Nilai Kearifan Lokal pada Kesenian Budaya Ondel-ondel di Tanah Betawi (Studi Daerah Khusus Ibu Kota Jakarta)

This study discusses the local wisdom values contained in the ondel-ondel art as part of the Betawi community culture in Jakarta. Ondel-ondel, which originally had a sacred function as a medium to ward off evil spirits, has undergone a transformation in function into a cultural icon and a means of entertainment, especially in the context of tourism and communal celebrations in Jakarta. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the local wisdom values in the ondel-ondel art and to understand how the Betawi community interprets and preserves this art in the midst of modernization. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, field observations, and literature studies. The results of the study show that ondel-ondel contains spiritual, social, and cultural values that reflect the identity of the Betawi community. Spiritual values are seen in the role of ondel-ondel as a symbol of protection; social values are reflected through togetherness and mutual cooperation in making and presenting ondel-ondel; while cultural values are reflected in the use of ondel-ondel as an expression of unique Betawi identity. However, commercialization and changes in the function of ondel-ondel in the modern era have obscured its original meaning, so that preservation efforts are needed so that local wisdom values are maintained. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of the role of communities and governments in preserving ondel-ondel art through educational programs and cultural promotions that maintain its traditional values.

Caring for Sekaten Traditions, Caring for Indonesia: Preserving Local Cultural Values in the Midst of Foreign Cultural Exposure

Sekaten tradition is an ancestral cultural heritage that has lasted since the days of the Islamic Mataram Kingdom. This tradition holds a philosophical meaning about the relationship of man with the Creator through the Sekaten tradition. In addition, the Sekaten procession also reflects the spirit of mutual cooperation that is closely inherent in Javanese society. Unfortunately, in today's modern era, the enthusiasm of the younger generation towards Sekaten is fading. This may threaten the preservation of this tradition in the future. Efforts to revitalize Sekaten need to be done by exploring the philosophical values and local wisdom contained in it. This excavation is important so that the meaning of this tradition remains relevant for the millennial generation. In addition, it is necessary to socialize and assist young people to love and preserve Sekaten as a local cultural identity that should be maintained. The participation of all components of society is necessary in order to maintain the existence of Sekaten in the midst of modernization, so that ancestral values are maintained and timeless by the changing times.

Konsep keluarga sakinah dalam keluarga karir menurut hukum islam (studi kasus Desa Asembagus Kecamatan Kraksaan)

Creating a sakinah mawaddah warahmah family is a benefit for every married couple in the midst of modernization which is currently taking place and has an impact on the socio-cultural environment around the family. Along with the times, the development of society's mindset and the increasingly intense struggle for gender equality in society, there is still perceived inequality towards women, then gradually women are starting to struggle to take their position in the public arena. The research method used is qualitative/field research (field research) where this research is descriptive. The data collection method was carried out through observation and interviews. The data sources used come from primary data and secondary data. The data analysis used is qualitative data analysis with an inductive thinking approach. Based on the research results, it was concluded that the concept of Sakinah in the career family according to Islamic law in Asembagus Village was formed on the basis of strong religion and an attitude of mutual openness and mutual respect between family members, working together to meet the needs of the family both spiritually and spiritually. honesty and tolerance taught to children and other family members, as well as always being grateful for the blessings and sustenance given by Allah SWT.

Rapid Increase of Female but not Male Obesity: Analysis of the 2023 Vanuatu Health Transition Project Survey on Aneityum

