Ризики безпекового управління суб’єктів логістичного діяльності у фокусі сучасних викликів: практичний інструментарій

In today’s conditions of operation of subjects of logistics activity without risk – there is no such thing. It should be noted that the risk must be calculated to the maximum permissible limit. From a practical point of view, market assessments of risk are varied. Yes, it is essential for business entities not to be afraid of any mistakes in their market activity since no one is immune from them, and most importantly, it is necessary to constantly adjust the system of actions from the standpoint of improving the logistics system. The article examines the risks of security management of logistics entities. It was noted that the main functions of risk are innovative, regulatory, protective, compensatory, socio-economic, and analytical. It has been proven that indicators for quantitatively assessing risks in the security system at logistics entities cover absolute values (dispersion, root mean square deviation, semi-variation, semi-quadratic deviation) and relative values (probability, coefficient of variation, risk coefficient). The main methods of regulating the degree of risk of logistics activity subjects are highlighted: risk avoidance, risk compensation, prognostication, monitoring, risk retention, creation of special reserve funds, involvement of external sources, transfer of risk, hedging, and risk reduction. Based on this, it has been proven that the goal of reducing the risks in security management of logistics entities can be considered a comprehensive countermeasure against potential and real threats, as well as ensuring a high development potential of the studied structures. It should be noted that the goal of reducing the risks of security management of logistics entities can be considered comprehensive countermeasures against potential and actual threats, the elimination and minimization of which guarantee the business entity stable and maximally effective functioning in the changing conditions of the external and internal environments at the current moment in time, and as well as ensuring the high potential of development of the subjects of logistics activity in the future. The Constraints of Narrow Channels: Implications for Multimodal Logistics

Narrow passages, whether man made, place limitations, on the efficiency of multimodal logistics activities by affecting factors like ship size, cargo capacity, speed of transit and operational effectiveness. This paper delves into the impact of these constraints on logistics and supply chain management emphasizing the importance of developing approaches to overcome these obstacles. Key areas of study include how ships behave in waterways, scheduling and simulating traffic flow establishing passing protocols and reducing risks related to grounding incidents. The study also explores how technological advancements like ships and sophisticated navigation systems can improve safety and operational efficiency. Furthermore, it examines the benefits of integrating water routes into the broader supply chain network to enhance logistics performance and sustainability. Ultimately this research aims to offer insights for optimizing logistics operations in channels with a focus, on enhancing strategies and reducing transit times.

Comparative Analysis of Structure and Motion of Vision Logistics Robotic Arms

This paper combines visual recognition and robotic arm, optimizes the design of robotic arm structure, and researches the logistics robotic arm with six degrees of freedom and visual perception ability to enrich the logistics robotic use scene. Firstly, the visual recognition system is installed on the existing six-degree-of-freedom robotic arm, and the coordinate system is established by the light bar recognition method combined with the D-H parameter method. Secondly, a kinematic simulation model was established by using MATLAB, and the state of the joints was analyzed by using forward and inverse kinematic simulation and fifth degree polynomial interpolation. Finally, the actual logistics fixed-point transportation task is designed for trajectory planning. The results show that the robotic arm is able to be able to perform different grasping tasks in non-structural environments, around the visual analysis of the robotic arm as well as the optimization of the motion track, to enhance the efficiency of the comprehensive use of visual and tactile information, to improve the adaptability of the robotic hand grasping, and to be able to meet the precise control of the pick-up process and the use of the realization of the payload grasping and dexterous movement. The research in this paper provides a certain reference value for the propulsion robot arm to perform intelligent grasping tasks.

Research on Inventory Management of Shunfeng Logistics Co

With the development of the times and the progress of science and technology, the Internet Age makes inventory management in enterprise logistics activities play an increasingly important role. This paper mainly studies the inventory management of sf-ft logistics, through the analysis of the status quo of sf-ft logistics inventory management and the existing literature on the inventory management of the study, put forward suggestions for improvement of SF-FT logistics inventory management.

