Learning model in adapted physical education based on online: the bibliography analysis in publication 2018 – 2023

This study aims to determine the conditions in the range of 2018-2023 related to scientific maps, publication trends, and the scope of thematic research in the field. On the theme of the online-based Adapted Physical Education Learning (APE) model, especially articles published in international journals with indexation of Scopus, PubMed, and Crossref. In addition to the research and data sources to be used in the bibliometric analysis as many as 2200 articles were found through the keywords "learning model”, “APE”, and “online" in the article title & abstract". To explore and identify key thematic areas as well as topics that appear in publications using keyword co-occurrence analysis. To support data analysis and visualization processes obtained from Harzing's Publish or Perish and VOSviewer applications. The results of this study show that the online learning model in APE is a research trend that has been in great demand in the last 5 years and is still developing. In the visualization section, high keyword density is presented in 8 clusters, namely: (1) student; (2) practice; (3) treatment; (4) study; (5) experience; (6) patient; (7) parent; and (8) strategy. Bibliometric analysis in the form of mapping provides information about publication development patterns in the field of online learning in APE. These findings contribute to future research, especially the need for in-depth research focusing on one or more themes that are still rarely studied such as treatment, risk factors, deep learning models, distress, healthy control, cyberbullying, professional health, and digital tools. Deciphering the growth of digital payment adoption: an extensive SPAR-4 bibliometric exploration

Purpose This study aims to perform a detailed bibliometric analysis of digital payment adoption and map the trends and growth in this field by examining seminal works, conceptual foundations and intellectual networks. Design/methodology/approach The Scientific Procedures and Rationales for Systematic Literature Reviews (SPAR-4-SLR) technique was applied to retrieve 1,016 journal articles from Scopus and Web of Science (2003–2023). Diverse performance analyses and science mapping methods were performed using the Biblioshiny package in R to gain a comprehensive understanding of the field’s knowledge base. Findings The findings reveal a significant increase in scholarly interest, marked by a surge in publications and citations in recent years. Co-citation and factorial analysis identified distinct research clusters, delineating core themes and suggesting future research avenues relevant to theoretical exploration in digital payment technologies. Originality/value This study is a groundbreaking effort to explore the adoption of digital payment through bibliometric analysis. It uniquely addresses key domains for science mapping, including intellectual and conceptual structures. These innovative findings provide valuable insights for future practitioners, academics and aspiring researchers in the field.

Increasing access to biomarker-driven treatment for lung cancer in Alabama: The Alabama Access initiative.

159 Background: Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in Alabama, with an estimated 2,550 deaths in 2024. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) represents 85% of these cases. Despite national guidelines recommending comprehensive biomarker testing (CBT) for metastatic NSCLC, significant disparities persist in the utilization of CBT and targeted therapies among Alabama residents. Methods: In March 2024, we launched the "Alabama Access" initiative – a partnership between the LUNGevity Foundation and the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham – to foster academic and community oncology partnerships to increase access to biomarker-driven treatments. We used a population health science and geospatial mapping approach to visualize oncology practices serving counties with Alabama's highest lung cancer burden. Practices in Walker, Dothan, Marengo, Morgan, Jackson, Marshall, and Montgomery counties were identified as the highest priority based on annual mortality rates. Key interventions will include virtual molecular tumor boards and oncology navigation to facilitate the integration of resources and expertise and ensure that patients in nonacademic practices benefit from the latest advances in precision oncology. After roll-out, we will collect feasibility and acceptability data around program integration. Results: Our analysis revealed that 62.0% of the state’s population resides in Primary Care Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs), and 58 out of 67 counties are classified as Medically Underserved Areas. The poverty rate in 89.6% of counties surpasses the national average, contributing to higher lung cancer incidence and mortality rates, with 62.0% of cases diagnosed at advanced stages. The state also shows a higher smoking prevalence, affecting 97.0% of counties compared to national figures. We will present practice-level testing data, including barriers to CBT. Conclusions: This pilot aims to mitigate disparities in CBT through enhanced collaboration between academic and community oncology settings. Integrating molecular navigation into community practices will be pivotal in disseminating program information and collecting data on current testing practices to improve overall lung cancer care quality in Alabama.

