Background Family-nurse collaboration is critical when caring for hospitalized elderly patients. In order to assess this collaboration in clinical settings, a scale based on the culture of the local country is required. This study aimed to investigate the Psychometric Evaluation of Persian version of Family Collaboration Scale (FCS). Material and Methods This methodological study measured the FCS in hospitals affiliated with Golestan University of Medical Sciences in 2022. After permission was obtained from the developer, the FCS was translated from English into Persian and back-translated into English based on the World Health Organization’s model. The translated version was then examined for its psychometric properties, including initial reliability, face validity, content validity, construct validity, convergent validity, and overall reliability. Ultimately, the reliability of the Persian version was assessed using the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC), Cronbach’s alpha, and McDonald’s Omega coefficient. The obtained data were analyzed statistically in SPSS- 16 and AMOS-24. Results The initial reliability of the whole scale and its subscales was confirmed with values greater than 0.7. Regarding qualitative face validity, some items of the scale were modified based on the comments of the target groups. The calculation of the item factor, CVR, and CVI led to the confirmation of 42 items, the elimination of 5 items, and the confirmation of the remaining items, respectively. In addition, 6 items were eliminated following exploratory factor analysis. Finally, there remained a total of 31 items on the scale. The next step was built on a confirmatory factor analysis approach and fit indices, demonstrating that the FCS could be used in the Iranian population. In addition, CR>0.7, AVE>0.5, and CR>AVE confirmed the convergent validity of this scale. Cronbach’s alpha, McDonald Omega coefficient (Ω), and ICC (test-retest) for this scale were obtained as 0.87, > 0.80, and 0.82, respectively. Moreover, there was a significant correlation between the two stages of the test (p<0.001). As a result, the reliability of the Persian version of the FCS was confirmed. Conclusion The translation and psychometric evaluation of the FCS suggested that it is a valid and reliable scale that can be used in Iran to evaluate how well families of elderly patients and nurses collaborate in clinical settings. Background: Writing self-efficacy is a central construct in educational research, grounded in Bandura's social cognitive theory. However, most available instruments have been developed in Western and urban contexts, which limits their applicability to indigenous bilingual populations, such as Quechua-speaking students in Peru. The absence of validated scales in these contexts hinders the accurate assessment of writing self-efficacy and the implementation of educational strategies tailored to their linguistic and cultural needs. Objective: This study aimed to adapt and validate the Writing Self-Efficacy Scale (QEWSE) for Quechua-speaking students in basic education in Peru, ensuring its structural validity and reliability. Methods: An instrumental study was conducted with a sample of 265 secondary school students (50.6% female, 49.4% male), using convenience sampling. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was applied to evaluate the structure of the instrument. Reliability was assessed using Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega coefficients. Results: The four first-order factor model (Ideation, Skills, Usage, and Self-Regulation) showed adequate fit indices (CFI = 0.92; TLI = 0.91; RMSEA = 0.05 [90% CI: 0.05-0.06]; SRMR = 0.05). However, the high inter-factor correlations (≥0.85) suggest the relevance of a second-order model, which demonstrated a reasonable fit (CFI = 0.92; TLI = 0.91; RMSEA = 0.06; SRMR = 0.05), supporting the interpretation of writing self-efficacy as a global construct. The scale showed high reliability across all factors (α and ω ranged from 0.74 to 0.90). Conclusions: The QEWS-S demonstrates strong psychometric properties for assessing writing self-efficacy among Quechua-speaking students. The hierarchical second-order model offers a more accurate theoretical and empirical representation, allowing for the reporting of an overall self-efficacy score while also providing specific scores for each dimension. These results support its use in bilingual and culturally diverse contexts and lay the groundwork for future research aimed at further examining discriminant validity and developing pedagogical interventions focused on strengthening students' confidence and writing skills.

