U-Ti alloys have attracted much attention for its excellent mechanical performance and corrosion resistance. The conventional method to fabricate U-Ti alloy by melting U and Ti metals shows great disadvantages in high energy consumption, excessive impurity content, low security and compositional segregation. Hereby, direct electro-reduction method was employed to fabricate U-Ti alloy from U3O8 and TiO2 mixtures in LiCl molten salt. The co-reduction route and process were also analyzed in detail, which are helpful to comprehend the effects of alloying elements on electro-reduction of uranium oxides, further promoting the application of this technique on nuclear fuel recycling.