A home healthcare routing-scheduling optimization model considering time-balancing and outsourcing

Home care services have a significant role in lowering healthcare expenditure. Supply chain management in home healthcare (HHC) ensures efficient delivery of medical supplies and equipment to patients' homes, improving overall quality of care and patient outcomes. This study proposes a routing and scheduling optimization model for HHC by prioritizing patients, developing an effective delivery strategy, and considering home care logistics and services. The model primarily concerns reducing logistics activities’ overall expenses while considering patients’ priorities. A bi-objective optimization model for a multi-period HHC problem is developed by prioritizing patients with urgent critical needs. The best-worst method (BWM) and technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) are used to prioritize patients using a linear programming metric (Lp-metric). The BWM and TOPSIS have been uniquely used in this study for routing and scheduling in HHC. Eventually, the applicability of the proposed method is demonstrated through a real-life case study with a series of numerical examples and sensitivity analysis. For instance, by analyzing privilege, we see patients are carefully matched with caregivers possessing advanced skills, leading to increased patient satisfaction. Based on assigned routes, caregivers prioritize patients with higher weight and emergency conditions at the start of each path, followed by patients with less urgent conditions. This ensures that patients with more severe conditions are serviced first.

Enhancing Logistics Operations Quality for Improved Business Efficiency: A Structural Equation Modeling Approach in Manufacturing Enterprises in Northern Vietnam

The research aims to examine the relationship between the quality of logistics activities and business efficiency in manufacturing enterprises in the Northern region of Vietnam. The study selects five component factors of logistics activities including Internal Logistics, Inbound Logistics, Outbound Logistics, Support Logistics, and Logistics Costs to assess the impact of these factors on the Logistics Operation Quality and Business Effective. Primary data is collected from survey results, with 173 valid questionnaires. The study employs a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach, processing data using SPSS 24 and AMOS 24 software. The research findings indicate that factors related to well-organized logistics activities all have a positive influence on the quality of logistics activities. Among these factors, the quality of Inbound Logistics has the greatest impact on the quality of logistics activities. Additionally, the quality of logistics activities positively affects the business efficiency of enterprises. Managerial implications and future research directions are also discussed.

Mediating role of capabilities in organisational agility-performance relationship in J&K, India

PurposeThis study examines the impact of organisational agility on the performance of higher education institutions. It also aims to explore the mediating role of various capabilities, namely, service innovation, technology capability, learning capability, and collaborative knowledge creation, in the agility-performance relationship.Design/methodology/approachThe sample of this study includes teaching staff of two prominent state universities of J&K, India. The study employs Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Structured Equation Modelling (SEM) for scale purification and hypotheses testing.FindingsThe results show that organisational agility positively influences performance of higher education institutions. Capabilities, namely, service innovation, technology capability, learning capability and collaborative knowledge creation, partially mediate the organisational agility-performance relationship.Research limitations/implicationsThe sample comprises teaching staff of two established universities of J&K, India.Practical implicationsFor sustenance in the turbulent environment, higher educational institutions should employ practices like regular modification of academic programs, increasing the speed of logistics activities, investing in high-ended software and hardware facilities, and developing an open environment for the exchange of ideas by employees. Policy formulation should encourage adopting agile practices in higher education institutions for enhanced performance.Originality/valueThis paper focuses specifically on organisational agility and its impact on the performance of higher educational institutions. The study contributes to the agility literature by testing the mediating roles of service innovation, technology capability, learning capability and collaborative knowledge creation collectively in the relationship between organisational agility and performance, concluding that all these capabilities except service innovation enhance the effect of organisational agility on performance.

Innovative technologies in the logistics system

This article highlights the importance of the latest technologies and innovative logistics as the most effective element of the logistics activities of enterprises. The essence of the most modern and progressive technologies is described in detail, their advantages and features of implementation in real-time conditions are determined. The impact of these technologies on logistics and supply chains is analyzed. It has been established that the participants of the logistics chain are able to create a transparent and effective system of transaction recording, asset tracking and documentation management using the most promising innovative technologies in the logistics field. The effects that the subjects of the logistics chain receive from the introduction of the latest technologies are outlined. It has been proven that the use of progressive innovations in logistics can ensure the growth of the effective activity of any enterprise, reduce the total costs for the implementation of flow processes and improve the quality of customer service as a whole.

