Study on the Legal Risks of Social Entities' Participation in Non-Emergency Transfers

Non-emergency transfer multi-level protection system is an important livelihood project in China and an important diversified support for a sound Chinese-style modern social security system, as well as an ideal governance tool to effectively solve the problems of non-emergency demand crowding out the emergency capacity, unbalanced transfer resources and differences in the quality of service, imperfect management mechanism and laws and regulations, and low social acceptance. We use structural theory to analyse the main problems in the current practice of China's non-emergency transfer security system, accordingly construct the non-emergency transfer security system, and put forward suggestions to promote the development of the system in a benign cycle. Improve the internal resource allocation mechanism to enhance the efficiency of non-emergency transfer services; focus on the cultivation of the talent team to steadily improve the quality of services; optimise the management system and strengthen the articulation mechanism to boost patients' beliefs in recovery; and strengthen the all-round management of information technology for market supervision to deepen the emotional communication and connection.

Nursing students' work readiness and its influencing factors before participating in a nurse residency program: a multicenter cross-sectional study.

Studies have shown that work readiness is closely related to nurses' role adaptation, career development, and patient safety. However, we know little about the nursing students' work readiness and its influencing factors before participating in a nurse residency program, and whether factors have changed from before. (1) To investigate the work readiness of nursing students ready to engage in a nurse residency program; (2) to identify the factors affecting the nursing students' work readiness and the associations between emotional intelligence and work readiness; and (3) to discuss the changes of factors affecting nursing students' work readiness. An online, multicenter cross-sectional study. 878 nursing students from eight tertiary hospitals in Chongqing, China were recruited. The online investigation used the General Information Questionnaire, the Nursing Students' Work Readiness Scale, and the Emotional Intelligence scale. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS V23.0. 768 valid questionnaires were included in this study. The nurses obtained a work readiness score of 277.08 ± 44.39 and an emotional intelligence score of 89.57 ± 13.89. Univariate analysis revealed that the following factors affected work readiness: age, sex, family support for becoming a nurse, voluntary choice of nursing major, previous experience as a student cadre, scholarship recipient status, willingness to engage in nursing work during the COVID-19 pandemic and confidence in clinical nursing practice. Frequent incidents of violence, poor salary for nurses for the nurse residency program, and low social acceptance were the top three reasons for decreased confidence in clinical nursing among nursing students. Furthermore, multiple linear regression analysis indicated that age, voluntary choice of nursing major, student leadership experience, confidence in clinical nursing work, self-emotion, and emotional application significantly influenced nurses' work readiness. Clinical instructors and administrators should dynamically assess nurses' work readiness, prioritize individuals aged ≤23, who have chosen the nursing profession involuntarily, lack prior experience as student cadres, and exhibit low confidence in clinical nursing work. This focus will enhance their emotional self-management skills and ability to apply emotions effectively, improving their work readiness and training efficacy.

An exploratory study to identify the factors influencing community pharmacist retention by using COM-B model

BackgroundDue to multitude of gaps in Pakistan's healthcare system, community pharmacies serve as the” first port of call” for various illnesses. However, the present scarcity of pharmacists in these settings poses significant challenges to healthcare delivery in the country. This scarcity is primarily due to difficulties in retaining pharmacists for community practice. The aim of this study was to explore the factors that influence the retention of community pharmacists by using COM-B model. MethodsA qualitative methodology employing the COM-|B model was utilized to design this study. In-depth interviews were conducted with pharmacists experienced in community pharmacy practice, at time and place convenient to them. Data were transcribed, translated and analyzed by deductive thematic analysis in accordance with the constructs of COM-B model. ResultsA diverse range of factors were identified that negatively influenced the retention of community pharmacists including working conditions and proprietor's demeanor, deficiency in training and intern experience, lack of career planning, low social acceptance, less salary and job satisfaction, less regulatory control and aptitude of renting out category. Conversely, the study also identified the factors that motivate community pharmacists to stay in their roles despite the challenges including strong educational background, abundant job opportunities, flexible schedules, direct patient engagement and positive impact on sales. ConclusionThere was an observed discrepancy between the challenges faced by community pharmacists and the motivators that encourage them to continue their job. Due to a disparity and abundance of challenges rather than motivators, retention rates for community pharmacists are low. This imbalance shed light on areas where improvements are needed to enhance pharmacist retention. Various areas for change were highlighted including strict implementation of regulations, integration of practical experience of community pharmacy practice and internships into academic programs, career guidance, and raising patient awareness about the roles of community pharmacists.