Abstract Background Validated instruments are limited in the literature to assess the infodemic management capacity of the healthcare professionals. This methodological study aimed to develop and validate a scale for measuring the infodemic management capacity of the healthcare professionals. Methods The study was conducted between September 2024 and April 2025 with a total of 495 healthcare professionals working at a university hospital in Ankara, Türkiye. The participants were divided into two groups for Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) (n = 250) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) (n = 245). Expert opinions were obtained to evaluate the content validity of the scale. Construct validity was assessed through EFA and CFA. Reliability was examined using Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega coefficients. The discriminatory power of the items was examined via corrected item-total correlations. Comparisons between the upper and lower 27% groups were conducted. The study was approved by the university's research ethics committee. Results Of the participants, 71.7% were female. Physicians comprised 65% of the sample, followed by nurses (23%) and other healthcare professionals (12%). EFA revealed a four-factor structure with 20 items, explaining 54% of the total variance. The factors were labeled as follows: Listening to the Community (3 items), Supporting Communication (5 items), Building Resilience (6 items), and Engaging and Empowering Communities (6 items). Both first- and second-order CFA supported this structure, indicating acceptable model fit. Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega coefficients for each factor exceeded .70 (range: .71-.92). All items demonstrated adequate discriminatory power, with corrected item-total correlations above .30. Additional analysis confirmed measurement invariance across genders. Conclusions The scale is an instrument that produces valid and reliable measures and that can be used to determine health professionals’ infodemic management capacity. Key messages • Assessing the infodemic management capacity of the health professionals is a need. • The scale provides valid and reliable measures, making it a valuable tool for assessing health professionals’ infodemic management capacity.

The rise of gaming as a dominant form of entertainment has raised global concerns over problematic use, prompting the need for culturally adapted assessment tools. This study investigates the psychometric properties of the Gaming Disorder Test (GDT) and the Gaming Disorder Scale for Young Adults (GADIS-YA) among Indian university students. A total of 454 participants completed the GDT, GADIS-YA, Internet Gaming Disorder Scale-Short Form (IGDS9-SF), and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21). We assessed internal consistency using Cronbach's alpha, McDonald's omega, and construct validity through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The GDT and GADIS-YA demonstrated good internal consistency with Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega coefficients at 0.88 and 0.93, respectively. CFA supported a one-factor structure for GDT and a two-factor structure for GADIS-YA. Measurement invariance was confirmed across gender and gaming time, with significant correlations observed with IGDS9-SF and DASS-21. These findings indicate that GDT and GADIS-YA have satisfactory psychometric properties among young Indian adults. The findings contribute to the growing body of evidence on gaming disorder (GD) prevalence and a reliable instrument for assessing it in India. Healthcare professionals can utilize the GDT and GADIS-YA to assess GD for preventing and reducing of gaming problem among young adults.

Instagram's popularity has raised concern about its problematic use. However, no validated scales assessing Instagram addiction exist in the Indian context. The present study evaluated the psychometric properties of the 15-item Instagram Addiction Scale (IAS-15) among Indian adults. In total, 301 participants (Mage = 22.89 years) were recruited using a convenience sampling technique. Confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the two components of the IAS-15, social effect and compulsion, had suitable factor loadings: CMIN/DF (chi-square/degree of freedom) = 2.531, GFI (goodness of fit index) = 0.903, IFI (incremental fit index) = 0.965, TLI (Tucker-Lewis index) = 0.958, CFI (comparative fit index) = 0.965, and RMSEA (root mean square error of approximation) = 0.071. This was further improved by drawing covariances between theoretically linked items (CMIN/DF = 2.273, GFI = 0.916, IFI = 0.972, TLI = 0.965, CFI = 0.971, and RMSEA = 0.065). Strong convergent validity with a significant and positive correlation with social media addiction (r = 0.899), and strong concurrent validity with depression (r = 0.778), anxiety (r = 0.777), stress (r = 0.815), and negative correlations with self-esteem (r = -0.635) were observed. The IAS-15 demonstrated excellent internal consistency with Cronbach's alpha (α) and McDonald's omega (ω) coefficients of reliability for the overall scale (α = 0.962 and ω = 0.963) and its two subscales, social effect (α = 0.941 and ω = 0.942) and compulsion (α = 0.922 and ω = 0.922). Findings confirm that the IAS-15 is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing Instagram addiction among Indian adults.

