The results of observations made in Kampung Selang Tengah RT002/RW002, Wanasari sub-district, Cibitung sub-district, it turns out that there are still many teenagers, most of whom fall into the category of unemployed. This happened because at the time of this pandemic the economic sector experienced a very severe downturn, even a lot of workers were forced to be temporarily laid off or even laid off because conditions did not allow this, which in turn worsened the economic situation for the lower middle class. At times like this motivate entrepreneurship for unemployed youth, what can be done. By holding the training, it is hoped that it can motivate them to start entrepreneurship with training on making cireng content which was attended by 6 participants and bookkeeping methods through an application on a cellphone which was attended by 20 participants. Starting entrepreneurship can be a way out to earn income and can be a good impact for unemployed people starting entrepreneurship. The post test results of small businesses after doing this training showed good feedback or a very good response.

Implementation Of Construction Safety Management System on The Building Project of Haji Hospital Of Surabaya

Safety and accidents at work are the most serious thing to note, on building projects stroke center at Haji Hospital of Surabaya is still a lot of workers are less aware and less understanding about the safety and accidents caused due to neglect of the problem of workplace accidents. It is necessary to analyze the implementation of safety management system construction as well as the influence of the cost of the implementation of the project. This research method uses quantitative description based on the analysis about the application of the safety management system of construction on building projects stroke center Haji Hospital Surabaya, data collection through questionnaires (primary) which is distributed to 30 respondents consisting of the executive team (contractor), supervisory (MK) project and also some of the foreman of the workers, and observation and also documentation, where data is the results of the questionnaire were analyzed using the software IBM SPSS version 25, looking for the results of the multiple linear regression, T-test, an F-test. The results of linear regression analysis, T-test and F test obtained the value of T count > T table where X1 = 3,071, X2 = 5,5658, X6 = 3,006 and X7 = 3,560 and F count= 54,308 > F table = 2,46, the meaning that the variable of X1, X2, X6 and X7 are significant to application of safety management of the construction with the cost of implementation of construction projects

Implicações da Farmacoterapia anti-hiperglicémica na Avaliação da Aptidão em Trabalhadores com Diabetes Mellitus

Introduction/Framework Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease resulting from deficient secretion and/or peripheral insulin action, causing hyperglycemia, with multiple organ damage. The worldwide Diabetes mellitus incidence has increased in recent decades, with an estimated worldwide prevalence close to 415 million adults. In this context, a lot of workers with this disease will be accessed through medical examination to evaluate fitness for work, so it is essential that the Occupational Physician remains updated about the clinic and the available pharmacological options to deliberate on aptitude, restrictions and recommendations for a specific job/task. Methodology It’s a narrative review of the available evidence from the PubMed database, complemented by the national and international guidelines and the Portuguese law. Contents/Discussion DM complications can affect the ability to work and should motivate periodic evaluation by the Occupational Physician. Some chronic complications are evident in their likelihood of disability, such as retinopathy or neuro-ischemic disease, which often motivate work restrictions. On the other hand, acute complications, although often mild and self-limited, can put the worker at serious risk of an occupational accident. Severe hypoglycemia, with neuroglycopenic symptoms, is the most obvious example. The pharmacotherapy itself can cause hypoglycemic episodes or other symptoms that put the safety of the worker and even others at risk. Workers with DM who work at heights, who handle dangerous equipment or who drive professionally, must be carefully evaluated by the Occupational Physician. Although most will not have work restrictions, it may be necessary to adapt the workplace or limit certain tasks to achieve adequate glycemic control, a determining factor for preventing complications. Recommendations for workers with diabetes include breaks for glycaemic control, food ingestion and/or therapeutic administration, appropriate choice of protective equipment and, eventually, restriction of night shifts or some tasks with high metabolic expenditure. Those recommendations depend on the awareness of hypoglycaemea, the pharmacotherapy used to control diabetes and the complications of the disease. Conclusion Occupational Physician needs to be updated about Diabetes Mellitus management tools, pharmacotherapy, with particular attention to eventual side effects, to control and prevent professional risks arising from poor control. The socio-economic impact of COVID-19 on the petroleum sector in Egypt: a descriptive analysis

