Examples of two dimensional ordered magnetic systems are cited and their significance outlined. They should make possible a direct and unambiguous observation of the zero-point spin deviation in a pure antiferromagnetic crystal for the first time, and may stimulate interest in the possible effects of bound magnon states on magnetic properties.
