Comparative Study of the Philosophical Meaning of “Rumah Gadang Ukiran Cino” Carvings and its Implementation in Minangkabau People's Life

Rumah Gadang refers to a traditional house belonging to the Minangkabau people, known for its distinctive Gonjong roof and intricate flora and fauna carvings. These carvings are rich in symbolic motifs and hold valuable life lessons for the Minangkabau people. However, a unique variation of Rumah Gadang exists in Koto Tangah Simalanggang, Lima Puluh Kota district. It is dubbed the Rumah Gadang Ukiran Cino, it features Chinese-style carvings with distinct techniques and colors. This research uses a qualitative descriptive-analytical research method that aims to understand the philosophical meanings behind the carving motifs on the Rumah Gadang Ukiran Cino through a comparative study with the original carving motifs on the initial type of The Rumah Gadang house. Peculiarly, the Chinese carving motifs in the Rumah Gadang Ukiran Cino share the same fundamental meanings as the primary Minangkabau motifs, which allows them to still serve as a valuable guide for the social life of the residents of Minangkabau. The Patterns of Rural-to-Urban Reclassification in West Sumatra Province

Abstract Indonesia is undergoing rapid urbanization, with half its population living in urban areas. A significant rural-to-urban reclassification characterizes this phenomenon. This study investigates the reclassification pattern of rural-to-urban in West Sumatra Province from 2010 to 2020. The findings reveal the patterns of urban expansion: 1) contiguous expansion of urban areas within regencies, 2) urban area expansion in urban fringe of municipalities, 3) emergence of new dispersed urban areas in regencies, and 4) formation of contiguous urban corridors connecting urban centers in the BUKAPALIPATAR region (Bukittinggi, Agam, Payakumbuh, Limapuluh Kota, Padang Panjang, and Tanah Datar). Urbanization in rural regions has significantly contributed to urbanization in West Sumatra Province. Consequently, spatial planning at the provincial and regency levels should consider this urban reclassification trend by focusing policies and programs on infrastructure and urban facilities in urbanized rural regions.

Analysis of Income and Costs in Tobacco Processing Based on Sales Methods in Nagari Baruah Gunuang, Limapuluh Kota Regency

The area of tobacco land in West Sumatra Province, especially in Limapuluh Kota Regency, experienced a quite drastic decline, reaching 66.6% in the period 2022 and 2023. One of the causes declining land is related to prices and income. Low prices and income can be caused by different marketing methods between farmers. Therefore, the research aims to measure income and costs of tobacco processing based on marketing methods. The data analysis method in this research uses descriptive analysis and the Independent T Test. Descriptive analysis aims to describe the costs of processing chopped tobacco, obstacles and factors that influence farmers to sell chopped and spread tobacco. Meanwhile, the t test was carried out to see whether there was a difference in income between farmers who sold chopped and spread. The research results show that farmers' obstacles in processing chopped tobacco are dependence on sunlight, long processing time, and high processing costs. Meanwhile, the factors that influence farmers to sell expanse tobacco are that it is easy and practical, easy to sell, and requires money immediately. In terms of income, there is a significant difference between farmers who sell chopped and farmers who sell overlay. There is a difference in income of IDR 10,132,630/ha/planting season or 37%.

Peran Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam terhadap Pengamalan Ibadah Shalat Wajib Peserta Didik di SDN 02 Maek Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota

The aim of this research is to find out how Islamic Religious Education teachers at SDN 02 Maek, Limapuluh Kota Regency contribute to the implementation of mandatory student prayers. Data was collected for this research using qualitative descriptive methodology through observation, interviews and documentation. Even though elementary school learning hours are limited to performing midday prayers in congregation at PAI schools, teachers still carry out their role in helping students perform obligatory prayers, according to research findings. This is what happened to the Islamic Religious Education Teacher at SDN 02 Maek. At SDN 01 Maek, PAI professors participate in student prayer in several ways, including: The instructor provides information about prayer and applies it to students' actual situations. Islamic Religious Education Teachers convey information by connecting what they have learned so far with what students already know. Religious Education in Islam Teachers inspire students to participate in obligatory prayers by providing examples and inspiration regarding the importance of doing so. Religious Education in Islam By requiring children to pray every day at every school level, teachers provide direction and guidance. Religious Education in Islam Teachers educate by encouraging students to understand the meaning of each movement in prayer. Teaching the Islamic faith Instructors work with parents of students. Religious Education in Islam Instructors assess their students' ability to perform the required prayers.

