The role and impact of new technologies on healthcare systems

AbstractThe integration of new technologies into healthcare systems is revolutionizing the industry by significantly enhancing the capabilities of healthcare providers, improving patient outcomes, and optimizing administrative operations. This comprehensive examination critically assesses the impact of these technologies on various stakeholders within the healthcare ecosystem, highlighting both the benefits and challenges. Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), which refers to the simulation of human intelligence by machines, the Internet of Things (IoT), which involves interconnected devices that collect and exchange health-related data in real time, Blockchain, which is a decentralized and tamper-proof ledger technology used to securely manage patient data, and wearable devices are explored for their potential applications in diagnostics, treatment, and patient monitoring. Despite their transformative potential, these technologies also bring forth a range of limitations and challenges, including ethical concerns regarding patient privacy, legal implications of data security, and technical hurdles related to interoperability and implementation. By addressing these issues, the healthcare industry can better navigate the complexities of technological advancement, ensuring that innovation contributes positively to patient care and operational efficiency.

Adjusting expectations actionable: Personalised treatment plan in anticipation of data-driven healthcare

Our paper is a case study of the making of data-driven healthcare and anticipation work done by developer-experts in a project for implementation of an integrated patient data management platform in Finland. We focus on ‘personalised treatment plan’, a trope that experts regularly use when talking about the objectives of data management reform and their wishes for datafication of healthcare. We conceive of the personalised plan not primarily as a future vision or an outcome, but rather a tool of anticipation of work. Our analysis demonstrates two purposes for which the developer-experts used this tool. First, the plan enabled them to reconfigure the general expectations of datafication actionable and adoptable in the actual world of healthcare and to articulate datafication technology-to-come as concrete hopes and wishes, plans and assessments in the contexts of clinical practices and administration. Second, experts used the idea of a personalised plan for reasoning over and management of their own work. Among the fuzziness and commotion of the complex project, the plan helped them to create and maintain a workable order between the expectations, tasks and functions that the datafication technology should accomplish in healthcare in the future. Furthermore, we discuss the limitations of anticipation to take the specific political and economic contexts into account, which made the developers unprepared for the political interruption of the project.

Analysis of the Implementation of Electronic Medical Records in Efficiency, Productivity, and Performance of Health Services at the Sriamur Bekasi Health Center with the Wellbeing Method

The application of digital technology in health services has significantly improved efficiency and service quality. Electronic Medical Record (E.M.R.) is a technology implementation that records, stores, and manages patient medical data electronically. This study aims to analyze the impact of using E.M.R. on the productivity and efficiency of health services at the Sriamur Bekasi Community Health Center. This research uses the Wellbeing method with a qualitative approach. Primary data was collected through in-depth interviews and questionnaires distributed to the medical and administrative staff of the Sriamur Community Health Center. Secondary data on the number of patients before and after E.M.R. implementation was also analyzed. The leading indicators measured include service time, quality, error rate, and human resource utilization. The research results show a significant increase in productivity and efficiency after E.M.R. implementation. The number of patients served per day increases, and the time required for recording and retrieving patient data is reduced. Respondents indicated high satisfaction with using E.M.R., with the majority assessing that the system helps speed up administrative processes and improve the accuracy of medical data. Implementing E.M.R. at the Sriamur Bekasi Community Health Center has increased the medical staff's operational efficiency and productivity. This technology makes it easier to access and manage patient data and reduces the administrative burden so that medical personnel can focus more on health services. To maximize the benefits of E.M.R., ongoing training and regular evaluation of existing systems and procedures are required.

Machine learning models for personalised healthcare on marketable generative-AI with ethical implications

