Interfacial compatible PolyMOF membranes as ratiometric fluorescence temperature sensors

Cryogenic temperature sensors play significant roles in manufacturing, metallurgy, and aerospace. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as emerging crystal materials exhibited inherent advantages as fluorescence temperature sensors and researchers have shifted their focus toward incorporating MOFs materials into mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) for broader practical applications. However, the poor interfacial compatibility between MOFs particles and the polymer matrix would cause aggregation-induced fluorescence quenching and reduced energy transfer efficiency, thereby compromising temperature sensing performances. Herein, we adopt a post-synthetic copolymerization strategy to realize an interfacial-compatible membranous ratiometric luminescent thermometer based on the emissions of ligands and lanthanide ions. Benefiting from the controllable covalent cross-linking structures, the designed polyMOF membrane exhibited excellent interfacial compatibility and avoided MOFs irregular morphology agglomeration and phase separation, which contributed to outstanding fluorescence temperature sensing performance with excellent sensitivity ranging from 0.300 to 0.745 %·K−1 within the temperature range of 80–300 K, superior to recent reported MOFs-based thermometers. This research presents a promising approach for the design and fabrication of interfacial compatible MOFs-based membranes with excellent fluorescence temperature sensing properties, advancing the understanding of structure-property relationships and accelerating the practical applications.

The Surface of Colloidal Metal-Organic Framework Nanoparticles Revealed by Vibrational Sum Frequency Scattering Spectroscopy.

Solvation shells strongly influence the interfacial chemistry of colloidal systems, from the activity of proteins to the colloidal stability and catalysis of nanoparticles. Despite their fundamental and practical importance, solvation shells have remained largely undetected by spectroscopy. Furthermore, their ability to assemble at complex but realistic interfaces with heterogeneous and rough surfaces remains an open question. Here, we apply vibrational sum frequency scattering spectroscopy (VSFSS), an interface-specific technique, to colloidal nanocrystals with porous metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as a case study. Due to the porous nature of the solvent-particle boundary, MOF particles challenge conventional models of colloidal and interfacial chemistry. Their multiweek colloidal stability in the absence of conventional surface ligands suggests that stability may arise in part from solvation forces. Spectra of colloidally stable Zn(2-methylimidazolate)2 (ZIF-8) in polar solvents indicate the presence of ordered solvation shells, solvent-metal binding, and spontaneous ordering of organic bridging linkers within the MOF. These findings help explain the unexpected colloidal stability of MOF colloids, while providing a roadmap for applying VSFSS to wide-ranging colloidal nanocrystals in general.

Sustainable metal-organic framework based paper sheet as wallpaper for passive indoor moisture control

Passive indoor moisture control is a meaningful way to reduce HVAC operation and improve building energy efficiency. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been considered one of the most promising sorbent materials for passive indoor moisture control. However, the powder form of MOF is challenging to use in the built environment. Typical shaping methods like pellets, beads, and coating can lead to problems like partial pore blocking, insufficient mechanical stability, amorphization, and low material utilization. Here, we report a new sustainable MOF paper sheet comprising 25% cellulosic fibers and 75% MOF MIL-100(Fe) powder. The porous polymer matrix provides good support and fixation for MOF particles, so it’s more applicable in the built environment. The crystalline and pore structure characteristics of the MOF in the membrane are well preserved. Hydro characteristic test results show that MIL-100(Fe) paper sheet has high water vapor uptake, S-shape isotherm, mild regeneration condition, and high MBV. Then, a numerical model was developed to calculate the relation between a material’s MBV and its thickness. MIL-100(Fe) paper sheet with the most efficient thickness was applied as wallpaper in a building energy simulation model. The simulation result shows that the MIL-100(Fe) paper sheet is promising for passive indoor moisture control. It can remove about 45%-55% of the latent cooling load in most European climate types.

Self-Sorting of Interfacial Compatibility in MOF-Based Mixed Matrix Membranes.

