TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNOLOGICAL COMPONENT LOGISTICS OF MSW IN POLTAVA REGION

The aim of the study is to ensure the effectiveness of the waste management system in Poltava region for the long term of the Regional Waste Management Plan in Poltava region for 2030 (RPUV) by analyzing the prospects of the logistics organization of waste management. Methodology. This paper uses methods of factor analysis with the study of causal relationships of the impact of conceptual provisions of the regional waste management system and some organizational and technological factors of its formation, as well as methods of inductive logic in forecasting trends. Results. It is established that the main conceptual principles of development of the waste management system of Poltava region provide for the introduction of a multi-stage scheme of solid waste transportation. The compliance of the road network with the goals of the RPUV is analyzed and the main problems are identified. A detailed analysis of the quality of the road network of the region allowed to identify the roads that pose the greatest threat to the implementation of the RPUV. The main tendencies of development of the park of specialized transport equipment in different perspective periods of realization of the plan and at different stages of the organization of transportations are established. Prospects for transport support of the first stage of transportation are formulated depending on the degree of urbanization of settlements. Originality. Based on the analysis of regional features of the system of solid waste management, the most probable directions of development of the technological component of the logistics structure of the regional system of solid waste management have been identified. Practical value. The results of the study reduce the risks of the implementation of the Regional Waste Management Plan and increase the efficiency of the solid waste management system.

Implementation of prehabilitation in colorectal cancer surgery: qualitative research on how to strengthen facilitators and overcome barriers

PurposePrehabilitation is increasingly offered to patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) undergoing surgery as it could prevent complications and facilitate recovery. However, implementation of such a complex multidisciplinary intervention is challenging. This study aims to explore perspectives of professionals involved in prehabilitation to gain understanding of barriers or facilitators to its implementation and to identify strategies to successful operationalization of prehabilitation.MethodsIn this qualitative study, semi-structured interviews were performed with healthcare professionals involved in prehabilitation for patients with CRC. Prehabilitation was defined as a preoperative program with the aim of improving physical fitness and nutritional status. Parallel with data collection, open coding was applied to the transcribed interviews. The Ottawa Model of Research Use (OMRU) framework, a comprehensive interdisciplinary model guide to promote implementation of research findings into healthcare practice, was used to categorize obtained codes and structure the barriers and facilitators into relevant themes for change.ResultsThirteen interviews were conducted. Important barriers were the conflicting scientific evidence on (cost-)effectiveness of prehabilitation, the current inability to offer a personalized prehabilitation program, the complex logistic organization of the program, and the unawareness of (the importance of) a prehabilitation program among healthcare professionals and patients. Relevant facilitators were availability of program coordinators, availability of physician leadership, and involving skeptical colleagues in the implementation process from the start.ConclusionsImportant barriers to prehabilitation implementation are mainly related to the intervention being complex, relatively unknown and only evaluated in a research setting. Therefore, physicians’ leadership is needed to transform care towards more integration of personalized prehabilitation programs.Implications for cancer survivorsBy strengthening prehabilitation programs and evidence of their efficacy using these recommendations, it should be possible to enhance both the pre- and postoperative quality of life for colorectal cancer patients during survivorship.

Information security policy in the organization

This article discusses the problem of ensuring the information security of many organizations associated with the developed and current information security policies in these organizations. The relevance of the work is due to the presence of gaps, vulnerabilities and flaws in ensuring the security of information of the STS Logistics organization, which increases the risk of unauthorized access to the company's information resources and the disclosure of personal data of employees. The purpose of the work is to identify shortcomings in ensuring the security of information in the organization under consideration from the existing information security policy, by developing a threat model and analyzing the current information security policy. Based on the work done, identify threats that create prerequisites, the possibility of leakage of protected information and develop recommendations for improving the information security policy to eliminate them. The ongoing research consists in building a model of information security threats and in analyzing the information security policy that exists in a given organization.