Personalised healthcare, underpinned by a deep understanding of individual patient variability, demands innovative solutions. Machine Learning (ML) models offer a promising avenue to achieve this by facilitating the development of enhanced Digital Twins (DTs). This research proposes a novel framework for creating DTs tailored to individual patients, considering not only physical attributes but also the intricate interplay of social, and biological factors. By capturing this comprehensive patient profile, ML-powered DTs have the potential to revolutionise healthcare by enabling predictive, preventive, and personalised care strategies, ultimately leading to improved patient outcomes and the development of a marketable, trust-worthy product. Current healthcare solutions lack personalisation, often failing to consider individual differences in disease presentation and response to treatment. Traditional DTs in healthcare often adopt a disease-centric or organ-specific approach, thereby restricting their capacity to deliver comprehensive, personalised care. To address this limitation, we propose a holistic Artificial Intelligence (AI) framework centered on ML models. Initially focusing on diabetes, our research aims to enhance diagnosis, treatment, and predictive capabilities through personalised insights, thereby optimising patient outcomes and care management. The benefits identified with our ML model are early disease prevention and risk stratification, optimised treatment planning and therapy selection, enhanced patient-physician communication and shared decision-making, reduced healthcare costs and improved resource allocation. Our models are designed to optimise patient care while prioritising safety and societal benefit. To ensure this, we have conducted a thorough assessment of potential ethical implications. Key challenges identified include data privacy and security, algorithmic bias, diagnostic accuracy, data interoperability and standardisation, integration with existing healthcare systems, ethical management of sensitive patient data, refinement of ML methodologies, addressing legal and ethical AI challenges, and suggesting robust ethical guidelines. A comprehensive evaluation of accuracy, reliability, and associated risks will be conducted prior to full-scale integration into the healthcare ecosystem to establish a robust ethical framework for our research models.

CardioGuard: AI-driven ECG authentication hybrid neural network for predictive health monitoring in telehealth systems

The increasing integration of telehealth systems underscores the importance of robust and secure methods for patient data management. Traditional authentication methods, such as passwords and PINs, are prone to breaches, underscoring the need for more secure alternatives. Therefore, there is a need for alternative approaches that provide enhanced security and user convenience. Biometric-based authentication systems uses individuals unique physical or behavioral characteristics for identification, have emerged as a promising solution. Specifically, Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals have gained attention among various biometric modalities due to their uniqueness, stability, and non-invasiveness. This paper presents CardioGaurd, a deep learning-based authentication system that leverages ECG signals—unique, stable, and non-invasive biometric markers. The proposed system uses a hybrid Convolution and Long short-term memory based model to obtain rich characteristics from the ECG signal and classify it as authentic or fake. CardioGaurd not only ensures secure access but also serves as a predictive tool by analyzing ECG patterns that could indicate early signs of cardiovascular abnormalities. This dual functionality enhances patient security and contributes to AI-driven disease prevention and early detection. Our results demonstrate that CardioGaurd offers superior performance in both security and potential predictive health insights compared to traditional models, thus supporting a shift towards more proactive and personalized telehealth solutions.

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN HEALTHCARE FOR EFFECTIVE INFORMATION GOVERNANCE

Serving as the first Chief Information Governance Officer (CIGO) at a venerable healthcare facility, this paper provides a thorough and strategic framework for switching from traditional paper-based record-keeping to an advanced Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. The organisation's long history spanning more than 50 years and its enormous, diversified data gathering present serious problems relating to data integrity, privacy, and security to this significant transformation that aims to improve patient care and operational efficiency. An in-depth discussion of information governance in healthcare is provided in this paper, with particular attention paid to data quality management, stringent privacy and security regulations, and the tactical use of data to spur innovation in healthcare. Along with providing a comprehensive overview of the digital transformation in healthcare, it critically examines the effects on patient care of emerging digital technologies such as wearable health devices, big data analytics, and the Internet of Things (IoT). An extensive literature review and an annotated bibliography bolster these analyses. Moreover, the paper offers a thorough plan for digital transformation that will guarantee compliance with legal and moral requirements, improve patient care, and establish the company as a pioneer in patient data management and healthcare innovation. In addition to addressing concerns such as data integrity problems brought on by a lack of solid administrative control and data handling standards, the study examines social media's potential as a marketing tool while considering pertinent legal and policy considerations. Finally, the paper offers particular metrics to evaluate the impact and efficacy of the information governance program, ensuring that it aligns with the organisation's objectives and the changing landscape of digital healthcare to guarantee these initiatives' successful implementation and oversight.

