Designing An Illustrated Book as An Educational Media Regarding Traditional Lampung Cakes to Increase Children's Interest in Local Products

Lampung Province has a variety of traditional cakes, such as Selimpok, Sekubal, Engkak, Bangkit, Lapis Legit, Bebai Maghing and many others. However, some people prefer modern food such as bread in bakeries which are starting to emerge which are very popular with today's young generation, especially children, because of lifestyle factors. From data from interviews and questionnaires on children aged 6-12 years, they do not clearly understand the origins of regional cakes, the names of some regional cakes, and some have never tasted these regional cakes. Therefore, a media was designed in the form of a book illustrating Typical Lampung Traditional Cakes as a learning medium for children aged 6-12 years based on illustration work for education related to these traditional cakes, because children tend to like lots of pictures that add fun information, are easy to understand, and have interactive designs for children.

In classroom teaching, especially in the medical field, it has made the teaching-learning method very effective. Medical teaching evolves quite rapidly, and the same set of slides becomes outdated very frequently. PowerPoint presentation (PPT) are easily editable and hence save a lot of time while updating. Furthermore, medical teaching (any subject) has a lot of pictures and videos in teaching. These can be quite easily and effectively used in PPT, which is not possible in Chalk and Board. In our view, a PPT should have at most 15 – 20 slides for a 1-h lecture. This will allow more time in discussion and less time in slide reads.

Our tests showed that our system is great at finding fakes In the end, our idea helps make sure pictures online are real, which is super important in today’s world of digital pictures.

Development of Learning Media Using Canva in Class XI Science at MAN 2 Bukittinggi

Media is a very important element in learning. The use of teaching materials in learning is increasing along with technological developments, such as applications and software that allow teachers to create attractive classrooms and increase student interest in learning. The application chosen to be used to create interesting and simple learning materials is Canva. These applications meet various needs in the fields of graphics, business, advertising, technology, management, and education. In subjects such as biology where there are lots of pictures and explanations about human organs, the use of interesting learning media is very important. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to create biology learning media using Canva for class XI IPA students at MAN 2 Bukittinggi. This study uses the research and development (RnD) method with the Luther-Sutopo development model. The results showed that the average test value for the validity of the biology learning environment developed using Canva for class XI IPA MAN 2 Bukittinggi was 0.82 which indicated that this media was very valid. In addition, this media was found to be very practical with an average practicality test value of 0.90, and efficient with an average efficiency test value of 0.90. Based on the results of testing these educational media products, it can be concluded that the use of Canva can help the learning process and is beneficial for teachers and students.

Investigation of Optimal Image Inpainting Techniques for Image Reconstruction and Image Restoration Applications

People in today's society take a lot of pictures with their smartphones and also make an effort to keep their old photographs safe, but with time, those photographs deteriorate. Image inpainting is the art of reconstructing damaged or missing parts of an image. Repairing scratches in photographs or film negatives, or adding or removing elements like stamped dates or "red-eye," are all possible through inpainting. In order to restore the image many techniques have been developed, significant techniques include exemplar based inpainting, coherent based inpainting and method for correction of non-uniform illumination. The four main applications of these image inpainting techniques are scratch removal, text removal, object removal and image restoration. However, all the four image inpainting applications cannot be implemented using a single technique. According to the literature, there has been relatively less work done in the field of image inpainting applications. Investigation has been carried out to find the suitability of these three techniques for the four above mentioned image inpainting applications based on two performance metrics.

The application of media in the learning process is very enjoyable so as to create an effective and efficient learning atmosphere. This is the background of the research on the implementation of Digital-Based Comic Media which was carried out at SMK Negeri 1 Gunung Talang. Comic media is a fun reading material because it has lots of pictures and is explained with various characters of someone who participates in acting out the story. The research objectives include knowing the planning and implementation of digital-based comic media in history learning. Preparation of research using qualitative research methods with a qualitative descriptive approach. The type of research used is field research to look specifically at data about the Implementation of History Learning Using Digital-Based Comic Media. The informants in this study were school principals, history teachers, and students at SMK Negeri 1 Gunung Talang. From the results of research in the field, it can be obtained the results of the research that in the process of implementing digital-based comic media learning, it has been carried out starting from the lesson plans prepared by the teacher such as learning devices and learning materials and media. The implementation of history learning using digital-based comic media can run well, but there are some problems such as the lack of facilities and infrastructure, the duration of time is too short, the media used is still simple.

LEARNING STYLES OF BIOLOGY STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITAS NEGERI PADANG

Learning style is a way to act and use stimuli in learning. When the lecturer wants to teach a learning material, the lecturer teaches according to the tendencies of student learning styles, because in general students have different learning styles. The learning style carried out by a student varies from one to another depending on the habits that are often carried out. There are three learning styles of a person, namely visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. Knowing the learning styles that students have can create a pleasant learning atmosphere for students, generate motivation to learn, and reduce conflicts that arise as a result of learning. This study aims to identify the learning styles of first-year students at the Biology Department, FMIPA, Universitas Negeri Padang. This research is a descriptive study using an instrument in the form of a learning style questionnaire. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics. The results of the study found that the first year students of the Biology Department, FMIPA, Universitas Negeri Padang had a dominant visual learning style then auditory, and finally kinesthetic. This can happen because basically these students like learning in which the material is presented using lots of pictures, videos, schemes, or diagrams. With the dominance of visual learning styles in the first year students of the Biology Department, it is hoped that lecturers can wisely choose appropriate learning to facilitate student learning styles by choosing strategies, methods, models, approaches, and learning media that are suitable and suitable regardless of the learning style used. owned by other students who are dominantly auditory and kinesthetic.

