Redesign of User Interface Zakat Mobile Smartphone Application with User Experience Approach

Indonesia is a majority Muslim country with a percentage 87.1% of the population. Islam teaches its people to carry out activities that aim to share with the needy; Zakat, Infaq and also Shadaqoh (ZIS). However, zakat collection in 2015 is only 1.3% of it’s potential. Today, the marketing channels of ZIS products is starting to use the internet as the process of digitalizing zakat for communication channel and service channel to achieve efficiency. The most widely used device for internet browsing is smartphone devices. Growth of smartphone users in Indonesia occur along with the increase of mobile application users. Digitalization of zakat provides wider access to donors, fraud avoidance, reduced operational costs and better consolidation of national zakat reports. One of the effort is developing zakat mobile smartphone application which currently still encounters some problems in the development process. This study aims to re-design the User Interface of zakat mobile smartphone applications with the user experience approach for zakat mobile application in order to obtained the best recommended combination of user experience elements that aims to improve user experience of the application. The methods used are performance metrics, Single Ease Question (SEQ) questionnaires, System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaires, Questionnaire for User Interface Satisfaction (QUIS) questionnaires, and Retrospective Think Aloud (RTA). Based on the results of this research, zakat mobile smartphone applications have low usability rating so there is a need to do re-design by using the TRIZ method. The result of this study is a prototype that meets the perceptions.

When Students Choose E‐learning Resources—the Importance of Ease and Convenience

Electronic learning resources are popular with today's students. How students choose their favorite e‐learning tools has not been investigated in detail and therefore is not well understood. The popular SecondLook™ (SL) Histology e‐learning self‐review tool was offered in three different formats to students participating in two different histology courses at the University of Michigan (CDB450/550 and DENT510). The SL formats included downloadable PowerPoint files, an interactive online website, and a mobile smartphone and computer tablet application (app). Identical in content, each format had specific advantages and disadvantages with respect to the types of compatible devices, user features, and access limitations. Upon the conclusion of their courses, students were surveyed about their format choices and reasons for their selection, as well as usage patterns. Only 3 out of 213 participating students (91.4% participation rate) reported not having used the SL resource. Many students (46% CDB450/550, 64% DENT510) tried only one resource format, with PowerPoint being the most popular final choice (56% CBD450/550, 64% DENT510). Although the interactive website and mobile app offered several user‐friendly features not available within the PowerPoint files, they each only garnered approximately 20% final popularity in both courses. “Convenience,” “larger screen,” and “easy to use” were given most often as reasons for students' PowerPoint software format choice. The flexibility of time and place to use the resource and availability of features were also named as factors in the format selection. The access to a mobile learning tool enticed some students to use this resource in distractive environments. It also encouraged some students to forgo other learning resources, specifically textbooks, and the course website. These results suggest that today's students are in fact less motivated to actively seek out novel, high‐tech learning resources than commonly believed and instead often select easy to use and convenient review tools with which they are familiar. Inovação na orientação pré-natal a partir do aplicativo Gestação Saudável: estudo metodológico

Objetivo: desenvolver um aplicativo móvel para smartphone como ferramenta para a adesão às consultas de pré-natal. Método: trata-se de um estudo metodológico aplicado, na modalidade de produção tecnológica para validação do aplicativo, elaborado entre janeiro a outubro de 2017, no qual foram seguidas as etapas de análise, design, desenvolvimento, implementação e avaliação. Inicialmente, realizou-se uma revisão integrativa sobre o tema e, em seguida, procedeu-se com o esboço de organograma para nortear a construção da ferramenta e obtenção do produto. Resultado esperados: espera-se que a ferramenta contribua com o desenvolvimento sustentável, reduzindo os óbitos maternos neonatais principalmente por causas obstétricas diretas, maior adesão de gestantes às consultas e melhor qualidade no pré-natal.

