Determinants of managerial perceptions of the impact of telework: The effect of information communication technology support, trust, and frequency of communication

Considering teleworking's pros and cons on organizational performance and the importance of managers on teleworking maintenance, this study aims to analyze three resources that influence managers' perceptions of teleworkers' effectiveness during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using a sample of 170 small and medium enterprise managers in Spain, the hypotheses were empirically tested through path analysis, and the model was estimated using the maximum likelihood method. Based on the job demands-resources model, this study contributes to the teleworking literature by demonstrating how the frequency of communication with teleworkers and managers' trust in employees are positively related to managers' perceptions of the organizational impact of teleworking. These relationships are not direct but are mediated by the perceived effectiveness of organizational communication. These findings have important managerial implications as they indicate the context that ensures managers' support for teleworking. Although this study has some limitations, such as its focus on a specific country or its cross-sectional nature, it lays the foundation for future studies considering individual, organizational, or sectoral variables that could moderate the analyzed relationships.

Through a series of workshops, seminars, case studies, as well as mentoring and consultation sessions, this training offers practical and applicable insights. A Practical-Education Trial Combining Quality Control Techniques and Examination Questions for a Small and Medium Enterprise Management Consultant

The purpose of this research is to develop an educational method to enable students in higher education to acquire practical problem-solving skills. In an attempt to do so, "Concept development theory", which is offered as a compulsory subject of the course, has been designed and its effectiveness is being discussed in this report. First, students learn seven quality control (QC) tools and new seven tools for QC mainly used in the manufacturing industry for the application to actual social or enterprise issues. Subsequently, the students are tasked to work on the past business cases described in the national examination of the qualification for a small and medium enterprise (SME) management consultant. The cases are prepared by the Japanese government to assess the consulting capability of the applicants for the qualification and are assumed as quasi-real business situations, which they would face in the real world. The students read these cases and answer questions that are prepared especially for this class. With these case studies, they are expected to find and resolve issues, which leads to their practical skill acquisition. Although this approach is still in its infancy, the reaction of students has been very positive and is being presented as a case study.

Digital Management of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Activities Based on the Unified Approach

Purpose: Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is an important part of today's Indonesian economy. The times have allowed many people to do their own business. Along with the many existing businesses, many business actors are marketing for the sustainability of their business. A web-based information system that can accommodate information about Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises management is one of the main needs for MSME actors themselves. Methods/Study design/approach: In addition, the public can use this web-based information system to obtain detailed information on MSME and MSME products through the web. Making the web using the PHP programming language where the approach taken in the design is the Unified Approach used as a method in object-based system development. Result/Findings: From the final results of this study, it can be concluded that the web-based MSME Activity Management Information System can help mass marketing of MSME players and help related agencies to find out the development of existing MSME. Novelty/Originality/Value: The website was built can help and accelerate the marketing process for existing MSMEs and can be used as a medium of communication between MSMEs and visitors.

Applications of the Small and Medium Enterprise Management System Using the Clustering Algorithm

The traditional small and medium enterprise management system has a low efficiency of operation and management. A small and medium enterprise management system based on a clustering algorithm is designed in this paper to address this problem. In the proposed algorithm, the management system architecture is planned. The overall framework of the management system is designed based on the architecture theory. The management module is set up to realize the design of the management system. The system operation data management storage mode is set up to shorten the staff management and execution process. A multiunit management module is used to realize the management, operation, and propaganda management of enterprise expenditure. The effectiveness of the designed system is tested using simulation-based experiments to simulate the management and operation mode of the medium- and small-sized enterprise. Experimental results show that the efficiency of the designed management system is about 34% higher than that of the traditional management method, and the operation is stable.

Applications of Small and Medium Enterprise Management System Using Edge Algorithm

The traditional small and medium enterprise management system has a low efficiency of operation and management. A small and medium enterprise management system based on an edge algorithm is designed in this paper to address this problem. In the proposed algorithm, the management system is used for efficient information transmission and sharing. The system consists of a collaborative function layer, data service layer, basic environment layer, and application layer. The application layer realizes the storage and integration of enterprise information data through the regulation of the collaborative management center and realizes the privacy encryption protection of information based on the protection mechanism of edge computing. The information is transmitted to the data layer for classified storage through the network communication of the basic environment layer. The collaborative function layer takes the process management control engine combined with each service interface to complete the information retrieval of the data layer. It uses the algorithm based on the number of fusion common scoring users and information interest relationship to query and push information. The test results show that the system has good information query performance, pushing query information in one minute. The running function can meet the user needs and effectively achieve information privacy protection.