Design And Implementation of Blockchain-Based Security Solutions for Electronic Health Records (EHRS): Enhancing Data Integrity and Privacy

A block chain-based electronic health record (EHR) system is the primary focus of this study. To improve data security and interoperability, healthcare is increasingly looking to cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) systems and block chain technology. It delves into the topic of choosing the right cloud infrastructure, data management methodologies, and block chain technology to guarantee the availability, integrity, and security of patient data. We go over every detail of the system's design and implementation, from the block chain network and cloud storage layer to the user interface. By comparing it to more conventional EHR systems, the pilot research finds that the new system is more capable of protecting, exchanging, and managing patient data. We take a look at the pros, cons, and obstacles that might prevent a cloud EHR system based on block chain from being widely used. Insights and suggestions from this study address the obstacles, give direction for effective adoption, and are of great value to healthcare organisations thinking about implementing such systems. Perancangan Sistem Informasi Pengolahan Data Rekam Medis Elektronik Guna Menunjang Tata Kelola Pelaporan Rawat Jalan

Recording and reporting medical records is the main activity in health service institutions, and hospital information systems play an essential role in this process. Outpatient data processing at XYZ Hospital uses spreadsheets and Google Sheets even though it has yet to implement SIMRS fully. Because the data in the SIMRS must be changed for each spreadsheet report, there are several reporting problems. Therefore, the authors begin to develop a web-based outpatient reporting system after researching the need for more efficient applications. This study uses a qualitative approach to data collection through interviews and observations, focusing on developing a waterfall software. The results showed that searching and managing patient data and making outpatient recapitulation reports became easier for medical record officers. Implementing this system brings several concrete impacts, including reducing human errors in data recording, increasing the speed of access to medical information, and increasing time efficiency in making reports. This system also allows better data integration between hospital departments, improving patient care coordination and the overall quality of health services.

Retrospective analysis of the resuscitation room management of nontraumatic critically ill children in a university emergency department (OBSERvE-DUS-PED study)

The establishment of a resuscitation room management for nontraumatic critically ill children appears to make sense. This study collected data of pediatric patients suffering from nontraumatic critically ill conditions treated in aresuscitation room. The retrospective OBSERvE-DUS-PED study (November 2019-October 2022) recorded pediatric patients (age < 18years) who were admitted to the emergency department (ED) for resuscitation room care. The routinely documented data on treatment were taken from the hospital information system MEDICO® and the patient data management system COPRA® in accordance with the OBSERvE dataset. The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Medical Faculty of the Heinrich Heine University (2023-2377). The study included 52pediatric resuscitation room patients. Adolescents aged 14-17years were the most frequent in the cohort representing 37% of the total and neonates/infants (0-1year) were lowest at 8%. The most common symptoms categorized according to ABCDE problems were disturbance of consciousness(D) at 61%, cardiovascular failure(C) at 25%, respiratory insufficiency(B) at 6%, airway obstruction(A) and exposure/environment (E) problems each at 4%. The out-of-hospital and in-hospital emergency procedures were performed with the following frequencies: venous (58%vs. 65%), intraosseous (14%vs. 2%) and central venous access (0%vs. 12%), invasive airway management (35% vs.8%), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (21%vs. 10%), vasopressors (15%vs. 17%), and intra-arterial pressure measurement (0%vs. 17%). The mean duration of resuscitation room management was 70 ± 43 min. The 30-day mortality was 17%. The OBSERvE-DUS-PED study demonstrates the major challenges in the care of critically ill nontraumatic pediatric patients, both in out-of-hospital and in-hospital management. The variety and complexity of the referral diagnoses as well as the immediate vital threat to the patients make it appear sensible to treat such patients primarily in aresuscitation room of the ED due to the available material, infrastructural and personnel resources.

2024 HRS perspective on advancing workflows for CIED remote monitoring

Cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) generate substantial data, often stored in image or PDF formats. Remote monitoring, now an integral component of patient care, places considerable administrative burdens on clinicians and staff, in large part due to the challenge of integrating these data seamlessly into electronic health records (EHRs). Since 2006, the Heart Rhythm Society, in collaboration with the CIED industry, has led an initiative to establish a unified standard nomenclature. This effort has harmonized terminology, aligning diverse terms with single terms approved by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. With this foundational work complete, attention now turns to developing technical standards for interoperability, which would enable the smooth communication of CIED data between information technology systems used in clinical practice. In this manuscript, by leveraging Health Level 7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources, we present a roadmap for the technical committee to guide this endeavor. We identify critical data exchange points between remote transceivers, EHRs, and third-party platforms commonly used for CIED patient data management. Our objective is to establish bidirectional communication among these resources, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and accessibility of clinical data for clinicians. We also anticipate substantial benefits for both clinical research and administrative efficiency through the implementation of this interoperability framework.

