Pemanfaatan Aplikasi TikTok pada Pembelajaran Teks Negosiasi Kelas X SMA Negeri 11 Semarang

Educating the nation's life is one of the goals of the Indonesian state which is included in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia in the fourth paragraph. Through education, everyone can learn to develop their potential to realize their happiness and perfection in life to become more qualified. Learning Indonesian has an important role in the process of teaching students about good and correct Indonesian language skills according to their goals and functions. The use of the TikTok application is one way to integrate technology in learning in class X SMA Negeri 11 Semarang negotiation text material. This study aims to find out whether the TikTok application can be used as an alternative learning medium that is effective in improving language skills and increasing students' interest in learning. This research also aims to motivate educators to create interesting learning media. This research uses qualitative descriptive method. Its data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the use of the TikTok application in learning negotiation texts with the research objects of class X students of SMA Negeri 11 Semarang can be well received. Monotonous and boring learning can be resolved using TikTok media

Quizziz sebagai Alat Penilaian Teks Eksplanasi pada Peserta Didik di Kelas VIII B SMPN 2 Semarang

Learning is an activity that results in a change from those who do not know to know, from those who are unable to become capable. While learning refers to two concepts, namely learning and teaching. When the learning process takes place there will definitely be students who are not interested in the learning material delivered by the teacher. To overcome this, teachers must make innovations and updates in learning so that students can get motivation to learn and a pleasant learning atmosphere so that it is easier to accept material. Technology in the world of education is a learning system that supports learning so that learning becomes fun and achieves the desired results. Many learning platforms on the internet can be accessed for free, one of which is Quizziz. Quizizz is a platform for creating an interactive quiz game that can be used in class or outside the classroom in the form of homework. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with class VIII B students at SMPN 2 Semarang as the subject. Data collection techniques used are observation and documentation. The data analysis technique that the researcher used included three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and concluding data. The results that the researchers got from the application of Quizziz as an explanatory text assessment tool for class VIII B students at SMPN 2 Semarang. interactive quiz media on explanatory text material at SMPN 2 Semarang shows that the use of the Quizziz application is beneficial for teachers and students even though there are still drawbacks.

Pemanfaatan Aplikasi Quizizz dalam Pembelajaran Peserta Didik Kinestetik di Kelas VII E SMP Negeri 2 Sewon Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023

Technology can be used to find solutions to learning problems. The learning problems encountered were students who were active at SMPN 2 Sewon on descriptive text material. Teachers need to know the characteristics of students to solve problems. One of the uses of technology to overcome this problem is by looking for the characteristics of students and the results of using the quizizz application in learning descriptive text in class VII E SMPN 2 Sewon. The aims are (a) to find out the characteristics of students and (b) to find out the learning outcomes with the Quizizz application. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method as well as observation and interview techniques, and notes to find data. The results of the data were processed and analyzed according to qualitative descriptive research. The results of the study found that the characteristics of students have a kinesthetic learning style. In addition, it was concluded that the use of the Quizizz application could have a major effect on learning descriptive text in class VII E of SMPN 2 Sewon. The average value reaches 95 when using the quizizz application with a kinesthetic learning style approach.

Penggunaan Media Komik Strip Terhadap Pembelajaran Menulis Teks Anekdot di SMK Muhammadiyah Kajen

The study was intended to describe the use of a comic book strip to teach anecdoatic text writing in class X SMK Muhammadiyah Kajen school year 2023/2024. The study uses a qualitative type of descriptive research. The data sources in the study are secondary and primary data. Primary data in research include student interviews, and interviews with educators. Secondary data in the study are the educators module for class X anecdote text material, the vlue data acquired by educated participants, the comics generated by educated, and the documentation during the process. Data collection techniques in this study include direct observation, interviews, and documentation. Studies have shown that the use of comics to write anecdotal texts has been found to be 31 (83%) educated people who get excellent credit, and there are 6 (17%) educated peole who score well on the overall rate of learnes. The strip’s comic media can be an alternative or solution in the learning process that can arouse learner’s interest in learning and learning motivation.

