This program was created to reach girls who may not believe they have control over their lives and are unfamiliar with alternative roles for women, making them high risk for adolescent pregnancy. An empowerment intervention framework was used to develop educational and mutual aid activities directed toward four major social systems identified as significant problem-solving areas for adolescents. In addition to program description, group processes such as composition, norms, cohesion and conflict resolution are discussed. Evaluation results are given.
