To satisfy unique clinical requirements, it is sometimes appropriate to employ denture teeth having metal occlusal surfaces. The advantages, in addition to the inherent physical properties of the metal, include adaptability to unusual opposing occlusion problems and different theories of occlusion. The disadvantages are the increased cost and perhaps, in some instances, compromised esthetics. An effective technique is presented which permits denture teeth to be constructed with gold occlusal surfaces. The technique permits the construction of duplicate teeth with minimal additional time and materials.