Technology Integration in Community Nursing: Opportunities and Challenges

The integration of technology in community nursing has brought about significant changes in the way health services are delivered. The background to this research is the increasing use of information and communication technology, such as telehealth, telemedicine, and mobile health applications, which have been proven to increase the accessibility and efficiency of health services. However, this process also faces various challenges, including the digital divide, data security and privacy issues, and the need for health workers to adapt to new technologies. The aim of this research is to identify the benefits and challenges of technology integration in community nursing and provide recommendations for improving the quality and accessibility of health services. The research method used is a literature study, where various sources of information from scientific journals, books, research reports and related documents are analyzed in depth to gain a comprehensive understanding of this topic. Research results show that technology has provided various benefits, such as increased access to health services, efficiency in managing patient data, and more coordinated care. However, challenges such as the digital divide, data security and privacy, and adaptation of the health workforce still need to be overcome. Continuous training and strong organizational support are needed to ensure health workers can operate technology well and make optimal use of it. The implications of these findings include the need for strict regulations and advanced security technologies to protect patient data, as well as the importance of involving communities in the technology introduction process to increase social and cultural acceptance of health technologies.

Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSD) Health Data Collection, Personalized Management and Exchange Using Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR).

With the proliferation and growing complexity of healthcare systems emerges the challenge of implementing scalable and interoperable solutions to seamlessly integrate heterogenous data from sources such as wearables, electronic health records, and patient reports that can provide a comprehensive and personalized view of the patient's health. Lack of standardization hinders the coordination between systems and stakeholders, impacting continuity of care and patient outcomes. Common musculoskeletal conditions affect people of all ages and can have a significant impact on quality of life. With physical activity and rehabilitation, these conditions can be mitigated, promoting recovery and preventing recurrence. Proper management of patient data allows for clinical decision support, facilitating personalized interventions and a patient-centered approach. Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) is a widely adopted standard that defines healthcare concepts with the objective of easing information exchange and enabling interoperability throughout the healthcare sector, reducing implementation complexity without losing information integrity. This article explores the literature that reviews the contemporary role of FHIR, approaching its functioning, benefits, and challenges, and presents a methodology for structuring several types of health and wellbeing data, that can be routinely collected as observations and then encapsulated in FHIR resources, to ensure interoperability across systems. These were developed considering health industry standard guidelines, technological specifications, and using the experience gained from the implementation in various study cases, within European health-related research projects, to assess its effectiveness in the exchange of patient data in existing healthcare systems towards improving musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).

Educational psychology for the effective management of medical-psycho-pedagogical centres: a correlation study

Introduction. Educational psychology focuses on the psychological aspects of learning and teaching to optimise education by understanding how individuals develop skills and acquire knowledge in an educational context.Aim. The study aims to understand how educational psychology can help the effective management of medical-psycho-pedagogical centres (CMPPs) and to identify the links and synergies between the principles of educational psychology and the practice of managerial aspects within such centres.Research methodology and methods. The authors used a quantitative methodology based on a non-experimental correlational study. The sample included 100 CMPPs in the Ile-de-France region. The directors of these centres were invited to complete the questionnaire hosted on the Google Forms platform. The results were processed using IBM SPSS 29.Results and scientific novelty. Of the six relationships studied, the results revealed four significant relationships between the “psychology of education” variable and managerial aspects, namely team structure and management, quality and safety of care, patient data management and interprofessional cooperation. The above-mentioned relationships represent 80% of the significant relationships between educational psychology and managerial aspects. The scientific novelty of the research lies in examining the relationship between educational psychology and managerial dimensions, providing a clear vision of the essential role of educational psychology in the management of CMPPs.Practical significance. These results underline the importance for each country of integrating the principles of educational psychology into the development of their CMPPs. This is particularly crucial for Morocco, in alignment with the 2015–2030 strategic vision to establish these centres.

Kepuasan Pengguna Fitur Medis ePuskesmas dengan Model EUCS dan DeLone &amp; McLean di Sumedang

An ePuskesmas is a health information system developed through the collaboration of the Sumedang District Health Office and PT Infokes Indonesia. It offers various features to aid health workers at Puskesmas, notably the medical feature for managing patient data during polyclinic examinations. However, this feature faces issues such as synchronization difficulties with Pcare, slow system responses due to high user traffic, and frequent errors. This study aims to assess user satisfaction with the medical features of ePuskesmas using the End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) model and the DeLone and McLean Model. The study involves 93 respondents, including nurses, midwives, and doctors from Sumedang Regency Health Center, selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis is performed using SmartPLS 3.2.9 with PLS-SEM. The results indicate overall user satisfaction with the medical features of ePuskesmas. Out of 8 hypotheses, 3 are accepted, and 5 are rejected. Key factors influencing user satisfaction include Accuracy, Ease of Use, and Information Quality. This research is important to find out whether the system developed by related parties is in accordance or not with the end user

