Banking and Financial Contract Review (BaFiCoRe) Framework: Next-Gen Contract Review Framework for Investment Banking and Financial Services

In the fast-changing landscape of Banking and Financial services, effective Investment contract review is for maintaining regulatory compliance, mitigating risks, and ensuring transparency among partners / institutions / clients and their stakeholders. Traditional methods of manual contract review, which often involve labor-intensive and repetitive processes, particularly when handling larger volumes of complex agreements. This paper proposes the BaFiCoRe (Banking and Financial Contract Review) Framework, which harnesses the capabilities of Generative AI (GenAI) and Blockchain technologies to revolutionize the contract review processes. GenAI is employed to automate critical tasks such as contract analysis, adherence to accounting standards and conclusions (including U.S GAAP – U.S Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and IFRS – International Financial Reporting Standards) and identification of discrepancies, thereby significantly minimizing errors and improving efficiency. Concurrently, Blockchain technology is employed to address the challenges in contract verification, secure storage, and the transparent audit trails. By integrating GenAI and Blockchain technologies, the BaFiCoRe Framework provides transformative methodology for contract review, ensuring consistent governance, enhanced security, and operational effectiveness, ultimately fostering a more transparent and innovative banking and financial service industry.

Design of an enhanced feature point matching algorithm utilizing 3D laser scanning technology for sculpture design.

As the aesthetic appreciation for art continues to grow, there is an increased demand for precision and detailed control in sculptural works. The advent of 3D laser scanning technology introduces transformative new tools and methodologies for refining correction systems in sculpture design. This article proposes a feature point matching algorithm based on fragment measurement and the iterative closest point (ICP) methodology, leveraging 3D laser scanning technology, namely Fragment Measurement Iterative Closest Point Feature Point Matching (FM-ICP-FPM). The FM-ICP-FPM approach uses the overlapping area of the two sculpture perspectives as a reference for attaching feature points. It employs the 3D measurement system to capture physical point cloud data from the two surfaces to enable the initial alignment of feature points. Feature vectors are generated by segmenting the region around the feature points and computing the intra-block gradient histogram. Subsequently, distance threshold conditions are set based on the constructed feature vectors and the preliminary feature point matches established during the coarse alignment to achieve precise feature point matching. Experimental results demonstrate the exceptional performance of the FM-ICP-FPM algorithm, achieving a sampling interval of 200. The correct matching rate reaches an impressive 100%, while the mean translation error (MTE) is a mere 154 mm, and the mean rotation angle error (MRAE) is 0.065 degrees. The indicator represents the degree of deviation in translation and rotation of the registered model, respectively. These low error values demonstrate that the FM-ICP-FPM algorithm excels in registration accuracy and can generate highly consistent three-dimensional models.

MHD nanofluid flow over a thin needle: Impact of second‐order slip and variable thermal properties

AbstractThe complexity of second‐order slip flow phenomena demonstrated by magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) nanofluids passing through a thin needle with dynamically changing thermal characteristics is explored in this article. It delves deeply into the mutual effects of thermophoretic and Brownian motion and analyzes the implications of MHD. Specifically, temperature‐dependent variations in the viscosity and thermal conductivity of the nanofluid are observed, and the boundary contact is subject to a strict zero mass flow constraint. Employing transformative methodologies, the governing equations are transmuted into a set of intricate ordinary differential equations (ODEs), systematically tackled using the sophisticated MATLAB bvp4c algorithm to furnish precise numerical solutions. This research provides important new understandings of the complex dynamics of nanofluids surrounding thin needles, clarifying their relevance in many engineering contexts. The study reveals that the rate of heat transfer is enhanced for the higher surface needle thickness, and the fluid with higher viscosity yields a decrease in the temperature of the fluid.