Social group identities and semantic domains in the ancient Near East

Abstract Digital Humanities has an increasing need for widely applicable and easy-to-use methods across disciplinary boundaries. We believe that the cross-disciplinary methods we have developed for the study of the ancient Near East are useful for the study of other research questions outside the field of “Digital Assyriology”. The article presents an overview of automated language processing for lexical-semantic analysis, social network analysis, and content analysis. We draw on the work in our research group, which aims to address how changing empires affect social group identities and lifeways in the first millennium BCE in Mesopotamia. The article places the methods our research team has developed into the larger methodological context of Digital Humanities (DH). The article presents an overview of the tools our research group has found useful in our study of ancient social groups. Sections 1 and 2 give the necessary background for the reader to understand the particular challenges related to the study of ancient Mesopotamia and how we have overcome them. The concrete case studies presented in Sections 3 and 4, however, are kept as general as possible, to facilitate similar approaches in adjacent fields of study. Our methodology and approaches are well documented and openly available, and in our view can be used on similar text materials, by other groups interested in DH approaches.

Penggunaan Media Pembelajaran Interaktif Wordwall terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Kelas VII pada Materi Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi di SMP IT Cendekia Takengon

This research aims to describe the use of wordwall interactive learning media on the critical thinking skills of class VII students in the text material of observation reports at SMP IT Ilmu Takengon. The low critical thinking skills of students are caused by students still having difficulty understanding the learning given by the teacher. The type of research used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were 26 Rufaidah class VII students. This research was conducted in the Even Semester of the 2023/2024 Academic Year at SMP IT Scholar Takengon. The data collection techniques and instruments used in this research were observation, interviews and questionnaires regarding the use of wordwall interactive learning media on students' critical thinking abilities. The results of the research show that the use of wordwall interactive learning media on students' critical thinking skills is classified as good. This ability has been measured through questionnaires with a percentage result of 84%.

Using olfactory cues in text materials benefits delayed retention and schemata construction

Olfactory cues are considered a new sensory medium that can enhance learning, but the lack of empirical data has hampered their widespread use in educational practice. This requires empirical research to explore the effects of olfactory cues on learning. To address this research need, an experimental research study was conducted among 87 fourth graders from a Chinese elementary school. It explored the innovative design of adding olfactory cues to text materials by examining their effects on retention and schemata construction as learning outcomes, as well as their influence on learners’ cognitive load and learning experience. In this between-subjects design experiment, the experimental group (n = 44) learned text materials with the introduction of olfactory cues, while the control group (n = 43) only learned text materials. After the learning activity, participants were asked to complete the questionnaires, immediate test, and delayed test. The results revealed that the usage of olfactory cues synchronized with text materials can enhance delayed retention, facilitate schemata construction, and improve learner experience without increasing cognitive load. This study confirms the potential of well-designed olfactory cues in educational practice and provides insights for designing and presenting multimedia learning resources.

Orthodox Church Architecture of the Kuban Settlements of the Late 18th – First Half of the 19th Century

A retrospective analysis of the history of the architecture of Orthodox churches in Kuban from the end of the 18th to the first half of the 19th century was carried out on specific objects of religious architecture. The historical approach allows us to consider these objects as unique elements of the architectural and urban heritage of the period under study. The special value of Orthodox churches in the concept of forming a holistic environment of urban and rural settlements is indicated. The main means of artistic expression based on volumetric planning techniques, with the help of which the compositional image of the temple is created, are noted. The presented illustrative material graphically displays the scientific content, executed on certain visual images of religious architecture structures and visually complements the text material. Great importance is given to the current issues of integrity and sustainable balance of modern buildings and structures with previously erected religious architecture objects and monuments of historical and cultural heritage.

