This paper presents an efficient method for radial load flow solution. It uses a novel matrix transformation technique, which directly solves the determination of branch flows in radial distribution network, consequently it makes forward backward sweep based load flow method, more effective and fast. This matrix transformation technique exploits the radial feature of distribution networks and simple matrix manipulations to achieve the desired transformation. The advantage of this technique can be realized in any analysis of radial distribution system where forward/backward sweep based method has a scope of use.