Metal-organic framework (MOF)-based mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) have shown great promises to overcome the performance upper limit of polymeric membranes for various gas separation processes. However, the gas separation properties of the MMMs largely depend on the MOF-polymer interfacial compatibility which is a metric difficult to quantify. In most cases, whether a MOF filler and a polymer matrix make a good pair is not revealed until the gas transport experiments are performed. This is because there is a lack of characterization techniques to directly probe the MOF-polymer interfacial compatibility. In this work, we demonstrate a self-sorting method to rank the interface compatibility among several MOF-polymer pairs. By mixing one MOF with two polymers in an MMM, the demixing of two polymers will form two polymer domains. The MOF particles will preferably partition into the "preferred" polymer domain due to their higher interfacial affinity. By scanning different polymer pairs, a rank of MOF-polymer interfacial compatibility from high to low can be obtained. Moreover, based on this ranking, it was also found that a highly compatible MOF-polymer pair suggested by this method also corresponds to a more predictable MMM gas separation performance.

Eco-friendly zinc-metal-organic framework as a nucleating agent for poly (lactic acid)

Eco-friendly poly(L-lactic acid) (PLA) can be made more versatile, and its crystallization rate is accelerated by adding Zinc-based metal-organic framework (Zn-MOF) particles. Using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), the non-isothermal melt crystallization behavior of biodegradable PLA nucleated by 0.3 to 3 wt% of Zn-MOF was examined. The non-isothermal melt crystallization kinetics parameters were determined using a modified Avrami model and Mo approach. Zn-MOF dramatically accelerated the crystallization process, as evidenced by several non-isothermal crystallization metrics, including the crystallization half-time and crystallization rate constant. The melt crystallization temperatures of the PLA-Zn-MOF composites, with contents of 0.7 and 1 wt%, were increased by 21 °C compared to the neat PLA. Using the Friedman isoconversional kinetic method, the neat PLA and PLA-Zn-MOF composites' effective activation energy values, ∆E, were determined. The ∆E values of PLA-Zn-MOF from 0.3 to 1 wt% Zn-MOF composites were lower than that of neat PLA. Moreover, polarized optical microscopy revealed the formation of numerous small-sized PLA spherulites upon Zn-MOF addition. The results indicate that the Zn-MOF (at concentrations of 0.7 to 1.0 wt%) can be used as an efficient nucleating agent for PLA, where it increases the melt crystallization temperature, nucleation density, and crystallinity without changing the crystalline structure, while also significantly reduces the effective activation energy and the size of spherulites. Additionally, scanning electron microscopy confirms good dispersion of Zn-MOF (0.3 to 1 wt%) within the PLA matrix.

5.1µm Ion-Regulated Rigid Quasi-Solid Electrolyte Constructed by Bridging Fast Li-Ion Transfer Channels for Lithium Metal Batteries.

An ultra-thin quasi-solid electrolyte (QSE) with dendrite-inhibiting properties is a requirement for achieving high energy density quasi-solid lithium metal batteries (LMBs). Here, a 5.1µm rigid QSE layer is directly designed on the cathode, in which Kevlar (poly(p-phenylene terephthalate)) nanofibers (KANFs) with negatively charged groups bridging metal-organic framework (MOF) particles are served as a rigid skeleton, and non-flammable deep eutectic solvent is selected to be encapsulated into the MOF channels, combined with in situ polymerization to complete safe electrolyte system with high rigidness and stability. The QSE withconstructed topological network demonstrates high rigidity (5.4GPa), high ionic conductivity (0.73 mS cm-1 at room temperature), good ion-regulated properties, and improved structural stability, contributing to homogenized Li-ion flux, excellent dendrite suppression, and prolonged cyclic performance for LMB. Additionally, ion regulation influences the Li deposition behavior, exhibiting a uniform morphology on the Li-metal surface after cycling. According to density-functional theory, KANFs bridging MOFs as hosts play a vital function in the free-state and fast diffusion dynamics of Li-ions. This work provides an effective strategy for constructing ultrathin robust electrolytes with a novel ionic conduction mode.