HERITAGE TOURISM: A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OVER THREE DECADES (1994-2023)

This qualitative study explores the relationship between tourism and places recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites, whether tangible (WHS) or intangible (ICH). In the last two decades there has been a growth in the number of resources with UNESCO recognition. It aims to fill the research gap in the analysis of heritage tourism using bibliometric techniques. Data were collected from 886 documents in the period 1994-2023 (December) from the Web of Science database. Using the VOSviewer software, scientific maps were created showing the current and future line of research in this scientific field. The results show evidence of related research on Tourism sustainability at UNESCO sites in China and Tourism sustainability of cultural heritage for the whole period. In addition, two new research topics from 2016 are identified: Motivation and satisfaction of heritage tourists and Authenticity of intangible heritage. The results help to visualise the structure and trends of heritage tourism research, which can help researchers, policy makers and destination marketing organisations (DMOs) to gain knowledge and understanding of existing studies and current research topics.

A Bibliometric Analysis of Ehealth Literacy: Evaluating Approaches to Promote Health and Well-Being in the Context of SDGs

Objective: This study aims to track the current research progress in the field of eHealth literacy by conducting a bibliometric analysis, focusing on trends and developments, particularly during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: A bibliometric analysis was employed to examine the publication trends, key contributors, and predominant research topics within the eHealth literacy domain. Performance analysis and science mapping techniques were used to provide a comprehensive overview of the field. Results and Discussion: The analysis revealed significant publication trends, identified leading contributors to the field, and highlighted key research topics that have emerged. The study visualizes the entire phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, offering insights into how the pandemic has influenced research directions in eHealth literacy. Research Implications: By providing a macroscopic perspective, this study fills gaps left by traditional literature reviews, presenting a more complete picture of the field. The findings also suggest future research directions as the impact of the pandemic on eHealth literacy continues to evolve. Originality/Value: This study presents the first bibliometric analysis of research on eHealth literacy during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering a rigorous review of the latest advancements in the field. By examining emerging trends, the study highlights the critical role of emerging technologies in enhancing eHealth literacy. Furthermore, it provides practical insights into promoting health and well-being through sustainable digital solutions, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to health and innovation.

Application of Blockchain in Procurement and Management of Building Services: A Critical and Systematic Review

Building services systems are essential for creating a comfortable and safe living environment in buildings. These are complex systems with high stakeholder involvement, a lengthy lifecycle, and high financial costs. This leads to building services systems having complex procurement and management (P&M) requirements which create a multitude of challenges. Blockchain technology has emerged as a revolutionary digital technology under “Procurement 4.0”. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the applicability of blockchain technology for systematic procurement and management of building services. The science mapping method was used to systematically and quantitatively analyse 102 publications related to bibliographic records retrieved from Scopus and the Web of Science databases. This includes content analysis of the existing issues, current trends of technologies, and applicability of blockchain in the P&M of building services. The results of the bibliometric analysis indicate that publications had grown significantly faster in 2021 related to the P&M of building services with new technologies while there is a minimal collaboration of countries, organisations and authors in publishing research in this area. Further, it is observed that Building Information Modelling (BIM) is the main technology utilised in general P&M. As a result of content analysis, a total of 28 issues that affect the performance of procurement and management of building services are identified. The paper critically evaluates blockchain technology in terms of peer-to-peer networks, hashing algorithms, public key cryptography, consensus mechanisms, smart contracts, and distributed ledger. It indicates that blockchain provides a perfect match for resolving these issues. The findings of the research will open a path to apply blockchain technology in building services. The study offers a readily available point of reference for practitioners, policymakers and research and development bodies.