Operational management as a basis for the formation of the enterprise's competitiveness

The relevance of practical issues of managing the company's operational activities, taking into account its impact on competitiveness, has been proven. The conditions of martial law in Ukraine are characterized by the decline of production at most industrial enterprises, the curtailment of scientific research, the loss of positive trends and the dynamics of the innovative activities development, the low competitiveness of products and the pace of economic development. The purpose of the study is to determine the features of operational management in modern conditions and to identify the nature of its influence on the formation of the company's competitiveness. For enterprises, efficiency is always related to meeting the needs of consumers and obtaining the maximum possible profit with acceptable risks. The nature of the influence of strategic and tactical operational management on the competitiveness of the enterprise is revealed. In practice, the life cycle of a competitive advantage, which is its indisputable specific difference, must be taken into account for a specific business entity. Such an approach is expedient, as it is able to ensure an early response to the dynamics of external and internal environmental factors. While characterizing the specifics of the enterprise's competitiveness, attention is focused on the following mandatory conditions for its evaluation of the enterprise: the presence of competitive products and ensuring effective operations. Based on the results of the analysis, it was concluded that in order to respond flexibly to changes and action plan within the framework of operational strategies, business analysis should be carried out in the following areas: value chain, business process map, product life cycle and business process cost. As practice shows, the operational activity of enterprises is characterized by a complex set of relations with various stakeholders. Representatives of the retail business in Ukraine and abroad, responding to requests for increased security and convenience, offer consumers various options for searching and paying for purchases: "Click and collect", "Without cashiers", "Scan and collect", "Smart carts", technological and biometric contactless payment systems, etc. The technology of logistics organization is also crucial for trade enterprises. Factors influencing the acceptance and patronage of E-commerce logistics operations in Nigeria

BackgroundIn the global world that is technologically driven, efficiency and productivity of businesses that have decided to embrace technology are achieved by e-commerce logistics (ECL). E-commerce logistics has received momentous attention in the developed countries but less attention in the developing countries. There have been some elements of uncertainty regarding the relevance of e-commerce logistics especially in the developing countries. To fill this gap, this study explored the factor influencing the acceptance and patronage of e-commerce logistics in Nigeria.MethodsThe following e-commerce and logistics businesses: Jumia, Konga, Kobo360, Breath2Wealth, Okrikah, DeliveryBros, Cartehub, STYLISTAA, and DayDone Limited, were explored in this study. The organizations were chosen because they were known for both e-commerce and logistics business. Qualitative research method and case study research design were employed for data collection through a purposive sampling technique. Primary data were targeted at two representatives from each organization.ConclusionsThe study found that external factors, political situation, government initiatives, economic situation, geographical situation, technology infrastructure, sociocultural situation, and public wakefulness have significant influence on the acceptance and patronage of e-commerce logistics in Nigeria. The study also found that many e-commerce companies also venture into distribution, thereby providing some level of logistics such as warehousing, packaging, and transportation, but they were not well informed that their operation is beyond e-commerce. It is therefore recommended that such organization should include logistics to their operation. E-commerce logistics organization should clearly state their terms and condition regarding the law of carriage which should be in accordance to the Nigeria law of Carriage.

The effect of storage conditions on the microstructure of sterilized canned meat

The article presents the results of studies of changes in the microstructure of the meat system as a whole and its protein component during freezing, subsequent defrosting, and storage of canned meat. Microstructural analysis of the prototypes showed the presence of several types of destruction of muscle fibers, loosening of collagen fiber bundles, and the formation of multiple cavities due to the action of ice crystals. The main components of sterilized canned meat had new characteristics after thawing, such as decreased transverse striations of muscle tissue fibers, loosening of myofibrils, changes in the size and shape of sarcomeres, violation of sarcolemma integrity, and multiple fiber fragmentation with the formation of a fine-grained protein mass. Freezing did not lead to a decrease in the content of the high-molecular-weight protein fraction of the nitrogen system, the ratio of the peptide fraction content to the residual nitrogen remained equal to 5.2. However, the ratio of non-protein nitrogen to total nitrogen decreased by 1.8 times due to the destruction of low-molecular-weight nitrogen under the action of ice crystals. The dynamics of the eh values of control and experimental canned food samples during storage indicated the loss of oxidative stability of the protein system of the samples subjected to freezing. Based on the results, we would like to recommend that logistic organizations sort and confirm canned meat safety and quality requirements after thawing in the case of unforeseen circumstances.

