Feature extraction method for ultrasonic pipeline defects based on fractional-order VMD

ABSTRACT Ensuring the safety of pipeline transportation is vital for societal well-being. Traditional methods for identifying defects in steel pipelines through ultrasonic echo signal pattern recognition often fail to extract comprehensive and effective features crucial for accurate defect detection. This study introduces an innovative feature extraction method employing a fractional Fourier transform variational modal decomposition (FRFT-VMD), hereafter referred to as the fractional-order VMD algorithm. This method utilises the fourth-order central moment and envelope entropy to optimise several key parameters: the fractional order in the Fourier transform, the number of decomposition layers, and the penalty factor in variational modal decomposition. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, ultrasonic echo signals from both finite element simulations and experimental platforms were analysed using the FRFT-VMD technique. The features extracted were then classified using a Least Squares Support Vector Machine (LSSVM) to determine defect depths. The results show a recognition accuracy of 95.2% in simulated signals and 89.1% in experimentally measured signals across various defect depths, indicating a significant improvement over existing feature extraction methodologies. The fractional-order VMD algorithm proves to be superior in extracting features that enhance the accuracy of defect identification in steel pipelines.

Environmental risk assessment and management of nuclear power plants based on big data analysis

In traditional research, monitoring data and samples are limited, and it is difficult to achieve ideal results in real-time monitoring and rapid response to environmental risks. By leveraging extensive environmental data gathered from nuclear power plants, the research employed machine learning methodologies for accurate feature selection and extraction of environmental parameters. An efficient environmental risk assessment model was successfully established by using a random forest algorithm. The 95% confidence interval for the area under the curve value spanned from 0.6894 to 0.9292. This provided a more dynamic and effective means for assessing and managing the environmental risks of nuclear power plants.

Unveiling AI-Generated Financial Text: A Computational Approach Using Natural Language Processing and Generative Artificial Intelligence

This study is an in-depth exploration of the nascent field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), and it concentrates on the vital task of distinguishing between human-generated text and content that has been produced by AI models. Particularly, this research pioneers the identification of financial text derived from AI models such as ChatGPT and paraphrasing tools like QuillBot. While our primary focus is on financial content, we have also pinpointed texts generated by paragraph rewriting tools and utilized ChatGPT for various contexts this multiclass identification was missing in previous studies. In this paper, we use a comprehensive feature extraction methodology that combines TF–IDF with Word2Vec, along with individual feature extraction methods. Importantly, combining a Random Forest model with Word2Vec results in impressive outcomes. Moreover, this study investigates the significance of the window size parameters in the Word2Vec approach, revealing that a window size of one produces outstanding scores across various metrics, including accuracy, precision, recall and the F1 measure, all reaching a notable value of 0.74. In addition to this, our developed model performs well in classification, attaining AUC values of 0.94 for the ‘GPT’ class; 0.77 for the ‘Quil’ class; and 0.89 for the ‘Real’ class. We also achieved an accuracy of 0.72, precision of 0.71, recall of 0.72, and F1 of 0.71 for our extended prepared dataset. This study contributes significantly to the evolving landscape of AI text identification, providing valuable insights and promising directions for future research.

Research on Feature Extraction and Fault Diagnosis Method for Rolling Bearing Vibration Signals Based on Improved FDM-SVD and CYCBD

In mechanical equipment, rolling bearing components are constantly exposed to intricate and diverse environmental conditions, rendering them vulnerable to wear, performance degradation, and potential malfunctions. To precisely extract and discern rolling bearing vibration signals amidst intricate noise interference, this paper introduces a fault feature extraction and diagnosis methodology that seamlessly integrates an improved Fourier decomposition method (FDM), singular value decomposition (SVD), and maximum second-order cyclostationary blind convolution (CYCBD). Initially, the FDM is employed to meticulously decompose the bearing fault signals into numerous signal components. Subsequently, a comprehensive weighted screening criterion is formulated, aiming to strike a balance between multiple indicators, thereby enabling the selective screening and reconstruction of pertinent signal components. Furthermore, SVD and CYCBD techniques are introduced to carry out intricate processing and envelope demodulation analysis of the reconstructed signals. Through rigorous simulation experiments and practical rolling bearing fault diagnosis tests, the method’s noteworthy effectiveness in suppressing noise interference, enhancing fault feature information, and efficiently extracting fault features is unequivocally demonstrated. Furthermore, compared to traditional time–frequency analysis methods such as EMD, EEMD, ITD, and VMD, as well as traditional deconvolution methods like MED, OMEDA, and MCKD, this method exhibits significant advantages, providing an effective solution for diagnosing rolling bearing faults in environments with strong background noise.