Adaptation of logistics managers' competency models to industry 5.0 challenges

Radical geopolitical and geoeconomic transformations in the global economy are disrupting established economic ties and traditional routes of global commodity movement. Rapid technological changes, accelerated development of e-commerce, omnichannel strategies, and the sharing economy have contributed to increased demand for automation, robotization, and digitalization of logistics activities and supply chain management. These factors prompt the renewal and adaptation of the competencies set for logistics managers and, consequently, academic educational programs. The aim of the conducted research was to identify the impact of Industry 5.0 on the formation of the logistics personnel competency system, and to develop a new competency model considering rapid changes in technology, market conditions, consumer sentiments, and the regulatory environment. The research methodology combines theoretical analysis (theoretical generalization, analysis and synthesis, comparison, and grouping) with empirical research. As a result, existing and future trends in the logistics industry development were summarized, a comparative analysis of the competencies of logistics managers and engineers was conducted, and a tendency for their convergence under the influence of the transition from Industry 4.0 to 5.0 was identified. The developed comprehensive competency model for logistics managers in the context of Industry 5.0 allowed for improving the content and structure of the "Logistics" educational program at the National Technical University of Ukraine, determining the ratio between general and professional skills, the set of necessary tools and technologies required for developing and implementing logistics solutions, stimulating students to improve their knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as orienting them towards effective professional activity in the future. Future research is reasonable to focus on evaluating new technological courses' effectiveness, developing interdisciplinary teaching methods, integrating practical experience, incorporating sustainability and social responsibility, and creating innovative assessment techniques to ensure curricula meet evolving labor market demands and prepare students for real-world challenges and new Industry 5.0 requirements.

Outsourcing Supply Logistics for Health Commodities in Africa

Abstract: Outsourcing of health-commodity supplies to third-party logistics providers is one of the ways of reducing costs and/or improving service levels in the public sector. This paper evaluates three forms of outsourcing: full outsourcing of inventory management, partial outsourcing of specific activities, and contingent partial outsourcing of specific logistics activities. It notes that, in Africa, contracting-out supply logistics has mostly taken the form of partial outsourcing of transportation only or storage and transportation of specific health commodities to all or selected geographical regions. Partial outsourcing offers limited benefits since it cannot provide adequate pressures on public-sector logistics to be efficient or maintain uninterrupted supplies in times of catastrophes. Improvements in logistics performance achieved through partial outsourcing should not mask the need for more expansive arrangements that support not only partial outsourcing but also full outsourcing in situations of inefficiency and in times of supply-disruption catastrophe.

Business activity and risks of trading enterprises: the dialectic of the relationship

The paper defines the content of the definition of «business activity» in a broad and narrow sense, the components of its assessment are indicators of logistical, commercial, financial, and investment activities. It is shown that regular assessment and analysis of the business activity of a trading enterprise allows timely detection of problems, optimization of the use of resources, increasing the efficiency of its activity and making informed management decisions. It is shown that risk is an integral part of the economic activity of trading enterprises, which requires special attention and management efforts to ensure the stability and development of enterprises. Approaches to the creation of a complex risk management system with the selection of individual components, the integration of which will ensure the stability and sustainability of trading enterprises in conditions of uncertainty and rapid changes in the market environment, are proposed. A set of measures that will contribute to improving the competitiveness of trade enterprises and increasing their ability to adapt to changes in the economic environment are substantiated. Implementation of the proposed tools will allow trade enterprises to better understand and analyze the needs of their customers, thereby ensuring more efficient work in a risk-oriented environment. The principles of the use of digital technologies in the economy of a commercial enterprise are proposed, including such elements as big data analytics, marketing automation, personalized communications and the integration of various sales channels. This provides the ability to quickly adapt to changes in the market situation, reducing risks and increasing the efficiency of business processes of a trading company. It has been proven that the intensification of business activity and the reduction of risks of trade enterprises require a systematic approach, which includes strategic planning, innovation, effective management of resources and risk minimization. Implementation of the proposed strategies will help trading enterprises to increase their competitiveness, reduce risks and ensure stable development in conditions of market uncertainty.

Impacts of Climate Change on Logistics and Supply Chains

While the global public is struggling with Covid-19 and the subsequent inflation, war and energy crisis, climate change has turned into a forgotten crisis. However, with the increasing number of disasters caused by extreme weather events in different continents of the world, climate change has started to attract attention all over the world. Extreme weather events such as global warming, floods and hurricanes, which are the result of global climate change, not only affect the lives of societies, but also affect logistics and supply chains. The first spots to see the effects of extreme weather conditions as a result of climate change are the production centers in different parts of the world and the international logistics sector, which ensures that the goods produced in these facilities reach the markets. By this study, the qualitative effects of climate change on supply chains were investigated and this research is expected to shed light on the effects of climate change on international logistics activities.