Peripheral blood mononuclear cells cryopreservation and transportation

Chimeric antigen receptor-T (CAR-T) cells have emerged as a treatment option for patients with hematologic malignancies. Usually, their manufacture has been carried out by specialized and centralized laboratories. A useful strategy, which allows a better logistical organization, is the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) cryopreservation and transportation. This article aims to discuss the most relevant points related to the PBMC cryopreservation and transportation process. In addition, it proposes a kind of standard operational protocol (SOP) that can be very helpful for the cell processing labs.

Logística reversa de resíduos da construção civil

This article sought to understand the activities developed by the construction industry in what concerns waste management. Due to the generation of large volumes of solid waste, the treatment and proper disposal of such waste has a great influence on reducing the environmental impacts caused by the sector. The objective of this study was to analyze the management of reverse logistics of civil construction waste; identify the type, volume and characteristics of waste discarded in civil construction; verify the current system of management of civil construction waste; and propose alternatives that can contribute to the adoption of reverse logistics for civil construction waste. The research was carried out in a civil construction company in the city of Itã/SC between March and June,2021 and it was accompanied by the administrative manager of the company. It is a Qualitative research and made use of a questionnaire applied to the company's employees on the subject of the study. The criterion used to choose the company was that it does not have a correct destination for the waste resulting from its activities. As the city in which it is installed is small, it does not have this concern with waste. One of the options proposed involves the implementation of so-called reverse logistics, as it promotes the use of waste to replace virgin materials. The research results show that the waste management systems in the researched organization encompass the following steps: construction waste is discarded in the warehouse yard, without any separation of the same, the collection of these are made by employees of the organization itself, there is no specific loss control. Waste that can be reused is taken to other works for which the company is responsible. The results achieved were the improvement of the logistics of these products and organization in the workspace, making reverse logistics applied in the company. The contribution of this work is that, by adopting the planning and organization of reverse logistics to improve work and sustainability, other construction companies in the city may also apply this idea and improve their own logistics as well as achieve better sustainability levels.

Profit distribution and stability analysis of joint distribution alliance based on tripartite evolutionary game theory under the background of green and low carbon.

Joint distribution is an advanced logistics organization model for improving the quality and efficiency of express logistics industry and achieves high-quality development of logistics, but the distribution of common profit has always been a key obstacle to the effective development of joint distribution. Based on the background of green and low carbon, this paper explores a fairer and more reasonable profit distribution scheme. The profit game between the government and the two types of member enterprises is analyzed. By focusing on how the government plays a role in inducing the joint distribution alliance to bring the green and low-carbon requirements into the profit distribution, the strategy evolution process of the three parties, the factors affecting the profit distribution and the stability of alliance are discussed through the establishment of "government-member enterprise A-member enterprise B" tripartite evolutionary game model. Finally, the evolutionary game model is numerically simulated based on system dynamics. It is found that (1) it is necessary for the government to guide and motivate the alliance to create internal incentives and constraints. The effect of government subsidies and rewards to member enterprises is greater than the penalties for member enterprises. (2) The member enterprises are likely to conspire together to defraud government subsidies and rewards, carry out "free riding" and other speculative activities, which makes it necessary for the government and the alliance to establish supervision mechanism, information disclosure mechanism, and property rights protection system. (3) The willingness of member enterprise to positively cooperate will increase with the increase of the additional benefit coefficient, the proportion of profit distribution and the importance of environmental benefit factor; and will decrease with the increase of the cost of promoting green distribution operations.