Travel Plan Sharing and Regulation for Managing Traffic Bottleneck Based on Blockchain Technology

To alleviate traffic congestion, it is necessary to effectively manage traffic bottlenecks. In existing research, travel demand prediction for traffic bottlenecks is based on travel behavior assumptions, and prediction accuracy is low in practice. Thus, the effect of traffic bottleneck management strategies cannot be guaranteed. Management strategies are often mandatory, leading to problems such as unfairness and low social acceptance. To address such issues, this paper proposes managing traffic bottlenecks based on shared travel plans. To solve the information security and privacy problems caused by travel plan sharing and achieve information transparency, travel plans are shared and regulated by blockchain technology. To optimize the operation level of traffic bottlenecks, travel plan regulation models under scenarios where all/some travelers share travel plans are proposed and formulated as linear programming models, and these models are integrated into the blockchain with smart contract technology. Furthermore, travel plan regulation models are tested and verified using traffic flow data from the Su-Tong Yangtze River Highway Bridge, China. The results indicate that the proposed travel plan regulation models are effective for alleviating traffic congestion. The vehicle transfer rate and total delay rate increase as the degree of total demand increases; the vehicle transfer rate increases as the length of the time interval decreases; and the vehicle transfer rate and total delay rate increase as the number of vehicles not sharing their travel plans increases. By using the model and method proposed in this paper, the sustainability of urban economy, society, and environment can be promoted. However, there are many practical situations that have not been considered in this paper, such as multiple entry and exit bottlenecks, multiple travel modes, and other control strategies. In addition, this paper considers only one bottleneck rather than road networks because of the throughput limitations of blockchain technology.

Achieving Education for All: A Comparative Study of Educating Disabled Children in the UK and China

Educating disabled children is a vital part to reach universal education, as well as social equality and justice. This study conducts a comparative analysis of inclusive education policy practices for disabled children in the UK and China. The research investigates the policies employed in both countries to provide equitable educational opportunities for disabled students. Key similarities and differences in the two systems are identified, involving how cultural, societal, and policy factors influence the design and effectiveness of inclusive education. The research findings indicate that while the UK emphasizes inclusive practices and individualized support, China focuses on integration within mainstream classrooms. Challenges were observed in both systems, including a lack of professional training and teacher resources. By comparing and evaluating successful strategies, though from the lens of human development, students in China may benefit more from the UK’s inclusive policy, however, policy needs to be localized to combat country-specific barriers such as low social acceptance. This research contributes to the global discourse on inclusive education, facilitating cross-cultural learning and policy enrichment to ensure all children regardless of disability receive an equitable and quality education.

Chinese adolescents’ attitudes and beliefs about shy, unsociable, and socially avoidant peers

ABSTRACTPeers play an important role in socially withdrawn adolescents’ adjustment. Using a dyadic peer‐rating approach, this study examined adolescents’ attitudes and beliefs about real‐world, rather than hypothetical, subtypes of socially withdrawn peers. Data were drawn from 274 adolescents (Mage = 13.23 years, SD = .68; 52% boys) from rural China. Adolescents rated each classmate's withdrawal motivation (shyness, unsociability, and social avoidance) and attitudes and beliefs about each classmate, including affiliative preference, social acceptance, prosocial orientation, teacher liking, negative impact, and learning problems. Results indicated that adolescents had pervasive negative perceptions of socially avoidant peers on all the outcomes except for teacher liking, and occasionally negative perceptions of shy peers, including low social acceptance and more learning problems. In contrast, adolescents did not perceive unsociable peers differently compared to non‐withdrawn peers. Gender differences were found only for social avoidance with avoidant girls occasionally eliciting more negative perceptions than avoidant boys. These findings uncovered the complexity of young adolescents’ perceptions of socially withdrawn peers in rural China and highlight the need for more efforts to support the healthy development of socially avoidant adolescents.