A qualitative, multi-centre approach to the current state of digitalisation and automation of surveillance in infection prevention and control in German hospitals

BackgroundHealthcare associated infections (HAI) pose a major threat to healthcare systems resulting in an increased burden of disease. Surveillance plays a key role in rapidly identifying these infections and preventing further transmissions. Alas, in German hospitals, the majority of surveillance efforts have been heavily relying on labour intensive processes like manual chart review. In order to be able to identify further starting points for future digital tools and interventions to aid the surveillance of HAI we aimed to gain an understanding of the current state of digitalisation in the context of the general surveillance organisation in German clinics across all care-levels. The end user perspective of infection prevention and control (IPC) professionals was chosen to identify digital interventions that have the biggest impact on the daily surveillance work routines of IPC professionals. Perceived impediments in the advancement of surveillance digitalisation should be explored.MethodsFollowing the development of an interview guideline, eight IPC professionals from seven German hospitals of different care levels were questioned in semi- structured interviews between December 2022 and January 2023. These included questions about general surveillance organisation, access to digital data sources, software to aid the surveillance process as well as current issues in the surveillance process and implementation of software systems. Subsequently, after full transcription, the interview sections were categorized in code categories (first deductive then inductive coding) and analysed qualitatively.ResultsResults were characterised by high heterogeneity in terms of general surveillance organisation and access to digital data sources. Software configuration of hospital and laboratory information systems (HIS/LIS) as well as patient data management systems (PDMS) varied not only between hospitals of different care levels but also between hospitals of the same care level. Outside research projects, neither fully automatic software nor solutions utilising artificial intelligence have currently been implemented in clinical routine in any of the hospitals.ConclusionsAccess to digital data sources and software is increasingly available to aid surveillance of HAI. Nevertheless, surveillance processes in hospitals analysed in this study still heavily rely on manual processes. In the analysed hospitals, there is an implementation and funding gap of (semi-) automatic surveillance solutions in clinical practice, especially in healthcare facilities of lower care levels.

Determinants of Intention to Use of Hospital Information Systems among Healthcare Professionals

Health information systems (HISs) are instrumental in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of hospital operations, from managing patient data to enhancing decision-making processes. This study, which holds significant implications for the healthcare industry, aimed to identify the factors that influence users’ intentions to use HISs. The research involved interviews with healthcare professionals licensed to use the HIS of a public hospital. The survey, conducted in 2020, received 113 responses. Statistical methods of descriptive analysis, correlation, and multiple linear regression were used. Two models were examined. The first model investigated the relationship between the dependent variable of the intention to use an HIS and the independent variables of perceived time savings and perceived privacy protection. The second model explored the impact of age and education as control variables in the connection between the intention to use an HIS and time savings and privacy protection. A significant moderate positive correlation was found between the intention to use an HIS and perceived time savings, while a significant weak positive correlation was detected between the intention to use an HIS and education. Regression analysis in the first model revealed a significant connection between the intention to use an HIS and perceived time savings. However, the perceived privacy protection variable did not show a significant relationship with the dependent variable. The second model showed statistical significance in the relationship between the intention to use an HIS and education, but not with the second control variable, age. It can be concluded that education strengthens the positive impact of perceived time savings on the intention to use a health information system (HIS), a finding that has immediate and practical implications for healthcare professionals and researchers in the field of health information systems and healthcare management, underlining the importance of this research in advancing the understanding and adoption of HISs in healthcare settings.

EFFECTIVENESS OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES AT ANANDA BEKASI HOSPITAL CONCERNING THE LEVEL OF PATIENT OR COMMUNITY SATISFACTION

As a health service institution such as a hospital, its responsibility is to provide services that meet the health needs of the community. Quality service health own roles important in increase health and well-being whole public. The aim of this research is to examine the effectiveness of administrative services at Ananda Bekasi Hospital and its impact on the level of community satisfaction. Through a comprehensive approach, this research evaluates hospital administration processes, including the registration process, patient data management, and communication with patients. Data was collected through interviews and observations to measure public perceptions of administrative services. The method used is by analyzing data to understand the contributing factors to levels satisfaction community as well as recommendations for improvements that can be made by Ananda Bekasi Hospital. Research results indicated that effectiveness service administration at Bekasi City Hospital had an impact positive to levels satisfaction public.

