EVALUASI EFEKTIVITAS PENERAPAN MANAJEMEN BERBASIS SEKOLAH (MBS) DALAM MENINGKATKAN MUTU PENDIDIKAN DI SEKOLAH DASAR

The Indonesian government is trying to improve the standard of education that has so far lagged behind. To realize the quality of education in better school-based management, local support is needed in directing, checking and assisting schools in administration and educational experience. Elementary school education is a level of education that is part of the basic education level and is the foundation of knowledge and helps children grow and develop optimally through teacher-guided learning, so that it becomes the main tool in improving the quality of human resources. The main task of education is to develop the potential of human resources (HR) through various organizations, both governmental and non-governmental. One way of regulating it is through School-Based Management (SBM), which functions as a tool to manage the essence of teaching. Internal and external services provided by the school are directly supervised. This is in accordance with the philosophy of decentralization, which provides benefits to the community and school members by allowing principals, students, parents, and teachers to be involved in decision-making in a transparent, accountable and participatory manner. School-Based Management aims to improve the quality of education by involving cooperation from various parties, including principals, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders, as well as paying attention to facilities and infrastructure, motivation, self-concept, interests, and learning independence. In implementing the essence of education, schools seek their arrangements by implementing school-based administration. The purpose of this study was to determine how effective school-based management or MBS is in overcoming problems in schools and improving the quality of education in elementary schools. Qualitative descriptive methods are one of those used in this study. The diversity of information is generated through significant web-based writing and journals.

Implementation of the Gianyar Aman Sejahtera Regional People's Business Credit Program (KURDA GAS) in Pre-Prosperous Community MSMEs

KURDA GAS was launched to help the community in obtaining capital without the need for collateral, especially for the underprivileged. The purpose of this study is to find out how the Implementation of the Gianyar Aman Sejahtera Regional People's Business Credit Program (KURDA GAS) in MSMEs of the Underprivileged Community. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method with an inductive approach. This research was conducted at PT. BPR Regional Bank Gianyar (Perseroda) The results of the study show several factors that cause the KURDA GAS program to not be maximized. Inhibiting Factors: Lack of Understanding and Knowledge, Complicated Administrative Procedures, Weak Business Capacity and Management, Limited Guarantees, Market Competition. Supporting Factors: Local Government Support, Training and Assistance Programs, Improved Economic Conditions, Partnerships with Financial Institutions, Infrastructure and Access to Technology.

The Complex Pathway to Green Fields: Opportunities and Challenges of Organic Agriculture in Thailand

This article explores the complex dynamics of organic agriculture in Thailand, focusing on the interplay of economic viability, environmental sustainability, and consumer awareness. Since the implementation of the National Economic and Social Development Plan in 1961, Thailand has emphasized cash crop production, leading to increased reliance on chemical fertilizers and pesticides, which have raised significant environmental and health concerns. The article highlights the pivotal role of non-governmental organizations, such as the Alternative Agriculture Network, in advocating for sustainable farming practices and facilitating knowledge transfer between producers and consumers. Despite the potential benefits of organic farming, challenges persist, including labor-intensive production methods, declining interest among younger generations in agricultural careers, and a general lack of consumer understanding regarding organic products. The article underscores the importance of local financial support systems, such as cooperative loans, and government initiatives aimed at promoting organic agriculture. It argues that enhancing consumer awareness and demand for organic products is essential for fostering a sustainable agricultural future in Thailand. Ultimately, the findings suggest that a multi-faceted approach involving policy support, education, and community engagement is necessary to overcome the barriers to organic farming and ensure its growth in the Thai agricultural landscape.

Birds, bees and CSR managers: why is biodiversity conservation challenging for companies?