PurposeThis study explored the impact of COVID-19 on the petroleum sector in Egypt, both economically and socially. Of all sectors of the economy, the oil industry has been one of the most negatively impacted by the pandemic, with oil prices plummeting at the start of the pandemic. Use to decrease demand. This paper aimed to analyse the main economic and social effects of the pandemic on the Egypt oil industry through an examination of the macroeconomic data reflected in the Egyptian balance of payments, the country's general budget and the oil industry's performance data. The study also conducted a survey of a set of workers from the Egyptian petroleum sector. The study thus concluded two levels of analysis; a macrolevel and a micro level analysis of the effect of COVID-19 on the Egyptian oil industry.Design/methodology/approachThe paper builds upon the experience gained from evaluating market change caused by COVID-19 (Agosta et al., 2020), to analyse the socioeconomic implications of COVID-19 on the Egyptian oil industry. This study employed a survey analysis of questionnaires filled by on a sample of workers in the petroleum sector in Egypt. Data were analysed using the SPSS software, version 18.0. Descriptive analysis was reported as frequencies and percentages. The macroeconomic impact analysis was done by analysing macro-economic data pertaining the oil industry's levels of production as well as the data pertaining to Egypt's external balance of payment and public finance.FindingsThe paper concludes that although the COVID-19 pandemic had negatively impacted the socioeconomics of oil sector workers, reducing their incomes and costing them jobs, these effects appeared to be short term effects that could be minimised with the end of the pandemic and be mitigated through the adequate social and economic policies. No permanent socioeconomic losses were thus deemed to be a serious concern with respect to these workers. The study also concluded that, macroeconomically, lower global oil prices has had a net positive effect on the Egyptian economy as the causing an expected shrinkage of the overall trade deficit. It also has reduced the national budget deficit and has helped mobilise money into the economy, financing both investments and social expenses.Research limitations/implicationsThe survey was very hard to reach, where lot of workers in the petroleum sector (governmental) refused to answer the questions.Practical implicationsSome African countries may not have all the necessary most recent data of economic indicators needed to ascertain with certainty the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. And, at the event that data are completely available, analysts must consider that any worsening of the economy may not stem directly from the pandemic itself. Causality has to be clearly established. The survey therefore focused on the attitudes and perceptions of oil sector workers, irrespective of whether a given indicator had been affected by the pandemic or is seen likely to be affected by it in the future. All those responding have reported the belief that economic indicators, such as GDP growth, inflation and trade had been impacted negatively by the spread of COVID-19. They also believed the effects of the pandemic on transport to have had direct effects on the oil industry.Social implicationsThe social impact of the pandemic was less apparent, particularly among governmental sector workers compared with those in the private sector. However, freelancers have reported some issues that may be become more apparent through aggregated data.Originality/valueThis study has presented some preliminary estimates of the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on petroleum sector in Egypt. The goal was not to be definitive about the virus outbreak, but rather to provide information about a range of possible economic costs of the disease. While, a detailed quantification of the socioeconomic impact of the coronavirus pandemic may not be feasible, it is still useful to identify possible transmission channels through which the pandemic may affect the Egypt economy and society. It is also useful to identify key issues that are likely shape short- and medium-term socioeconomic prospects in Egypt as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in Egypt.

The world moves and advances very quickly. Production systems and jobs evolve with the world. Occupational risks change as jobs change: The occupational risks of jobs we found two hundred years ago are different from the risks inherent to today’s jobs. The influence of technology is evident in many of today’s companies and, as a consequence, in the work that takes place in them. The recent COVID-19 pandemic, which has so upset the world, has made possible the acceleration in the massive use of certain communication tools that has been linked to the home confinement of a significant part of the population. Lots of workers and companies have been forced to telecommute. In a lot of countries, legislation and regulations were not prepared for these new ways of working: the laws have had to adapt to this new operation. In this area techno-stress has emerged, a new variety of stress derived from the use of new technologies at work, with the consequent negative psychosocial effects for the worker and the people around him, which can, at the same time, be the prelude to many others pathological processes of various nature.