Improving fake news detection on social networks through a novel machine learning approach

Recent years have seen an increase in societal information, such as commercial advertisements, celebrity information, political news, etc., due to the growth of online social networks. Some social media sites including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, were impacted by Fake News (FN) spread by their users. Nevertheless, some individuals propagate false information using words, images, and videos to increase their connections and reputation. The most current information is unreliable and misleads other members on an online social network. Because FN is circulated to encourage users to trust disinformation, it’s hard for detection algorithms to recognize false information according to uploaded material. In this research, we will provide an autonomous false news detection strategy called Grey Wolf optimized Adaptive Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit (GWO+ABi-GRU) that can identify FN on Twitter. The TF-IDF method translates textual material into a mathematical representation that accurately captures the value of terms and their context in the dataset. We improve the overall efficiency of the BiGRU by applying this GWO, which leads to increased accuracy when spotting false news. The experimental examination of real-world data shows that the proposed FN detection strategy GWO+ABi-GRU outperforms traditional approaches regarding recall, accuracy, F1 score, and precision. This enhanced performance proves essential in preventing the circulation of false news on social media, protecting the integrity of information sources, and mitigating the potential damage caused by false information.

Pengembangan Bahan Ajar Materi Teks Negosiasi Berbantuan Aplikasi Anyflip pada Siswa Kelas X SMA Swasta Gajah Mada Medan

This research aims to: (1) describe the process of developing teaching materials for negotiation text materials assisted by the Anyflip application for class Mada Medan. The research and development model used is ADDIE with five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The instruments used were interviews, as well as material validation questionnaires, design validation, and responses from Indonesian language study teachers. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques (Likert scale). The results of the research and development carried out are teaching material products for negotiation text materials assisted by the Anyflip application with good average assessment results.

The Morphological Study of Colour Terms in Nigerian English

The paper investigates the nature of morphological processes of colour terms among the users of English in Nigeria and their syntactic usages using a multi-dimensional approach in data gathering. The data was drawn from one hundred subjects across ten ethnic groups, including Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba as well as fifteen textual materials written in English by Nigerian scholars. The paper adopts a cognitive linguistic multidimensional framework. The paper reveals that the colour systems and usages among Nigerians contrast with the system within the native speakers of the language. For instance "fresh leave green", "pale blue", "blood red", "yolk yellow", "black black", "dark so and so", "charcoal", "flesh", , "dirty green", "dudu" and so on are formed through several morphological processes such as coining, clipping, blending, borrowing, compounding, reduplication and affixation as well as usage in various syntactic operations as in nominals and adjectives: "The shirt is dark so and so." and "The yellows ran out of the scorching sun." which serves as adjective and nominal plural respectively. Hence the paper concludes that morphology and syntax of most colours in Nigerian context have been influenced by many indigenous languages in the country. Hence, the hierarchy of the basic colours violates the Berlin and Kay"s evolutionary sequence and Kay and Maffi"s Trajectory model of Colour terms within the circle of the native speakers of English.

Pengembangan E-Book Teks Eksposisi Berbasis Aplikasi Canva dengan Model Problem Based Learning untuk Siswa Kelas X MA Tahfizh Al-Habibi

This study aimed to develop and assess the feasibility of an e-book on exposition text material enhanced by the Canva application using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model for class X students at MA Tahfizh Al-Habibi. Employing the 4D development model by Thiagarajan (1974), which includes Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate phases, the research involved a population of 60 students with a sample of 20 students from class X-3. Data collection methods included questionnaires, observations, and interviews. The findings indicated that the e-book is highly feasible, with material experts rating its validity at 85.6% and 88.8%, respectively, and design experts at 93%. Trials conducted with teachers and students yielded an overall average score of 87% from the Indonesian language teacher and 96% from students, both categorized as "highly feasible." These results suggest that the e-book on exposition text material assisted by the Canva application using the PBL model is valid and suitable for educational use.

