On the Excitation Mechanism of Electroluminescence of Evaporated ZnS; Cu, Mn Thin Film

A Formula for the voltage dependence of electroluminescence (Sasaki, Karita and Omoto: Japan. J. appl. Phys. 7 (1968) 1038) is modified to include the effect of voltage drop across the whole part of the film as well as the barrier region. The modified formula is shown to explain the saturation of luminescence in higher voltage region observed in evaporated ZnS; Cu, Mn thin films.
