Thallous sulphide layers have been prepared by us by the method of chemical deposition for the first time. With suitable electrode contacts, these cells exhibit photoconducting property in the visible and near infrared regions. The spectral distribution of photoconductivity, the lux-ampere characteristics and the response time of these cells have been obtained. The influence of certain dopants on the photosensitivity and dark conductivity of these cells have been studied and discussed.