Biomimetic peroxidase MOF-Fe promotes bone defect repair by inhibiting TfR2 and activating the BMP2 pathway

BackgroundLarge bone defects pose a clinical treatment challenge; inhibiting transferrin receptor 2 (TfR2), which is involved in iron metabolism, can promote osteogenesis. Iron-based metal-organic frameworks (MOF-Fe) particles not only inhibit TfR2 but also serve as biomimetic catalysts to remove hydrogen peroxide in reactive oxygen species (ROS); excess ROS can disrupt the normal functions of osteoblasts, thereby hindering bone regeneration. This study explored the potential effects of MOF-Fe in increasing osteogenic activity and clearing ROS.MethodsIn vitro experiments were performed to investigate the osteogenic effects of MOF-Fe particles and assess their impact on cellular ROS levels. To further validate the role of MOF-Fe in promoting bone defect repair, we injected MOF-Fe suspensions into the femoral defects of SD rats and implanted MOF-Fe-containing hydrogel scaffolds in rabbit cranial defect models and observed their effects on bone healing.ResultsIn vitro, the presence of MOF-Fe significantly increased the expression levels of osteogenesis-related genes and proteins compared to those in the control group. Additionally, compared to those in the untreated control group, the cells treated with MOF-Fe exhibited a significantly increased ability to remove hydrogen peroxide from ROS and generate oxygen and water within the physiological pH range. In vivo experiments further confirmed the positive effect of MOF-Fe in promoting bone defect repair.ConclusionThis study supports the application of MOF-Fe as an agent for bone regeneration, particularly for mitigating ROS and activating the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) pathway, demonstrating its potential value.

Highly defective ultra-small tetravalent MOF nanocrystals

The size and defects in crystalline inorganic materials are of importance in many applications, particularly catalysis, as it often results in enhanced/emerging properties. So far, applying the strategy of modulation chemistry has been unable to afford high-quality functional Metal–Organic Frameworks (MOFs) nanocrystals with minimized size while exhibiting maximized defects. We report here a general sustainable strategy for the design of highly defective and ultra-small tetravalent MOFs (Zr, Hf) crystals (ca. 35% missing linker, 4–6 nm). Advanced characterizations have been performed to shed light on the main factors governing the crystallization mechanism and to identify the nature of the defects. The ultra-small nanoMOFs showed exceptional performance in peptide hydrolysis reaction, including high reactivity, selectivity, diffusion, stability, and show emerging tailorable reactivity and selectivity towards peptide bond formation simply by changing the reaction solvent. Therefore, these highly defective ultra-small M(IV)-MOFs particles open new perspectives for the development of heterogeneous MOF catalysts with dual functions.

Metal-organic framework (MOF) dispersion based fluids for solar-thermal energy conversion

This paper discusses the potential use of metal–organic framework (MOF) dispersion based fluids for solar-to-thermal energy conversion (STEC). For this, the optical and thermal characteristics of MOF dispersion were investigated, with MOFs dispersed in ethylene glycol (EG). This study is focused on three different MOF dispersions, namely ZIF8/EG, CuBTC/EG, and FeBTC/EG, each with varying concentrations of MOF particles. The results showed that FeBTC/EG at a concentration of 0.3 wt% is the optimal fluid for STEC, exhibiting the highest absorption and STEC efficiency compared to the other two fluids. The study also highlights the trade-off between STEC efficiency and cost, as increasing the concentration of MOF particles decreases the specific absorption rate (SAR). Additionally, the paper evaluates the dispersion stability of FeBTC/EG over time, which is critical for practical STEC applications. The novelty of the paper lies in the use of MOF dispersion based fluids for STEC application, which has not been extensively studied before. This study provides valuable insights into the potential use of MOF/EG for STEC and highlights the importance of optimizing the concentration of MOF particles for efficient and cost-effective performance. This study also introduces the novel application of MOF dispersion based fluids for enhanced STEC performance, showcasing FeBTC/EG as a standout for its high efficiency and stability. It marks a significant stride in utilizing MOF materials for sustainable energy, emphasizing practical considerations of dispersion stability and cost-effectiveness in STEC systems.

Enhancing Drug Delivery Efficacy Through Bilayer Coating of Zirconium-Based Metal-Organic Frameworks: Sustained Release and Improved Chemical Stability and Cellular Uptake for Cancer Therapy.