ANALYSIS OF HANDLING REVERSE LOGISTICS (CASE STUDY OF WASHING MACHINE MEGAMOUTH SERIES AT PT. SHARP ELECTRONIC INDONESIA)

This journal is about reverse logistics at PT. Sharp Electronics Indonesia . Even it is not popular when compared to forward logistics. Reverse Logistics aims to save the value of the product so that it can be reused so that the goods should be discarded and do not have value to have a return value and can be resold so as to increase profits for the company. PT. Sharp Elektronics Indonesia is a company engaged in electronics, which is produced Refrigerator, washing machine, TV, etc. The main problem faced by PT. Sharp Electronics Indonesia is a Reverse Process Handling on washing machine products. Reverse logistics activities conducted at PT. Sharp Electronic Indonesia is Gatekeeping, Refurbish and Remanufacturing, Negotiation and Financial Management. To make the reverse activity more optimal, the researcher suggests the company to apply other policies besides those that have been applied, namely Compacting Disposition Cycle Time (CDCT) policy that is related to how to reduce the disposition process cycle and Asset Recovery policy in which the company resells goods suffered damage without any renewal process.

Optimizing Company Performance Through Effective Logistics Management

In the contemporary business environment, effective supply chain and logistics management are pivotal for minimizing costs, enhancing competitiveness, and optimizing operational efficiency. This study investigates the effects of key logistics practices—transportation, warehousing, packaging, inventory, and information management—on organizational performance. Leveraging a ‘Supply Chain Optimization’ dataset from Kaggle, the research analyzes how cost reductions across these logistics activities influence overall expenses and performance metrics. By categorizing Supply Chain Management (SCM) performance metrics into strategic, tactical, and operational levels, the study reveals how decisions at each level, from location strategy to daily inventory management, interact to impact overall effectiveness. The findings emphasize the critical role of optimizing logistics functions to boost business efficiency, customer satisfaction, and competitive advantage. The study provides actionable insights for logistics managers aiming to enhance performance through improved management practices in various Industries and organizations.

The role of organizational performance in sustaining competitive advantage through reverse logistics activities

PurposeReverse logistics (RL) activities are becoming crucial in today’s business environment because of their ability to enhance organizational capabilities to manage waste and resources effectively and efficiently as an approach for achieving sustainability. These capabilities can eventually create sustainable competitive advantage (SCA). Drawing on resource-based view (RBV), this study posits RL as a tool to develop capabilities gained from high performance (financial and nonfinancial) to enhance SCA.Design/methodology/approachCovariance-based structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to analyze 1,207 responses collected from manufacturing organizations operating in Egypt. Data were gathered through an online survey sent via email to manufacturing organizations operating in Egypt, particularly Cairo, Giza and Alexandria, as these governorates contain most business activities in Egypt and hence high a percentage of waste.FindingsResults indicated that RL activities (recycling, remanufacturing, repair, recondition and disposal) can fully mediate the relationship between organizational performance (financial and nonfinancial) and SCA. However, the remanufacturing and recycling mediating roles between financial performance and SCA were not significant.Research limitations/implicationsApplying this research in a developing country (Egypt) will help extend RBV and incentivize organizations to apply RL activities, which can potentially solve several environmental issues such as decreasing waste.Originality/valueUsing the research variables in combination will help in filling the literature gap as previous research focused on RL and only organizational operational performance, where RL was used as an independent variable with no illustration of how its dimensions affect performance or its mediating role between performance and SCA.

A Reference Architecture for Reverse Logistics in the High-Tech Industry

With the pressing need to shift towards sustainable sociotechnical systems, high-tech equipment manufacturers are facing an increasing demand for accountability in reverse logistics. Implementation of reverse logistics introduces complexities, particularly in handling the unpredictability of product returns, coordination of the network, and communication among different stakeholders along the reverse chain. To navigate these complexities and facilitate decision-making, the objective of this paper is to design a reference architecture tailored to the high-tech manufacturing sector. The proposed reference architecture encompasses a variety of reverse logistics activities, ranging from installed base management to recovery processes, to achieve supply chain circularity, and couples these witha data-driven decision-making processes to enhance efficiency and reliability throughout the reverse chain. The reference architecture is instantiated in the context of a real company case published in the literature and evaluated by domain experts and practitioners in the target industry. Evaluation results from questionnaire analysis indicate very positive responses towards our proposed solution in terms of completeness, flexibility, integration, simplicity, understandability, and usability. Overall, the reference architecture supports reverse logistics practitioners in integrated decision-making, ranging from organisational to operational levels.