Relationship between emotional divorce and alexithymia among married women in Saudi Arabia

BackgroundEmotional divorce occurs when a couple continues to live together due to necessity and coercion but they do not have a positive or constructive relationship, which negatively affects the stability of married life. Due to the low social acceptance of a formal divorce in the Saudi society, emotional divorce is common in several families. The rigidity of feelings and emotions within the family and the inability to express them may indicate the presence of alexithymia, which could result in the collapse of the family system and place the people involved at risk of mental health problems such as depression. Therefore, it is important to determine the prevalence of emotional divorce among married women in Saudi Arabia and to examine the relationship between emotional divorce and alexithymia.MethodsData were collected from 305 married women in Saudi Arabia (Mage = 33.24 years; SDage = 4.87 years), using the Emotional Divorce Scale and the Alexithymia Scale.ResultsResults revealed that 78.36% of the participants experienced moderate to severe levels of emotional divorce. Working women, those who had been married for more than ten years, and those with five or more children exhibited a higher incidence of emotional divorce as compared to their counterparts. A linear regression analysis indicated that alexithymia was significantly associated with emotional divorce in this sample.ConclusionThese results suggest the need for examining the negative consequences of emotional divorce on the family and society. Additionally, it is important to educate young individuals of marriageable age about the nature of married life, and ways to deal with problems that occur. Finally, couples should be encouraged to express their positive and negative emotions with their spouse to build the marital relationship, and achieve compatibility and marital satisfaction.

The Burden of Anabolic Androgenic Steroid-Induced Gynecomastia.

Introduction Gynecomastia is benign proliferation of male breast tissue that can be idiopathic or secondary to hormonal imbalance. Consumption of steroids plays a major role in the development of gynecomastia. The increased consumption of anabolic androgenic steroid (AAS) in youngsters to boost the physical strength and improve appearance is associated with increased prevalence of gynecomastia. True estimation of AAS-associated gynecomastia is difficult to calculate and prone to underestimation because of low social acceptance. Accurate estimation is required to assess future healthcare, for prevention and to give appropriate treatment. Aims and Objectives The aim of this study was to calculate the steroid consumption in gynecomastia patients accurately so that appropriate treatment can be given and their response to treatment could be analysed. Methods This is a prospective study done in a tertiary care hospital from June 2019 to June 2022. All the gynecomastia patients treated during this period in Burns & Plastic Surgery Department of PGIMS Rohtak were included in the study. Patient's detailed history was recorded and also after 3 months of surgery patients were again enquired about their history to record any change. Results Real prevalence of AAS-associated gynecomastia (39.19%) was much higher than that recorded in preoperative period (4.05%). Also, AAS users were having higher body mass index and a greater proportion of patients were bodybuilders. Conclusion Patients with high body mass index, athletic body, and history of recent weight gain should raise the suspicion of anabolic steroid intake. Surgery is not always indicated in AAS-associated gynecomastia. If gynecomastia persisted, surgery necessitates and it involves meticulous intraoperative hemostasis and careful glandular excision to minimize recurrence and achieve low complication rates.

Examining the Potential of Marine Renewable Energy: A Net Energy Perspective

It is often claimed that marine renewable energy alone could meet the electricity demand of current and future human societies. However, such claims are based on highly uncertain estimations of the global potentials of marine renewable energy sources (including tidal, ocean currents, wave, offshore wind and salinity and thermal gradients), and do not take into account the embedded energy of current technologies. To better understand the effective potential of marine energy, we conducted a literature review of its gross, technical, economic and sustainable potentials, as well as the energy return on investment (EROI), and estimated the net energy potential. We found that all marine technologies could provide a maximum energy surplus of 57,000 TWh/yr. This figure goes down to ∼5000TWh/yr when excluding offshore wind. The previous figures do not include the contribution from ocean currents, for which no reliable estimates of global potentials and EROIs could be obtained. Due to its high upfront costs and environmental impacts and low social acceptance, no additional tidal range capacity expansion is envisioned. Similarly, the combination of a low sustainable potential and the low EROI makes the large-scale exploitation of salinity gradients unlikely with current technologies. Including all technologies, the average EROI of marine energy is ∼20, but excluding offshore wind reduces the average EROI to ∼8. While we did consider sustainability constraints for some marine energy sources, our estimation of marine net energy potential primarily relied on technical factors and did not account for economic and legal constraints. Therefore, the results presented here should be interpreted as an upper bound for the actual net energy contribution of marine energy sources to the global energy mix.