Diseminasi dan Adopsi Inovasi Pupuk Bioorganik di Tingkat Petani Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota

Lima Puluh Kota Region is one of regions in West Sumatra is known for its centers of food crops such as corn, peanuts, sweet potatoes, and paddy. Farmers must be able to optimize the land so that production and productivity of food crop can be increased. The optimization of land in this region can be done by eco-friendly agriculture, such as using bio-organic fertilizer technology. The objective of this research is to identify the rate of dissemination and acceptance of bio-organic fertilizer innovation in Lima Puluh Kota Region Farmers. The research method used a census with the number of respondents are 70 farmers. To describe research variables used descriptive statistical analysis with frequency table. The level of dissemination in this research is measured easy-to-understand information, information relevance, recipients of information. The results of the research are the dissemination rate belongs to the highest category with the score 3.5 and the adoption rate in the higher category with the score 3.5. The Relationship between the Tutor's Andragogy Approach and the Activeness of Package C Learners at PKBM Uhibbu Ummi Kab. Lima Puluh Kota

This study is motivated by the low learning activity of the learning communities in participating in the learning process of the PKBM Uhibbu Ummi Kab. Lima Puluh Kota. Researchers suspect that the cause of the low learning activity in learning communities may be due to the lack of application of the andragogic approach by tutors. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the use of andragogic approaches, descriptions of active learning, and the relationship between the two. This type of study is a correlative descriptive quantitative research. The research population was students of class XI and XII Package C who met the criteria of 37 people and the entire population was used as respondents. The data collection technique is survey-based using survey-based data collection tools. The data analysis method in this study uses the formula for percent and product moments. Results of this study indicate that: (1) the use of the tutor's andragogy approach is still low, (2) community learning activities are still low, and (3) there is a significant relationship between the tutor's andragogy approach and the learning activities of Package C residents at PKBM Uhibbu Ummi Kab. Lima Puluh Kota.

Introduction of Forage Feed Processing Technology for Cows in the Damang Saiyo Farmer Group

The Damang Saiyo Farmer Group is one of the farmer groups located in Batu Balang Village, Harau District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. This group is quite active, especially in the agricultural sector. Most of the group members are active in agriculture, such as planting rice and gardening. However, there are also group members who raise livestock such as cows. Raising cattle for group members is a side activity and as family savings. Supporting natural resources such as empty land, fertile soil and easy access to green fodder in the form of grass and agricultural waste are supporting factors for raising cattle. The problems found in the Damang Saiyo Farmer Group are the lack of community knowledge about green fodder and never having processed green fodder from agricultural waste such as straw. So far, straw has not been optimally utilized as cattle feed.

Geographic Analysis of Distribution and Development of Goat Farms

This study investigates the distribution and development of goat farms in Limapuluh Kota District with two main objectives: (a) to map the spatial distribution and development areas of goat farms, and (b) to enhance the capacity of the goat population within the district. Spatial analysis was conducted using ArcGIS 10.9, Location Quotient, and Shift Share Analysis to identify key areas for goat farm distribution and development. The capacity of livestock populations was evaluated through the CIRP method using Microsoft Excel, based on potential land resources. Secondary data from 2017 to 2021 on goat farm production was sourced from the Livestock and Animal Health Service Office and BPS Limapuluh Kota. Results indicated that goat farms are primarily concentrated in the Harau, Suliki, and Bukit Barisan Districts, while the Mungka, Payakumbuh, Guguak, Lareh Sago Halaban, and Kapur Sembilan Districts are identified as development areas. The Situjuh Limo Nagari, Luak, Akabiluru, and Pangkalan Koto Baru Districts are classified as consolidation areas, and the Gunuang Omeh District serves as a supporting area. The analysis highlights that 13 districts have potential for boosting the goat population, whereas Situjuh Limo Nagari and Guguak are categorized in the low group due to their goat population being below the threshold of 200 LU.

