This study was conducted to provide baseline database by investigating the relationship among body image, general appearance management behavior and psychosocial health of women defected North Korea. From December 2014 to February 2015, total 201 participants were enrolled in this study. The data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 program. The results were as follows: 1) The score of body image was 2.65±1.02 in 5 points. Subjects had a lot of make-up and clothes behaviors. However exercise, food intake behaviors of subjects were lowerer than average. Psychosocial health score was 42.95±5.69. Whole 99.5% was high risk group. 2) There were significant correlation among the body image, general appearance management behavior, BMI and intent weight loss. In general appearance management behavior, there were significant positive correlation between sub categories. Psychosocial health revealed positive correlation with make-up and clothing management behaviors and age. Also in general characteristics, there were significant correlation among the age, BMI, intent weight loss and interest toward plastic surgery. Therefore, it would be utilized in developing programs for the positive body image building and appearance management behaviors. Moreover, it could be helped they have psychosocial health.
