A novel metal–organic supramolecular framework constructed by benzene-1,2,4-tricarboxylate: {[Fe(phen)(btc)(OH 2)] 2 · CH 3CH 2OH} n (btc=benzene-1,2,4-tricarboxylate)

A new metal–organic hybrid compound {[Fe(phen)(btc)(OH 2)] 2 · CH 3CH 2OH} n 1, has been solvatothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. Compound 1 exhibits a novel supramolecular framework which constructed by {[Fe(phen)(btc)(OH 2)] 2} dimers and the guest ethanol molecules.