Effect of a lifestyle-focused electronic patient support application for improving risk factor management, self-rated health, and prognosis in post-myocardial infarction patients: study protocol for a multi-center randomized controlled trial

BackgroundCardiac rehabilitation (CR) programs addressing risk factor management, educational interventions, and exercise contribute to reduce mortality after myocardial infarction (MI). However, the fulfillment of guideline-recommended CR targets is currently unsatisfactory. eHealth, i.e., the use of electronic communication for healthcare, including the use of mobile smartphone applications combined with different sensors and interactive computerized programs, offers a new array of possibilities to provide clinical care. The present study aims to assess the efficacy of a web-based application (app) designed to support persons in adhering to lifestyle advice and medication as a complement to traditional CR programs for improvement of risk factors and clinical outcomes in patients with MI compared with usual care.Methods/designAn open-label multi-center randomized controlled trial is being conducted at different CR centers from three Swedish University Hospitals. The aim is to include 150 patients with MI < 75 years of age who are confident smartphone and/or Internet users. In addition to participation in CR programs according to the usual routine at each center, patients randomized to the intervention arm will receive access to the web-based app. A CR nurse reviews the patients’ self-reported data twice weekly through a medical interface at the clinic. The primary outcome of the study will be change in submaximal exercise capacity (in watts) between 2 and 4 weeks after discharge and when the patient has completed his/her exercise program at the CR center, usually around 3–6 months post-discharge. Secondary outcomes include changes in self-reported physical activity, objectively assessed physical activity by accelerometry, self-rated health, dietary, and smoking habits, body mass index, blood pressure, blood lipids, and glucose/HbA1c levels between inclusion and follow-up visits during the first year post-MI. Additionally, we will assess uptake and adherence to the application, the number of CR staff contacts, and the incidence of cardiovascular events at 1 and 3 years after the MI. Patient recruitment started in 2016, and the first study results are expected in the beginning of 2019.DiscussionThe present study will add evidence to whether electronic communication can be used to improve traditional CR programs for patients after MI.Trial registrationClinicalTrials.gov, NCT03260582. Do not bet on your favourite football team: the influence of fan identity-based biases and sport context knowledge on game prediction accuracy

ABSTRACTResearch question: While the influence of sport context knowledge, such as home advantage and team ranking, on prediction accuracy has been discussed in the previous literature, the role of identity-based biases, such as fans’ level of team involvement and the selection of their favourite team, in betting behaviour remain unclear. The main purpose of this study is to develop an understanding of how sport fans’ biases and sport context knowledge influence the accuracy of sport game predictions.Research methods: A smartphone application enabled us to collect real soccer game predictions and results. A total of 529 football fans participated in 53,943 predictions of 2353 professional football games within a mobile smartphone application. Chi-square tests and logistic regressions were used to analyse the data.Results and findings: Chi-square test results indicate that individuals overestimate their favourite team to win, as well as they split their predictions into dichotomous outcomes by overestimating wins and losses and underestimating draws. Logistic regression analyses indicate that identity-based biases negatively influence prediction accuracy, whereas individuals’ sport context knowledge positively contributes to prediction accuracy.Implications: The study contributes to our understanding of the Psychological Continuum Model, individual biases, social identity theory and the psychological concept of splitting. Findings have implications for organizations who need to understand fans’ sport gambling behaviour and sport fans who seek to optimize their game prediction accuracy to improve their bets and fantasy team selections.

Determinants of mobile technology use and smartphone application interest in cancer patients.

BackgroundSupportive care is a critical component of the treatment of cancer patients that is underutilized; patient lack of information about these services is an important barrier. Mobile technologies may be useful tools for delivering information, but cancer patient use of and interest in using them to learn about supportive care services have not been described. This study evaluates factors associated with cancer patient use of mobile technologies and interest in smartphone applications for information delivery about supportive care.MethodsWe conducted a cross‐sectional survey among cancer patients from one urban academic hospital and 11 community hospitals. Patients self‐reported use of mobile technologies and interest in smartphone applications. Multivariate logistic analysis was used to identify determinants of mobile technology use and smartphone interest.ResultsAmong 631 participants, 466 (74%) reported regular use of mobile devices and 242 (39%) expressed an interest in supportive care information via smartphone applications. Patients under 45 were more likely to use a mobile device (Adjusted Odds Ratio [AOR] 6.8, 2.8‐16.9 95% CI, P < 0.001) and were interested in smartphone applications for delivery of information (AOR 3.2, 1.8‐5.9 95% CI, P < 0.001). Non‐white patients had similar use of mobile technology compared to whites but reported greater interest in smartphone application‐based information (AOR 3.4, 2.1‐5.5 95% CI, P < 0.001).ConclusionMany patients expressed interest in smartphone application‐based information about supportive care services, especially those who are younger and non‐white. Future studies should investigate the characteristics of patients and smartphones applications that will optimize information delivery through a mobile technology platform.