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to learn what kinds of obstacles Indian businesses face when trying to make biodiversity protection a top priority as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. Interventions are proposed to elevate biodiversity protection to the ranks of CSR priorities among Indian businesses.Design/methodology/approachThis study applies an interpretive phenomenological analysis strategy to glean information from in-depth interviews with leaders and professionals in CSR.FindingsThe findings of the study revealed that the main factors influencing Indian companies’ CSR area choices are existing processes and stakeholder pressures. Companies prioritise engaging with local communities and employees when selecting CSR activities. The major challenge is integrating biodiversity into business plans, with CSR heads struggling to secure investment due to long gestation periods and limited media coverage. Implementing agencies face issues with project deliverables, mainly due to land ownership and lack of local government support. Companies can also encourage employee involvement in pro-environmental behaviours. The study also provides practical solutions for Indian companies to enhance their CSR engagement in biodiversity conservation.Research limitations/implicationsThe research only focuses on the opinions of CSR specialists and leaders, so it may only consider part of the situation’s complexity inside the organisation. The results may only apply to the business climate in India; hence, extra care is warranted when extrapolating them to other countries. Nonetheless, the study provides valuable insights into the interplay between CSR and biodiversity protection that might inform future studies and policy initiatives.Originality/valueThis research fills a gap in the literature by investigating an uncharted territory: the role of CSR in protecting biodiversity in India. Examining obstacles and variables affecting CSR objectives illuminates business involvement in biodiversity conservation. The recommended treatments have real-world consequences for improving CSR involvement in this critical area.

Pertanian Terpadu dan Dukungan Lembaga Lokal dalam Upaya Konservasi DAS Hulu Desa Beruk Jatiyoso Karanganyar

<p><em>The sustainable management of natural resources is crucial for maintaining ecosystem sustainability and ensuring long-term fulfillment of basic needs. Farmers in Beruk Village, residing in the upstream area of the Watershed (DAS), are able to meet their basic needs through farming on steep landslide-prone land, which should ideally be designated as conservation areas. The research aims to examine integrated farming practices, assess local institutional support in conservation activities, and identify the sustainability of conservation-based farming efforts. The study employs a qualitative method, conducted in Beruk Village, Jatiyoso Sub-district, Karanganyar Regency. Fifteen informants were selected using purposive and snowball sampling methods. Data analysis utilized the interactive inductive analysis approach by Miles and Huberman. The research findings indicate that farmers in Beruk Village practice integrated farming systems that combine food, feed, and fertilizer concepts. Local institutional support from Beruk Village includes active participation of members in various conservation activities. The study concludes that farmers in Beruk Village implement integrated farming systems combining food, feed, and fertilizer concepts, but not all farmers apply conservation principles in their farming practices. The study recommends enhancing education and intensive training for farmers on the benefits and techniques of implementing conservation practices. This could be achieved through collaboration with educational institutions, local governments, and non-governmental organizations.</em></p>

Evaluation of Open Defecation Free Program Policy in Tambak Osowilangun Village Surabaya City

This study evaluates the implementation of the Open Defecation Free (ODF) Program in Tambak Osowilangun Village, Surabaya City using a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, documentation, and observation. The findings of the study show that the program has been successful in increasing access to proper sanitation facilities and reducing the incidence of sanitation-related diseases such as diarrhea. Significant challenges still exist, especially related to uneven changes in community behavior and suboptimal maintenance of sanitation facilities. The success of the program is supported by the active involvement of local communities and policy support from local governments, but is hampered by factors such as limited infrastructure in remote areas and cultural resistance to changes in sanitation practices. The limitations of this study include geographic coverage limited to a single village and a qualitative approach that may not cover the variation of experiences across the regions affected by the ODF program.

An intelligent garment for online fetal well-being monitoring

Considered as one category of wearable systems, intelligent garments represent an opportunity for meeting special needs of various populations on well-being monitoring. In this paper, we present a new wearable system based on an intelligent garment specially designed for online monitoring of fetal movements, which are usually taken as a key indicator for fetal well-being during pregnancy. This intelligent garment is composed of the following components: (1) a garment carefully designed for enhancing pregnant women’s comfort and increasing measured signal quality, (2) a network of sensors integrated into the right positions of the garment, (3) a microcontroller also integrated into the garment, permitting to merge and analyze data measured from these sensors and (4) an Android application connected to the garment, allowing the mother to visualize key information related to her baby’s health. Moreover, in the frame of the wearable system, this garment is connected to both the wearer’s smartphone which makes basic diagnosis on fetal well-being (local decision support system) and a medical expert system on the cloud computing platform with which clinicians can make advanced medical diagnosis. In this wearable system, the techniques of artificial intelligence have been used for extracting relevant features of fetal movements and supporting medical decisions of clinicians. Different from the existing wearable systems, both the electronic/signal issues and textile/garment design have been fully taken into account in the proposed intelligent garment and the capability of accurate fetal movement monitoring has been further enhanced by the well-designed algorithms.

Sounding out solutions: using SONAR to connect participants with relevant healthcare resources.

