By terms «protracted subfebrilitet» and «fever of unknown genesis lasted» (FUGL) mark situations which quite often arise up in clinical practice, at which a fervescence is the basic or unique sign of different diseases the diagnosis of which remains unknown after a leadthrough ordinary, and in a number of cases and additional inspection. The spectrum of diseases which are underlaid protracted subfebrilitet and FUGL is wide enough and includes different illnesses of infectious nature, malignant tumours, system vasculitis, and also other various after the origin diseases. Protracted fever ordinary diseases are underlaid with unusual motion. Diagnostic search under these conditions requires identification of additional clinical and laboratory features, which determine the features of a focused examination of patients using the most informative for a concrete situation diagnostic methods. Question about the advisability of treatment, including testing, to decrypt of protracted subfebrilitet and FUGL must decide individually, depending on the specific clinical situation.