The marbles of the basilica of Ascalon: another example of the Severan building projects

This paper presents the research conducted on the origin of the white marble architecture of the basilica of Ascalon (Israel). The basilica is located in the civic centre of the Roman city of Ascalon and it is one of the relatively few known monumental buildings of Roman Palestine. The various construction phases of the basilica are dated from the first century BC to the third century AD. As Israel has no sources of marble, this paper explores the origin of the white marble that was used for several architectural elements such as bases, columns, capitals, and figurative pilasters to identify their provenance. The methodology includes petrographic studies, chemical and isotopic analyses, and chemical analyses of inclusion fluids and extractable salts (crush-leach analyses) of the marble. The results demonstrate that the imported marble highlights the wide extent of connectivity and interregional trade in the region. Some of the main sources of building materials used in the construction programme of this basilica originate from famous supra-regional quarries such as Prokonnesos and Thasos, and different quarries on the island of Lesbos. The similarities between the Severan basilica in Ascalon and the contemporary building in Leptis Magna are also discussed in this paper. In combination with the absence of a built-up port in the ancient city of Ascalon, these results also provide important information on the economy of Roman Palestine, transportation networks, and the logistical organisation of large-scale building programmes.

A Novel Fuzzy-Based VIKOR–CRITIC Soft Computing Method for Evaluation of Sustainable Supply Chain Risk Management

This article aims to evaluate sustainable supply chain risks using a novel fuzzy VIKOR–CRITIC technique. The research contributions of this study are twofold. First and foremost, this is the first attempt to integrate the fuzzy VIKOR approach with the CRITIC method in order to eradicate the inadequacies of the VIKOR method. Second, this is the first study to look at the sustainable supply chain risk management in Pakistan’s logistics industry. Four logistics companies were chosen for the study, and thirty criteria were established and divided into four categories using acquired data and literature studies. According to the findings, organizational risks are the most important to consider, whereas environmental hazards have the least influence. Supply delays, freight rate/oil price fluctuations, bankruptcy, and natural catastrophe are the four most important criteria in these categories. Limited suppliers, cargo tracking, IT system failure, and international politics are the four least significant criteria in the four risk categories. The findings are useful for the logistics industry operating in CPEC for risk mitigation and sustainable operation. The research may be used as a guideline for risk identification and management by practitioners and decision-makers in Pakistani logistics organizations.

Autonomy and new modes of control in digital work contexts – a mixed-methods study of driving professions in food logistics

Purpose Digitalization is changing organizations with positive and negative impacts such as increased autonomy on the one hand and increased surveillance and control on the other hand. In this context, new modes of control occur: in addition to managerial control, new modes of control are multi-directed, stemming from colleagues, customers and underlying algorithms. This paper investigates the interrelation of autonomy and new modes of control in digital work contexts from the workers’ perspectives.Design/methodology/approach Empirical data are based on a mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews with 25 and a quantitative questionnaire with 127 workers from urban food logistics organizations in Germany.Findings The results show that new modes of control are relevant for work engagement in digital work contexts: managerial and algorithm control are perceived as support. Peer and customer control are perceived as coercion.Originality/value Besides investigating the interrelation of autonomy and control and differentiating new modes of control, our study also makes important contributions to the perception of control as support and coercion.

ОСОБЛИВОСТІ ЗАКУПІВЕЛЬНОЇ ЛОГІСТИКИ В МІЖНАРОДНОМУ БІЗНЕСІ

Introduction. Modern trends in the development of international business are characterized by dynamic global processes, in which procurement logistics plays an important role, aimed at solving a number of tasks of the enterprise to ensure its survival in international markets. Procurement logistics helps the enterprise to establish effective relations with consumers and intermediaries in the international business environment by providing it with the necessary resources in the process of managing material flows, guarantees reliable and uninterrupted supply and production of certain goods and services, and contributes to the effective organization of sales activities. Therefore, the chosen research topic is extremely relevant, timely, practice-oriented, aimed at solving specific problems of the effective organization of procurement processes on international markets. Purpose. The purpose of the article is to summarize theoretical and methodological provisions and substantiate practical recommendations regarding the development of procurement logistics in international business. The defined goal determines the fulfillment of such tasks as substantiating the concept of «procurement logistics» in international business, identifying the peculiarities of procurement logistics in international markets, developing practical recommendations for the effective organization of procurement logistics in international business. Materials and methods. The research materials are the works of domestic and foreign authors who conduct their scientific and practical research in the field of procurement logistics, in particular, regarding its implementation in the international business environment. In the process of carrying out the research, the following scientific methods were used: theoretical research (to justify the essence of procurement logistics in international business, to identify the features of its development); analysis and synthesis (to determine the main factors of influence on procurement logistics in general, and on supplier selection in particular in international business, substantiating the stages of the supplier selection process in international markets); graphic (to create drawings for the purpose of visual demonstration of factors affecting procurement logistics in international business and the stages of supplier selection); logical generalization of results (for formulating conclusions) Results. The concept of «procurement logistics» is substantiated in the scientific article. An author's definition of procurement logistics in international business is offered. It is understood as a set of measures to manage the company's material, financial and information flows in the international business environment in order to provide it with all the necessary resources for effective activity on international markets. The main influencing factors on the formation of features of procurement logistics in international business, which are important for its development, have been determined. The main groups of influencing factors on supplier selection in procurement logistics on international markets are substantiated and the supplier selection process, which consists of several stages, each of which requires the enterprise to perform the necessary actions for effective work with the supplier, is analyzed. In general, all the conclusions and proposals of this study relate to the effective organization of procurement logistics in international business. Discussion. In further research, it is proposed to focus attention on the conditions of interaction between the enterprise and the supplier in various crisis situations in the international business environment; to choose an economically justified order size on international markets; on substantiation of the optimal supply system in international business and deepening of studies of Incoterms supply conditions in international business operations.