This article outlines a scalable system developed by the All of Us Research Program's Genetic Counseling Resource to vet a large database of healthcare resources for supporting participants with health-related DNA results. After a literature review of established evaluation frameworks for health resources, we created SONAR, a 10-item framework and grading scale for health-related participant-facing resources. SONAR was used to review clinical resources that could be shared with participants during genetic counseling. Application of SONAR shortened resource approval time from 7 days to 1 day. About 256 resources were approved and 8 rejected through SONAR review. Most approved resources were relevant to participants nationwide (60.0%). The most common resource types were related to support groups (20%), cancer care (30.6%), and general educational resources (12.4%). All of Us genetic counselors provided 1161 approved resources during 3005 (38.6%) consults, mainly to local genetic counselors (29.9%), support groups (21.9%), and educational resources (21.0%). SONAR's systematic method simplifies resource vetting for healthcare providers, easing the burden of identifying and evaluating credible resources. Compiling these resources into a user-friendly database allows providers to share these resources efficiently, better equipping participants to complete follow up actions from health-related DNA results. The All of Us Genetic Counseling Resource connects participants receiving health-related DNA results with relevant follow-up resources on a high-volume, national level. This has been made possible by the creation of a novel resource database and validation system.

Digitizing operating theater data in resource-limited settings: Understanding surgical care delivery post-implementation at Tanzanian referral hospital.

Digitizing surgical data infrastructure is critical for policymakers to make informed decisions. The implementation of the first web-based operating theater (OT) recordings at Muhimbili Orthopedic Institute (MOI) represents significant advancements in data management for Tanzania. This study aims to share post-platform implementation outcomes, challenges, and insights gained offering guidance to settings facing similar data repository challenges. In July 2023, after training clinicians, the platform was deployed at MOI operating theaters (OTs) to facilitate prospective data entry following procedures, ensuring timely updates of perioperative outcomes. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with key stakeholders to gather insights into the platform's functionality and efficient data management systems. We presented data from August 2023 to February 2024 along with platform insights. Over 4449 procedures were conducted, comprising 1321 emergencies and 3128 electives, with orthopedics/trauma accounting for the majority (3606). Trauma-related emergencies (921) predominate among interventions. General anesthesia was prevalent; 60.56% in emergencies and 44.51% in electives. Orthopedics/trauma utilized 90.91% of assigned operating days in electives, while neurosurgery utilized 93.39% (p<0.011). The cancellation rate was 7.5%, primarily due to emergency interferences (32%). Of procedures, 96.76% were discharged, while 2.81% died. Challenges encountered during platform implementation included securing local support, integrating technology, and navigating administrative adjustments. Lessons learned emphasized continuous communication for stakeholder buy-in and training for platform familiarity. The web-based OT recordings at MOI succeeded with local support and showed promise for wider scalability. To ensure sustainability, ongoing follow-up, monitoring of platform functionality, local funding establishment, and strengthening global partnerships are recommended.

Evaluasi Hasil Pembangunan Penampungan Air Minum Masyarakat Desa Silima Banua Umbunasi Kecamatan Ulu Idanotae Kabupaten Nias Selatan

Access to clean water in Silima Banua Village is a quite complex problem. The government then carried out construction of community drinking water reservoirs. After construction was completed, research was carried out on drinking water reservoirs. This research examines the impact of the construction of drinking water reservoirs on the availability of clean water, public health and the quality of infrastructure in Silimabanua Umbunasi Village, South Nias Regency. Data was collected through surveys, interviews, and field observations to analyze changes in access to clean water before and after development, its impact on public health, and the physical quality of water reservoirs. The research results show a significant increase in the availability of clean water after construction, which positively affects public health. Apart from that, the physical quality of the water reservoir is assessed as meeting established standards. Community participation, local government support, and drinking water quality were also identified as important factors in the success of this project.

Understanding and using experiences of social care to guide service improvements: translating a co-design approach from health to social care.