Exploring inter-trial coherence for inner speech classification in EEG-based brain–computer interface

Objective. In recent years, electroencephalogram (EEG)-based brain–computer interfaces (BCIs) applied to inner speech classification have gathered attention for their potential to provide a communication channel for individuals with speech disabilities. However, existing methodologies for this task fall short in achieving acceptable accuracy for real-life implementation. This paper concentrated on exploring the possibility of using inter-trial coherence (ITC) as a feature extraction technique to enhance inner speech classification accuracy in EEG-based BCIs. Approach. To address the objective, this work presents a novel methodology that employs ITC for feature extraction within a complex Morlet time-frequency representation. The study involves a dataset comprising EEG recordings of four different words for ten subjects, with three recording sessions per subject. The extracted features are then classified using k-nearest-neighbors (kNNs) and support vector machine (SVM). Main results. The average classification accuracy achieved using the proposed methodology is 56.08% for kNN and 59.55% for SVM. These results demonstrate comparable or superior performance in comparison to previous works. The exploration of inter-trial phase coherence as a feature extraction technique proves promising for enhancing accuracy in inner speech classification within EEG-based BCIs. Significance. This study contributes to the advancement of EEG-based BCIs for inner speech classification by introducing a feature extraction methodology using ITC. The obtained results, on par or superior to previous works, highlight the potential significance of this approach in improving the accuracy of BCI systems. The exploration of this technique lays the groundwork for further research toward inner speech decoding.

Ultrasound Image-Based Breast Cancer Detection

Breast cancer is the second most common cause of cancer-related death in women, the definition of breast cancer has drawn attention from the bioinformatics and healthcare communities. Only by removing a sample of breast tissue from the breast, examining, and analyzing it under a microscope would this type of research be possible. In the histopathology lab, issues are found by employing skilled pathologists to examine the specimens; these issues are then further investigated utilizing specialized procedures. However, because they have experience in this field, the ultrasonography may mistakenly reveal abnormal changes or diseases. Recent pattern recognition research has revealed several areas that could be improved, therefore there is now more of an emphasis on building strong image processing experiments to provide a highly-and enhancing current diagnosis. Let's employ deep learning approaches for the image feature and the image feature extraction methodology to detect the disease types of breast tissue using histology and image recognition techniques. Before using ultrasonic feature extraction and the final classification in ultrasound feature extraction, this image can be enlarged utilizing ultrasound processing and CNN approach. A Comprehensive Feature Engineering Approach for Breast Cancer Dataset

Breast cancer continues to pose a significant challenge in the field of healthcare, serving as the primary cause of cancer-related deaths in women on a global scale. The present study aims to investigate the intricate relationship between breast cancer, statistical analysis, and feature engineering. By conducting an extensive analysis of a comprehensive dataset and employing sophisticated statistical methodologies, this research endeavor aims to unveil concealed insights that can enrich the medical community's existing knowledge base. Through the implementation of rigorous feature selection and extraction methodologies, the overarching aim is to augment the comprehension of breast cancer. Moreover, the study showcases the successful incorporation of univariate and bivariate analysis in order to enhance the accuracy of diagnostic procedures. The convergence of these disciplines exhibits considerable promise in the realm of breast cancer detection and prediction, facilitating cooperative endeavours aimed at addressing this widespread malignancy.