Organization of logistics and procurement chain and entrepreneurship in accordance with halal standard

The term transport chain includes the sum of all flows in which the transported goods are in motion, starting from the suppliers of raw materials, through intermediaries-wholesalers and retailers, all the way to the final consumers. The transport chain also includes numerous services that also contribute to increasing the value of the product. What will be the concrete structure of the transport chain, first of all, depends on the characteristics of the product itself, which is required by the final consumer, and which must be offered by the manufacturer. At the same time, the demands of consumers are based on the characteristics of their way of life and lifestyle, including the demands imposed by religious beliefs. These are specific requirements that, for example, are imposed on the Islamic faith through Sharia law. It strictly prescribes what is permissible for Islamic believers (permitted goods, services or behaviors) and is called halal. When we consider the Halal standard and its application in logistics, it means that all members of the supply chain in the Halal product system must comply with Sharia law. It specifically imposes the need for halal certification; specific hygienic and sanitary premises. At the same time, the procedures must be controlled by specially qualified persons and organizations, which are accepted by Islam.

МІЖНАРОДНИЙ ТРАНСПОРТНО-ЛОІГСТИЧНИЙ БІЗНЕС В СИСТЕМІ МІЖНАРОДНОЇ ЕКОНОМІЧНОЇ БЕЗПЕКИ

The article analyzes the current trends of the international transport and logistics business in the system of international economic security. The development of the integration of the world economy and the globalization of business contribute to the creation of international logistics systems and global supply chains. The article highlights the main directions of increasing the efficiency of supply chain management and indicates the sources of increasing the efficiency of this process. The key negative aspects that prevent the effective functioning of international transport and logistics systems have been identified. A comparison is made between the traditional approach to production and the logistic approach, when the manufacturer starts production only when a specific order is received. The inventory management system of the seller is characterized. An overview of modern trends in the international transport and logistics business was carried out, in particular: increasing turnover while shortening delivery times, increasing investments in logistics startups by venture funds, customization, the use of multimodal transport and logistics centers, ecological logistics, etc. The main directions in which digital logistics centers can help logistics companies to achieve success are determined, in particular, it was determined that success will be achieved through the use of the method of «postponement» or «delayed product differentiation», the organization of e-commerce logistics, containerization, increasing the share of direct express deliveries from the producer to the consumer, bypassing intermediaries and intermediate warehouses, electronic exchange of data and various information, the growth of the agricultural machinery market, the use of multimodal transport and logistics centers, as well as clear planning of supply chains, flexibility, management of stocks and volumes. Also, a hypothesis was put forward about the emergence of a new term «logtech company», which includes not only the creation of new technologies, but also new logistics business models based on the joint use (shared use) of transportation.