The development of nanoparticle (NP)-based drug carriers has presented an exciting opportunity to address challenges in oncology. Among the 100,000 available possibilities, zirconium-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as promising candidates in biomedical applications. Zr-MOFs can be easily synthesized as small-size NPs compatible with intravenous injection, whereas the ease of decorating their external surfaces with functional groups allows for targeted treatment. Despite these benefits, Zr-MOFs suffer degradation and aggregation in real, in vivo conditions, whereas the loaded drugs will suffer the burst effect-i.e., the fast release of drugs in less than 48 h. To tackle these issues, we developed a simple but effective bilayer coating strategy in a generic, two-step process. In this work, bilayer-coated MOF NU-901 remained well dispersed in biologically relevant fluids such as buffers and cell growth media. Additionally, the coating enhances the long-term stability of drug-loaded MOFs in water by simultaneously preventing sustained leakage of the drug and aggregation of the MOF particles. We evaluated our materials for the encapsulation and transport of pemetrexed, the standard-of-care chemotherapy in mesothelioma. The bilayer coating allowed for a slowed release of pemetrexed over 7 days, superior to the typical 48 h release found in bare MOFs. This slow release and the related performance were studied in vitro using both A549 lung cancer and 3T mesothelioma cells. Using high-resolution microscopy, we found the successful uptake of bilayer-coated MOFs by the cells with an accumulation in the lysosomes. The pemetrex-loaded NU-901 was indeed cytotoxic to 3T and A549 cancer cells. Finally, we demonstrated the general approach by extending the coating strategy using two additional lipids and four surfactants. This research highlights how a simple yet effective bilayer coating provides new insights into the design of promising MOF-based drug delivery systems.

Three-Dimensional Visualization of Adsorption Distribution in a Single Crystalline Particle of a Metal-Organic Framework.

Many unique adsorption properties of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been revealed by diffraction crystallography, visualizing their vacant and guest-loaded crystal structures at the molecular scale. However, it has been challenging to see the spatial distribution of the adsorption behaviors throughout a single MOF particle in a transient equilibrium state. Here, we report three-dimensional (3D) visualization of molecular adsorption behaviors in a single crystalline particle of a MOF by in situ X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy combined with computed tomography for the first time. The 3D maps of water-coordinated Co sites in a 100 μm-scale MOF-74-Co crystal were obtained with 1 μm spatial resolution under several water vapor pressures. Through the visualization of the water vapor adsorption process, 3D spectroimaging revealed the mechanism and spatial heterogeneity of guest adsorption inside a single particle of a crystalline MOF.

Enhanced Ceftriaxone Determination using a Glassy Carbon Electrode Modified with a Cr‐based Metal‐Organic Framework Film Stabilized by β‐Cyclodextrin Polymer

AbstractA selective amperometric sensor was developed to detect the antibiotic ceftriaxone (CEF) using a composite film of poly(β‐cyclodextrin) and a metal‐organic framework (MOF). The sensor was obtained by electro‐polymerizing β‐cyclodextrin (β‐CD) onto a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) previously coated with a MIL‐101(Cr) MOF film. This design prevents MOF particles’ loss during extended electrode use. The MOF was structurally characterized using scanning electron microscopy, X‐ray diffraction, N2 adsorption‐desorption isotherms (BET method) and FTIR spectroscopy. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry were used to assess the GCE/MIL‐101(Cr)‐pβ‐CD sensor, revealing reduced charge transfer resistance and enhanced sensitivity to CEF. Differential pulse voltammetry was then employed for CEF determination. Under optimized conditions, the sensor exhibited high sensitivity, a broad linear working range of 0.5 to 6 μM (R2=0.991), and a low detection limit of 0.34±0.02 μM (0.19±0.01 mg L−1). The selectivity of the sensor was evaluated in the presence of potential interferences such as organic acids, antibiotics and selected ions expected to affect the CEF signal. In an application to quantify a pharmaceutical formulation, the sensor displayed an impressive recovery rate of 98.3 % compared to results obtained using high‐performance liquid chromatography.

Synergistic cobalt‑copper metal-organic framework anchored amino-functionalized cellulose for antibiotic degradation: Interfacial engineering and mechanism insight.