Feasibility and Acceptability of Using Smartphone Apps in Diabetes Self-Management in an Underserved Population: Qualitative Study

Background: The successful management of diabetes is a chronic endeavor. It involves a whole host of factors ranging from a consistent patient-provider relationship to regular physical activity. Not all patients with diabetes, however, have access to the resources needed for effective disease management. Health disparities contribute to a higher frequency of diabetes development in poor and minority populations. Moreover, health care disparities limit the care these patient populations receive. Because underserved populations have little to no access to traditional means of health care, providers must explore other avenues to reach this patient group. Mobile health (mHealth) has grown significantly in the last decade. With the fast-paced adoption of cell phones across all socioeconomic groups, mobile health presents the opportunity to offer patients a low-cost way to receive health information, to communicate with providers, and to self-manage chronic conditions. It has been well established that low-income, minority populations experience several barriers to receiving basic health care including uninsurance, limited transportation, and high out-of-pocket costs. The provision of health care via mobile devices may have the potential to address such health disparities. Little is known about the effectiveness of using mobile health and smartphone applications (apps) in underserved populations to help with diabetes management. Knowledge of these patients’ interest in using mobile apps to augment their home self-management may have use in future implementations. Objective: The objective of this study is to examine the perception of and willingness to use diabetes mobile health apps on smartphones in patients with limited access to primary care providers. Methods: This study used purposive sampling to select patients for personal interviews. The study was conducted at a general hospital located in a part of town with predominate minority and low-income residency, as well as the highest diabetes prevalence rates. Semi-structured interviews were conducted according to McNamara’s interview staging. A total of 15 interviews were collected and coded by the researcher according to the interpretative phenomenological analysis framework. An independent committee reviewed all interview transcripts and coding to verify trustworthiness of collection and analysis. Results: The data produced 7 clusters related to smartphone app use and mHealth, each highlighting a component of the patient experience, which supported 3 overarching themes. The themes are as follows: despite limited knowledge about health apps and varying phone use patterns, patients were all willing to try at least one diabetes-related app; apps functions should be individualized to meet each patient’s needs for maximum benefit; and barriers to app use were varied but commonly included knowledge and technological challenges and security issues. Conclusions: Personal interviews of this underserved patient population demonstrated an interest in and willingness to try mobile health apps, despite limited knowledge about the technology. Responses indicate that tailoring app choices to individual needs, instead of choosing a multi-functional one-size-fits-all app, would provide the most benefit for at-home diabetes self-management. Smartphone apps may serve as a viable low-cost resource for patients with diabetes who have limited access to traditional health care providers.

Digital learning: Developing skills for digital transformation of organizations

The primary goal of this paper is to contribute to the discussion of an effective digital transformation of organizations based on the latest trends of skills. It also intends to analyze the perceptions of individuals regarding the challenges faced by organizations and opportunities for new disruptive business. A literature review about the digital learning contexts and the identification of skills needed for organizations digital transformation was made. Moreover, it was also launched an online survey to identify the importance of skills for an effective digital transformation. As primary results, the main skills identified were artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, robotization, internet of things, augmented reality, digitalization; and the main digital learning contexts were mobile technologies, tablets, and smartphone applications — which are becoming more and more popular among the employees. This study will help organizations to rethink their strategies according to skills development to respond to the challenges of digital transformation.

Experience Design for Reporting Human Trafficking

The ethnographic research study titled Operation Compass is focused on the development of design-led interventions to combat human trafficking. Phase one was focused on the question, how could a modified form of technology enable truck drivers to report suspected instances of human trafficking at a higher rate? The collection of primary research was guided by grounded theory with the goal of developing a theory from social patterns to explain why truck drivers were not reporting suspected cases of human trafficking. The study identified three key factors: their fear of safety, the necessity for timely delivery of cargo, and the lack of understanding on how to identify human trafficking. Since these had previously stopped truck drivers from reporting suspected cases of human trafficking, our design goal was to create a reporting process that mitigated these concerns to the point that they could be overcome. That is, reporting had to be anonymous, convenient, safe, integrated into the technology truck drivers prefer to use, ease of use to report a suspected case of human trafficking, and the ability to recognize human trafficking. The first five could be addressed with the Operation Compass smartphone mobile application; the last required an education campaign.