The concept a logistic network organization Lviv-Rzeszow

Purpose: This publication focuses on issues related to logistics management. The aim of this publication is to show the possibility of creating a logistics center within logistic networks. Design/methodology/approach: This publication uses a conceptual method based on observations, sales forecasts and distance analysis of logistics centers. Findings: The analysis of the collected and presented data as part of the concept of creating a logistics center Lviv-Rzeszów shows that such an action is justified, in particular in economic terms. The study shows that the optimization of processes as part of the implementation of the concept would allow for many benefits for the economy and regional development, as well as for the transport and logistics industry itself. Research Limitation/implication: During the study, there were limitations related to obtaining empirical data. The most important implication of the study is the statement that the planned investment will bring significant benefits to entrepreneurs and other market stakeholders. Originality/Value of paper: The publication showed the possibilities of using the new logistics center Lviv-Rzeszów and its impact regional and business development.

A community-based approach to image analysis of cells, tissues and tumors.

Emerging multiplexed imaging platforms provide an unprecedented view of an increasing number of molecular markers at subcellular resolution and the dynamic evolution of tumor cellular composition. As such, they are capable of elucidating cell-to-cell interactions within the tumor microenvironment that impact clinical outcome and therapeutic response. However, the rapid development of these platforms has far outpaced the computational methods for processing and analyzing the data they generate. While being technologically disparate, all imaging assays share many computational requirements for post-collection data processing. As such, our Image Analysis Working Group (IAWG), composed of researchers in the Cancer Systems Biology Consortium (CSBC) and the Physical Sciences - Oncology Network (PS-ON), convened a workshop on "Computational Challenges Shared by Diverse Imaging Platforms" to characterize these common issues and a follow-up hackathon to implement solutions for a selected subset of them. Here, we delineate these areas that reflect major axes of research within the field, including image registration, segmentation of cells and subcellular structures, and identification of cell types from their morphology. We further describe the logistical organization of these events, believing our lessons learned can aid others in uniting the imaging community around self-identified topics of mutual interest, in designing and implementing operational procedures to address those topics and in mitigating issues inherent in image analysis (e.g., sharing exemplar images of large datasets and disseminating baseline solutions to hackathon challenges through open-source code repositories).

An Integrated Optimization Model for Medicine Order Distribution and Delivery Problem of Online Pharmacy Based on the Optimal Supply Chain Strategy

The issue of health and medicine has always been very important. The volume of demand in the field of medicine is very high and is considered as one of the sensitive and vital products, so the accuracy in using the medicine and the accuracy of time of its use and access are among the strict requirements in the field of drug circulation. As we know, in order to achieve the best therapeutic effect and cure the disease, several drugs for a specific disease are usually used simultaneously. Therefore, an order which contains different types of medicines must be delivered on time, together and at the same time. By focusing on the supply chain, companies are experiencing significant reductions in healthcare costs. The purpose of this article is to provide a model and solution for online pharmacies through which chain costs can be optimized. In this regard, it is assumed that after the orders are received through the protocol in each period, a third-party logistics organization will collect the medicines required for each order from the physical pharmacies that have these medicines in their stock and transfer them to pharmacies that have the ability to send the medicines to the customer and a shipping fleet so that, considering logistical costs, orders are delivered to customers on time.

The relationship between logistics and trade marketing in FMCG companies

Logistics and marketing are usually concerned with satisfying the needs and wants of customers, respectively through their supply and demand functions in the marketplace. In order for organizations to successfully provide more value to customers, it is necessary to combine logistics and marketing functions. Globally, the importance of transport in every nation's economy is increasing every year, as its level of development has a major impact on the competitiveness of a nation's economy. The relevance of the study is that the relationship between logistics and marketing is crucial to serve FMCG market customers. A successful relationship between logistics and marketing, represents a source of competitive advantage to provide better customer service while keeping the cost of goods low. This paper presents the theoretical basis for the logistics organization of Kazakhstan's FMCG market. The current situation of domestic FMCG trade is presented and the contribution to the country's GDP is described. The main aspects and functions of logistics and marketing for finding joint areas and conflicts are also given. The principles of market supply chain management are described, the integration of logistics and marketing is analyzed using the concepts of trade marketing in distribution systems of modern companies as an example, and the logistics approach to trade and marketing activities is described. An important outcome of the analysis is the definition of marketing logistics as a source of competitive advantage, together with a description of digital marketing logistics technologies and the risks of their application.