Design the semi-automation shrimps tempura frying production line

Currently, Tempura shrimp consumption is very high in most Japanese restaurants all over the world. There are many companies that produce Tempura shrimp to provide for many restaurants as well as to sell in many supermarkets in many countries. In fact, the benefits of this product are enormous for the seafood industry in Vietnam as well as in other countries. However, most of the companies that produce the Tempura shrimps manually by workers. There are a lot of workers who fry shrimp manually to keep the company productive. The quality of this product also bases on the skill of the workers. And, to satisfy the condition of mass production, the enterprise also needs the very large area to set up the workplace for the workers. Secondly, this situation leads to the practical results that the quality of Tempura shrimp is not identical, unstable and the amount of waste is very high. Therefor, the requirement for the application of automatic control system in this tempura field can help the company to solve these difficult problems. This issue is the primary focus of this document. It is the situation of the Tempura fried shrimp companies which lead them to implement automated systems to replace unskilled workers. This paper presents the design of the whole semi automation single-side Tempura shrimp frying production line to propose some innovation about the shrimp tempura frying process. The entire Tempura semi automation production line consists of 3 main modules. Each module can operate as an independent machine. The workers just put the coated shrimp in the molds and then the frying process will perform the remaining steps automatically. The first module (Module 1) is the shaping module or the first time frying module. The powder solution also installed with this module. The second module (Module 2) is the finished frying module. Finally, the oil drainning module (Module 3) using the technique of the hot heating airflow system to drain the excess oil inside the Tempura shrimps.

Inclusive growth in the fastest-growing Asian countries

The paper discusses the extent of inclusiveness of economic growth in the ten fastest-growing Asian countries between 2001 and 2019. It focuses on essential aspects of inclusiveness i.e. on poverty and inequality reduction and development of employment opportunities for poor people. The study is based on the data retrieved from the ILOSTAT and World Bank Database. In the twenty-first century, the fastest growing countries in Asia have significantly reduced poverty. However, the benefits of rapid economic growth in these countries have not been spread evenly. Income inequality has been steadily increasing in some Asian societies. Besides, economic growth in the fastest-growing countries in Asia has not been always accompanied by an increase in employment opportunities. Although unemployment is not a problem for the large part of the population in Asian countries, a lot of workers are still in extreme or moderate working poverty. Reasons behind the working poor in the fastest-growing Asian countries vary slightly from country to country but the most important are: jobless growth, high vulnerable employment in agriculture and a large part of the non-agricultural labour force working in the informal sector.

The need for understanding the existence of Industrial Relations Dispute Resolution (PPHI) based on Law Number 2 of 2004 concerning PPHI is very urgent in the company. There are a lot of workers and company personnel who do not / do not know about the existence of this regulation, if there are problems in the industrial field, the workers do not know the existing regulations, including understanding so that no disputes occur The solutions offered by the team are lectures, dialogues and discussions to solve the problems faced. The work procedures to support the methods offered are lectures held 1 (one) hour, and dialogues and discussions for 2 hours or according to the needs of partners as long as they are within the period of implementation of this program. The participation of partners in the community service program is to provide the place and time for program implementation and to present partner members as audiences. The output that will be produced according to the plan of community service activities is: for partners, of course, increased understanding of the Industrial Relations Dispute Settlement (PPHI) based on Law Number 2 of 2004 concerning PPHI. For the outcome proposals to be achieved are scientific articles and cannot be separated from the Tri Darma of Higher Education

HOW JOBS IN AGRICULTURE AND HANDICRAFT HAVE OPPORTUNITIES IN TOURISM DEVELOPMENT

This paper aims to describe a tourism industry which needs a variety of tourism products with an implication on the emergence of various forms of business opportunities with large, medium and small scales. The presence of a variety of tourists’ needs have caused a variety of tourism products too. Agriculture, animal husbandry, and handicraft which are needed by tourists are sectors which need a lot of workers as producers, distributors and sellers. In the study reported in the present paper is shown that the agricultural products of Bali cannot only be used as agro-tourism, but whose products can also be processed to become a variety of handicrafts. Similarly, animal husbandry which Balinese community people have focused on produces products that can be offered in a culinary tourism in which they are processed by using Balinese ingredients and offered in an appropriate wrapping which suits the market needs, while the specificity of Balinese culture has been able to produce a variety of forms of handicrafts the local and foreign tourists love. Through developments in the three sectors above, if the people can focus their attention on them and if the government can accommodate it that will be able to be used as an alternative solution to the national economy. Although in their actions they can only serve as sellers, as what has been the focus of street vendors, they actually act as safety valve of the government in overcoming unemployment problems and economic problems for themselves and their families. For this reason, it is expected that the government gives them a more conducive condition for the improvement of economy to be made starting from the family level, as part of the state of Indonesia.

Wage Determination in Different Economic Periods and Wage – Related Industrial Unrest in the Public Service in Nigeria.