THE CHANGING PARADIGM OF COHABITATION: INTERPLAY BETWEEN SOCIAL NORMS, EMOTIONAL INTERDEPENDENCE AND SUBJECTIVE WELL BEING

Objectives: The present study attempts to understand how the social norms concerning the idea of cohabitation and different patterns of emotional interdependence affect an individuals subjective well-being in cohabiting relationships. Method: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 6 participants (three males and three females) aged 21-48 (n=6) in a cohabiting relationship for more than eight months and residing in Indian metropolitan cities. A semi-structured interview schedule with twenty-six questions was designed and validated by three experts. Results: A review of audio recordings, transcripts, and process notes revealed thirteen sub-themes listed under six global themes that emerged from the qualitative analysis: Emotional Covariation Interpersonal Emotion Dynamic Societys Standpoint Social Support Individual Perspective, and Well Being. Conclusion: Examining emotional interdependence, social norms, and subjective well-being, we drew attention to several vital factors of interpersonal emotion dynamics and individual versus relational well-being. Participants views about cohabitation were recorded. A low social acceptance of cohabitation led to significant distress and feelings of anxiety, fear, and uncertainty. The role of social support in higher levels of affective well-being is also analyzed.

Prioritization of Waste-to-Energy Technologies Associated with the Utilization of Food Waste

Taking advantage of the growing production of organic waste for its conversion to waste-to-energy (WtE) also contributes to mitigating the problems associated with its final disposal, which is a global trend of increasing application. This work presents an innovative approach for the identification and prioritization of WtE alternatives available from the use of food waste (FW) present in the municipal solid waste (MSW) of a Colombian municipality with source separation and selective collection: (i) a systematic literature review, which allows one to identify WtE alternatives; (ii) the prospective MIC-MAC method (Matrice d’Impacts Croisés Multiplication Appliqués à un Classement) allowed the selection of criteria and sub criteria; (iii) the analytical hierarchical process (AHP) and the technique of order of preference by similarity to the ideal solution (TOPSIS), allowed a ranking of selected alternatives considering the technical, environmental, and social aspects. The WtE technologies identified were anaerobic digestion, gasification, incineration, biogas recovery from landfills, and pyrolysis; this last was excluded due to its greater application potential with substrates such as plastic waste. The six sub-criteria identified and prioritized were social acceptability (36%), greenhouse gas emissions mitigated (16.17%), MSW reduction (15.83%), energy production (13.80%), technological maturity (12.95%), and electrical energy conversion efficiency (5.25%), with the decreasing order of preferences of anaerobic digestion (78.2%), gasification (47.5%), incineration (27.4%), and biogas recovery from landfills (6.6%); the latter was the least desirable alternative (lower social acceptance and CO2 tons mitigated in relation to the other options). The innovative nature of this study is the identification and consideration of the comprehensive management of this type of waste of a large number of criteria (120 environmental, 52 social, and 59 technical) and the validation of the results through a sensitivity analysis, which allowed us to confirm for this study, that anaerobic digestion is the most favorable technology for the treatment and energy use of FW.

Contested net-zero target setting in a transitioning country: The case of South Korea

Many countries have set net-zero targets to achieve the Paris Agreement’s goals. However, we do not know why and how transitioning countries have set net-zero targets, given the narratives of economic growth persistent in them. We address this gap by examining the 2050 carbon neutrality target setting in South Korea and assessing its potential to foster transitioning to a carbon neutral society. We draw from Historical Institutionalism to examine the political process of the carbon neutrality agenda setting and from 20 semi-structured interviews and policy documents as material. We find that net-zero target setting was possible due to strong presidential drive with a turnover in majoritarian politics. However, the agenda setting was controversial with limited public engagement. Although the net-zero target seems radical, the institutions change incrementally due to path-dependency in a developmental state. We demonstrate that South Korea is not likely to transition to a low-carbon society in the foreseeable future as the Paris Agreement demands. The pathway is subject to political swings due to its incumbent political economy and low social acceptance. We suggest caution with net-zero declarations in countries that embrace development as they can amount to mere local political action rather than leading to genuine institutionalization.

