WIRELESS COMMUNICATION FOR UNDERWATER CRAFT USING LI-FI TECHNOLOGY

Data transmission is generally done with the help of a network. In many applications such as underwater communication, environmental monitoring etc., the wireless communication is necessary because of the problems associated with installation and maintenance of the traditional wired network. Authors have proposed the application of LI-FI technology for underwater communication. The proposed system design is presented in this paper. The present underwater communication systems, are based on the electromagnetic, acoustic and optical signals. To overcome the disadvantages of these systems, the LI-FI based communication system is proposed by the authors for underwater communication.

LED AND LIGHT TECHNOLOGIES IN DATA TRANSMISSION

The article deals with the main issues of organizing information transmission systems using modern light technologies. An assessment of the role of LED lighting technology, in particular, LEDs, in the organization of Light Fidelity technology as an innovative technology for wireless optical data transmission is given. An urgent task is to identify the most effective LED light sources for organizing Li-Fi networks. The main provisions on the use of LED light sources for the effective operation of Li-Fi networks are given. The main characteristics and areas of application of Li-Fi technology are analyzed. Since the main component of the Li-Fi system is an LED, the main types and characteristics of modern LEDs, including super-bright LEDs, are considered. Also considered are the features and possibilities of using RGBW-LEDs as more optimal in a number of indicators for organizing Li-Fi networks.

Visible Light Fidelity Technology: Survey

Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) is particularly popular today. Every place has hotspots to access the internet via Wi-Fi, including homes, offices, colleges, and other public places. This increased number of users, and hence the use of bandwidth, has led to radio spectrum congestion. Thus, in the year of 2011, Light-Fidelity (Li-Fi) was introduced, which applies a visible light region for data transmission, to solve this radio crisis problem. This visible part of the spectrum was 10,000 times big compared to the part utilized in the Wi-Fi radio. Furthermore, Li-Fi was a sub-set of Visible Light Communication (VLC), using Light-Emitting Diode (LED) bulbs for transmitting data utilizing light-medium. This paper reviews the differences between Li-Fi technology and wireless types. It Also focuses on the architecture, components, functioning, modulation technologies, and applications of Li-Fi. Bio Parameters Monitoring System for Sea Researchers using LiFi

Different types of health monitoring systems are now available in the market. We are using them as a part of our day-to-day life to analyze health conditions. In the case of sea researchers and scuba divers, the medium they are working is water. The health difficulties are more inside the water. So there is a need to develop a health monitoring system for sea researcher’s/scuba divers to analyze their health condition frequently to ensure their safety. The proposed work uses LiFi technology as the communication method to transmit and receive corresponding bio parameter values. This work aims to provide a harmless wireless health monitoring system that will provide maximum efficiency inside the water.

A Survey on Visible Light Communication Standards

With the rapid increase of high-fidelity audio, video, and multimedia traffic in the new era of 5G and beyond, the current Wi-Fi solution exhibits more and more limitations. Crowded spectrum is creating realistic bottlenecks in the deployment of Wi-Fi, some of which can be well alleviated by the Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) technology. High transmission rate, wide bandwidth, no electromagnetic interference, and no health hazards have made Li-Fi an attractive technique for future smallcell communication. The emerging standardization of visible light communication (VLC) facilitates the acceleration of the development of Li-Fi technology and will eventually deliver real-world Li-Fi deployments. This article overviews the recent progress on VLC standardization and presents the mainstream VLC standards created by different standardization organizations.

Li-Fi Technology Based Patient Health Monitoring and Tracking System

Generally, today in this busy & bustling fast moving world, everybody is occupied in his or her own part of life. It is to be noted that health and patient monitoring is a very tedious job to be done. They have to be traced, tracked & monitored continuously at all times. They have to keep monitoring the patients, who are admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) and other observation units, when these patients are in serious illness conditions and can’t be said what happens in next instance to them. There are hundreds and thousands of diseases which are threatening the population all over the world which is actually a mental pressure & alarming situation to all. The wellbeing observing framework proposed here keeps specialist constantly refreshed wellbeing data of patient utilizing different sensors used to screen the soundness of patient. It allows doctors to monitor and track a patient over the long distance and to consult others. The efficiency of Li-Fi (light –Fidelity) security and data transmission compared to Wi-Fi

Light-Fidelity (Li-Fi) technology relies directly on visible light communication (VLC) which uses light emitting diodes (LED). The transceiver in this technology has a modification to enable the LED to use light to transmit data. Li-Fi technology is one of the best technologies used in transmitting data for several reasons; the most notable of this is that the transmission of data by this system is limited to the region reached by the light. Consequently, it cannot be leaked outside, and this will not allow hackers and spies to access the data. One of the advantages that Li-Fi technology also the high speed of data transfer provides. The technology relies on the light waves, knowing the frequency of light waves is 10,000 times greater than the frequency of radio waves. In this research, also we will explore several methods by which we can better use Li-Fi including directional lighting, energy efficiency, signal blocking by walls, internal security, high data rate capability, and integrated network capability. Most of the environments, whether the urban environment, the educational environment, the medical environment, the environment of interference of electromagnetic waves, and other environments, become more efficient when replacing the traditional and common communication technologies with Li-fi technology.