Transformational Leadership Strategies in Public Elementary Schools in Koronadal City: A Comprehensive Analysis of Leadership Dimensions

This research assesses the transformational leadership strategies of school leaders in public elementary schools in Koronadal City, Philippines. Rooted in Bass and Avolio's Transformational Leadership Theory, it handles four essential dimensions: idealized influence, inspiring motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. The study targets gaps in understanding transformative leadership techniques in underrepresented and resource-constrained contexts, notably in Koronadal City’s school system. Employing a descriptive research approach, the study obtained data via a validated five-point Likert-scale survey given to 15 school leaders. A statistical analysis found that leaders successfully offered ethical role modeling and inspirational motivation, building employee trust and excitement. However, constraints were noted in producing attractive ideas and satisfying particular staff demands, stressing issues related to restricted resources and professional growth opportunities. These results correspond with worldwide studies underscoring the advantages of transformational leadership but emphasized the inherent limits of under-resourced conditions, such as resistance to change and lack of support networks. The research underlines the significance of specialized training programs, increased resource allocation, and context-sensitive leadership actions. Future research should embrace longitudinal designs and examine the integration of digital technologies to foster transformative methodologies. This research adds to the expanding body of evidence on transformational leadership, underscoring its important role in promoting creativity, cooperation, and improved educational achievement in resource-limited situations.

Unveiling the Critical Role of High/Low‐Index Facets in Nanostructured Energy Materials for Enhancing the Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting

The surface properties of nanostructured materials, especially the role of facets, have emerged as a central focus in improving photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance. High/Low‐index facets in semiconductor nanostructures feature unique atomic structures, chemical reactivity, and electronic characteristics, critically influencing light absorption, charge separation, and catalytic activity, significantly enhancing the PEC efficiency. High‐index facets, distinguished by distinct atomic structures, generally demonstrate enhanced catalytic activity owing to their higher surface energy and increased density of reactive sites. However, they tend to be less stable compared to low‐index facets. In contrast, low‐index facets offer better thermodynamic stability but may have reduced catalytic activity. Achieving the balance between these properties is critical for designing materials that maximize performance and durability in PEC water‐splitting applications. Recent developments in synthetic techniques, including hydrothermal/solvothermal procedures and epitaxial growth, have facilitated precise control over the exposure of specific facets, allowing for the customization of nanostructured materials to optimize efficiency. This review paper comprehensively analyzes the faceted materials and their diverse methodologies for synthesis, modification, and transformation of geometrical arrangements into facets of various semiconductor materials. A deeper understanding of crystal‐facet engineering in crystals with tailored configurations has revealed substantial potential for the systematic design and synthesis of advanced micro‐/nanostructures.

Coarse-Grained Task Parallelization by Dynamic Profiling for Heterogeneous SoC-Based Embedded System

In this study, we introduce a methodology for automatically transforming user applications written in C/C++ to a parallel representation consisting of coarse-grained tasks based on dynamic profiling. Such a parallel representation is suitable for mapping applications onto heterogeneous SoCs. We present our approach for instrumenting the user application binary during the compilation process with parallel primitives that enable the runtime system to schedule and execute independent computation-intensive coarse-grained tasks concurrently. We use the proposed compilation and code transformation methodology to retarget each application for execution on a heterogeneous SoC composed of processor cores and accelerators. We demonstrate the capabilities of our integrated compile time and runtime flow through task-level parallelization and functionally correct execution of real-world applications in the communication systems and radar processing domains. We demonstrate the functionality of our integrated system by executing six distinct applications with different degrees of parallelism on four different platforms: an eight-core general-purpose processor, a heterogeneous SoC simulator, and two heterogeneous SoCs utilizing the Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ FPGA and the Nvidia Jetson AGX board. Our integrated approach offers a path forward for application developers to take full advantage of the target SoC without requiring users to become hardware or parallel programming experts.

Developing a Community of Practice (CoP) on Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) in a Global Network of Women’s Funds

This paper provides a structured description and analysis of the development and implementation of a community of practice (CoP) framework for monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) within women’s funds (WF) around the world, particularly members of the Prospera International Network of Women’s Funds (Prospera-INWF). The Prospera-INWF is the global hub of women’s funds that advocates for resource justice within philanthropy. It supports its 44 members in strengthening institutional capacity that is critical for women’s funds to be resilient and transform the world for women, girls, trans, intersex, and non-binary people and their communities. Co-authors are three members of the Prospera-INWF Secretariat Team, one representative of a multi-regional fund, and two technical consultants who were involved in the CoP development process. Considerations for how feminist principles strengthened the design and implementation of the CoP are discussed. Emergent key learnings of applying feminist principles to develop a CoP that focuses on feminist MEL practice are detailed, including CoPs as a critical, transformative methodology (and not merely a technical strategy). While learnings are gleaned through the specific Prospera-INWF CoP, they may provide useful insights for researchers and practitioners of MEL, adult learning, and evaluation capacity building (ECB), particularly those aiming to engage feminist principles in their work.