A Review on the Classification of Partial Discharges in Medium-Voltage Cables: Detection, Feature Extraction, Artificial Intelligence-Based Classification, and Optimization Techniques

Medium-voltage (MV) cables often experience a shortened lifespan attributed to insulation breakdown resulting from accelerated aging and anomalous operational and environmental stresses. While partial discharge (PD) measurements serve as valuable tools for assessing the insulation state, complexity arises from the presence of diverse discharge sources, making the evaluation of PD data challenging. The reliability of diagnostics for MV cables hinges on the precise interpretation of PD activity. To streamline the repair and maintenance of cables, it becomes crucial to discern and categorize PD types accurately. This paper presents a comprehensive review encompassing the realms of detection, feature extraction, artificial intelligence, and optimization techniques employed in the classification of PD signals/sources. Its exploration encompasses a variety of sensors utilized for PD detection, data processing methodologies for efficient feature extraction, optimization techniques dedicated to selecting optimal features, and artificial intelligence-based approaches for the classification of PD sources. This synthesized review not only serves as a valuable reference for researchers engaged in the application of methods for PD signal classification but also sheds light on potential avenues for future developments of techniques within the context of MV cables.

Exploring the Performance of PySpark and Scikit-Learn Libraries in Developing Fall Detection Systems

Falls pose a significant risk for the elderly population, often resulting in serious injuries and decreased quality of life. Accurate and effective fall detection systems can play an important role in reducing these risks. This study conducts a comparative analysis of the performance of PySpark and Scikit-Learn libraries in the development of fall detection models. PySpark offers a distributed computing environment specifically designed for big data processing, while Scikit-Learn is a Python-based library widely used for data analysis and machine learning. Five popular machine learning algorithms, including logistic regression, gradient boosting classifier, random forest, support vector machine, and Decision Tree, were used to build fall detection models using both PySpark and Scikit-Learn. Models were evaluated using a comprehensive set of measurements including accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and confusion matrix. In addition to the five popular machine learning algorithms included in the study, 26 different features were extracted from the Sisfall dataset, one of the most comprehensive fall and daily life activity datasets, in five main categories: basic statistical features, frequency domain features, time series features, motion features, and relational features. These features were incorporated into fall detection models to improve their ability to accurately identify falls. The findings reveal that both PySpark and Scikit-Learn provide strong and effective results in fall detection. Logistic regression emerged as the best performing algorithm in both libraries, achieving the highest accuracy rates. However, PySpark exhibited slightly longer training times compared to Scikit-Learn, which performed better in testing. Ultimately, this study will benefit researchers and practitioners involved in the development of robust and effective fall detection systems, thereby enabling improved safety and well-being for the elderly population. Additionally, it contributes to the literature by presenting a comprehensive feature extraction methodology for fall detection, which has not been explored extensively in previous research works.

IProm-Yeast: Prediction Tool for Yeast Promoters Based on ML Stacking

Background and Objective: Gene promoters play a crucial role in regulating gene transcription by serving as DNA regulatory elements near transcription start sites. Despite numerous approaches, including alignment signal and content-based methods for promoter prediction, accurately identifying promoters remains challenging due to the lack of explicit features in their sequences. Consequently, many machine learning and deep learning models for promoter identification have been presented, but the performance of these tools is not precise. Most recent investigations have concentrated on identifying sigma or plant promoters. While the accurate identification of Saccharomyces cerevisiae promoters remains an underexplored area. In this study, we introduced “iPromyeast”, a method for identifying yeast promoters. Using genome sequences from the eukaryotic yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, we investigate vector encoding and promoter classification. Additionally, we developed a more difficult negative set by employing promoter sequences rather than nonpromoter regions of the genome. The newly developed negative reconstruction approach improves classification and minimizes the amount of false positive predictions. Methods: To overcome the problems associated with promoter prediction, we investigate alternate vector encoding and feature extraction methodologies. Following that, these strategies are coupled with several machine learning algorithms and a 1-D convolutional neural network model. Our results show that the pseudo-dinucleotide composition is preferable for feature encoding and that the machine- learning stacking approach is excellent for accurate promoter categorization. Furthermore, we provide a negative reconstruction method that uses promoter sequences rather than non-promoter regions, resulting in higher classification performance and fewer false positive predictions. Results: Based on the results of 5-fold cross-validation, the proposed predictor, iProm-Yeast, has a good potential for detecting Saccharomyces cerevisiae promoters. The accuracy (Acc) was 86.27%, the sensitivity (Sn) was 82.29%, the specificity (Sp) was 89.47%, the Matthews correlation coefficient (MCC) was 0.72, and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) was 0.98. We also performed a cross-species analysis to determine the generalizability of iProm-Yeast across other species. Conclusion: iProm-Yeast is a robust method for accurately identifying Saccharomyces cerevisiae promoters. With advanced vector encoding techniques and a negative reconstruction approach, it achieves improved classification accuracy and reduces false positive predictions. In addition, it offers researchers a reliable and precise webserver to study gene regulation in diverse organisms.