Enhanced Esports: Community Perspectives on Performance Enhancers in Competitive Gaming

This work explores perceptions of performance enhancer usage in esports. Specifically, we explored the perception of: food and food supplements; non-medical use of prescription drugs; drugs with some social acceptance (e.g. alcohol, nicotine, cannabis); drugs with lower social acceptance (e.g., psychedelics, opioids); and non-invasive brain stimulation (e.g. transcranial direct current stimulation). A mixed-methods approach was used to triangulate findings around three data sets, including both prompted and unprompted online forum comments, as well as survey data. The studies evidence that players are willing to use or are already using enhancers to increase their in-game performance, and that players are generally concerned about the use of enhancers in professional esports contexts. Furthermore, the community perceives that a substantial number of e-athletes use enhancers. The core contribution of this work is a comprehensive investigation into perspectives of esports performance enhancement, which highlights the urgent need for further research, as well as regulation by esports leagues.

Factors Associated with Initiating Cannabis Use After Legalization in Canada: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Background: Cannabis use has increased since the Government of Canada legalized nonmedical use in October 2018. We investigated demographic factors associated with initiating cannabis use after legalization. Materials and Methods: We used data from the 2018 and 2019 National Cannabis Survey and constructed multivariable regression models. Respondents' data were weighted and bootstrapped. We report relative measures of association as adjusted odds ratios (ORs) and absolute measures of association as adjusted risk increases (RIs). Results: Among the 58,195 households surveyed, 28,566 provided complete data (49%) and our weighted analysis represented 27,904,258 Canadians aged ≥ 15 years. Approximately one in five Canadians endorsed use of cannabis (19.8%), predominantly for nonmedical (9.5%) or combined medical and nonmedical (5.8%) reasons. Those who initiated cannabis use in the past 3 months (1.9%) were more likely to be younger (25-34 years vs. ≥ 65 years; adjusted OR 1.7, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.1-2.8; adjusted RI 1.1%, 95% CI 0.1-2.0%), endorse poor to fair versus good to excellent physical health (adjusted OR 2.0, 95% CI 1.3-3.1; adjusted RI 1.7%, 95% CI 0.3-3.1%), and reside outside of Quebec (adjusted OR 1.4, 95% CI 1.1-2.0; adjusted RI 0.1%, 95% CI 0.6-1.1%). The 1% of Canadians who endorsed initiating use of cannabis due to legalization were more likely to reside outside of Quebec (adjusted OR 1.9, 95% CI 1.1-3.2; adjusted RI 0.5%, 95% CI 0.2-0.9%). Conclusion: Canadians initiating cannabis use after nonmedical legalization were likely to be younger and endorse worse physical health, and half of those using cannabis reported therapeutic use. Stricter policies, lower social acceptance, and less availability of cannabis in Quebec appear to have curtailed initiation of use after legalization.

Concomitant Impediments to the Social Acceptance of Sandbag Technology for Sustainable and Affordable Housing Delivery: The Case of South Africa

There is a high level of homelessness in South Africa. Sandbag building technologies (SBTs) have been offered as economical and sustainable alternative building materials capable of speeding housing provision in South Africa. However, their degree of adoption in South Africa remains relatively low. Furthermore, limited research has examined the low adoption and social acceptance of SBTs, requiring thorough research. Therefore, this research investigates the key social barriers to accepting SBTs in housing provision. The study adopted a mixed method research approach that employs a comprehensive literature review in identifying 18 social barriers to using SBTs and a questionnaire survey of 228 building experts based in South Africa to obtain empirical data. The study findings indicated that the significant impediments were related to the lack of understanding of the benefits of sandbags, a lack of sandbag courses and training, and a lack of professional knowledge and skills, among others. A comparative analysis of the perceptions of the diverse categories of survey participants was conducted and discussed. This study’s evaluation of significant barriers offers government agencies and construction partners a framework to make realistic and well-informed decisions toward more sustainable and affordable housing delivery.

Implementation strategies in creating social acceptance for slow learners children in included schools

The purpose of this study was to identify the social acceptance of slow learners from the perspective of guidance and counseling teachers and the strategies used in inclusive schools. This research is a qualitative research with case study method which was conducted in 4 inclusive junior high schools in western Indonesia (Java). Empirical data were collected from August to November 2021 through several semi-structured interviews. using data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The low social acceptance of slow learners in inclusive schools causes feelings of discomfort, pressure and is not sure that they are accepted by the environment so they do not want to be involved and hang out with friends. Based on the problems experienced, it requires the help of guidance and counseling teachers in schools. The strategy given by the guidance and counseling teacher to increase the social acceptance of slow learners is by conducting observations, interviews, diagnostic tests to explore the potential of slow learners, and documentation to detect problems that occur.