Upaya Pencegahan Hipertensi Melalui Program ‘MARI GASI’ di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Pangkalan

Hypertension or high blood pressure is one of the significant health problems in the world, including in Indonesia. The prevalence of hypertension in Lima Puluh Kota Regency in 2022 reached 15% or 10,688 out of 70,250 people who took blood pressure measurements. However, only 627 people (11.8%) took blood pressure measurements and received hypertension services according to standards. Therefore, it is necessary to increase public knowledge about hypertension. This service activity was carried out in September 2023 through the emo-demo method, which expects health promotion efforts through an emotional approach. The service activities were carried out on 37 community members, and it was found that there was an increase in the average score of community knowledge from 51.56 to 90.63. An increase can follow this increase in community knowledge, attitudes, and actions toward efforts to prevent and control hypertension, including the prevention of complications of hypertension in the community.

Gerakan Pemberdayaan Kader PTM Hipertensi dalam Program SIGADIS (Aksi Pencegahan dan Deteksi Hipertensi)

In the Baruah Gunuang Public Health Center area, located in Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra, the prevalence of hypertension continues to rise, with only 14% of hypertension patients regularly seeking medical check-ups in 2022. Additionally, only 69.44% of patients adhere to regular treatment, far below the target of 100%. To address this issue, community awareness must be increased through the Empowerment Movement of Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Hypertension Cadres in the SIGADIS Program (Hypertension Prevention and Detection Action). This program aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of cadres in monitoring and managing hypertension within the community. The program was conducted by the Faculty of Public Health at Andalas University in collaboration with the local health center from September to October 2023. Activities included outreach, training, and health screening involving community members appointed as cadres for hypertension prevention in each village. The results of this program showed an increase in the knowledge and skills of the cadres in hypertension prevention and control, as measured by a 5-point increase in pre-test and post-test scores, with no participants scoring below 80 by the end. This improvement in competence is expected to strengthen the role of cadres in education, early detection, and patient recruitment for hypertension, thereby reducing the prevalence of hypertension in the area. The SIGADIS program serves as a community empowerment model for addressing health challenges related to hypertension, particularly in areas with limited access to healthcare services.

Partial Least Squares Analysis: E-Marketing Orientation Model To Support Strategic Business Performance In The Weaving Industry In The District And City Of Payakumbuh

Weaving is a fabric-making technique whose raw material is fiber or yarn. Weaving is one of the forms of art that not only has aesthetic, but also has functional value in fulfilling daily needs. This study aims to see the effect of e-marketing orientation on strategic business performance mediated by e-trust in the weaving industry in Lima Puluh Kota Regency and Payakumbuh City. This study uses a quantitative approach, analyzed using the SEM-PLS method with a sample size of 36 people. The results showed that e-marketing orientation has a negative and insignificant influence on strategic business performance. E-marketing orientation has a positive and significant influence on e-trust. E-trust has a positive and significant influence on strategic business performance. E- marketing has a positive and significant influence on strategic business performance through the mediating role of e-trust. The implication of this research is that the potential of e-trust with e- marketing is an effective strategy in improving strategic business performance and achieving success in an increasingly competitive digital environment. So it is necessary to have a good understanding of e-marketing technology by paying attention to e-trust aspects and integrating it into marketing and operational strategies to achieve strategic goals.

Balimau Tradition in the Wedding Procession in Nagari Koto Alam, Pangkalan Koto Baru District, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra Province

This study examines the "Balimau Tradition in the Wedding Procession in Koto Alam Village, Pangkalan Koto Baru District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra Province". The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the balimau tradition in the wedding procession in Koto Alam Village and to describe the meaning of the balimau tradition. The theory used in this study is the symbolic interpretative theory of Clifford Geertz. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. Data collection in this study was carried out using observation, interview, and documentation methods. The data analysis technique in this study uses steps including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of this study indicate that the balimau tradition is a bathing tradition carried out by the bride and groom after carrying out the marriage contract, this tradition is carried out during the village barolek event. The implementation of the balimau tradition is to prepare the tools and materials for balimau, the bride and groom are paraded to the river, read prayers, shave the bride's hair, rub the boreh kasai on the bride and groom, rub the bungo kiambai, the bride and groom dive, wash the bride and groom's hair, bathe, use pamanih oil, distribute kotan kuniang, and wash away the remaining materials from the balimau tradition. The meaning contained in the balimau tradition is to cleanse and purify the bride and groom. The tools and materials used in the balimau tradition have meanings that are intended for the good of the bride and groom.