Implementasi E-Modul Flippingbook pada Materi Teks Eksposisi untuk Meningkatkan Higher Order Thinking Skills Siswa Kelas X SMA

This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) model to create and evaluate flipping book-assisted E-Module learning products for exposition text material aimed at enhancing Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in class X at SMA N 19 Medan. The research sought to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of the developed E-Module. The study's population included 400 class X students, with a sample of 39 students from class X-7 selected using purposive sampling. The research followed the ADDIE model, comprising analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Data were collected and analyzed quantitatively, then converted into qualitative insights. Validation by material expert I scored 80% ("quite feasible"), material expert II scored 75.71% ("quite adequate"), media expert I scored 88% ("very feasible"), and media expert II scored 73.33% ("quite decent"). The Indonesian language teacher's response was 89.33% ("very appropriate"), and student responses averaged 85.12% ("very effective"). These results indicate that the flipping book-assisted E-Module for exposition text material is feasible and effective for enhancing HOTS.

The Rushdiyye School in Rawandz and its most prominent problems 1868-1916

Throughout the history, science and scholars have held a prominent position within Kurdish society. During ancient times, mosques, madrassas, and chambers served as the primary hubs for scientific knowledge and educational institutions. However, during the final phase of Ottoman administration in Kurdistan, the state officially established schools, including one in the city of Rawandz. The state covered the expenses of these schools, including teachers' salaries and the provision of educational materials for students. However, in contrast to other educational institutions in Rushdiya, the Rushdiya school in Rawandz exhibits several deficiencies and challenges. The subject matter revolved around education, students, and teachers. In this study, many scientific methodologies were employed, including historical analysis and the examination of textual materials as the primary source. Additionally, supplementary scientific sources such as books and research papers were utilized. Academic fields such as master's and doctorate theses, along with the use of comparative techniques sources and official calendars and papers of the Ottoman state, offer comprehensive insights into his life and accomplishments. This research aims to scientifically examine the Rushdieh School of Rawandz and the prominent issues that arose between 1868 and 1916. Despite these challenges, the school played a significant role in advancing the scientific interests of Rawandz and fostering the development of a new generation.

Pengembangan Media Interaktif Renderforest untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Teks Negosiasi Siswa Kelas X SMK Musda Perbaungan

This research aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of Render Forest interactive media on negotiation text material for class X at Vocational School Musda Perbaungan. The study involved 32 students as samples and utilized assessments from material and design expert validators. The results showed that the development was categorized as "Feasible." Material expert I rated it 84% ("Decent"), and material expert II rated it 81.33% ("Decent"). Media expert I rated it 94% ("Very Appropriate"), and media expert II rated it 80% ("Decent"). The Indonesian language teacher's assessment was 89.09% ("Very Decent"). The findings suggest that using Render Forest-assisted teaching materials significantly enhances the learning process. Overall, the study concludes that the interactive media is highly effective and suitable for classroom use, providing a valuable resource for improving student engagement and understanding of negotiation texts.

"Research paper mills": A factory outlet for dubious research.

The primary objective of any research, regardless of its domain such as health, technology, psychology, or any other subject, is to enhance the overall well-being of individuals. Rigorous processes are involved in conducting research ethically and in communicating its outcomes to society. However, as publishing research has become a mandatory requirement for career advancement and appointments, academics are resorting to several unethical practices to get substandard work published quickly. Consequently, predatory publishing markets have emerged, which publish data that is falsified and fabricated, along with plagiarised textual matter. The emergence of "paper mills" is a further step in the corruption of research, where a group of persons or automated systems generate papers for publication. Anyone desirous of publishing a paper can purchase one, akin to any desired fast-moving consumer product, with the added guarantee of publication in indexed journals. Therefore, paper mills and their unethical modus operandi are discussed in this paper in detail, with relevant examples. The article unfolds the consequences of publishing such fraudulent research papers and concludes with the challenges in combating paper mills.