A comparative study on deep learning models for condition monitoring of advanced reactor piping systems

Advanced nuclear reactors offer innovative applications due to their portability, reliability, resiliency, and high capacity factors. To operate them on a wider scale, reducing maintenance life-cycle costs while ensuring their integrity is essential. Autonomous operations in advanced nuclear reactors using augmented Digital Twin (DT) technology can serve as a cost-effective solution by increasing awareness about the system’s health. A key component of nuclear DT frameworks is the condition monitoring of safety systems, such as piping-equipment systems, which involves acquiring and monitoring the plant’s sensor data. This research proposes a condition monitoring methodology utilizing deep learning algorithms, such as multilayer perceptions (MLP) and convolutional neural networks (CNNs), to detect degradation and its severity in nuclear piping-equipment systems. Sensor signals are processed to obtain the power spectral density and the Short-Time Fourier transform, and feature extraction methodologies are proposed to develop degradation-sensitive data repositories. The performance of MLP, one-dimensional (1D) CNN, and 2D CNN within the proposed condition monitoring framework is compared using a finite element model of a 3D piping system subjected to seismic loads as the application case study. Various approaches, such as dropout, k-Fold validation, regularization, and early stopping of training the network, are investigated to avoid overfitting the models to the input sensor data. The predictive capability and computational capacity of the deep learning algorithms are also compared to detect degradation in the Z-pipe system of the Experimental Breeder Reactor II (EBRII). The Z-pipe system is subjected to harmonic excitations that represent normal operating loads, such as pump-induced vibrations. The findings of the study indicate that the proposed artificial intelligence (AI)-driven condition monitoring framework demonstrates superior prediction accuracies with a 2D CNN, whereas the MLP exhibits higher computational efficiency.

Employing combined spatial and frequency domain image features for machine learning-based malware detection

<p>The ubiquitous adoption of Android devices has unfortunately brought a surge in malware threats, compromising user data, privacy concerns, and financial and device integrity, to name a few. To combat this, numerous efforts have explored automated botnet detection mechanisms, with anomaly-based approaches leveraging machine learning (ML) gaining attraction due to their signature-agnostic nature. However, the problem lies in devising accurate ML models which capture the ever evolving landscape of malwares by effectively leveraging all the possible features from Android application packages (APKs).This paper delved into this domain by proposing, implementing, and evaluating an image-based Android malware detection (AMD) framework that harnessed the power of feature hybridization. The core idea of this framework was the conversion of text-based data extracted from Android APKs into grayscale images. The novelty aspect of this work lied in the unique image feature extraction strategies and their subsequent hybridization to achieve accurate malware classification using ML models. More specifically, four distinct feature extraction methodologies, namely, Texture and histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) from spatial domain, and discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and Gabor from the frequency domain were employed to hybridize the features for improved malware identification. To this end, three image-based datasets, namely, Dex, Manifest, and Composite, derived from the information security centre of excellence (ISCX) Android Malware dataset, were leveraged to evaluate the optimal data source for botnet classification. Popular ML classifiers, including naive Bayes (NB), multilayer perceptron (MLP), support vector machine (SVM), and random forest (RF), were employed for the classification task. The experimental results demonstrated the efficacy of the proposed framework, achieving a peak classification accuracy of 93.03% and recall of 97.1% for the RF classifier using the Manifest dataset and a combination of Texture and HOG features. These findings validate the proof-of-concept and provide valuable insights for researchers exploring ML/deep learning (DL) approaches in the domain of AMD.</p>

A Mathematical Analysis of Feature Extraction Methodologies with Application on Leaf Disease Detection

This study compares novel and established feature extraction techniques for classifying leaf diseases. Conventional methods like Transfer Learning and DCT are contrasted with novel techniques like Segmentation using a heterogeneous data set of healthy and diseased leaf images. With little training data, transfer learning is beneficial, but with large data, more efficient algorithms may be more suitable, such as the custom segmentation model described in this work. The development of efficient plant disease detection systems using the information from these discoveries would improve agricultural practises and increase food security.