Benefits of Cost of Goods Manufactured Calculation Training for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Managers (Case Study at Dipo and Sam Garage UMKM)

The current situation shows that the manager of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have a low ability to calculate the cost of goods manufactured. Low ability is shown by means of simple calculations without being based on theoretical knowledge required as a basis for calculation. To improve the skills of MSME managers in determining the cost of goods manufactured, training is given using technical guidance methods with mentoring programs. This study aims to determine the benefits of these training activities. The research method used is descriptive with a comparative approach, namely comparing the conditions before and after the training activities. Problems Caused by the Impact of COVID-19 on Small and Medium Enterprises Management and its Solutions

The present paper has been made a comparative analysis of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic-related restrictions and lockdown on their activity. At the same time has been analysed pre- and post-pandemic periods. Also, the paper provides opinions about the ways how to mitigate and avoid impact on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) caused by pandemics, which might reoccur in the future. The importance of SMEs in the world and Georgian economy has been estimated in terms of added value, GDP, turnover, manufacturing products, and working place formation. It has been concluded that SMEs can handle some minor and short-term issues by themselves with the elaboration of the business continuity plan and crisis management scenarios, but these still are needed the active involvement of state aid. The latter implies financial support and professional, informational, and technical support as well, such as state internet-platform available for SMEs for interactive coordination and communication between the parties and for rapid action from the state on those fields which has been damaged mostly.

Analysis on the influential factors of transformation resistance of small and medium enterprise managers

The majority of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Taiwan are original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) or original design manufacturers (ODMs). Given the growing intensity of global competition, transformation from OEM or ODM to a branded enterprise is a key concern for SMEs. SMEs’ branding processes are subject to numerous problems and among them, resistance by organization members is considered the most critical. Previous studies have largely focused on factors contributing to branding success or resistance by an organization’s employees, and few have addressed the implications of SMEs managers’ resistance to branding. To address the research gap, this study constructs a cognitive model for managers’ resistant behavior while drawing on the theory of planned behavior. Then, applying structural equation modeling, this study confirms that four exogenous variables, perceived belief, changes in job characteristics, organizational inertia, and social factors, directly influence two endogenous variables, managers’ attitude toward resistant behavior and the subjective norms of resistant behavior. Using demographic variables as independent variables, this study conducts a logistic regression analysis to predict companies resistant to branding on the basis of their background characteristics. The results highlight that the three factors with the highest predictive powers are organizational inertia, job position, and capitalization.

The role of organizational culture in the implementation of the strategic change management mechanism at the enterprise

Introduction. The study presents the identification of the place of organizational culture in the paradigm of modern management, which solves the practical problem of optimizing the mechanism of strategic change management at the enter-prise. The purpose of the article is to solve the practical problem of optimizing the mechanism of strategic change manage-ment at the enterprise in the paradigm of modern management. Results. The place of organizational culture in the mechanism of change management as a component of indirect fac-tors of influence of a strategic direction is defined. The essence of organizational culture is revealed through such compo-nents as a set of techniques and rules for solving problems of external adaptation and internal integration of employees, a set of the most important assumptions, a complex set of assumptions, a set of provisions, a set of basic beliefs, complex composi-tion of different assumptions and preconditions. The system-forming elements of organizational culture are considered: behavioral components, moral and ethical components, cognitive components, material components. Global and local goals of organizational culture formation, as well as tools for their implementation are identified. The relevance of adjusting the mission of the enterprise in accordance with the principles of social responsibility, which includes elements of external and internal corporate strategy. Conclusions. The peculiarities of the implementation of the organizational culture paradigm in the business envi-ronment of Ukraine are revealed, taking into account such characteristics as: legal nihilism, which led to the deformation of legal consciousness; attitude to the costs associated with the formation and maintenance of elements of organizational culture as unproductive; low level of awareness of the business role in social processes; uneven consideration of stakeholders inter-ests, lack of management skills in organizational culture in small and medium enterprises managers. THE STATE AND PROSPECTS OF MARKETING STRATEGIES FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM BUSINESS ENTERPRISES IN UKRAINE