Local authorities need to find new ways of collecting and using data on social care users' experiences to improve service design and quality. Here we draw on and adapt an approach used in the healthcare improvement field, accelerated experience-based co-design, to see if it can be translated to social care. We use loneliness support as our exemplar. To understand how loneliness is understood and experienced by members of the public and characterised by social care and voluntary sector staff; to identify service improvements around loneliness support; to explore whether accelerated experience-based co-design is effective in social care; and to produce new resources for publication on Socialcaretalk.org. Discovery phase: in-depth interviews with a diverse sample of people in terms of demographic characteristics with experience of loneliness, and 20 social care and voluntary staff who provided loneliness support. Production of a catalyst film from the public interview data set. Co-design phase: exploring whether the accelerated experience-based co-design approach is effective in one local authority area via a series of three workshops to agree shared priorities for improving loneliness support (one workshop for staff, another for people with experience of local loneliness support, and a third, joint workshop), followed by 7-monthly meetings by two co-design groups to work on priority improvements. A process evaluation of the co-design phase was conducted using interviews, ethnographic observation, questionnaires and other written material. Accelerated experience-based co-design demonstrated strong potential for use in social care. Diverse experiences of participants and fuzzy boundaries around social care compared to health care widened the scope of what could be considered a service improvement priority. Co-design groups focused on supporting people to return to pre-pandemic activities and developing a vulnerable passenger 'gold standard' award for taxi drivers. This work generated short-term 'wins' and longer-term legacies. Participants felt empowered by the process and prospect of change, and local lead organisations committed to take the work forward. Using an exemplar, loneliness support, that does not correspond to a single pathway allowed us to comprehensively explore the use of accelerated experience-based co-design, and we found it can be adapted for use in social care. We produced recommendations for the future use of the approach in social care which include identifying people or organisations who could have responsibility for implementing improvements, and allowing time for coalition-building, developing trusted relationships and understanding different perspectives. COVID-19 temporarily affected the capacity of the local authority Project Lead to set up the intervention. Pandemic work pressures led to smaller numbers of participating staff and had a knock-on effect on recruitment. Staff turnover within Doncaster Council created further challenges. Exploring the approach using a single pathway, such as assessing eligibility for care and support, could add additional insights into its transferability to social care. Analisis Framing Pemberitaan Online Amsakar Achmad sebagai Calon Walikota Batam Potensial pada Media Online Batampos.co.id dan Batamnews.co.id

This study aims to identify and analyze the framing used by BatamPos.co.id and BatamNews.co.id in their coverage of Amsakar Achmad as a candidate for Mayor of Batam, compare the framing employed by these two media outlets, and assess the impact of such framing on public perception. This qualitative research utilizes framing analysis based on framing theory. Primary data consists of news articles from BatamPos.co.id and BatamNews.co.id published during the period of May-June 2024. Secondary data is derived from literature related to framing theory and previous studies. Data collection was conducted through purposive sampling, and analysis was performed by identifying main themes, categorizing the news coverage, and evaluating the impact of framing on public perception. The analysis reveals that the framing of news about Amsakar Achmad on BatamPos.co.id tends to emphasize strong political support, popularity, and Amsakar’s concrete visions and programs. In contrast, BatamNews.co.id focuses more on Amsakar’s direct interactions with the public, local community support, and political communication. Both media construct a positive image of Amsakar, albeit with different approaches. BatamPos.co.id creates the perception that Amsakar is a strong candidate with solid political backing and a clear plan for Batam’s progress, while BatamNews.co.id portrays Amsakar as a leader who is close to the people, adaptive, and collaborative. This research provides insights into how media framing can influence public perception of political candidates.

A general procedure for evaluating models and ensemble Support Vector Regression

In practice, we may want to discover if there is a relationship between a response variable as a function of the predictor variables. Multiple linear regression (MLR) is a popular tool for such purpose. When the relationship is nonlinear, nonparametric regression methods such as local linear regression, smoothing splines, and support vector regression (SVR) provide flexible alternatives to MLR. How do we compare the performance of these methods and choose an appropriate one for use? In this research, we propose a general procedure to evaluate the performance of different regression methods for use in large data. We also propose an ensemble SVR for regression analysis. The proposed methods are applied to address research questions using the Research and Development Survey, conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics.

The measurement, level, and influence of resource allocation efficiency in universities: empirical evidence from 13 “double first class” universities in China