Growing early childhood knowledge about the corona virus can be done through interesting media or teaching materials such as pictures, videos or books. Usually children will be more interested in teaching materials that have lots of pictures and are full of color. This study aims to develop Children's Worksheets as teaching materials to grow knowledge about the corona virus. The research method used in this study is a type of R&D (Research and Development) research based on the Borg and Gall model procedure that has been modified by Sugiyono, but the researcher only uses 7 steps out of 10 existing steps. The subjects of this study were early childhood in group B at PAUD Taman Sari Palembang. Collecting data using observation (initial observations), questionnaire sheets and documentation. This study uses qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results showed that the development of children's worksheets to grow knowledge about the corona virus had met the valid and appropriate criteria for use in early childhood.

Development of pocketbook based on higher order thinking skills of heat and transfer material for fifth grade students

This study aims to assist students in understanding learning materials in science subjects by developing a pocketbook. A pocketbook is a small book that can be stored in a pocket and easy to carry everywhere. This practicality can help students to gain knowledge anywhere and anytime by using a pocketbook. So, the need for innovation and habituation, the researchers develop practical teaching materials that students can learn anywhere and adapting to the demands of the times, namely pocketbook based on high order thinking skills (HOTS) of heat and transfer materials for fifth graders of elementary school. It is expected that students will be able to develop creative thinking skills, high-level thinking and be able to solve problems in their daily lives by using students' thinking skills. The display of colorful pocketbooks, lots of pictures, unique layouts, and clear language makes students have new learning experiences without losing the essence/meaning of the material. The development model used is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). Data collection techniques, using product validation questionnaires by educational technology, material experts, and linguist experts, teacher response questionnaires and student response questionnaires. The results obtained from the development of HOTS-based pocketbook teaching materials are very valid. Besides, the teacher and students have positive response toward the developed pocketbook. This research is expected to help teachers in developing students' high-level and creative thinking skills, as well as being a reference in developing HOTS-based pocketbooks in the future.

Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Comic Book IPA untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis dan Karakter Peduli Lingkungan

This research is motivated by the low critical thinking skills and environmental care character of students, one of which is the lack of supporting media for interesting learning textbooks with lots of pictures and content that can make it easier for students to understand the material. This study aims to examine and develop a valid, practical and effective science comic book media to improve critical thinking skills and students' environmental care character. This study uses research and development methods, which means that research aims to produce certain products that can be used in the learning process, in the form of science comic book media. The sources of this research are students, teachers, and experts. The data in this study were obtained through data on the needs of students and teachers, which were obtained through a need’s questionnaire; IPA comic book media assessment data, which was obtained through a science comic book media readability questionnaire; and media application data obtained through test instruments, journals, and observation sheets. The data analysis technique used was the research prerequisite test including the normality test, as well as the media effectiveness test including the paired t test and the N-Gain test.The results showed that, (1) the assessment of 1 media expert validator and 2 material expert validators obtained an average percentage score of 95% and 92% with a very valid category; (2) the results of the media practicality test based on the teacher's response obtained an average percentage score of 96% in the very practical category, and based on the student's response the average percentage score was 95% in the very practical category; (3) The results of the T test on the pre-test and post-test of critical thinking skills obtained a Sig score. (2-tailed) of 0.002, while the results of the T-test on the pre-test and post-test of environmental care characters obtained a Sig score. (2-tailed) of 0.000 (4) the results of the N-Gain pre-test and post-test critical thinking skills obtained a score of 0.63 in the "moderate" category, while the environmental care character obtained a score of 0.42 with the category "currently".

One trip was to British educational training and technology exhibition Bett-2019, the other – to Reggio Emilia, where everyone was introduced to the unique Loris Malaguzzi education method. Holding an opinion “unique is what is simple”, it was decided to use proper objects for education right here, in the kindergarten / primary school yard and to generate the ideas how to use them for education. The research object is a pine-tree and a fir-tree as a teaching/learning device in the kindergarten and in the primary school: what, how and why. The aims: 1) to look through the preschool age children achievement description (2014) and a standardised world cognition programme (2015) in order one could tell, what achievements the children could develop if they explored a pine-tree and a fir-tree, growing in the kindergarten / primary school yard; 2) to provide childhood teachers with the knowledge about the mentioned trees and to share the ideas, how one could use a pine tree and a fir tree for children education in childhood, what activities, what spheres or school subjects to integrate. A reusable image processing hardware acceleration framework for power line inspection, the framework uses the H.265 decoding module to realize high speed capture video frames, using PCI-E data communication to achieve a high throughput of network transmission, using FPGA to achieve the SIFT algorithm, and make the corresponding simplification. The test results show that the framework can significantly improve the speed of image processing, and can support the rapid panoramic image generation in the field work, and support the intelligent analysis of the image at the center of the data center.