The COVID-19 disease has entailed a public health challenge and an increased sense of uncertainty for the prison population, who have experienced restrictions on access to social contacts, communal areas, and information for a longer and more recent period than the general population, as well as increased levels of anxiety and fear associated with the COVID-19 disease. The objective of this study was the validation of the Anxiety and Fear of COVID-19 (AMICO) Assessment Scale to measure both anxiety and fear constructs in Spanish prison inmates. A descriptive psychometric validation study was carried out. A field study was conducted to perform univariate analyses, in addition to the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis of the scale. The study sample consisted of 711 subjects over 18 years of age, inmates in Spanish prisons, 14.1% of whom were women with a mean age of 40.35 years (SD = 2.62). The construct validity study reported 2 factors and 16 items, with a Cronbach alpha value of 0.95, confirmed by McDonald Omega coefficient, with a value of 0.951. The AMICO scale is a valid and reliable tool for assessing the level of anxiety and fear of COVID-19 in the Spanish adult prison population and shows high sensitivity.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Dating Violence Questionnaire for Victimization and Perpetration (DVQ-VP) in a sample of the Ecuadorian population. The study included 819 participants (47% men and 53% women), consisting of Ecuadorian adolescents and university students. An instrumental design was employed for the linguistic adaptation, reliability, and convergent (AVE), discriminant (HTMT), and structural (CFI, TLI, and RMSEA) validation of the DVQ-VP. The construct validity and internal consistency of the instrument were assessed. Construct validity was analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), while internal consistency was evaluated using ordinal Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega coefficients. Additionally, a network analysis was conducted with the DVQ-VP items. The CFA results indicated that the DVQ-VP has a factorial structure consistent with the original theoretical model, with adequate fit indices (CFI > 990, TLI > 990, and RMSEA < 0.08 in both models of the DVQ-VP). The Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega values for the victimization and perpetration subscales were above .70, indicating good internal consistency. Additionally, the instrument proved to be sensitive in identifying different forms of dating violence. The findings support that the DVQ-VP demonstrated adequate levels of validity and reliability for assessing dating violence in a sample of Ecuadorian adolescents and university students. These results suggest that, within this specific context and population, the instrument can be a useful tool for identifying patterns of victimization and perpetration in dating relationships. Its application may contribute to early detection and the development of targeted interventions to reduce intimate partner violence among young people.

Scientific assessment is a crucial first step in establishing effective communication between healthcare teams and caregivers. Given the lack of reliable and effective tools to comprehensively assess the quality of communication between healthcare teams and caregivers of cancer patients in China. This study aimed to translated and culturally adapted the Caregiver-Centered Communication Questionnaire (CCCQ) and assessed its psychometric properties in caregivers of cancer patients in China. CCCQ was translated into Chinese following Brislin's model and culturally adapted according to a Delphi expert panel. Then pretested and refined the Chinese versions of the CCCQ (CCCQ-C) among 10 caregivers. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 600 caregivers of cancer patients from October to December 2024. Psychometric properties of CCCQ-C were evaluated exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), McDonald's omega coefficient, and test-retest reliability. The CCCQ-C demonstrated strong content validity (I-CVI = 0.800 ~ 1.000, S-CVI = 0.980) and internal consistency (McDonald's omega = 0.965). EFA identified five factors explaining 71.014% cumulative variance, while CFA confirmed good model fit. Test-retest reliability was excellent (r = 0.820, ICC = 0.806). The overall questionnaire remained unchanged in terms of 5 dimensions and 30 items during the process of translation and validation. In China's medical environment for cancer patients, CCCQ-C demonstrates acceptable psychometric properties, making it a reliable and effective assessment tool for evaluating communication between healthcare teams and caregivers. This provides valuable guidance for future practice, research and policy making.

