The article discusses modern innovative technologies used in the field of wastewater treatment. Special attention is paid to the principles of operation, advantages and applications of technologies such as membrane bioreactors, anaerobic reactors, aerobic granular precipitation, photocatalytic and electrochemical purification, as well as bio- and nanofiltration. The analysis of the experience of the implementation of these technologies in various countries, including successful cases demonstrating the improvement of the quality of water resources and increasing the efficiency of water treatment systems. The experience of Kazakhstan is considered separately, where the use of advanced wastewater treatment methods is becoming an important element of environmental safety. A comparative analysis of the effectiveness of the use of technologies in Kazakhstan and abroad is carried out, the main factors influencing the success of their implementation in the country are highlighted.