Recording Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Treatment via a Mobile Smartphone Application: A Feasibility Simulation Study

Background: Given the demanding nature of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) resuscitations, recordings of the times of interventions in EMS patient care reports (PCRs) are often inaccurate. The American Heart Association developed Full Code Pro (FCP), a smartphone application designed to assist EMS personnel in recording the timing of interventions performed. Through OHCA simulations, this study assessed the group size necessary to use the FCP recording functions accurately and safely without compromising patient care. Program evaluation was based on participant feedback surveys, data accuracy, delays between recording and performing interventions, and delays in care attributed to using the application, stratified by group size.Methods: Simulations of a standard OHCA scenario using the Gaumard TraumaHal mannequin and a dedicated iPhone 5 preloaded with FCP version 3.4 were run with group sizes of 2–6 participants, with group sizes determined by participant availability. Participants included Connecticut certified paramedics and paramedic students who had completed the appropriate coursework. A 7-item feedback survey using a Likert scale established participant feedback on the application. Videos of the simulations were analyzed to assess for delays. One-way analysis of variance with trend analysis was used to test whether outcomes differed by group size and whether differences tended in one direction in parallel with group size.Results: There were 37 simulations, including 142 participants. The feedback survey questions achieved a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.91, signifying high reliability, and demonstrated a linear trend supporting greater satisfaction with FCP as group size increases (p < 0.001). Similarly, increasing group size displayed linear trends with greater numbers of interventions recorded (p = 0.009) and fewer missed and false recordings (p = 0.002). Delays revealed significant linear trends (p = 0.018 for delays in recording and p < 0.001 for delays in care), as increasing group size corresponded with lesser delays. Greatest improvement was noted to be between groups of 3 and 4 participants.Conclusions: OHCA simulations using FCP demonstrate increased provider comfort, increased recording accuracy, and decreased delays as the group size increased. While the application may improve recordings for PCRs and future research, the data suggest a sufficient number of EMS personnel (>3) should be present to achieve reliable data without compromising patient care.

Learning Analytics Measuring Impacts on Organisational Performance

This paper presents a research on the effectiveness of digital learning in organisations and how it can be measured. This research aims to bridge the gap between scientific and practice-oriented research about digital learning. The focus will be on learning analytics and measuring its impacts on organisations with the goal to identify the potential of digital learning for organisations. This research is based on a systematic literature review and a survey analysis to answer the following research questions: What are the contexts in which digital learning can take place? What are the main metrics which allows measuring the efficiency of digital learning in organisational contexts? Is there a positive influence of the digital learning contexts supported by organisations, on skills development and impacts on performance analytics that measure the impacts in organisations? And what is the digital learning analytics that measures the impacts on organisations? What is the digital learning analytics that measures the impacts on organisations? The results showed that digital learning analytics can enhance the efficacy of the learning process impact in organisations and that contexts for learning supported on mobile technologies, tablet and smartphone applications become more and more popular among the employees. Additionally, the results helped to create a model of learning analytics and identify impacts of the learning process.

Development of Leaf Area Meter Using Open CV for Smartphone Application

This study aimed to design an accurate and practical system of leaf area determination using a smartphone. A software application for leaf area computation was developed using Open CV (Open Source Computer Vision) library. Open CV software was tested to estimate the accuracy of leaf area calculation. Leaf area calculations were undertaken using three different image resolutions to compare their accuracy. The results of the software calculations were then compared with the results of the laboratory leaf area meter to identify any errors. The results showed that higher image resolutions improved accuracy by reducing errors. High resolution image gave higher accuracy, however processing speed decreased. Leaf measurement in this project resulted in accuracy range between 92.8% to 99.0%. It was concluded that the Open CV algorithm gave fast and adequate accuracy for leaf area calculation, and that the smartphone mobile application system was practical for field use.