Comparative science mapping: a novel conceptual structure analysis with metadata

AbstractTextual analyses on scientific publications are increasingly employed in Bibliometrics to explore the conceptual structure of a research domain, often overlooking other rich metadata that can provide deeper insights into the scientific landscape of reference. This paper introduces an innovative technique to explore the conceptual structure of different observation units in a joint representation. The proposed strategy segments bibliographic datasets based on several metadata dimensions, such as the authors (and their characteristics), the corresponding institutions, or their geographical localisation. It provides detailed maps that depict multiple conceptual frameworks, allowing for detailed comparisons and insights in a joint visualisation. We employed these strategic diagrams to visualise and analyse the oncological research of Italian Academic Medical Centres (AMCs), particularly focusing on public institutions. The analysis focuses on how different AMCs specialise and interact, providing a comparative framework that aids AMCs themselves in directing their research strategies toward innovative fronts. Furthermore, these visualisations can assist policymakers and healthcare stakeholders in understanding the broader research environment, which is crucial for informed decision-making regarding funding and policy development related to the AMCs’ triple mission.

Mapping the Intellectual Structure of Metaphor Research in Visual Communication: A Bibliometric Analysis

Metaphor is a powerful rhetorical device used primarily in the field of visual communication, particularly in branding, advertising, book design, and packaging. Although metaphor is used so frequently, there is limited existing literature examining the area. Consequently, this study aims to address this gap by performing a bibliometric analysis to map the existing literature and identify key topics for future research. Using VOSviewer and CiteSpace software, we selected 217 related articles from the Web of Science for the period from 2000 to March 2023. The performance analysis shows a growing interest and a steadily increasing literature development before peaking in 2023. Metaphor research focuses primarily on the fields of communication, linguistics, and business. It is worth noting that the United States holds a dominant position in terms of publication quantity and academic influence. By scientific mapping with keywords coincidence, seven research themes were characterized, including conceptual metaphor, visual metaphor, and multimodal metaphor. In addition, themes such as visual rhetoric, consumer perception, and advertising play a central role in metaphor research, emphasizing metaphor as a strategy in visual communication that influences consumer attitudes and emotions. This study provides valuable insights for potential future research efforts endeavours to seeking to explore this area in more depth.

Scientific production on Para Athletics: A bibliometric review

Background: A comprehensive evaluation of the scientific production in the sport of Para Athletics, encompassing both quantity and quality, is lacking. Aim: To perform a quantitative and qualitative bibliometric analysis using science mapping techniques, to investigate publication trends, author network clusters, and keyword occurrence linked to the scientific production in the PA sport. Methods: Studies related to PA were identified throughout a search across the databases PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science (Core Collection). Results: From an initial pool of 2,350 documents, 149 were deemed eligible and incorporated into the study. Most studies were published in the last 10 years, mainly in journals related to the fields of Sport Sciences and Rehabilitation. The keyword analysis revealed 364 unique keywords, 8 distinct clusters, 287 connections. Bibliometric examination unveiled 21 authorship network clusters, comprising 260 links. Countries that contributed with most research (75.7% of all published articles) includes United States, Canada, Brazil, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, South Africa, Japan, and Australia. Conclusion: Research related to PA has increased exponentially in recent years, particularly in the fields of Sport Sciences and Rehabilitation. Collaborative research (authorship network clusters) seems prevalent, and all continents demonstrated participation in published studies, albeit with different relative contributions.

Mapping the evolution and research landscape of ferroptosis-targeted nanomedicine: insights from a scientometric analysis.

Notable progress has been made in "ferroptosis-based nano drug delivery systems (NDDSs)" over the past 11years. Despite the ongoing absence of a comprehensive scientometric overview and up-to-date scientific mapping research, especially regarding the evolution, critical research pathways, current research landscape, central investigative themes, and future directions. Data ranging from 1 January 2012, to 30 November 2023, were obtained from the Web of Science database. A variety of advanced analytical tools were employed for detailed scientometric and visual analyses. The results show that China significantly led the field, contributing 82.09% of the total publications, thereby largely shaping the research domain. Chen Yu emerged as the most productive author in this field. Notably, the journal ACS Nano had the greatest number of relevant publications. The study identified liver neoplasms, pancreatic neoplasms, gliomas, neoplasm metastases, and melanomas as the top five crucial disorders in this research area. This research provides a comprehensive scientometric assessment, enhancing our understanding of NDDSs focused on ferroptosis. Consequently, it enables rapid access to essential information and facilitates the extraction of novel ideas in the field of ferroptotic nanomedicine for both experienced and emerging researchers.

SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE AND THE ROLE OF CYBER-PHYSICAL SYSTEMS: A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS

Cyber-Physical Systems are next-generation digital systems that focus on the intricate connections and integration between the physical and digital worlds. These systems have highly integrated physical, communication, control, and computing components. The study's purpose is to carry out a bibliometric analysis to explore the research trends, collaboration network, and thematic evaluation of papers on cyber-physical systems. The most prolific countries, authors, sources, highest citations received by authors, and co-occurrences in this research domain were identified. The bibliometric analysis method was employed to empirically analyze the research on CPS in architecture published between 2007 and 2022 in the Web of Science database. All retrieved records were initially filtered by excluding 364 non–non-peer-reviewed publications and another type of languages except English. After that, we excluded 8 records based on the criteria and scope, and again excluded records for duplicates 12 records. Finally, 1336 records met the eligibility criteria. The VOS viewer and biblioshiny software was used to construct the scientific maps. A total of 1336 publications were analyzed. The study results show that the highly cited papers have been published in 297 journals by 4520 authors from 1483 organizations in 83 countries. The most prolific journal was IEEE Access, with 104 publications, 3823 citations, and an h-index of 24. The number of documents progressively increased from 2010 to 2021. Further, 2009 has no publications, and the largest number of articles was published in 2021 (n=272). Furthermore, China led the way with the most publications, active organizations, prolific authors, and international collaborations. This is the first study to look at the global trends in research on CPS in architecture and provides valuable guidelines and motivations for further research. Future studies may also examine the main hazards connected with using cyber-physical systems to manage operations across various industries and sectors.

Trends and Research Issues of Augmented Reality in Education: A Bibliometric Study

This study aims to comprehensively review Augmented Reality (AR) research in education through a bibliometric analysis of 1,850 journal articles and proceedings published between 2015 and 2023. Data were obtained from the Scopus database, which focused on social science subjects. This study focuses on two main aspects: performance analysis and science mapping. The results show a consistent upward trend in AR research, with the United States leading the number of publications, followed by China, Spain, Taiwan, and Turkey. The most influential authors are Akçayır, M. and Akçayır, G., with the highest number of citations. Visualization using VOSviewer yielded seven research clusters, highlighting the role of AR and VR in interactive teaching, simulation, and engineering education. The findings also suggest further research opportunities in the areas of "nursing education," "simulation," and "educational innovation," affirming AR's potential for innovative and sustainable learning. This research contributes to the understanding of the development of AR in education and serves as a useful reference for other researchers interested in studying AR in education.

State-of-art review of resilience of bridges and bridge networks

In recent years, many attempts have been made to incorporate resilience frameworks into decision making, establish the best use of available resources and reduce the impact of hazards on bridges and bridge networks. However, scholarly research in this area is still in its early phases, with minimal exploration of research gaps and future prospects. A state-of-the-art review of bridge and bridge network resilience studies using a science mapping approach is presented here. Research on the topic was obtained from the Scopus literature database. The literature database was then analysed using VOSviewer and Nvivo tools to display the domain-specific body of knowledge. The study then focused on the most prolific researchers and disaster types, bridge resilience assessment approaches, current research trends, future directions and theoretical and practical implications. The research paradigm on the resilience of bridges and bridge networks is changing toward the usage of digital tools and technologies. In this context, a framework id proposed by integrating building information modelling/geographic information systems and digital twin models. The proposed framework can aid bridge owners in accumulating iterative data, creating multi-hazard disaster preparedness policies and designing and enhancing life-cycle management and maintenance tasks of bridges and bridge networks.