Background: Sound tolerance issues impact daily activities. Questionnaires effectively assess symptoms and severity of sound intolerance. The Sound Sensitivity Symptoms Questionnaire (SSSQ) is a brief five-item tool designed to evaluate the severities of sound sensitivity and screen different forms of sound sensitivity.Purpose: To evaluate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the SSSQ (P-SSSQ) among adults with a pure-tone average no greater than 20 dB HL without tinnitus symptoms.Research Design: A cross-sectional survey was conducted. The questionnaire was translated using the International Quality of Life Assessment method. The content validity ratio (CVR) and content validity index (CVI) were determined. A confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), receiver-operating characteristic curve, internal consistency, and test-retest reliability were established. Convergent and discriminant validity were assessed.Study Sample: A total of 100 adults (48 women) from the general population with and without sound sensitivity participated in the study.Data Collection and Analysis: Internal consistency was evaluated using the Cronbach α and McDonald omega coefficients. Test-retest reliability was determined using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) after a 2-week interval. Convergent and discriminant validity were assessed using the Pearson and Spearman correlation coefficients.Result: The CVR and CVI of the questionnaire were excellent. The CFA confirmed a single-factor structure, consistent with the original English version. Internal consistency was acceptable (Cronbach α = 0.75; McDonald omega = 0.79). Test-retest reliability was excellent, with an ICC of 0.92. Convergent validity was supported by moderate correlations with the Hyperacusis Questionnaire (r = 0.571) scores, Misophonia Questionnaire (r = 0.453) scores, and uncomfortable loudness levels (r = -0.652). Discriminant validity was demonstrated by a weak correlation with PTA across ears (r = 0.175).Conclusions: The P-SSSQ is a reliable and valid tool that can quickly assess sound sensitivity symptoms with its single-factor structure and satisfactory model fit. It can be used as a checklist to evaluate various types and severities of sound sensitivity as well as to monitor treatment progress in audiology, otolaryngology, and psychology clinics. A score greater than 4 indicates sound sensitivity with 79 percent sensitivity and 82 percent specificity. Correlations with other questionnaires suggest overlapping sensitivities; therefore, the P-SSSQ is valuable for comprehensively classifying sound sensitivity.

Identifying the training needs of critical care nurses is crucial for enhancing their performance and optimizing patient outcomes. This process requires a comprehensive understanding of their specific knowledge gaps and skill deficiencies. Therefore, a reliable and validated tool is necessary to assess these needs effectively. This study aimed to assess the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the Training Needs of Critical Care Nurses Scale (TNCCNS) in Iran. This cross-sectional methodological study evaluated the Persian version of the TNCCNS using a convenience sample of 676 intensive care unit nurses from hospitals in Kermanshah, Hamadan, and Tabriz. The study was conducted in two phases: translation and cultural adaptation, followed by an assessment of the psychometric properties of the Persian version. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were performed to examine the construct validity of the instrument. Additionally, internal consistency reliability was assessed using Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega coefficients, while test-retest reliability was evaluated using the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). Data analysis was conducted using SPSS (version 27) and LISREL (version 8). Statistical significance for all analyses was set at p < 0.05. The results of the EFA and CFA confirmed the thirteen-factor structure with 66 items, explaining 62.337% of the total variance. CFA indicated a good model fit (RMSEA = 0.056, CFI = 0.92, NNFI / TLI = 0.94, GFI = 0.98, SRMR = 0.046, χ²/df = 2.25). Pearson correlation analysis revealed significant positive relationships between each subscale score and the overall scale score. The scale demonstrated high reliability (Cronbach's alpha = 0.912, McDonald's omega = 0.902) and strong stability (ICC = 0.912, 95% CI: 0.900-0.924). The Persian TNCCNS has demonstrated robust validity and reliability, establishing itself as a valuable tool for assessing the training needs of ICU nurses in Iran. Its validation carries significant implications for both research and practice, offering a robust framework