This paper examined the influence of wage determination in different economic periods (boom or recession) on the frequency of industrial unrest in the public service in Nigeria. This work is prompted by the fact that the state of the economy of any nation has a way of influencing the frequency and intensity of wage-related industrial unrest in the public service. During boom periods the government is expected to be a lot more magnanimous with meeting the demands of workers and general improvements in their work conditions and as a result wage-related industrial unrest is expected to be on the increase. During periods of economic recession or austerity on the other hand, workers are expected to exercise some level of restraint with regards to wage demands knowing fully well that the money is not there. Unfortunately, in the Nigeria situation that is not always the case, even when it is clear that the funds are available, Government continues to claim that there are no funds. This explains why during periods of economic boom and recession, workers’ demands for wage increases do not abate in any way because the Government can never be trusted. When the economy was vibrant the Government did not do much to better the lots of workers, so for the workers it does not matter whether the economy is in recession or not, their demands will have to be met by Government. This paper therefore contends that government should always endeavour to do the needful in terms of improving the lots of workers when the resources are available so that when there is economic problem the workers will understand.

PEMBERIAN UPAH PEKERJA DITINJAU DARI UPAH MINIMUM KABUPATEN DAN HUKUM EKONOMI ISLAM

Waging system becomes a complex problem between the employers and the workers whose bargaining position is always weak. To protect the workers’ rights, the government has set up the regional minimum wage. As a matter of fact, this regulation has not been well implemented since there are a lot of workers who are paid under the standard. This study is intended to investigate the waging system of home industries at Tanjungsari Village. This study constitutes a case study which employs descriptive qualitative approach. The data are collected through deep interview and field observation and documentation. The data are analyzed using descriptive qualitative method. This study reveals that (1) there are two kinds of waging system: daily and contract, (2) the wage for the skillful workers has meet the waging standard, but the wage for the unskillful workers is still under the standard, and (3) the waging system, in some cases, has not meet the Islamic waging standard in which the wage is given based on fairness, appropriateness, mutual benefit, and on time. Twenty-seven years ago, at the age of 11, Nazma Akter entered a Bangladeshi garment factory for the first time, laboring beside her mother. Seven years later, frustrated by the deep politicization of the existing unions—their close ties with factory owners, corrupt bureaucrats, and politicians—she formed her own union, the Sommilito Garments Sramik Federation, to defend the interests of tens of thousands of Bangladeshis, primarily women garment workers. Lured from the countryside with promises of a better life, too many find themselves in ill-managed and poorly built factories where catastrophes can strike at anytime. Today, Akter is at the front lines of the battle that has enmeshed global brands, crumbling factories, workers, and consumers. Not long after the tragic collapse of the Rana Plaza complex in April where more than 1,100 workers lost their lives, she spoke from Dhaka with World Policy Journal editor David A. Andelman, managing editor Christopher Shay, and contributing writer Edward Bearnot.Because of low wages, their living conditions are very poor. They must take responsibility when these kinds of things happen, because if they wanted to avoid or leave this country, it’s not fair. We will not accept this. They should come to us and work together to improve working conditions and not kill the workers.

Monetization of Workers Fringe Benefits: The Journey so far in Nigeria Federal Civil Service

This study appraises the monetization of workers fringe benefit in Nigeria’s federal Civil Service with a view to identifying the problem areas. Data collected through questionnaire were analyzed using Chi-square. The findings revealed that the monetization policy has reduced the running cost of federal government of Nigeria, somehow bettered the lots of workers, greatly favored the ruling elites, and generated some unintended consequences due to the reversal of some aspects during implementation. However, in order to ensure equity in the distribution of benefits of the policy, it is recommended that payment of housing and furniture allowances should be en bloc and direct method to be adopted in the implementation to curb reversal of the contents of the policy. More so, state and local governments in Nigeria and under-developed and developing countries are to adopt the policy to their civil service for efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Stature Estimation Formulae for Nigerians

In stature estimation, long limbs and the stature formula of Trotter and Gleser easily come to mind. In the recent past, a lot of workers have established formulae specific to their populations using whole length of limbs, fragmented bones, circumference of long bones, and even length of the vertebrae. We have in this work used tibia length, height of subjects, and the regression models to establish formulae specific to Nigerians. We measured height and tibia length of 200 (96 male and 104 female) adult Nigerians. The tibia length was measured from upper limit of the medial condoyle to the tip of medial malleolus using a measuring tape calibrated in meters while the height of individuals were also measured using meter scales. All measurements were made by one person, to avoid interobserver error, and repeatedly until a constant value is obtained. We obtained general formulae for males and females which compares favorably with that of Duyar and Pelin, and can be relied upon.