Looking beyond relative age to understand relative advantage and disadvantage in talent development.

In this perspective article, we argue for a broader consideration of relative advantages and disadvantages in youth sport; a lens that considers the complex biopsychosocial factors that influence athlete development beyond relative age. We begin with a brief overview of Relative Age Effects (RAEs), with a particular focus on the proposed underlying mechanisms, followed by a discussion of the cultural and organisational considerations and implications that talent systems must consider when implementing interventions to counteract RAEs. We conclude by proposing key directions for future research in respect to RAEs and talent development more broadly. We argue that there is a need to consider the highly complex nature of RAEs, but also that there are no clear solutions to the issue of RAEs in youth sports, and that proposed solutions may come with unintended consequences. This should encourage us to experiment more, not less, with diverse ways of providing meaningful sports experiences that promote learning, psychosocial development, and performance. We suggest an urgent need for greater practical and research focus on supporting coaches, as they have the greatest capacity to understand the needs of individual athletes. In addition, systemically working towards equal access to skilful coaches. We encourage a shift in focus beyond descriptive methodologies of RAEs toward transformative research methodologies that include action-based research, complex interventions that incorporate context-sensitive qualitative methods, and other participatory research approaches.

Genes to therapy: a comprehensive literature review of whole-exome sequencing in neurology and neurosurgery

Whole-exome sequencing (WES), a ground-breaking technology, has emerged as a linchpin in neurology and neurosurgery, offering a comprehensive elucidation of the genetic landscape of various neurological disorders. This transformative methodology concentrates on the exonic portions of DNA, which constitute approximately 1% of the human genome, thus facilitating an expedited and efficient sequencing process. WES has been instrumental in advancing our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases, neuro-oncology, cerebrovascular disorders, and epilepsy by revealing rare variants and novel mutations and providing intricate insights into their genetic complexities. This has been achieved while maintaining a substantial diagnostic yield, thereby offering novel perspectives on the pathophysiology and personalized management of these conditions. The utilization of WES boasts several advantages over alternative genetic sequencing methodologies, including cost-effectiveness, reduced incidental findings, simplified analysis and interpretation process, and reduced computational demands. However, despite its benefits, there are challenges, such as the interpretation of variants of unknown significance, cost considerations, and limited accessibility in resource-constrained settings. Additionally, ethical, legal, and social concerns are raised, particularly in the context of incidental findings and patient consent. As we look to the future, the integration of WES with other omics-based approaches could help revolutionize the field of personalized medicine through its implications in predictive models and the development of targeted therapeutic strategies, marking a significant stride toward more effective and clinically oriented solutions.Graphical

Detecting damage on engine mounts using hilbert-huang transform vibration analysis

Engine mounts, which are usually composed of elastomeric materials like rubber that can absorb excessive vibrations, are built to withstand vibration sources from engines. Engine mounts may eventually degrade from extended use. When rubber products age or sustain damage, they may grow harder and crack. Engine mounts need to be maintained regularly to ensure optimal performance. Visual examinations and the detection of excessive vibrations can be used to accomplish this. Vibration sensors are mounted on the engine mount in axial, vertical, and horizontal orientations using a vibration detection technique utilizing the Hilbert-Huang Transform (HHT) methodology. Matlab is used to examine the data that is gathered at three distinct rotational speeds: 750 rpm, 2000 rpm, and 3000 rpm. The HHT approach combines two key components: the Hilbert Transform, which analyzes the time-frequency signal of the first decomposition until only residuals remain, and Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD), which breaks down the signal into Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMFs). According to test data, a damaged mount had an amplitude of 0.00005212 m/s² and a frequency of 8 Hz. On the other hand, in typical circumstances, the highest frequency was 7 Hz with the same amplitude. Five frequency increases were made in the damaged mount throughout this operation. In the damaged mount, the Hilbert Transform showed a frequency of 2124 Hz with an amplitude of 0.007594 m/s², indicating a significant resonance. This illustrates how the Hilbert-Huang Transform's capacity to handle non-stationary and nonlinear signal forms allows it to detect damage in components efficiently

This article examines the implementation of the doctrine of Christ (christology) in the context of contemporary Christian religious education. Through a comprehensive analysis of current literature and pedagogical perspectives, this research explores the challenges and strategies in integrating Christological understanding into the Christian religious education curriculum. Using a qualitative approach and content analysis, this article identifies three main areas: 1) the theological foundations for Christology-based education, 2) contemporary challenges in the implementation of Christ's doctrine, and 3) pedagogical strategies for effective integration. The research results show that effective implementation of Christology requires a balance between doctrinal fidelity and contextual relevance, supported by a transformative learning methodology.