Research impacts and trends in feedback literacy: a bibliometric analysis

Given its prominence in maximising feedback processes, feedback literacy has received large scholarly attention over the past decade. This article aims to use a bibliometric approach to provide an overview of the evolution of feedback literacy from 2012 to May 1, 2024. Based on 240 documents retrieved from Scopus, a performance analysis and science mapping were conducted to explore research trends and impacts in feedback literacy. The performance analysis identifying volume, key authors, principal journals, and leading institutions reveals the research impacts in the feedback literacy landscape. The science mapping adopted the bibliometric software, VOSviewer, to analyse keyword co-occurrences and co-citations and visualised research trends in feedback literacy. Findings reveal two key authors, David Carless and David Boud, a top principal journal, Assessment and Evaluation in Higher Education, and two leading institutions, the University of Hong Kong and Deakin University leading the feedback literacy field. It also reveals important themes in feedback literacy research: student and teacher feedback literacy, peer feedback and assessment, ecological perspectives, development and validation of feedback literacy scales, and L2 writing. This paper sheds light on the current state of feedback literacy research and provides insights and trajectories for different stakeholders in the education sector.

Cultural heritage preservation in the digital age, harnessing artificial intelligence for the future: a bibliometric analysis

PurposeThis study aims to investigate the performance analysis, science mapping and future direction of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, applications, tools and software used to preserve, curate and predict the historical value of cultural heritage.Design/methodology/approachThis study uses the bibliometric research method and utilizes the Scopus database to gather data. The keywords used are “artificial intelligence” and “cultural heritage,” resulting in 718 data sets spanning from 2001 to 2023. The data is restricted to the years 2001−2023, is in English language and encompasses all types of documents, including conference papers, articles, book chapters, lecture notes, reviews and editorials.FindingsThe performance analysis of research on the use of AI to aid in the preservation of cultural heritage has been ongoing since 2001, and research in this area continues to grow. The countries contributing to this research include Italy, China, Greece, Spain and the UK, with Italy being the most prolific in terms of authored works. The research primarily falls under the disciplines of computer science, mathematics, engineering, social sciences and arts and humanities, respectively. Document types mainly consist of articles and proceedings. In the science mapping process, five clusters have been identified. These clusters are labeled according to the contributions of AI tools, software, apps and technology to cultural heritage preservation. The clusters include “conservation assessment,” “exhibition and visualization,” “software solutions,” “virtual exhibition” and “metadata and database.” The future direction of research lies in extended reality, which integrates virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR); virtual restoration and preservation; 3D printing; as well as the utilization of robotics, drones and the Internet of Things (IoT) for mapping, conserving and monitoring historical sites and cultural heritage sites.Practical implicationsThe cultural heritage institution can use this result as a source to develop AI-based strategic planning for curating, preservation, preventing and presenting cultural heritages. Researchers and academicians will get insight and deeper understanding on the research trend and use the interdisciplinary of AI and cultural heritage for expanding collaboration.Social implicationsThis study will help to reveal the trend and evolution of AI and cultural heritage. The finding also will fill the knowledge gap on the research on AI and cultural heritage.Originality/valueSome similar bibliometric studies have been conducted; however, there are still limited studies on contribution of AI to preserve cultural heritage in wider view. The value of this study is the cluster in which AI is used to preserve, curate, present and assess cultural heritages.

Machine learning misclassification networks reveal a citation advantage of interdisciplinary publications only in high-impact journals

Given a large enough volume of data and precise, meaningful categories, training a statistical model to solve a classification problem is straightforward and has become a standard application of machine learning (ML). If the categories are not precise, but rather fuzzy, as in the case of scientific disciplines, the systematic failures of ML classification can be informative about properties of the underlying categories. Here we classify a large volume of academic publications using only the abstract as information. From the publications that are classified differently by journal categories and ML categories (i.e., misclassified publications, when using the journal assignment as ground truth) we construct a network among disciplines. Analysis of these misclassifications provides insight in two topics at the core of the science of science: (1) Mapping out the interplay of disciplines. We show that this misclassification network is informative about the interplay of academic disciplines and it is similar to, but distinct from, a citation-based map of science, where nodes are scientific disciplines and an edge indicates a strong co-citation count between publications in these disciplines. (2) Analyzing the success of interdisciplinarity. By evaluating the citation patterns of publications, we show that misclassification can be linked to interdisciplinarity and, furthermore, that misclassified articles have different citation frequencies than correctly classified articles: In the highest 10 percent of journals in each discipline, these misclassified articles are on average cited more frequently, while in the rest of the journals they are cited less frequently.