What’s in the news? A multiscalar text analysis approach to exploring news media discourses for managing protected areas in Switzerland

Park management is often hampered where discourses – encompassing views, values and interests about parks - differ, emphasising the important role public engagement plays in park planning and management. News media are a promising source of unstructured text material for exploring environmental discourses. Here, we combine computational distant reading and close readings across temporal and thematic scales, with the overall aim of demonstrating how a multiscalar approach can be effectively used to explore discourses related to protected areas. We illustrate our aim through a case study in two Swiss Regional Parks with the objectives of a) computationally identifying emerging topics since the formation of the parks through distant reading and b) performing a detailed close reading exploring the discourses around two dominant topics. This multiscalar approach forms the cornerstone of our findings and allows us to explore different ways in which the two parks are valued and debated.

LINGUISTIC MARKERS OF EXTREMISM IN ISLAMIST TEXTS OF THE RELIGIOUS GENRE “SERMON”: METHODOLOGICAL ASPECT

Linguistic examination of texts with allegedly extremist content is carried out using special methods. The most popular today are lexical-semantic, semantic-syntactic methods, as well as the method of discourse anal-ysis, which allow an expert linguist to make an objective expert opinion on the issues raised. An expert linguist conduc ting an examination of texts with allegedly extremist content has to identify linguistic markers of extrem-ism that are implemented at all language levels. The linguistic examination of Islamist discourse texts involves taking into account genre features of a religious text, having an impact on linguistic markers. Islamist discourse is understood as texts related to political radical trends of Islamism. The article presents fundamental diff erenc-es between the terms “Islam” as a world religion and “Islamism” as a political trend. We propose an algorithm for the me thodology of analyzing texts of allegedly extremist content based on the material of an Islamist text of the “sermon” genre, the main function of which is to instruct believers. Linguistic markers of extremism in the sermon genre are identifi ed during the analysis and are classifi ed according to their main functions: motivation and appeal, negation, demonstration of the superiority of one person or group of persons over other people based on nationality, origin and attitude to religion. These linguistic markers are implemented using the following lin-guistic means: morphological (verbs of obligation, verbs of the 2nd person singular or plural in the imperative mood, the form of the imperative of the 1st person plural); syntactic (particles in imperative sentences, complex sentences with subordinate clauses, addresses in combination with verbs in the imperative mood of the 2nd per-son plural); rhetorical means (rhetorical questions, antithesis); lexical and semantic means (nouns, verbs and oth-er parts of speech with negative connotations); morphemic and word-formation means (comparative, superlative forms). The identifi ed linguistic markers realize the function of demonstrating superiority, appeal, negativity in relation to “strangers”, “others”.

ALLUSIVE HEADLINES IN THE MEDIA: AXIOLOGICAL ASPECT

The article is devoted to the analysis of newspaper headlines based on allusion. Using the material of texts published in 2023 in the newspapers Zavtra and Kommersant, which are diff erent in terms of ideological ori-entation and stylistics, the authors examine the axiological signifi cance of such factors as the choice of the source of allusion, the absence or presence of transformation, and the leading principle of playing with the original text. Both similarities and diff erences in the creation of allusive headlines are revealed. Both publications actively seek source material from phraseology, Russian classical literature and Soviet cinema, which is explained by the priority of marketing considerations: a headline that refers to an easily recognisable text is the most attractive. In the Zavtra newspaper, the sources of allusive headlines can be modern rude and ironic statements typical of colloquial speech and works of Russian classical literature that are well known to the mass addressee. In this case, the original form of the source text is either unchanged or minimally transformed, while retaining the original evaluative connota-tions. Recognition and comprehension of such allusive titles does not require additional cognitive eff orts from the addressee, which allows us to speak about the setting to attract the attention of the widest possible addressee. The specifi cs of Kommersant’s headlines lie in the more active use of precedent statements. The sources of allusions are not only phraseological phrases and works of Russian classical literature, but also precedent texts associated with Soviet realities and texts of fi ction that are not widely known. The precedent texts, regardless of their nature, are subjected to a “reducing” transformation through language play. The attractiveness of such titles is determined by the level of background knowledge of the addressee, who needs not only to identify the source text and understand the allusion in the title text, but also to correlate the axiological characteristics of the precedent and allusive texts. The authors of the article note that titling with the use of evaluative allusion is one of the regularly used methods of adjusting the media text to the target audience.