Community Empowerment Through Super Ganepo Umkm in Jorong Padang Kandi, Nagari VII Koto Talago, Guguak District, Lima Puluh District

This research discusses "Community Empowerment through Super Ganepo UMKM in Jorong Padang Kandi, Nagari VII Koto Talago, Guguak District, Limapuluh Kota Regency". The aim of this research is to describe the role of Super Ganepo UMKM in the community economy and the forms of community empowerment that occur in Jorong Padang Kandi, Nagari VII Koto Talago, Guguak District, Limapuluh Kota Regency. The theory used in this research is Chambers' empowerment theory. The method used is a qualitative method, with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, literature study and documentation. The results of this research show that it started with the success of one of the people who tried to create a food called Ganepo. This success was well received by the community, whose presence is currently increasing through empowerment. Empowerment occurs not only from community to community but there is a role for the government in it, such as facilitating the business to become a Super Ganepo UMKM as well as providing training and providing tools to improve Super Ganepo UMKM. Currently, the existence of Super Ganepo UMKM has a very important role in the social and economic aspects of the community in Jorong Padang Kandi in facilitating interaction in the empowerment process, equality for each member of the group, reducing unemployment rates, providing employment opportunities and jobs in increasing community welfare and improving quality. society's life in a better direction.

The Relationship of Toothbrushing Knowledge and Gingival Tissue Condition in Class VII and VIII Students of SMP Negeri 1 Payakumbuh Limapuluh Kota District

A person's low knowledge about health can be a predisposing factor for the emergence of a disease. Knowledge is a cognitive domain that influences a person's health attitudes and behavior, especially actions to prevent and cure disease. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between toothbrushing knowledge and the condition of gingival tissue in students of class VII and VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Payakumbuh District, Limapuluh Kota Regency. The research method used is quantitative with a cross sectional research design. The population of this research is students of class VII and VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Payakumbuh District. The sampling technique used Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling technique and inclusion criteria technique so that the sample was 150 people. The research was carried out by filling out a knowledge questionnaire and examining the gingival index. The data analysis used is univariate and bivariate analysis. The research results showed that students' toothbrushing knowledge had good criteria at 29.3%, adequate criteria at 49.3% and inadequate criteria at 21.3%. The condition of the gingival tissue is healthy criteria 8%, mild inflammation 77.3%, moderate inflammation 13.3% and severe inflammation 1.3%. The Chi-square test results obtained a p-value of 0.027 < 0.05. The conclusion of the research is that there is a significant relationship between knowledge of brushing teeth and the condition of gingival tissue in junior high school students. It is recommended for students to increase their knowledge about brushing their teeth by looking for more sources of information about dental and oral health, brushing their teeth twice a day in the morning after breakfast and at night before going to bed and regularly checking with dental and oral health services once every 6 months.

Faktor - Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Peran Dinas Perindustrian Dan Tenaga Kerja Dalam Meningkatkan Kapasitas IKM “Kelompok Tani Mutiara” Nagari Labuah Gunuang Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota

This study was conducted to identify the factors affecting the Department of Industry and Manpower in enhancing the capacity of SMEs within the Mutiara Farmer Group in Nagari Labuah Gunuang, Lareh Sago Halaban District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. The study employs qualitative research with a descriptive method. Data validity in this research is tested using source and method triangulation techniques. The findings indicate that the main hindering factors include, lack of human resources, and low participation of SME members as well as limited cooperation with palm sugar farmers, while the main supporting factor is the adequate production facilities.

Religiositas dan Penyesuaian Psikologis Ibu Rumah Tangga Selama Pandemi COVID-19

The covid 19 pandemic has a great influence on the psychological condition of individuals, especially housewives. So that good psychological adjustment is needed. The study aims to determine the relationship between religiosity and psychological adjustment in housewives during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling techniques with subjects as many as 385 housewives in Limapuluh Kota district. Data collection using 2 research instruments, namely the scale of religiosity from Fetzer and the scale of psychological adjustment compiled by referring to De Vito's theory. The results showed that there was a relationship between religiosity and psychological adjustment in housewives with a correlation coefficient value of 0.318 with a significance level of p< 0.001 with a contribution to psychological adjustment of 10.1%. Psychological adjustment in housewives can be improved through religiosity.