System Dynamics for Local Supply Chain Management: A Literature Review

Nowadays, logistics activities are growing annually by 4.4%, reaching annual valuations of up to 10 billion dollars. This area is key for manufacturing companies and commerce in general, which is why the central question arises in this area of knowledge about how to approach proposals or improvement actions in a sustainable way. On the other hand, technological tools such as simulation are an important element to evaluate sustainability alternatives and operational strategies due to their flexibility and high scope. This article addresses a systematic literature review about the use of system dynamics within the management of current supply chains, covering 144 articles in databases such as Scopus and ScienceDirect, for the period between 2000 and 2022 to generate an overview for new sustainability proposals in México.

STATISTICAL METHODS FOR MANAGING RISKS IN PLANNING FOREIGN ECONOMIC AND LOGISTICS ACTIVITIES FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ENTERPRISE

The article examines the topical issue of risk management in foreign economic and logistics activities, which is closely related to the enterprise’s chosen strategy and ensures its sustainable development. The study considers the issue of developing a hedging strategy using statistical methods since adequate forecasting allows predicting the impact of external environment factors on the exchange rate, which will allow the enterprise to timely predict and mitigate the risks in foreign economic and logistics activities. The authors have used general scientific and special methods of systemic and structural analysis to clarify the directions of sustainable performance and risk management tools; formulate the goals and steps in choosing a strategy of hedging; compare the methods of foreign exchange rate risk hedging and perform correlation and regression analysis of factors that impact exchange rate under crisis conditions. The purpose of the paper is to study the specifics of ensuring the sustainable performance of an enterprise using statistical methods in risk management for planning foreign economic and logistics activities. The authors have proposed a definition of a hedging strategy based on the concepts, approaches, and ideas of asset and/or investment management with the aim of reducing loss through hedging instruments, whose feasibility can be substantiated by statistical methods. It has been found that the formation and successful implementation of a hedging strategy requires the use of statistical analysis in order to timely predict fluctuations in exchange rates. The findings of the research were tested based on the performance of PrJSC "Linde Gas Ukraine". In the strategy of hedging the exchange rate risks, it has been proposed to simultaneously open a foreign currency deposit and take a loan in the national currency to replenish the company's working capital. The perspective of further research is the implementation of the proposed hedging strategy and assessment of its effectiveness.

Goal-oriented clustering algorithm to monitor the efficiency of logistic processes through real-time locating systems

ABSTRACT Modern internal logistic systems face several challenges, from supply chain disruption to mass customization of marketed products. In such a highly dynamic scenario, Internet of Things technologies provide a reliable path to digitizing low-standardized systems and quantitatively monitoring their functioning. In addition, acquired measurements are often combined with machine learning methods to achieve improved data analytics. For this purpose, this work presents a digital architecture to detect logistic activities during order management. While an ultrawide band-based real-time locating system acquires the positioning information of forklifts, a goal-oriented clustering algorithm called Industrial DB scan classifies process-driven operations during the shift. These insights represent valuable information for constantly evaluating the operational efficiency of logistic systems. The robustness and validity of the industrial DB scan are tested from different perspectives. On the one hand, a quantitative benchmark with traditional clustering methods is performed. The proposed algorithm results in the most effective approach to detect uptime forklift operations. On the other hand, a warehousing system proves the operational functioning of the algorithm. In this regard, a Tracking Management System interface is developed to achieve user-friendly process monitoring, where plant supervisors can analyze several internal logistic key performance indicators.

Impact Assessment of Logistics on Project Management

This study aims to create a model for assessing the impact of logistics on projects and based on this model to reveal the role of logistics in the management of various projects and to assess the impact of logistics and supply chain on projects and their implementation. For the present study, the possible impact of logistics on projects management have been identified, which are related to the assessment of the impact of logistics on the project schedule; assessment of the impact of logistics on project costs; assessment of the impact of logistics on project supplies and assessment of the impact of logistics on project risks. The study focuses on assessing the impact of logistics and supply chains on project management. A survey was conducted on 110 projects implemented in the period 2018- 2022. The survey was completed by project managers. The study includes investment, technical, innovative, research and scientific, and volunteer projects. The strength of the relationship between variables for which the presence of dependence is established is carried out by Cramer’s V. Relationships have been established between the person responsible for logistics activities in the project and the main risks that affect the delay in project implementation. The study aims to demonstrate the positive effect of implementing effective logistics practices and demonstrate the importance of logistics in project management and the impact that logistics activities can have on planning deadlines and project schedules, which will reflect on the cost of projects and the quality of implementation. The main characteristics of project logistics are revealed and on this basis, the assessment of the impact of logistics on project management is derived. The findings indicate that the main problems in project management are related to the violation of the schedule and therefore to increased costs.
