Study on the Development of Demagnetizing System for Hub Bearing Inner of Automobile

Demagnetizer has been used in the field of non-destructive test or processing as a tool for removing residual magnetic created on the surface of processed object. In case of residual magnetic left on the part, metal particles around them adhere with each other causing the destruction or abrasion on the part. This study is to develop automatic demagnetizing system for improving the quality of processed items by designing the residual magnetic measuring system, demagnetizing system, and total system to detect magnetic that is derived on parts in the middle of processing in application to bearing process. For this, control system, measuring system, and HMI program that managed them were developed making it feasible to expect the application of them on various automatic processing.

Impeachment, Political Crisis and Democracy in Brazil

The year 2016 was marked by the deepening of the crisis that interrupted two de­cades of unusual political stability in Brazil. Although it has been the most signifi­cant event, Dilma Rousseff’s impeachment did little to “stop the bleeding,” as was shown by the subsequent arrest of the former president of the Chamber of Depu­ties, Eduardo Cunha (PMDB), and the unfolding of Operation Car Wash (Lava Jato). Besides the economic problems, the Brazilian political system also faced a serious crisis of legitimacy: the main parties were put in check, and a period of uncertainty regarding electoral and partisan competition opened up. In this article, we will re­view the sequence of the events, exploring some of the factors that explain it, and, aware of the fact that we are in the middle of process with an undefined outcome, we would like to take advantage of the opportunity to resume the debate on the performance of Brazilian democracy as well its perspectives.

Fracture Analysis of CNG High Pressure Container using Fractography and Measurement of Property

Bursting accidents of pressure containers due to design and manufacturing defects are frequently occurring. Due to high-pressure gas or harmful substances, when this vessel is fractured, it can lead to catastrophic disasters. Especially, in the event of bursting accident of composite pressure vessel for CNG bus, many unspecified people can be damaged. Most of the accidents were caused by problems in the manufacturing process. The manufacturing process for TYPE2 pressure vessel is very complicated such as three drawing processes, two ironing processes and one spinning process. In the middle of process, various heat treatments are performed for imparting toughness and removing residual stresses. It should cause a serious problem such as bursting and fragmentation of the pressure container due to defects of this process. In this research, the fracture cause of CNG vessel is evaluated through fractography and measuring material property using IIT and analysis of chemical composition.

Mathematical Modeling of the Actual Infiltration Process for the Preparation of C/C Composites

The mathematical modeling for the preparation of C/C composites from propane by F-CVI (Forced-flow Chemical Vapor Infiltration) was studied. The modeling for the actual processes including overturning the preform in the middle of the deposition process was carried out. Effects of the interval and the number of overturning processes on the time changes of porosity distribution were observed. The actual deposition process could be continued longer by overturning the preform. Furthermore, the total amount of deposition increased twice when several times of overturning were applied. It was confirmed that a low concentration and a slow reaction rate are necessary for a uniform infiltration even when the preform is overturned in the middle of the process.

A TRIAL FOR THE HAZARD RISK ASSESSMENT OF GLOBAL WARMING BY REGIONAL CLIMATE CHANGE MODEL

The influence of global warming to hazard risk is estimated from the results of regional climate change models by Japan Meteorological Agency and Meteorological Research Institute. The output size of the models is about 20km. Before risk assessment, the outputs were checked through comparisons among monitoring data, those from global climate change models and regional climate change models in 1981-2000. The comparison shows that the outputs of regional climate change models are meaningful only in the east parts of Japan, while those in the west need recalculation. Even though the recalculation are in the middle of process, the results hows that the annual maximum daily precipitation in 2081-2100 will increasei n the southern Hokkaido, Sanriku, southern Tohoku, and middle Kanto plain while the change on flood risk will differ region by region. It also shows that seasonal precipitation in 2081-2100 will decrease from winter and spring in many parts of the eastern Japan. This study implies that more detailed analysis in regional bases will be needed for flood and drought risk analyses.

Side-by-side wafer bonding of InP for use with stepper-based lithography

We have developed a simple technique for wafer bonding for use with stepper-based lithography. The technique involves side-by-side bonding of two or more pieces of a wafer together with epoxy. A bonded wafer with the same dimensions, such as thickness, flatness, and position of the large flat, as a whole wafer can be run on a stepper. Since a stepper can align each field independently, all of the area without the actual bond may be patterned. This technique is quite useful for salvaging a broken wafer in the middle of processing. In addition, it may be used for bonding several substrates of different materials together for monolithic integration.