High-Dimensional Mapping Entropy Method and Its Application in the Fault Diagnosis of Reciprocating Compressors

The effectiveness of feature extraction is a critical aspect of fault diagnosis for petrochemical machinery and equipment. Traditional entropy analysis methods are prone to disruption by noise, parameter sensitivity, and sudden entropy variations. This study establishes a high-dimensional mapping entropy (HDME) method characterized by robust noise resistance, addressing the issues of parameter sensitivity and inadequate noise suppression inherent in traditional feature extraction methodologies. A mapping theory of high-dimensional space based on kernel function pattern recognition is proposed, which reassembles the sample vector after phase space reconstruction of time series. The multi-scale high-dimensional mapping entropy (MHDME) and refined composite multi-scale high-dimensional mapping entropy (RCMHDME) algorithms are further studied based on the idea of refined composite multi-scale. Application to simulated signals shows that the suggested methods reduce parameter sensitivity and enhance entropy smoothness. The development of a methodology to identify faults through MHDME is proposed. This approach integrates signal preprocessing and intelligent preference techniques to achieve pattern recognition of reciprocating compressor bearings in various wear conditions. Moreover, the identification findings demonstrate that the suggested approach can effectively extract the characteristics of the signal and accurately distinguish the effects caused by different faults.

Stacking-ac4C: an ensemble model using mixed features for identifying n4-acetylcytidine in mRNA.

N4-acetylcytidine (ac4C) is a modification of cytidine at the nitrogen-4 position, playing a significant role in the translation process of mRNA. However, the precise mechanism and details of how ac4C modifies translated mRNA remain unclear. Since identifying ac4C sites using conventional experimental methods is both labor-intensive and time-consuming, there is an urgent need for a method that can promptly recognize ac4C sites. In this paper, we propose a comprehensive ensemble learning model, the Stacking-based heterogeneous integrated ac4C model, engineered explicitly to identify ac4C sites. This innovative model integrates three distinct feature extraction methodologies: Kmer, electron-ion interaction pseudo-potential values (PseEIIP), and pseudo-K-tuple nucleotide composition (PseKNC). The model also incorporates the robust Cluster Centroids algorithm to enhance its performance in dealing with imbalanced data and alleviate underfitting issues. Our independent testing experiments indicate that our proposed model improves the Mcc by 15.61% and the ROC by 5.97% compared to existing models. To test our model's adaptability, we also utilized a balanced dataset assembled by the authors of iRNA-ac4C. Our model showed an increase in Sn of 4.1%, an increase in Acc of nearly 1%, and ROC improvement of 0.35% on this balanced dataset. A Feature Extraction based Improved Sentiment Analysis on Apache Spark for Real-time Twitter Data

This paper aims to improve the accuracy of sentiment analysis on Apache Spark for a real-time general twitter data. A lot of works exist on sentiment analysis on offline or stored twitter data that uses several classification algorithms on relevant features extracted using well-known feature extraction methodologies on pre-processed text data. However, not much works exist for sentiment analysis of real-time twitter data and especially for the generic data on big data processing platforms such as Apache Spark. This paper proposes a real-time sentiment analysis for generic twitter data through Apache Spark using six classification algorithms on N-gram and Term Frequency – Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) feature extraction methodologies on the pre-processed data. An exhaustive comparison is done using Logistic Regression (LR), Multinomial Naive Bayes (MNB), Random Forest Classfier (RFC), Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbour (K-NN), and Decision Tree (DT) classification algorithms. It is observed that the trigram feature extraction method performs the best on LR and SVM and the RFC results are also comparable on the considered general tweets data.