Need Analysis of the Mobile Application Development Related to Al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamicjerusalem (Baitul Maqdis) as a M-Learning Medium

The public's tendency towards Palestinian related issues shows that communities, especially the Malaysians’, are keen to seek information on Palestine, particularly concerning al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic jerusalem (Baitul Maqdis). However, the number of mediums of information through mobile smartphones that provide scientific information about al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic jerusalem (Baitul Maqdis) is minimal. Furthermore, the existing apps using one language only; English, Arabic or Malay, make it difficult to obtain the information. The objective of this need analysis is to obtain information on the basic knowledge of the community of al-Aqsa and Baitul Maqdis mosques. An online questionnaire was distributed to implement this purpose, and respondents were selected by convenience sampling. A total of 601 respondents responded to the questionnaire. The study found that out of five (5) parts of the question submitted, 70% of the respondents were unable to answer correctly or chose the answer “did not know” for the questions. Therefore, this study concludes that it is necessary to develop a scientific learning medium which contains the main information relating to the al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic jerusalem (Baitul Maqdis). As the acceptance and use of mobile smartphones as a major medium of information in the community, the development of mobile smartphone applications about the al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic jerusalem (Baitul Maqdis) is essential. Its existence can fill up the loophole of the alternative medium of m-learning related to the Masjid al-Aqsa and Baitul Maqdis in the society.

Trends in Telemedicine Use for Addiction Treatment

Methods: A project conducted from February 2013 to June 2014 investigated the adoption of telemedicine services among purchasers of addiction treatment in five states and one county. The project assessed purchasers’ interest in and perceived facilitators and barriers to implementing one or more of the following telemedicine modalities: telephone-based care, web-based screening, web-based treatment, videoconferencing, smartphone mobile applications (apps), and virtual worlds.&#x0D; Results: Purchasers expressed the most interest in implementing videoconferencing and smartphone mobile devices. Anticipated facilitators for implementing a telemedicine app included funding available to pay for the telemedicine service, local examples of success, influential champions at the payer and treatment agencies, and meeting a pressing need. Greatest barriers identified were costs associated with implementation, lack of reimbursement for telemedicine services, providers’ unfamiliarity with technology, lack of implementation models, and confidentiality regulations.&#x0D; Conclusions: Despite the considerable interest in telemedicine, implementation challenges exist. Future studies should broaden the sample analyzed and track technology implementation longitudinally to help the research and practitioner communities develop a greater understanding of technology implementation trends and practices.

Improving Glycemic Control in Adults and Children With Type 1 Diabetes With the Use of Smartphone-Based Mobile Applications: A Systematic Review.

Management of type 1 diabetes is often challenging. Smartphone mobile applications (apps) may provide additional support and help to improve glycemic control and clinical outcomes. The objectives of this study were to examine the literature evaluating the use of mobile apps (stand-alone and text messaging/feedback) in type 1 diabetes and to review top-rated mobile apps applicable to type 1 diabetes. Medline, Cochrane and Embase databases were systematically searched to identify studies published from inception to February 2018. Top-rated relevant apps from Google Play Store and Apple App Store were reviewed in July 2017. The literature search yielded 3,462 studies. Of these studies, 9 evaluated the stand-alone apps; 3 showed significant improvement in glycated hemoglobin (A1C) levels (0.5%, p<0.05, 0.57%, p<0.05, and 0.58%, p=0.02); 3 demonstrated improved adherence to glucose monitoring; and 1 study demonstrated a reduction in hypoglycemic events (glucose<3.0 mmol/L) in 6 of 10 participants who completed the study. Also, 5 studies evaluated a mobile app plus text-messaging/feedback system. Only 1 showed a significant reduction in severe hypoglycemic events (mobile app+text, IQR 0.33, 95% CI 0.17 to 0.63; vs. control, IQR 2.29, 95% CI 1.80 to 2.91), while another single study demonstrated a reduction in median glycated hemoglobin levels (0.3%; p<0.001). Most top-rated mobile apps logged parameters relevant to diabetes management, and some provided graphic analysis and set reminders. This study highlights the need for larger and longer studies to explore the efficacy of apps to optimize outcomes in type 1 diabetes, the populations that would benefit most from these tools and the resources needed to support mobile apps plus text-messaging/feedback systems.