Attitudes, Social Acceptance, and Rejection towards Refugee Students: The Case of Düzce Province, Turkey

The purpose of this study is to examine the attitudes, social acceptance, and rejection levels of students towards refugee students studying at different education levels. The research was carried out in descriptive research design. It was determined that the students were not accepted by their peers, and as the education level increased, the social acceptance scores of the refugee students decreased and the social rejection scores increased. It was determined that refugee students were accepted mostly by primary school students, followed by secondary school and least high school students. It has been determined that especially high school students have lower social acceptance towards refugee students and higher rejection scores. It has been determined that there was a significant relationships relationship between students' social acceptance and rejection scores and their academic achievement and attitude scores.

Modelling a highly decarbonised North Sea energy system in 2050: A multinational approach

The North Sea region, located in the Northwest of Europe, is expected to be a frontrunner in the European energy transition. This paper aims to analyse different optimal system configurations in order to meet net-zero emission targets in 2050. Overall, the paper presents two main contributions: first, we develop and introduce the IESA-NS model. The IESA-NS model is an optimization integrated energy system model written as a linear problem. The IESA-NS model optimizes the long-term investment planning and short-term operation of seven North Sea region countries (Belgium, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom). The model can optimize multiple years simultaneously, accounts for all the national GHG emissions and includes a thorough representation of all the sectors of the energy system. Second, we run several decarbonisation scenarios with net-zero emission targets in 2050. Relevant parameters varied to produce the scenarios include biomass availability, VRE potentials, low social acceptance of onshore VRE, ban of CCUS or mitigation targets in international transport and industry feedstock. Results show a large use of hydrogen when international transport emissions are considered in the targets (5.6 EJ to 7.3 EJ). Electrolysis is the preferred pathway for hydrogen production (up to 6.4 EJ), far ahead of natural gas reforming (up to 2.2 EJ). Allowing offshore interconnectors (e.g. meshed offshore grid between the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom) permits to integrate larger amounts of offshore wind (122 GW to 191 GW of additional capacity compared to reference scenarios), while substantially increasing the cross-border interconnection capacities (up to 120 GW). All the biomass available is used in the scenarios across multiple end uses, including biofuel production (up to 3.5 EJ), high temperature heat (up to 2.5 EJ), feedstock for industry (up to 2 EJ), residential heat (up to 600 PJ) and power generation (up to 900 PJ). In general, most of the results justify the development of multinational energy system models, in which the spatial coverage lays between national and continental models.

Low social acceptance among peers increases the risk of persistent musculoskeletal pain in adolescents. Prospective data from the Fit Futures Study

BackgroundMusculoskeletal pain has a high prevalence in adolescence and causes huge consequences for the individuals and the society. Little knowledge exists on social risk factors for musculoskeletal pain in adolescents. This study aimed to investigate if low social acceptance among peers during the first year of upper secondary school was associated with persistent and severe persistent musculoskeletal pain 2 years later and if psychological distress modified this association.MethodsLongitudinal data from the Norwegian Fit Futures Study was used. Students in the first year of upper secondary school answered an electronic questionnaire, covering health status, pain, social acceptance among peers, and psychological distress. Persistent musculoskeletal pain was measured 2 years later. Multiple logistic regression analyses and moderation analyses were conducted adjusting for sex and chronic diseases. Main analyses were conducted on participants without persistent musculoskeletal pain at baseline, and secondary analyses were conducted on all participants with and without persistent musculoskeletal pain at baseline.ResultsOf 775 participants (52% females), 556 (71.7%) were pain-free at baseline and included in the main analyses. Significant associations between low social acceptance among peers and persistent musculoskeletal pain 2 years later were found in crude (Odds ratio (OR) = 1.8, 95%CI [1.0–3.1]) and adjusted analyses (OR = 1.8, 95%CI [1.0–3.2]). No statistically significant effect modification of psychological distress (p = 0.89) on this association was found. A significant association between low social acceptance and persistent musculoskeletal pain was found in adjusted secondary analyses of all the students (n = 692) (OR = 1.6, 95%CI [1.0–2.3]).ConclusionsOur results indicate that low social acceptance among peers increases the risk of future persistent musculoskeletal pain in adolescents. Thus, interventions strengthening adolescent’s social arenas may be helpful to prevent persistent musculoskeletal pain.Trial registrationRetrospective registered at clinicaltrials.org NCT04526522.