A Review on Advancement in Analytical Quality by Design (AQbD)

Analytical Quality by Design (AQbD) represents a transformative methodology in pharmaceutical development, anchored in a systematic, risk-based, and data-driven framework. This approach optimizes analytical methods, fostering heightened product quality, efficient regulatory compliance, and informed decision-making. The industry's increasing acceptance of AQbD principles signifies a paradigm shift towards enhanced efficiency, sustainability, and global harmonization. This review comprehensively explores AQbD principles, regulatory perspectives, and its applications, particularly in analytical method development, including high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC). Emphasis is placed on the symbiotic relationship between AQbD and analytical method validation (AMV), elucidating their collective role in ensuring reliable and accurate analytical results. Integrating AQbD in method transfer, automation, and control strategies underscores its pivotal role in achieving robust, efficient, and compliant analytical processes. The review delves into lifecycle management and continuous improvement, coupled with AQbD principles, ensuring sustained method reliability throughout the pharmaceutical product lifecycle. AQbD's significant contribution to pharmaceutical lifecycle management, optimization, and change control is explored, emphasizing its systematic, data-driven, and risk-based approach to method development, validation, and ongoing enhancement. This review illuminates AQbD's transformative impact on pharmaceutical analysis, aligning with industry trends toward quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Optimized Fabrication of Flexible Paper‐Based PCBs with Pencil and Copper Electroplating

AbstractThis research unveils a transformative methodology for fabricating flexible printed circuit boards (PCBs), focusing on the unique attributes of filter paper substrates. A meticulous parametric exploration scrutinizes critical aspects such as buckling resistance, charging current, plating time, and electrode configurations for copper electroplating. Key findings highlight the exceptional stability of copper electroplating on filter paper, exhibiting robust resistance against environmental variations and bending angles spanning +180° to −180°. Utilizing higher pencil grade material and maintaining a minimum 4 cm distance with a voltage range of 3 to 1.44 V ensures uniform, controlled plating without burning, optimizing the electrode area below 1 cm2for enhanced practicality. The research underscores the longevity and durability of copper‐plated filter paper, with negligible resistance changes even after 1000 folds. Over a year, the shelf‐life assessment emphasizes the excellent stability of electroplated filter paper. Practical applications, including fully functional circuits and a bio‐degradable piano, underscore the versatility and real‐world feasibility of the proposed electroplating technique.

Behaviour setting transformation methodology, filling in the gaps of the conventional architectural design process.

This article recounts 6 years of empirical research in a humanitarian context on spatial behaviour using the behaviour settings theory. This research journey details the shortcomings of conventional architectural processes and the subsequent development of a human-centred behaviour setting methodology that drives behaviour change for adaptable spaces. The research work puts Barker's theory of behaviour settings into practice to show its significant methodological abilities in shaping behaviours through spaces. While the original theory was solely an analytical account of existing behaviours in certain settings, this study marks the first pragmatic exploration of the theory into both residential and refugee contexts. The methodology that is subsequently proposed is a complementary tool to account for the deficiencies of conventional architectural design processes. A method that enables one to fully immerse themselves in the environment, recognize specific architectural interventions, assess their effects and reiterate. It is a proposal for humanizing architecture, sympathizing its processes and personalizing its results for the users of any space. Soret Effect of Unsteady Parabolic Flow Past an Accelerated Vertical Plate with Constant Temperature and Mass Diffusion in t he Presence of Rotation

