Until now, at Pasar Raya Padang there is still a lot of garbage scattered about. As a result, market visitors feel disturbed by the unpleasant sight, because the pile of garbage occasionally emits an unpleasant odor. The aims of this research are: 1) To knowing the extent of the implementation of waste management at Pasar Raya Padang; 2) To find out what are the obstacles in implementing waste management at Pasar Raya Padang; 3) To find out what efforts have been made to implement waste management at Pasar Raya Padang. This type of research is qualitative research. In qualitative research, the data is described descriptively in the form of reports and descriptions (Nasution, 2016:87). Qualitative research is research that intends to understand the phenomenon of what is experienced by research subjects (eg behavior, perception, action, etc.), holistically, and by way of description in the form of words and language, in a special context that is natural and natural. by utilizing various natural methods (Moleong, 2017;: 87). The informants in this study consisted of The informants in this study consisted of: Head of Cleaning Division 1 person, Supervisor for Cleaning 2 people, Cleaning Officer 4 people, Traders at Pasar Raya Padang 4 people and 2 people market visitors. The types of data are primary data and secondary data collected through interviews, observations, and library research. The analysis technique used is qualitative analysis. The results of the research The waste management system in Pasar Raya Padang cannot be categorized as good, because there is still a lot of waste that is scattered around the market location. Even though the trash can already provided by the cleaning manager, the garbage is still there merchants who are not willing to dispose of their garbage in a suitable place already provided. Merchants do make trash cans around their stalls but only a formality or perfunctory perfunctory. The containers used by traders are not up to standard, namely a container that does not leak, does not smell and is durable.