Point-of-care testing: state-of-the art and perspectives.

Point-of-care testing (POCT) is becoming an increasingly popular way to perform laboratory tests closer to the patient. This option has several recognized advantages, such as accessibility, portability, speed, convenience, ease of use, ever-growing test panels, lower cumulative healthcare costs when used within appropriate clinical pathways, better patient empowerment and engagement, and reduction of certain pre-analytical errors, especially those related to specimen transportation. On the other hand, POCT also poses some limitations and risks, namely the risk of lower accuracy and reliability compared to traditional laboratory tests, quality control and connectivity issues, high dependence on operators (with varying levels of expertise or training), challenges related to patient data management, higher costs per individual test, regulatory and compliance issues such as the need for appropriate validation prior to clinical use (especially for rapid diagnostic tests; RDTs), as well as additional preanalytical sources of error that may remain undetected in this type of testing, which is usually based on whole blood samples (i.e.,presence of interfering substances, clotting, hemolysis, etc.). There is no doubt that POCT is a breakthrough innovation in laboratory medicine, but the discussion on its appropriate use requires further debate and initiatives. This collective opinion paper, composed of abstracts of the lectures presented at the two-day expert meeting "Point-Of-Care-Testing: State of the Art and Perspective" (Venice, April 4-5, 2024), aims to provide a thoughtful overview of the state-of-the-art in POCT, its current applications, advantages and potential limitations, as well as some interesting reflections on the future perspectives of this particular field of laboratory medicine.

Implementasi Sistem Informasi Puskesmas (SIP) di Puskesmas Baki Sukoharjo

The Primary Healthcare Information System is an arrangement that provides information to assist the decision-making process in implementing Puskesmas management in achieving its activity facilities. According to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 2019 article 2, it aims to: 1) Realize the implementation of an integrated Primary Healthcare information system. 2) Ensuring the availability of quality, sustainable, and easily accessible data and information. 3) Improve the quality of health development in its working areas through strengthening the management of Puskesmas. Based on the above background, the researchers are interested in knowing how to implement the Public Health Center Information System at the Baki Sukoharjo Primary Healthcare. This type of research is a descriptive analytic study with a qualitative approach with the aim of getting a picture or description of an actual situation. Primary Healthcare Baki started using SIMPUS Webbased in 2006 which was carried out by medical record personnel, to open the program the Puskesmas had to enter the specified website and then enter an id and password, this program was used to manage patient data and was integrated with P-Care. Optimizing the use of the SIMPUS application and planning the development of the SIMPUS according to the needs of the Puskesmas and the standard for reporting the Primary Healthcare information system Keyword: SIP, Primary Healthcare, SIMPUS

Assessing the Level of Knowledge, Implementation Practices, and Use of Digital Applications for the Optimal Adoption of the Nutrition Care Process in Greece.

The level of NCP implementation varies across countries due to differences identified in major components of health systems such as infrastructures, legislation, training, and cultural diversities. Dietitians in Greece receive sufficient training in the implementation of the NCP as part of their main studies; however, the level of awareness and adoption of the NCP model is still quite low, with limited information on the potential barriers. The primary aim of this study was to gain a deeper understanding of the perspectives of Greek dietitians on the NCP and the use of digital tools. An online survey was created and distributed through the platform "SurveyMonkey version 4.1.1". The overall structure of the questionnaire was modeled according to the validated NCP/NCPT INIS Tool. A total of 279 subjects were included in this study, and 192 were aware of the NCP tool. The most important challenges for the implementation of the NCP included communication with other healthcare professionals (68.2%), provision of appropriate care (33.9%), and insufficient access to continuous education (29.2%). Of the 192 participants who knew the NCP, 81.3% reported using digital applications for the collection and assessment of health data, while 18.8% indicated that they did not utilize such tools. No relationship was found between the use of digital applications by dietitians, NCP knowledge, and demographic characteristics. Our findings highlight the need for targeted educational interventions and appropriate application of standardized protocols by Greek dietitians in daily practice. National Dietetic Associations should provide sufficient guidance on digital tool utilization in facilitating patient data management and enhancing NCP implementation.