Improving electron transfer rate of Co species and inhibiting aggregation of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) particles are essential prerequisites for activating advanced oxidation process in wastewater treatment field. Here, we exploit Cu species with variable valence states to accelerate electron transfer of Co species and then to boost the unsatisfactory degradation efficiency for refractory pharmaceuticals via in-situ growth of copper and cobalt species on l-lysine functionalized carboxylated cellulose nanofibers. Utilizing the synergistic interplay of Co sites and deliberately exposed Cu0/Cu1+ atoms, the subtly designed catalyst exhibited a surprising degradation efficiency (~100 %) toward tetracycline hydrochloride within 10 min (corresponding to a catalytic capacity of 267.71 mg/g) without adjusting temperature and pH. Meanwhile, the catalyst displays good recyclability, well tolerance for coexisting ions and excellent antibacterial performance derived from the intrinsic antibacterial property of Cu-MOF. This research provided a novel strategy to construct MOFs-cellulose materials toward degrading various stubborn antibiotic pollutants.

Multiporous ZIF-8 carbon/cellulose composite beads: Highly efficient and scalable adsorbents for water treatment

Metal–organic framework (MOF) particles are one of the most promising adsorbents for removing organic contaminants from wastewater. However, powder-type MOF particles face challenges in terms of utilization and recovery. In this study, a novel bead-type adsorbent was prepared using activated carbon based on the zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (AC-ZIF-8) and a regenerated cellulose hydrogel for dye removal. AC-ZIF-8 particles with a large surface area were obtained by carbonization and chemical activation with KOH. The AC-ZIF-8 powders were efficiently immobilized in hydrophilic cellulose hydrogel beads via cellulose dissolution/regeneration. The prepared AC-ZIF-8/cellulose hydrogel (AC-ZIF-8/CH) composite beads exhibit a large specific surface area of 1412.8 m2/g and an excellent maximum adsorption capacity of 565.13 mg/g for Rhodamine B (RhB). Moreover, the AC-ZIF-8/CH beads were effective over a wide range of pH, temperatures and for different types of dyes. These composite beads also offer economic benefits through desorption of dyes for recycling. The AC-ZIF-8/CH beads can be produced in substantial amounts and used as fillers in a fixed-bed column system, which can purify the continuous inflow of dye solutions. These findings suggest that our simple approach for preparing high-performance adsorbent beads will broaden the application of dye adsorbents, oil–water separation, and catalysts.

Design and Synthesis of Transferrable Macro-Sized Continuous Free-Standing Metal-Organic Framework Films for Biosensor Device.

Metal organic framework (MOF) films have attracted abundant attention due to their unique characters compared with MOF particles. But the high-temperature reaction and solvent corrosion limit the preparation of MOF films on fragile substrates, hindering further applications. Fabricating macro-sized continuous free-standing MOF films and transferring them onto fragile substrates are a promising alternative but still challenging. Here, a universal strategy to prepare transferrable macro-sized continuous free-standing MOF films with the assistance of oxide nanomembranes prepared by atomic layer deposition and studied the growth mechanism is developed. The oxide nanomembranes serve not only as reactant, but also as interfacial layer to maintain the integrality of the free-standing structure as the stacked MOF particles are supported by the oxide nanomembrane. The centimeter-scale free-standing MOF films can be transferred onto fragile substrates, and all in one device for glucose sensing is assembled. Due to the strong adsorption toward glucose molecules, the obtained devices exhibit outstanding performance in terms of high sensitivity, low limit of detection, and long durability. This work opens a new window toward the preparation of MOF films and MOF film-based biosensor chip for advantageous applications in post-Moore law period.

Universal Strategy for Metal-Organic Framework Growth: From Cascading-Functional Films to MOF-on-MOFs.

Transformation of metal-organic framework (MOF) particles into thin films is urgently needed for the persistent development of well-applicable devices, and recently emerging functional-integrated hybrid frameworks. Although some flexible polymers and exclusive modification approaches have been proposed, the additive-free and widely applicable strategy has not been reported, hampering the deep investigation of the structure-performance relationship. A universal strategy for the in situ growth of large-area and continuous MOF films with controllable microstructures is introduced, through the modification of multi-scale and multi-structure substrates with poly(4-vinylpyridine) as the anchor to capture metal ions via Coulomb attraction. Based on the clarified structure-adsorption-separation mechanisms, the customized devices fabricated by in situ growth can achieve highly selective adsorption and excellently synergetic separation of various industrially relevant isomers. In addition, this strategy is also feasible for the construction of MOF-on-MOFs with varied lattice parameters. This strategy is easy to implement and will be widely applicable to the surface growth of diverse MOFs on desired substrates, and provides a new concept for developing hybrid MOFs integrating with customized functionalities.