Globally, obesity rates are continuing to increase and countries in the midst of modernization are most vulnerable. Developing nations are undergoing a health transition alongside rapid economic modernization. The nation of Vanuatu, like other Pacific island countries, is experiencing such a transition marked by decreased cases of infectious disease and increased incidence of chronic and non-communicable diseases. Aneityum is a small and sparsely populated island in Vanuatu and is behind more developed islands in its transition. This present study is the latest in a multi-year project examining health in Vanuatu as it undergoes a health transition with an increased prevalence of chronic disease, namely cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes. In this study, we sought to continue tracking the population health on Aneityum, to analyze health differences between men and women, and to compare findings to previous data in Vanuatu. In July and August of 2023, adult males [n=41] and females [n=62] were surveyed and had their anthropometric measurements taken on Aneityum in Vanuatu. Mean anthropometric measurements (body mass index, body fat percentage, waist circumference) continued to be significantly greater among women than men (P-value < 0.05). Women exhibited higher rates of obesity in all metrics than in previous studies while men remained relatively unchanged. While men still have lower obesity rates compared to those from Efate in 2011, the women of Aneityum have reached similar levels as their counterparts from a decade ago. There is debate whether Ni-Vanuatu populations are more accurately measured by WHO or Asian-Pacific BMI cutoffs. When Asian-Pacific BMI guidelines are applied, male obesity rate rises 4.87% and the female obesity rate rises 17.74%, indicating drastically worse population health than previously thought. Potential explanations for the disparity in obesity rates between males and females include sex-associated fat distribution patterns, social inequality, and cultural habits. This paper provides valuable insights into the state of Vanuatu's health in its transitional period and a greater understanding of the interplay between sex and health.

Nilai-nilai Kearifan Lokal Kampung Naga di Era Modernisasi

Kampung Naga is a traditional village that upholds the customs, culture and beliefs of its ancestral heritage in the midst of modernization. This study aims to know and understand history, cultural elements of the livelihood system, social and community systems, religious values, arts and technology, as well as identify the values of local wisdom from the people of Kampung Naga. The data collection technique used is a type of qualitative research prioritizing observation techniques, in-depth interviews and documentation to Kuncen, Guide,and a Society of Kampung Naga. The results show that Kampung Naga is able to maintain customs even though it is in the modernization era. The five elements of culture are livelihoods, social and organizational systems, arts and technology.

Cultural Harmonization in the Midst of Modernity: A Sociological Study of the Mappacci Tradition in Bugis Weddings in Purun Village, Penukal District, Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency (PALI) South Sumatra

Mappacci tradition in the community of Purun Village, Penukal Sub-district is an integral part of social and cultural life that forms identity and togetherness in the community. In a sociological review, this tradition offers valuable insights into social dynamics, social structures, and social interactions in the context of marriage and Bugis family life living in South Sumatra. This article outlines the sociological aspects of the Mappacci tradition, including cultural symbolism, cultural reproduction, social structure and social conflict. First, the analysis of cultural symbolism in Mappacci reveals how symbols such as pacci leaves, pillows and silk sarongs not only have individual meanings, but also illustrate the values, norms and social structures inherent in Bugis society. Secondly, the role of this tradition in cultural reproduction illustrates how marriage practices and the Mappacci ritual help maintain cultural identity and social solidarity within the community of Purun Village, Penukal Sub-district from generation to generation. Furthermore, an analysis of the social structure of Mappacci highlights the importance of family hierarchy, defined social roles, and gender norms in shaping the wedding procession and the implementation of the tradition. Finally, a review of social conflicts identifies potential tensions between customary traditions and modern values, as well as efforts to maintain the relevance of the Mappacci tradition in the face of evolving social dynamics. With these sociological aspects in mind, this article aims to provide a deeper understanding of the role and significance of the Mappacci tradition in the context of Bugis social and cultural life. In addition, the article also underscores the importance of sustaining and preserving cultural traditions to ensure the continuity of a rich cultural identity amidst the ever-changing currents of modernization and globalization.

The Role of the Maluku Province Education Office in Meeting the Needs of Civics Subject Teachers

Civics subjects are also one of the important subjects that must be taught by teachers who have a Civic Education background, this is important because currently the younger generation has lost their sense of nationalism, in the midst of modernization and globalization of the times. Therefore, the role of not only the Principal is needed but the role of the region, one of which is regulated and managed by the region is the field of education, as in Law number 32 of 2004 concerning regional government article 14 paragraph 1 it is stated that the Implementation of Education is one of the mandatory affairs that is the authority of the Provincial Government and Regency / City government. And regulated in law number 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers, in article 24 paragraph 2 it is stated that the provincial government is obliged to meet the needs of teachers, both in number, academic qualifications, as well as in competence equally to ensure the continuity of secondary education and special education in accordance with their authority. The problem in this study is how the role of the Maluku provincial education office in meeting the needs of Civics subject teachers at SMA Negeri 16 Seram Barat, Manipa Islands District, West Seram Regency. The method used in this study is qualitative research method. The data collection technique that the author did consisted of two ways, namely observation and interview. The data analysis technique that the author used in this study is interactive data analysis. The results of the research obtained by the author are: The role of the education office in meeting teacher needs is by conducting recruitment of honor personnel or contract teachers and recruitment of CPNS and PPPK in accordance with the provisions of the Law.