Objective: Circular force's detrimental effects on inhomogeneous parabola circulation over an upright slab that rapidly accelerates in uniform temperature and continuous mass dispersion are discussed. There is no electrical conductivity in the liquid in question. Methods: The solutions for the temperature, concentration, and velocity profiles were identified through the Laplace transformation methodology. Findings: Graphical drawings displaying several specifications, include the acceleration parameter, Schmidt value, Soret value, Hartmann number, thermal Grashof number are used to illustrate the results that were obtained. It is noted that as the values - thermal Grashof number -increase, speed also increases. Regarding Schmidt and Prandtl numbers, the tendency is the opposite. Novelty: The unique aspect of this work is its thorough analysis of the Soret Effect in an erratic, rotating, parabolic flow past an accelerating vertical plate with mass diffusion and constant heat. The work closes gap in the literature by addressing these particular conditions and offers insightful conclusions and useful techniques that may be used to a variety of scientific and engineering issues. This study investigates the impact of rotating effects and Soret impact on erratic convective movement in a vertical plate. Results show that Schmidt number and wall thickness increase over time, while temperature patterns rise with increasing Sr and Sc levels. The Prandtl number depends on air and water temperatures. Development of a semi-active MR inerter for seismic protection of civil structures

Civil engineering structures are susceptible to collapsing when exposed to severe vibrations. Therefore, it is essential to protect them from undesirable vibrations triggered by natural calamities like earthquakes or strong winds. This paper proposes an innovative semi-active Magnetorheological (MR) inerter system with a compact structure for seismic protection. The inerter system consists of four rubber bearings and the semi-active MR inerter. The inertance of the semi-active MR inerter can be switched according to different working scenarios. This unique operating principle enhances the adaptability of the system. To assess the performance of the proposed inerter system, a scaled three-storey building was constructed following scaling laws. Four scaled earthquake signals with different dominant frequencies were used as ground motion excitations. An inertance switch controller based on short-time Fourier transformation (STFT) methodology was built to determine the desired inertance of the inerter. Both the simulation and experimental results indicated that the proposed semi-active MR inerter system provides superior vibration mitigation capacity over the passive inerter systems. Specifically, the employment of the semi-active MR inerter effectively reduces the acceleration responses of the structures under different seismic excitations.

Cryogenic and Dissolution DNP NMR on γ-Irradiated Organic Molecules.

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) plays a central role in the elucidation of chemical structures but is often limited by low sensitivity. Dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (dDNP) emerges as a transformative methodology for both solution-state NMR and metabolic NMR imaging, which could overcome this limitation. Typically, dDNP relies on combining a stable radical with the analyte within a uniform glass under cryogenic conditions. The electron polarization is then transferred through microwave irradiation to the nuclei. The present study explores the use of radicals introduced via γ-irradiation, as bearers of the electron spins that will enhance 1H or 13C nuclides. 1H solid-state NMR spectra of γ-irradiated powders at 1-5 K revealed, upon microwave irradiation, signal enhancements that, in general, were higher than those achieved through conventional glass-based DNP. Transfer of these samples to a solution-state NMR spectrometer via a rapid dissolution driven by a superheated water provided significant enhancements of solution-state 1H NMR signals. Enhancements of 13C signals in the γ-irradiated solids were more modest, as a combined consequence of a low radical concentration and of the dilute concentration of 13C in the natural abundant samples examined. Nevertheless, ca. 700-800-fold enhancements in 13C solution NMR spectra of certain sites recorded at 11.7 T could still be achieved. A total disappearance of the radicals upon performing a dDNP-like aqueous dissolution and a high stability of the samples were found. Overall, the study showcases the advantages and limitations of γ-irradiated radicals as candidates for advancing spectroscopic dDNP-enhanced NMR.

Reflexive monitoring for sustainable transformations: A game-based workshop methodology for participatory learning

In this study, we combined reflexive monitoring—a critical assessment, evaluation, and practice-adjustment process—with participatory learning through educational games to advance transformative sustainable tourism methodologies. The methodology was tested in a workshop with tourism practitioners in Norway. Using a constructivist lens, we analysed the narratives participants shared via game artefacts, observations, and debriefings. The tourism practitioners demonstrated some signs of enhanced reflexivity, trust, innovation, inclusivity, and equity, which contributed to their collective agency for sustainability. Integrating reflexive monitoring can empower practitioners to critically assess their practices, envision alternatives, navigate sustainability complexities, and drive transformative actions. Although further testing is required, the methodology holds promise for promoting sustainable tourism practices and enhancing practitioners' skills.
