In recent years the problems of programmed instruction have become the subject of research for many scholars both here and abroad. Personnel of the volunteer Laboratory of Mathematical and Cybernetic Methods in Pedagogy under the Azerbaijan (M. F. Akhundov) Teacher Training Institute for Languages have devoted their efforts to the study and explanation of the comparative effectiveness of different principles and methods for the determination of logical structures of educational material and tasks, the psychological structure of their presentation and problems pertaining to it, the proper amounts of educational material and tasks, algorithms of the operations and the system of study, and the forms and methods for controlling the course of instruction and correcting it.
