligence degree of the smart supply chain platform will benefit the cooperation between the smart supply chain platform and the cooperative; (2) Under high unsalable risks and unsalable losses, the cooperative will cooperate with the smart supply chain platform; (3) consumer preference influences not only the cooperative game between smart supply chain and cooperative, but also product demand and product price; and (4) under constant conditions, dependence on government subsidies is inversely proportional to the intelligence degree. In other words, enhancing the intelligence degree of the smart supply chain platform helps to transform the ”blood transfusion” poverty alleviation to “hematopoietic” poverty alleviation, and decreases the dependence of poverty alleviation on government financial platform subsidies.

Implementation of Cipoo Model (Context, Input, Process, Output And Outcome) in Poverty Reduction Based on Prime Potentials (A Case Study of Wonogiri Regency)

Poverty is a classic problem caused by economic and non-economic factors such as cultural, sociological, political and geographical issues. Efforts to alleviate poverty can be done through community empowerment. Empowerment is the creation of an atmosphere or climate that allows excellent potential to grow. Wonogiri is the second largest regency in Central Java, with diverse prime potentials, but not yet able to boost its economic growth. This leads to relatively high poverty in this regency. GDP growth per capita is much lower than that of Solo Raya, Provincial and National, which shows that Wonogiri people's welfare is relatively lower compared to other regions.The main objective of this research is to develop a poverty reduction model based on prime potentials through the implementation of CIPOO (Context, Input, Process, Output and Outcome) model in Wonogiri by (1) identifying local resource-based economic potentials; (2) analyzing factors affecting community empowerment and participation in inclusive development activities; and (3) analyzing the development process of each subdistrict.The research method used is Sequential Mixed Method with analytical tools used include Geographic Information System (GIS), CIPOO analysis, Focus Group Discussion, in-depth interview, and Klassen Typology.The results showed that the greatest potential in Wonogiri district is agriculture especially horticulture, fisheries, plantation, animal husbandry, and tourism. The gap between sub-districts is very high as indicated by high Gini index and Klassen typology. Therefore, the poverty alleviation model with participatory CIPPO is appropriate for Wonogiri regency.

Investigation and application of Dendrobium resources in Qinba Mountains with a discussion on industrial poverty alleviation model

The Dendrobium species are rare and endangered medicinal plants, and it is difficult to investigate their wild resources with conventional methods because of typical epiphytic herbaceous. We explored Dendrobium resources(include culture resource) of Qinba Mountains and the boundary Mountain area in Hubei, Chongqing using the methods of literatures and field investigation, and found that the cultural base of Dendrobium were profound in Qinba Mountains region. Furthermore, its germplasm resources of Dendrobium were established for the first time in Wanzhou Luotian town. In case the advantages of local rock resources and poverty alleviation demand, we have actively carried out the cultivating mode of Dendrobium which grow on rock, and the poverty alleviation model of local characteristic Dendrobium industry were established preliminarily. Our application case can provide reference for the mining and transformation of traditional Chinese medicine resources census results.

Study on the Participation Path of Tourism Accurate Poverty Alleviation Community in Contiguous Destitute Areas——A Case Study of Ankang City, Qinba Mountain Area, Shaanxi Province

Based on MOA model, this paper constructs the structural equation model of poverty alleviation through community participation in tourism, and analyzes the situation of residents’ participation in poverty alleviation through tourism in Ankang city. The analysis results are as follows. First, participation capacity has a significant positive impact on community participation and it is important in the MOA model of community involvement in tourism poverty alleviation. Secondly, participation motivation has no significant impact on community participation, and does not reach significant level. Finally, the current level of community involvement is low, and tempting participation has the greatest impact on participation levels. In response to the problems of residents of Ankang City participating in tourism poverty alleviation, relevant solutions were proposed to create a good environment for community residents to participate in tourism development, thus accelerating the pace of rural revitalization.