for evaluating the educational requirements of Iranian critical care nurses and the effectiveness of existing training programs. Furthermore, these findings provide essential guidance for educational administrators and policymakers in designing targeted interventions that enhance nursing competencies and improve patient care outcomes in ICU settings. Loneliness has a significant impact on mental and physical health across different stages of development, with particularly evident effects during adolescence. During this period, young individuals undergo substantial social and emotional transformations, making loneliness a global concern. This study aimed to analyze the psychometric properties of the UCLA-R Loneliness Scale in Ecuadorian adolescents through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, assess its internal consistency, and examine factorial invariance across genders. The sample consisted of 718 school-aged adolescents (288 males and 430 females) aged 14-17 years (M = 15.72, SD = 0.747), selected through probabilistic sampling. A sociodemographic ad hoc questionnaire and the Spanish version of the 20-item UCLA-R Loneliness Scale were administered. The sample was randomly divided into two equivalent subsamples (n = 359) to separately perform an Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and a Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The EFA was conducted using principal axis factoring, oblique rotation, and polychoric correlations. The CFA evaluated one-factor, two-factor, and three-factor models, employing fit indices such as CFI, TLI, RMSEA, and SRMR. Internal consistency was estimated using Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega coefficients. Additionally, factorial invariance analyses by gender were performed, along with a univariate ANOVA to examine potential gender differences. The exploratory factor analysis (EFA) results indicated the presence of two factors, whose structure explains 40.8% of the total variance, with 19 items. The confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) confirmed that the bifactor model with 19 items exhibited a superior fit compared to the unidimensional and three-factor models with 20 items, with fit indices falling within acceptable to excellent ranges (CFI = .936, TLI = .927, RMSEA = .050, SRMR = .048). Additionally, the bifactor model demonstrated measurement invariance across genders. Regarding internal consistency, the scale demonstrated a Cronbach's alpha of.876 and an omega coefficient of.83, confirming its reliability. It is concluded that the 19-item UCLA-R Loneliness Scale is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing perceived loneliness in Ecuadorian adolescents, regardless of gender. Future research could replicate these findings in other regions and cultural contexts to validate its use on a larger scale.

This study aimed to assess the psychometric properties of the Farsi version of the Electroconvulsive Therapy-Related Anxiety Questionnaire (ERAQ). This methodological study was conducted among patients undergoing or with a history of Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) in Mashhad, Iran, during 2024-2025. Data were collected using a demographic profile form and the ERAQ. The questionnaire was translated into Farsi using the forward-backward translation method, and its face and content validity were assessed both qualitatively and quantitatively. To evaluate construct validity, exploratory factor analysis (n = 150) and confirmatory factor analysis (n = 150) were performed. Convergent validity was examined using Composite Reliability and Average Variance Extracted values, while discriminant validity was assessed through the Heterotrait-Monotrait ratio. Reliability was determined by estimating internal consistency through Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega coefficients. During exploratory factor analysis, item 9 was removed because its factor loading was less than 0.30, and the remaining 16 items were distributed across three factors: life disruption, socio-physical disruption, and memory disruption, which collectively explained 45% of the total variance. Confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated a good fit for the proposed model. All composite reliability, maximum reliability, and heterotrait-monotrait ratios supported the convergent and discriminant validity of the ERAQ. Additionally, Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega coefficients confirmed the acceptable internal consistency of the Farsi version of the ERAQ. Based on the findings of this study, the Farsi version of the ERAQ demonstrates sufficient validity and reliability to assess anxiety symptoms associated with ECT in the Iranian population.