The Urgency of Renewing Islamic Sufism (Neo-Sufism) Fazlur Rahman's Perspective in the Discourse of Modernity

Problems between modern life and Sufism concepts that tend to be extreme. is still a hot topic because it is always discussed in various scientific disciplines. To answer this problem, Fazlur Rahman with his concept of Neo-Sufism explains how this concept is understood and the researcher wants to write down how to practice the Sufi lifestyle in the midst of modernity from the perspective of the figure in question. In this study the authors used a qualitative approach which was classified into library research using descriptive data analysis. From this method, researchers process and analyze to obtain data. Based on the research results obtained, Fazlur Rahman's Neo-Sufism is an attempt at socio-moral reconstruction of Muslims or in short the concept of Sufism which is based on three basic principles, namely: Referring to the normativity of the Qur'an and Sunnah, making the Prophet and the salaf as- Sholihin as a role model in its application, is principled in the attitude of tawazun in Islam (inner religious appreciation that wants to live an active life and be involved in social practice). Fazlur Rahman said that what we need to do at this point in practicing the Sufi lifestyle is to strengthen our faith, in accordance with the principles of the Islamic creed, the same evaluation of worldly life and spiritual life, continuing to participate in political activities, using property according to with moral and social needs and improve morale through dhikr and muroqobah techniques.

The Slametan Tradition Of Seven Months Pregnancy (Mitoni) In Kedunggalar Ngawi

<p>Abstract <br />This study aims to reveal the characteristics and also the process of mitoni tradition in Javanese society, especially in Kedunggalar Ngawi East Java as radisi that is still preserved and practiced today. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews and documentation on the practice of mitoni tradition in Kedunggalar Ngawi, while data analysis was carried out descriptively. The tradition of slametan seven months of pregnancy (mitoni, tingkeban) developed with the tide of social, cultural, and religious change, but the change did not stray far from its roots. This study is expected to provide insight into the culture or tradition of mitoni in the Kedunggalar Ngawi area. This research also intends to review and revive the mitoni tradition that still exists and is practiced by the Kedunggalar community in the midst of modernization. In essence, the implementation of the mitoni tradition is a prayer request for the conceived baby and the future mother to get protection from Allah Swt. The tradition of slametan seven months of pregnancy (mitoni) is carried out by the community as gratitude to Allah Swt for all the blessings that have been given and kept away from everything unwanted and disaster.</p><p>Keywords: Tradition, Slametan, Mitoni, Tingkeban</p>

Against Modernization: The Existence of Traditional Islamic Boarding Schools in North Padang Lawas District

This research was conducted with the aim of providing a clear picture of the philosophical and sociological basis for the existence of traditional pesantren in the midst of modernization, so that it can be illustrated with strong reasons to remain with the traditional pesantren. The method chosen in this study is a qualitative method. In terms of approach, this research utilizes a field research descriptiveThe action taken by the researcher was to go to the 'field' to make observations about Against Modernization: The Existence of Traditional Islamic Boarding Schools in North Padang Lawas Regency. The findings in this study. First, the philosophical basis for the existence of traditional pesantren in the midst of modernization is the advice of the clergy, parents and because the kyai wishes to produce cadres of scholars, the great glory of teaching knowledge, and the wish to preserve the understanding of ahlussunnah wal jama'ah. The first two sociological foundations are that the pesantren still receives assistance and enthusiasm from the community, such as assistance with dormitories, classrooms, the Koran, and sending their children to these traditional pesantren. Second, because many alumni have succeeded, such as teachers, lecturers, DPR, DPRD and DPRI. The three traditional Islamic boarding schools in North Padang Lawas Regency still receive support from both the regional and central governments such as BOS funds, classrooms, multilevel dormitories and several other things. From this, the researcher concludes that traditional Islamic boarding schools will still be able to survive as they are typical in this modern era, if the traditional Islamic boarding school clerics have the right guidelines in developing their traditional Islamic boarding schools. So that the good aim is to prove to the public its ability to produce quality generations and be able to compete can be trusted by the wider community.