The subject of research is the transform processes taking place at Ukrainian small and medium enterprises and development of theirs marketing strategies. The purpose of the work is to study the role of marketing strategies for small and medium enterprises in Ukraine. The article solves the following tasks: analysis of small and medium enterprises functioning in Ukraine; determining the functioning differences between their marketing management and the marketing management of large industrial enterprises; a description of the marketing strategies developed by the small and medium enterprises. Methods of mathematical statistics, theoretical generalization, marketing researches have been used. The following results were obtained: The general situation at the small businesses in Ukraine was analyzed. The state of small and medium business enterprises in the conditions of creation of united communities and their possible entry into territorial clusters as a tool for increasing the competitiveness of some economic entities of the region was considered. The organization differences between marketing management at large industrial enterprises and small businesses were given. Since international partners have repeatedly pointed out the lack of modern economic education at the small and medium enterprises management, the directions for its possible receipt were presented. It was shown that since the concept of marketing in a market economy is the basis of successful entrepreneurial activity, it became required to develop a theoretical and methodological base at the state level in order to take into account the features of small and medium businesses and coordinating the related actions. The ways of developing small and medium enterprises marketing strategies are given. Conclusions. The necessity to increase the innovative potential of small and medium enterprises in Ukraine in the conditions of administrative reform; development of entrepreneurial skills in the persons engaged in this process and development of marketing strategies of the corresponding enterprises has been confirmed.

A Statistical Analysis of the Self-employed Small and Medium Enterprise Management Consultants

The Role of Psychological Safety and Psychological Empowerment on Intrapreneurial Behavior towards Successful Individual Performance: A Conceptual Framework

Though a substantial number of researches have been documented between psychological safety, psychological empowerment and individual level performance, the manner through which these relationships transpires is scarcely studied, principally as regards to individual performance of middle managers in medium enterprises. To address this shortfall and to expound further on these relationships, several researchers proposed mediating variables to better explain the relationship between these variables. Accordingly, this paper proposes intrapreneurial behavior as a mediating variable on the psychological safety, psychological empowerment and individual level performance relationships of middle managers in Nigerian medium enterprises. Psychological safety, psychological empowerment and intrapreneurial behavior relationships have been deliberated, followed by the intrapreneurial behavior and middle manager successful performance relationship and lastly the proposed mediating role of intrapreneurial behavior on the psychological safety, psychological empowerment and individual level performance relationships.

Tourism Small and Medium Enterprise Management Practices and Firm Performance

A better understanding of tourism small and medium enterprise (TSME) management practices could improve firm performance. Extending the resource-based view theory, this study empirically investigated the causal relationships between management practices and TSME firm performance using a structural equation model and survey data of 346 tourism entrepreneurs. Six of the nine hypotheses were confirmed. It was found that business planning, entrepreneurial motivation, and government assistance do have a direct and positive effect on TSME firm performance. Additionally, entrepreneurial motivation was positively associated with business planning, business alliance, and firm performance; however, business alliance and Internet adoption did not affect firm performance. The findings highlight the importance of management practices that have previously been overlooked in policy decision making within the tourism industry.

Entrepreneurial and Intrapreneurial Skills of Managers as Determinant of Organizational Performance of Small and Medium Enterprises in Davao Region, Philippines

The growing need to determine intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship gained sizable attention in the field of business administration. This study surveyed a total of 400 Small and Medium Enterprise managers chosen from Southern Mindanao, Philippines. The results of the study revealed that the indicators of entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial skills of managers were very evident, while the organizational performance seemed to be another thing that need attention by the managers themselves. There was a significant relationship between entrepreneurial skills and organizational performance. In the same way, the intrapreneurial skills of managers had significant bearing on organizational performance as well. Likewise, both entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial skills bear impact on organizational performance.