Mapping global research in the field of health biotechnology for the period 1990–2023. A bibliometric analysis

Purpose The purpose of this study focused on a global longitudinal bibliometric mapping of research in the field of health biotechnology between 1990 and 2023 to determine who is leading this field of knowledge and to estimate the sub-disciplines that are emerging and project those that will prevail in the future. Design/methodology/approach The study identified the most relevant countries, institutions and researchers, as well as the type of scientific collaborations. The applied steps applied in the study were the following: identification and selection of keyword terms by a panel of experts; design and application of an algorithm to identify these selected keywords in titles, abstracts and keywords using Web of Science terms to contrast them; performance of JCR data processing during 2023 using R, Python and VOSviewer. Findings Among the most relevant conclusions of the study are the following exponential growth has been observed in the study period; new branches of knowledge have emerged in which the subjects have been acquiring their own autonomous capabilities; and R&D in this field is still concentrated in a small group of core countries, and the trend is for it to remain so due to the capacity needs required. Originality/value This contribution seeks to systematize the existing scientific knowledge in the field of biotechnology, specifically in the area of health, using the technique of scientific mapping based on a logical model of indicators that aims to determine potential thematic ramifications.

Effects of transformational leadership and organizational climate on project performance in industrial revolution 5.0: a systematic literature review

Purpose The relationships between transformational leadership (TL), organizational climate (OC) and project performance have been investigated by previous studies, but no review of existing studies has systematically analyzed the effects of TL and OC on project performance in the industrial revolution (IR) 5.0 era. Therefore, this study aims to conduct a systematic literature review on the effects of TL and OC on project performance in IR 5.0, and to identify mainstream research topics, research gaps and future research directions. Design/methodology/approach To do this, a total of 53 included journal articles were obtained after initially retrieving 648 documents from the Scopus database by following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. It consists of four main steps, namely, identification of documents, screening, eligibility and included articles. In addition, science mapping analyses were conducted for keyword co-occurrence and document analyses, which aided in identifying the mainstream research topics, research gaps and future research directions. Findings The results report the annual publication trends, keywords and document analyses. Furthermore, a detailed qualitative discussion highlighted four mainstream research topics including TL in project management; the relationship between TL, OC and innovation; safety climate; and OC in project management. Moreover, this review study identified four research gaps and future research directions aligned with the mainstream research topics. They include: longitudinal investigations and multinational corporation surveys in TL; scope and longitudinal data in innovation; mono-method bias and universality of safety climate; and more comprehensive analyses of OC. Originality/value This review study would contribute to not only advancing the effects of TL and OC on project performance in IR 5.0, but also enabling project managers to understand TL or OC issues to improve project performance.

The pulse of buying: mapping the conceptual structure and decoding impulse purchase patterns

Purpose This study aims to conduct a rigorous bibliometric analysis of impulse buying research trends and patterns, map the conceptual landscape of the field, identify significant themes and propose a roadmap for future studies in this domain. Design/methodology/approach This study used Snyder’s (2019) four-step systematic review approach. By using a specific search string, articles from the past 21 years (2003–2023) were retrieved from the Scopus and Web of Science databases. Performance analysis and science mapping were conducted using Biblioshiny to analyze the field’s knowledge base. Findings The volume and influence of impulse buying research have surged over the past two decades. The factorial analysis identified three main sub-themes within the impulse buying literature. In addition, Bradford’s law confirmed that the top five journals account for a significant portion of the relevant research. Despite the increased publications, author productivity diverges from Lotka’s law, indicating a few influential authors. This study provides a detailed conceptual map of the research landscape and proposes targeted future research questions by highlighting untapped opportunities. Research limitations/implications This study offers insights for refining marketing strategies and highlights the importance of ethical considerations in marketing, especially during crises. It also strengthens the theoretical foundation of impulse buying by mapping core themes and identifying unexplored areas. Originality/value This study introduces an innovative approach by using factorial analysis with the multiple correspondence analysis technique to develop a detailed conceptual structure map of impulse buying research.