Local wisdom of the fisherman community (Case study of North Galesong coastal community mutual cooperation, Takalar Regency)

This study examines the traditional local wisdom of the fishing community, North Galesong. This study aims to describe the position of local wisdom in the midst of modernity. This study uses a case study qualitative approach. Data obtained from primary and secondary sources. The data collection technique is done by interview, observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the local wisdom of mutual cooperation in the withdrawal of fishing boats in North Galesong has faded since the entry of modernity contamination. The change in the towing of the ship is based on rational considerations related to the effectiveness of work and respect for other community activities. The towing of ships carried out in mutual cooperation is more costly and time consuming. Towing ships using modern tools such as excavators is more efficient.

Abstrac : One of the most important pillars in Indonesia economy is MSMEs (Micro Small Medium Enterprises). But unfortunately, currently the pandemic become the one of the biggest problems for MSMEs to survive. COVID-19 pandemic changed all human lives, especially in the economic aspect. This crises cause income decreased and even so many company terminated their employee. Not only that, there are so many government regulations which cause restrictions to be able to increase their sales transactions of MSMEs products. Unbalanced between production and operation causing loss at their end. Offcourse, in this case, creativity and innovation are needed to be able to survive. Currently, MSMEs must do business development, innovate and keep fighting in the midst of modernization. The utilization of digital platform as the one of media promotion and MSMEs sales channel turned out to be less influential, due to the decrease in consumer purchasing power. Cooperation and support from various parties are needed, especially from government, marketplace and logistic companies that care about MSMEs which affected by the pandemic.

Dimensions of Multicultural Education for Equal Rights

Opening the horizons of teachers becomes urgent in reading diversity as a necessity in the educational environment. The purpose of this study is to reformulate the meaning of education that seats students as human beings who continue to grow, and abandon violence in the world of education. Madrasa is homogeny religious, so the pattern of diversity in question is cognitive, physical and socio-cultural-economic. This research was carried out by ethnographic method with the locus of MTs throughout Cilacap Regency. The results showed: 1) The reading of diversity is interpreted in the historical sense of diversity in the Bhineka Tunggal Ika; 2) Madrasa as the cultivation of diversity values is carried out by changing the curriculum, strategies, learning models and methods, and Teachers' views on diversity; 3) Praxis for the implementation of multicultural education in madrasas is carried out by: integrative learning plans based on diversity backgrounds; Plural Classroom Management and Diversity Learning Strategies; Ethnic Studies and Social Communication Interactions and Interpersonal Relationships; Madrasa as a Medium for Maintaining Tradition in the midst of Modernity.

Tourism has established itself as one of the most important factors for the global community, particularly for the people of South Nias, who still preserve and present natural and cultural beauty that remains intact even in the midst of modernity, alongside changes and improvements in social, cultural, and economic factors. The presence of present tourists will, of course, generate a favorable response. Thus, to prevent this from happening, a solution is needed, namely by providing teaching or socialization in the form of training of tour guide for the next generation. The community services program organized by Warmadewa University and Nias Raya University which aim to educate and increase the interest of the younger generation regarding the preservation of the tour guide and the awareness of tourism destination, this also has a relationship with cultural and linguistic aspects. Technically, the method used in this research was qualitative research through the interview stage to find out partner problems. The source of data used in this study is primary data by conducting field observations to find out the problems faced by the students of English Language Study Program in Nias Raya University. The results showed that there was an increase in understanding the tour guides profession and being able to describe instructions or tourist attractions in practice.

