Turkish Abstract: Calismanin amaci, 1995-2000 doneminde Turkiye’de iller arasinda meydana gelen egitim amacli gocleri degerlendirmektir. Bu amacla, Turkiye Istatistik Kurumu’na gore, iki sayim arasinda 5 ve daha yukari yastaki kisilerin daimi ikametgahlarindaki degisim biciminde tanimlanan goc verileri ile ayni donemdeki universite ogrencilerine ait veriler kullanilmistir. Ulkemizdeki universitelerin ve universite ogrencilerinin sayisi ozellikle 1970’lerden sonra hizla artmistir. Nitekim 1985’te acik ogrenim disindaki ogrenci sayisi 320.000 civarindayken, bu sayi 2008’de 1.5 milyona ulasmistir. Bu nedenle, illerin aldiklari goclerde egitim amacli goclerin onemi artmistir. Elimizdeki veriler, basta Istanbul, Ankara ve Izmir olmak uzere egitim amacli goclerin buyuk kismini ceken illerde, egitim amacli goclerin cok onemli paylara sahip olmadigini gostermektedir. Istanbul’un aldigi toplam gocun ancak % 8,8’i egitim amacliyken, bu oran Izmir’de % 10, Ankara’da ise % 17 duzeyindedir. Buyuk illerimizdeki bu duruma karsilik Erzurum, Nigde, Kutahya, Isparta, Trabzon, Afyonkarahisar, Burdur, Eskisehir, Konya ve Bolu gibi illerde, egitim amacli goclerin payinin % 20’nin uzerinde oldugunu dikkati cekmektedir. English Abstract: The aim of this paper is to evaluate educational migration movements between provinces for 19952000 in Turkey. For this purpose, migration data defined as a change in the permanent residence of people who are five and above, between two censuses according to the Turkish Statistical Institute and number of university students of the same period are used. The number of universities and university students has increased since 1970’s. For example, while the number of university students (not including open education) was 332.000 in 1985, it was 1.5 billion in 2008. Therefore, importance of educational migration in total population migrated across of provinces has also increased. The proportion of educational migration has low in total in-migration of the Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. For example, the proportion of educational migration are respectively 8,8 %, 17 % and 10 %. On the other hand, in-migration of the provinces such as Erzurum, Nigde, Kutahya, Isparta, Trabzon, Afyonkarahisar, Burdur, Eskisehir, Konya and Bolu the educational migrations are extremely important.