Rapid coating of polyamide, polyurea, and polythiourea on metal–organic framework surfaces

Well-defined metal–organic framework (MOF)@polymer core–shell composite particles with polyamide, polyurea, and polythiourea as the shell layer have been constructed for the first time using non-solvent-induced surface-aimed polymerization. This surface polymerization method utilizes non-solvent-induced phase separation to concentrate and direct monomers onto MOF particle surfaces, thus completing the coating process in less than 5 min. The generalizability of this method has been demonstrated with different MOFs. Coating MOF particles with any of the three polymers can effectively improve the stability of the MOF in harsh chemical environments. When used for heavy metal removal, polythiourea-coated composite particles (MOF@HDA-PDTC) exhibited a drastically improved Hg(II) removal rate and full utilization of the thione groups for Hg(II) binding compared to their neat polymer counterparts. This highlights the unique benefit of this core–shell architecture for the optimization of diffusion.

Sensing the Spin State of Room-Temperature Switchable Cyanometallate Frameworks with Nitrogen-Vacancy Centers in Nanodiamonds.

Room-temperature magnetically switchable materials play a vital role in current and upcoming quantum technologies, such as spintronics, molecular switches, and data storage devices. The increasing miniaturization of device architectures produces a need to develop analytical tools capable of precisely probing spin information at the single-particle level. In this work, we demonstrate a methodology using negatively charged nitrogen vacancies (NV-) in fluorescent nanodiamond (FND) particles to probe the magnetic switching of a spin crossover (SCO) metal-organic framework (MOF), [Fe(1,6-naphthyridine)2(Ag(CN)2)2] material (1), and a single-molecule photomagnet [X(18-crown-6)(H2O)3]Fe(CN)6·2H2O, where X = Eu and Dy (materials 2a and 2b, respectively), in response to heat, light, and electron beam exposure. We employ correlative light-electron microscopy using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) finder grids to accurately image and sense spin-spin interacting particles down to the single-particle level. We used surface-sensitive optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) and magnetic modulation (MM) of FND photoluminescence (PL) to sense spins to a distance of ca. 10-30 nm. We show that ODMR and MM sensing was not sensitive to the temperature-induced SCO of FeII in 1 as formation of paramagnetic FeIII through surface oxidation (detected by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) on heating obscured the signal of bulk SCO switching. We found that proximal FNDs could effectively sense the chemical transformations induced by the 200 keV electron beam in 1, namely, AgI → Ag0 and FeII → FeIII. However, transformations induced by the electron beam are irreversible as they substantially disrupt the structure of MOF particles. Finally, we demonstrate NV- sensing of reversible photomagnetic switching, FeIII + (18-crown-6) ⇆ FeII + (18-crown-6)+ •, triggered in 2a and 2b by 405 nm light. The photoredox process of 2a and 2b proved to be the best candidate for room-temperature single-particle magnetic switching utilizing FNDs as a sensor, which could have applications into next-generation quantum technologies.

Rapid separation of MOFs particles with the aid of PVDF hollow fiber membrane

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been widely investigated due to their fascinating structures and properties. However, the time-cost synthetic process and the difficult separation from liquid phase hinder their practical application. In this study, a self-made automatic apparatus containing commercial poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) hollow fiber membranes was used to separate MOFs from large-volume suspension. Taking MIL-88A(Fe) synthesized with industrial-grade chemicals as an example, the investment cost, operation cost, human cost, time duration during separation process, and unit cost price of MIL-88A(Fe) were significantly reduced by 62%, 82%, 100%, 90%, and 36%, respectively, compared to those of centrifugation. More importantly, MIL-88A(Fe) powders that were separated and purified by the apparatus were easy to be removed from membrane surface by slight vibration, which displayed good morphology, crystallinity, as well as high degradation efficiency toward organic contaminants via photo-Fenton reaction. Meanwhile, the membrane can be reused instantly without any rinse. More encouragingly, this method is applicable to other MOFs’ separation, like ZIF-8 and ZIF-67. This study further confirmed the potential and prospective of high-throughput production and facile separation of MOFs for practical applications.
