The article is about human values and discusses the cooperative games as a social and educative principle. Its ob- jective was to investigate teachers' percep tion about values development through a ludic way, in the classes of Physical Education, which contributes to a change of thoughts concerning violence. As methodology, bibliographical and fi eld research were used, whose instruments were applied to teachers of Rio de Janeiro municipal district, working at Clube Escolar Mangueira. In order to manage data, it was used the analysis of content based in Bardin (1977). As a conclusion, the study showed that the act of playing makes possible the development of values through ludic activities, when there is the intentionality of the teacher to focus ethics and cooperative principles to minimize violence in class.