Pemetaan Daya Saing Produk Industri Kreatif di Sumatera Barat

This research aims to determine the level of economic competitiveness through competitive sectors based on shift-share analysis, leading sectors based on Location Quotient analysis, creative industry mapping, and creative industry product potential in West Sumatra. This research is field research using survey methods. The approach method uses a quantitative and qualitative descriptive approach. The research results show that based on the results of the shift-share analysis there are seven competitive sectors, namely wholesale and retail trade sector, followed by construction, educational services, mining and quarrying, government administration, provision of accommodation and food and drink, services others, while tourism has not been able to compete. Based on the results of the Location Quotient analysis, there are 13 basic and superior business sectors, and the tourism sector which is among the most basic or superior sectors in West Sumatra. The results of mapping the creative industries in West Sumatra showed that Tanah Datar is the area with the most creative workers. Most of the creative industry potential in culinary businesses and is located in Tanah Datar, Pesisir Selatan, Payakumbuh, Padang Panjang, South Solok, Solok, Sinjunjung, Limapuluh Kota, Dharmasraya, Pariaman Districts.

Pemberdayaan Usaha Mikro dan Kecil (UMK) oleh Dinas Perdagangan Koperasi dan UMKM Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota dan Pengaruhnya Terhadap Kinerja UMK

This research is motivated by the author's observations which show that there are still many MSEs who face various problems in running their businesses. This research aims to find out how empowerment is carried out by the Limapuluh Kota Regency Cooperative Trade and MSME Service and to find out the impact of this empowerment on the performance of MSEs that have taken part in the empowerment provided. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. And there were 7 informants in this study. The results of this research show that the empowerment provided by the Limapuluh Kota Regency Cooperative Trade and MSME Service is in the form of training, including product improvement training, financial managerial training, marketing digitalization training, technical guidance on business licensing, entrepreneurship training and MSE literacy to obtain certification. halal. And the empowerment provided influences the performance of MSEs which results in an increase in sales turnover from the previous year.

Studi Fisika Tanah pada Budi Daya Tembakau (Nicotiana tabacum L) di Berbagai Kemiringan Lahan

The percentage of slope classes on a land has an impact on changes in soil physics. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the physical properties of soil planted with tobacco on various slopes in Kenagarian Situjuah Batua, Situjuah Limo Nagari District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. The method used in this study was a survey; samples were taken purposively based on slope classes at slopes 8-15%, 15–25%, and 25–45% at depths of 0–20 cm and 20–40 cm. From each slope 3 repetitions were taken. The results showed that there were changes in soil physics properties in each slope class with the dominant texture of sandy clay loam. Organic matter was classified as high to low (18.77–3.63%), low soil buld density (0.66–0.34 g/cm3), and total pore space was classified as high (75.27–86.87%). The permeability of the soil was classified as very fast to somewhat slow (34.88–0.78 cm/h), and the aggregate stability index was somewhat steady to less steady (60.89–45.98%). It is recommended that tobacco farmers to make terrracing and cut the length of the slope so that it does not lose organic matter. Keywords: soil physical properties, slope level, tobacco plantation

Enhancing Women's Capacity in Funeral Management: A Community Service Study in Lima Puluh Kota Regency

This community service aims to enhance the capacity of women in managing funeral rites in Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra. Through a series of training sessions conducted in six locations, this program is designed to empower women to be more confident and skilled in performing funeral management tasks according to Islamic law. The methods include lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice, enabling participants to understand and practically apply the necessary skills. The results of the community service show a significant improvement in the participants' technical skills and confidence, as well as a positive change in women's active participation in religious activities within the community. Additionally, this training successfully shifted societal perceptions of women's roles, recognizing them as capable and important in funeral management. In conclusion, this program not only contributes to women's empowerment but also to the development of a more inclusive and empowered community. The program has the potential to be replicated in other regions with similar cultural contexts, thereby broadening its impact on women's empowerment and community capacity building.