China’s higher education system is shifting from quantitative expansion to connotative development to advance its quality. Since 2015, Chinese governments have been implementing a strategic policy for higher education called “double first-class”, which aims to promote a number of Chinese top universities to construct world-class universities or to establish world-class disciplines. “Double first-class” universities have received a large amount of educational resources through this policy. Taking advantage of resources efficiently is an important element in promoting the development of higher quality higher education. However, research on resource allocation in China’s “double first-class” universities is incomplete. Current research has not clarified the level of resource allocation efficiency or the factors affecting China’s “double first-class” universities. With the help of the superefficient data envelopment analysis (DEA)-Malmquist–Tobit model, this study actively explores the current status of the resource allocation efficiency of China’s “double first-class” universities to fill this gap in the field. Specifically, the development level and change trend of the resource allocation efficiency of 13 “double first-class” universities in China from 2015 to 2019 were measured with the help of the superefficient DEA-Malmquist model. The internal and external factors affecting the resource allocation efficiency of “double first-class” universities are also analysed with the help of the Tobit model. The overall level of resource allocation efficiency of “double first-class” universities is high, but the internal variability is large. From the perspective of efficiency decomposition, it is found that both technical efficiency change (EFch) and technical progress efficiency (TEch) play important roles in improving the total factor productivity (TFP) of resource allocation. Compared with TEch, EFch plays a more significant pulling role. This study confirms that the factors affecting resource allocation efficiency are complex. Among them, the regional economic environment, faculty title structure, and degree of international exchange have significant roles in promoting the resource allocation efficiency of “double first-class” universities, but local financial support and the time of policy implementation have certain negative effects.

Growth Acceleration Strategy Sharia Regional Development Banks (BPD) In Indonesia

This study aims to formulate the core problem by choosing what is the best strategic alternative that can be taken by Islamic business units to accelerate the growth of the Islamic banking industry. By exploring aspects of internal and external problems. Then the solution from internal and external of various acceleration strategies based on expert opinion related to the phenomenon of the researcher's problem. This research methodology is descriptive qualitative with a quantitative approach and research using ANP (Analytic Network Process) analysis tools. In this study using experts totaling 5 people consisting of academics, practitioners and regulatory experts. The results of this study indicate that: 1). There are two main problems, namely external and internal problems. The most prioritized problem in determining the acceleration strategy is the external problem with an average combined value of 53%, while for the W (Rater Agreement) value of all respondents is 0.36. The most prioritized external problem is the problem of local government support with an average value of 35% with a Rater Agreement of all respondents of 0.64, while the priority problem in internal problems is the problem of capital. 2) for the most prioritized solution, namely the external solution with a combined average value of 54%, while for the W (Rater Agreement) value of all respondents is 1. In the most prioritized external solution, namely local government support, the W (Rater Agreement) value is 0.84. With an average value of 35%. 3. The most prioritized strategy is conversion with an average value of 26%, while for the marger, spin off and acquisition strategies it is around 25%, with a W (Rater Agreement) value of 0.46, meaning that the answers of the respondents have moderate agreement.

Patient participation-18 months of patient and staff perspectives in kidney care: A mixed methods study addressing the effects of facilitating staff person-centredness.

Patient participation should encapsulate the individual's resources and needs, though such standards remain rationed for people living with a long-term health concern like kidney failure. To illustrate what patient participation signified to patients and staff in kidney care, and whether an agreed or disagreed conceptualisation occurred over time, evaluating the influence of two study-specific interventions to facilitate more person-centred participation. By convergent mixed methods design across 9 units in Sweden, we repeated the following data collection at 3 time points over 18 months: semistructured interviews with patients and staff (n = 72), and structured reviews for accounts of participation in patient records (n = 240). Data were subjected to content analysis and descriptive statistics, respectively. The outcomes were appraised for changes over time besides the interventions to enhance attention to patients' participation: a clinical tool and guidance distributed to management, and additional local support, respectively. Both patients and staff described patient participation as a comprehension of the disease and its management in everyday life. Yet, patients accentuated participation as one's experiences being recognised, and mutual knowledge exchange. Instead, staff emphasised the patients managing their treatment. The health records primarily represented what staff do to support their notion of patient participation. No influence of the interventions was noted, but what signified patient participation was maintained over time. Both patients and staff stress the importance of patient participation, although they focus on different elements. Further person-centred conduct warrants a shared conceptualisation and strategies addressing and scaffolding patients' preferences and means.

The generation of support for 3D models toward 3D printing is a highly challenging task that is of great need in many additive manufacturing processes. In this work, we explore the use of multiresolution geometric lattices to generate support with controlled contact locations. That is, with bounds on the maximal distance between adjacent local support points. A variety of end-user controls over the synthesized support are provided, such as the angular slopes in the model that are provided with support and/or controls on the dimensions and sizes of the support lattice tiles. These controls are augmented with the option of an automated optimization via a direct link to analysis. We demonstrate this proposed lattice approach for support synthesis on several 3D models of different types.