An Analysis For Early Diagnosis To Detect Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer stands as the primary cause of mortality among gynecological cancers, creating an urgent need for innovative therapies. Despite the established correlation between the presence of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and improved prognosis, the integration of immunotherapy into the ovarian cancer treatment arsenal has not yet occurred. Over the past decades, extensive research has been dedicated to identifying early signs of ovarian cancer. Recognized as the "silent killer," ovarian cancer often remains asymptomatic in its early stages, leading to late-stage discoveries and poor prognosis. Early detection is pivotal for timely intervention based on symptomatic manifestations. Various categorization systems have been employed for ovarian tumor diagnosis, encompassing non-molecular factors such as tumor tissue, clinical stage, and pathological characteristics. These factors contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the intricate nature of cancer, guiding the development of effective therapeutic approaches. This review paper briefly outlines the preprocessing, feature extraction, and classification methodologies employed in the analysis of ovarian cancer across various studies from 2018 to 2023, encompassing several research papers.

Determination of microplastics by FTIR spectroscopy based on quaternion parallel feature fusion and support vector machine

This study proposed a FTIR spectroscopy combing with quaternion parallel feature extraction methodology for the first time to address the qualitative and quantitative analysis of microplastics. For the international available microplastic FTIR dataset, the original, the first derivative and the second derivative FTIR spectra of polyethylene(PE), PE + fouling and polypropylene(PP) samples were first formed as an integral representation by a pure quaternion matrix. Then quaternion principal component analysis(QPCA) was conducted to obtain quaternion feature vectors and support vector machine(SVM) was followed to establish the qualitative model. Meanwhile, we experimentally mixed four types of microplastics of polyvinyl chloride(PVC), polystyrene (PS), PP and PE into sand to prepare simulated samples and collected their FTIR spectra. The concentrations of microplastics were 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 3%, 5%, 10%, respectively. The QPCA based parallel feature extraction combing with SVR was conducted to establish the quantitative model. The results show that QPCA has transcended traditional PCA and serial feature extraction methods. Furthermore, compared with traditional algorithms of PLS, BPNN, RF, and 1D-CNN, QPCA-SVM has achieved the highest values of accuracy, precision, recall and F1-score, which were 0.98571, 1, 0.99412 and 0.99697, respectively. QPCA-SVR has achieved the smallest RMSEP for four kinds of microplastics, which were 0.26361, 0.80558, 0.37099, and 0.16246, respectively. This work demonstrates QPCA fuses more spectral characteristics and reduces the redundancy of the complex vector, which is beneficial to improve the recognition and regression ability of SVM. The “QPCA enabled FTIR spectroscopy technique” in this study provides a new idea to promote the rapid and accurate determination of microplastics.

Radiomics in the evaluation of ovarian masses — a systematic review

ObjectivesThe study aim was to conduct a systematic review of the literature reporting the application of radiomics to imaging techniques in patients with ovarian lesions.MethodsMEDLINE/PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, EMBASE, Ovid and ClinicalTrials.gov were searched for relevant articles. Using PRISMA criteria, data were extracted from short-listed studies. Validity and bias were assessed independently by 2 researchers in consensus using the Quality in Prognosis Studies (QUIPS) tool. Radiomic Quality Score (RQS) was utilised to assess radiomic methodology.ResultsAfter duplicate removal, 63 articles were identified, of which 33 were eligible. Fifteen assessed lesion classifications, 10 treatment outcomes, 5 outcome predictions, 2 metastatic disease predictions and 1 classification/outcome prediction. The sample size ranged from 28 to 501 patients. Twelve studies investigated CT, 11 MRI, 4 ultrasound and 1 FDG PET-CT. Twenty-three studies (70%) incorporated 3D segmentation. Various modelling methods were used, most commonly LASSO (least absolute shrinkage and selection operator) (10/33). Five studies (15%) compared radiomic models to radiologist interpretation, all demonstrating superior performance. Only 6 studies (18%) included external validation. Five studies (15%) had a low overall risk of bias, 9 (27%) moderate, and 19 (58%) high risk of bias. The highest RQS achieved was 61.1%, and the lowest was − 16.7%.ConclusionRadiomics has the potential as a clinical diagnostic tool in patients with ovarian masses and may allow better lesion stratification, guiding more personalised patient care in the future. This paper introduces a machine learning-centric approach to fall detection, harnessing sensor data and advanced algorithms to enhance precision and responsiveness. The system employs an array of sensors, such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, and depth cameras, for continuous monitoring of user movements. These sensor data undergo processing via machine learning algorithms, encompassing deep neural networks and feature extraction methodologies, to achieve precise fall detection while minimizing false positives.