EKSISTENSI BARZANJI DI TENGAH MODERNISASI (Studi Kasus di Kelurahan Cabenge Kecamatan Lilirilau Kabupaten Soppeng)

This study describes the existence of barzanji in the midst of modernization in Cabenge Village, Lilirilau District, Soppeng Regency. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research using a sociological and phenomenological approach. The theory used in this research is Kirkegaard's theory of existence. According to Kirkegaard, existence is a brave decision taken by humans to determine their lives, and accept the consequences that humans have taken. The results of this study indicate that (1) the existence of barzanji in the midst of modernization among parents has not experienced any change or fading of tradition, whether it is the way of implementation. The knowledge of the Cabenge community about barzanji continues to this day (2) the impact of modernization on the existence of barzanji, in the Cabenge community among young people, it seems that they want to eliminate the barzanji tradition because they have chosen technology, rather than learning to pray.

STATEGI KOMUNIKASI DALAM MEPERTAHANKAN EKSISTENSI WAYANG KULIT PADA BERSIH DESA (Studi pada Ritual Bersih Desa di Desa Siraman Kecamatan Kesamben Kabupaten Blitar)

Bersih Desa is a hereditary tradition in Javanese culture. Bersih Desa is a form of the union of humans with nature and a form of gratitude to the Creator, namely God Almighty. Clean Village can be defined as a form of gratitude for both the harvest, health, and prosperity. So in the Bersih Desa event, a shadow puppet cultural art performance is always held. The existence of shadow puppets in Java until now shows that they are still popular in the midst of the audience. The ability of wayang kulit to survive from generation to generation is something that proves that wayang kulit is an art that not only contains Javanese cultural values ​​but is a personal need for wayang kulit fans because wayang kulit shows have messages and advice conveyed to the audience. The ability of wayang kulit that persists in the midst of modernization and globalization, socioculturally this wayang kulit adapts to developments in society. Psychologically, wayang kulit is still firmly attached to the minds of its fans. The shadow puppet show in Bersih Desa event must still exist in the community so it is very important to have a communication strategy in maintaining its existence, one of which is in Bersih Desa event to preserve the local cultural heritage of the ancestors.
 This study uses a descriptive qualitative method regarding communication strategies in maintaining the existence of wayang kulit at Bersih desa, with the support of literature studies and observations or observations of wayang kulit performances. Data was collected using interviews, literature and documentation. By using a descriptive method, the results of the communication strategy in maintaining the existence of wayang kulit at Bersih desa can be described in depth, detail and holistically.
 The communication strategy in maintaining the existence of wayang kulit at Bersih Desa is carried out by planning communication (communication planning) and communication management (communicatiom management) to achieve a goal. Communication strategy planning is carried out by covering: a.) Identify the target audience,b.) Build what you want to achieve c.) Think about what should be included in the message d.) How much commitment is required, smutual respect for intergenerational culture so as to create a good correlation. e.) Choose the right media channel, f.) Communication plan, to provide information to g.) Measure the success achieved, h.) The communication program that has been implemented needs to be evaluated to find out the extent of the success achieved, Communication management oncommunication strategy in maintaining the existence of wayang kulit at Bersih Desa carried out with activities including: implementation activities, organizing, directing, controlling, influencing the level of success, recipients, successful communication strategies or not, it is necessary to review the implementation of communication activities, effective & efficient on communication strategies, supporting factors for wayang kulit.

Eksistensi Masjid Pesisir Di Tengah Badai Covid-19

Masjid Pasa is located in the Preparatory Pariaman City. Masjid and strong traditional values ​​are able to compete in the midst of society that has experienced changes due to covid-19. Covid-19 does not rule out the possibility of eliminating the traditional values ​​of the Masjid. Existence can be maintained because of the ability of the Masjid to maintain the elements it has.
 This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data obtained from key informants and supporting informants.
 The results showed that, Masjid Pasa is still alive today, even though Masjid Pasa is in the midst of a society that has experienced changes and developments due to covid-19. The ability of the Masjid to keep its elements in balance with one another in the midst of modernization is the key to the sustainability of the Masjid.