Sexual Behavior, Risk Perception and Motivations for Sexual Risk Taking among Foreign Gay Tourists in Thailand

Thailand is portrayed globally as a haven for gay tourism. Tourism Authority of Thailand has been actively promoting the image of Thailand as a gay paradise. It is estimated that the country has witnessed a growing number of foreign gay tourists. This study aims to investigate sexual behaviour, risk perceptions and motivations for sexual risk taking of foreign gay tourists while traveling in Thailand on their vacation. A questionnaire consisting of four parts was designed. The first part of the questionnaire was to gather the information about the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents. In the second part, the respondents were asked to rate on a 5-point Likert scale with respect to the degree of risks associated with various specific sexual activities and to indicate whether they had or had not experienced a particular sexual activity while in Thailand. The third part of the questionnaire employed the 5-point Likert motivation scale for sexual-risk taking adopted from Berdychevsky and Gibson (2015). The fourth part of the questionnaire consisted of questions seeking to determine the awareness of the availability of places where tourists could have HIV counseling or HIV tests and the awareness of PrEP and PEP, the HIV prevention strategies. A questionnaire survey technique was used. The data were collected via gay smart phone mobile applications and at the establishments such as gay pubs or clubs, gay saunas and massage spas. A total number of 197 foreign gay tourists participated in the survey. Descriptive statistics such as mean score and standard deviation were used to identify the degree of perceived risks associated with various specific sexual activities and the degree of motivations for sexual risk-taking. Independent sample t-tests were conducted to test the difference perceptions between the gay tourists with and without actual experience with particular actual sexual activities. The study results provided the empirical evidence for understanding risks in tourism among foreign gay tourists in Thailand. Out of the total 24 sex-related activities, no activities were perceived as highest risk. 10 activities were perceived as high risk with the mean scores in the range between 3.41 to 4.20. The respondents referred to having anal sex with and unsteady/casual partner without condom as the most risky (mean score = 3.93, SD = 1.260). For the motivation results, the motivational capacity of the Fun and Less Inhibition dimension is higher than Anonymous Experimentation factor and Safe Thrills and Empowerment dimensions.

Mobile Healthcare and People with Disabilities: Current State and Future Needs.

Significant health disparities exist between the general population and people with disabilities, particularly with respect to chronic health conditions. Mobile healthcare—the delivery of healthcare via mobile communication devices—is witnessing tremendous growth and has been touted as an important new approach for management of chronic health conditions. At present, little is known about the current state of mobile healthcare for people with disabilities. Early evidence suggests they are not well represented in the growth of mobile healthcare, and particularly the proliferation of mobile health software applications (mHealth apps) for smartphones. Their omission in mHealth could lead to further health disparities. This article describes our research investigating the current state of mHealth apps targeting people with disabilities. Based on a multi-modal approach (literature review, Internet search, survey of disabled smartphone users), we confirm that people with disabilities are under-represented in the growth of mHealth. We identify several areas of future research and development needed to support the inclusion of people with disabilities in the mHealth revolution.

UbiCompass: An IoT Interaction Concept

Lately, different wearable form factors have reached the consumer domain. Wearables enable at-a-glance access to information and can continually sense the surrounding environment. Internet of Things (IoT) researchers have focused on the main enabling factors: the integration of several technologies and communication solutions. Less effort has been devoted to exploring how not-so-tech-savvy end users can discover and directly interact with the numerous connected things predicted by the IoT vision. This paper presents a novel IoT interaction concept called UbiCompass. A functional, smartwatch face prototype of the UbiCompass was developed and integrated with an existing smart home system, in which five different connected devices could be controlled using simple interaction. It was then compared to a traditional smartphone mobile application in a controlled experiment. The results show statistically significant differences in favor of the proposed concept. This highlights the potential the UbiCompass has as an IoT interaction concept.

An Experimental Autoethnography of Mobile Freelancing

Abstract This piece discusses an experimental ongoing research that began with my experience as an academic freelancer. It focuses on my experience of moving frequently within and between cities under specific work/ life conditions. An autoethnography provides insights not observable in quantitative research designs; and allows for access to embodied experience, along with reflections on emerging topics going beyond the purely personal, namely, mobility, advantage, and (work)place-making. This strategy allowed me to delineate the boundaries of the fieldsite across online and offline settings, including the digital technologies I share with other research participants. Personal maps of geolocalised trajectories overlapped with experiential accounts (photos, audionotes, interviews, and hand-drawn maps) are included. An interpretational thickness emerges from this association of materials. The research process has inspired the development of a smartphone mobile application for documenting such experiences of mobile freelancing, yet to be created with developers, who are, in turn, participants in this research.