Li-fi: Current state, progress and forward projection

Problem: The increase in wireless devices connected to the internet, saturation of the electromagnetic spectrum used by wireless technologies based on current radio frequencies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, among others), new requirements for bandwidth, speeds and energy efficiency for the new generations of telecommunications are the cause of the birth of Li-Fi as an alternative and / or complementary technology of wireless telecommunication that is based on the visible light spectrum.
 Objective: The objective of this research is to expose the development of Li-Fi technology in the field of telecommunications, covering it in three main aspects such as the current state of technology, recent advances, and future projections.
 Methodology: Different types of bibliographic sources were used, including research and opinion articles, marketing studies, forums, books, conferences, among others with a publication date of 2012 onwards (some exceptions are found in the references); taking as selection criteria title, authors, date of publication, abstract, results and / or conclusions in relation to the research guidelines (Current Status, Advances and Future Projection of Li-Fi technology)
 Conclusion: The literature review article manages to highlight the importance of Li-Fi in the new generations of telecommunications of the future and its complementarity with current networks, optimally contextualizing the technology, exposing its advantages and recent advances in technical and commercial aspects as well like its disadvantages and points. weaknesses that should be addressed in the development of this technology in the future

Transfer Data from PC to PC Based on Li-Fi Communication Using Arduino

Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) is a new technology that has been developed in the last few years and still needs more investigation and experiments to prove its perfection to be an alternative solution for wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) technology. Li-Fi utilizes light as a medium of communication instead of traditional radio frequencies as in Wi-Fi. Li-Fi technology has the essential features compared to Wi-Fi, such as its ideal for high-density wireless data coverage in a confined area and reducing radio interferences issues. In this paper, a PC-to-PC wireless data transfer system is proposed based on Li-Fi technology. Data is transmitted from transmitter Pc via the light of an array of high-power white LEDs connected to Arduino UNO. The data is then received on the PC receiver using a photodiode, connected to another Arduino UNO device, to sense the light and decode it to its original format. This work aims to improve the transmission and reception mechanism by increasing the data bit rate. After experimenting, the evaluation results showed that the data bit rate was improved using the proposed transmission mechanism and reached up to 147 bps with an accuracy of 100%, over 20 cm as a distance between the transmitter and receiver.

Traffic Management with Deployment of Li-Fi Technology

Light Fidelity or commonly known as Li-fi, is an emerging technology that works on the principle of using light as a medium for transferring signals. It is bidirectional and is fully networked wireless communication that focuses on the use of light from light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The system is affluent and can provide connectivity within a larger area with more security, higher data rates and high-speed as compared to Wi-Fi. Apart from that, it relies on the use of visible light communication or infra-red and near-ultraviolet spectrum majorly working on the idea of switching bulbs on and off within nanoseconds. The paper consists of vivid insights about the use of Li-fi as a solution to the excessive traffic congestion in roadways. The paper is further divided into prominent sections that deal in providing an accurate idea about the working and implication of Li-fi technology in the current scenario. Moreover, the paper also proposes various technical standards and modulation that are and will be followed by Li-fi technologies, thereby focusing on its future implication. Apart from that, the main aim of designing the system is to limit traffic congestion and thus, reduce the increasing number of road accident in the present times.

An Experimental study of some Physical properties on Gallium Antimonide Nanocrystals

This study includes preparing Nano-thin films of gallium antimonide (GaSb) and study the physical properties of this films. These films are prepared by using a vacuum evaporation technique with pressure (10−6 Torr). They were deposited on glass substrates. After the preparation process, some of its optical and structural properties, such as (energy gap, optical absorption, AFM, SEM and XRD) were studied. By discussing the results, it was found that the prepared GaSb thin films have worthwhile structural and optical properties. These properties can be used in the preparation and manufacture of infrared devices, laser detectors and photoelectric applications. The distinguished obtained characteristics are of interest to a large number of researchers within the fields of semiconducting materials. The potential applications that could employ GaSb Nano-thin films in their work are infrared devices and wide range applications of detectors and photo electronics. For example, Li-Fi technology, which relies on visible light as a means of transmitting data instead of radio frequencies, in addition to it does not generate any radiation as in Wi-Fi, as it ultimately depends on visible light.

Li-Fi technology: A Era of New Data Transmission

The main focus of this paper is to clarify the concept and working of Li-Fi technology. In present era, wireless communication plays an important role in day to day life. Wifi is the most used wireless technology which transmits data through radio frequencies. However, during multiple accesses WiFi is facing many challenges related to speed, security and efficiency. Also, WiFI emits radio waves which are harmful in hospitals for patients and cannot be used in underground communication and airplanes. These limitations of WiFi are overcome by Li-Fi technology. The term Li-Fi stands for Light Fidelity which uses visible light communication (VLC) to transfer data at high speed. In this paper, a detailed study on Li-Fi technology, its working and future scope is discussed.

The Application of Integral Source Model in The Design of Freeform Optics for Several Multidirectional Light Sources

One of the features of an intelligent transport system is the formation of communication channels between vehicles. Vehicle-to-vehicle communication will help reduce the number of road accidents. Li-Fi technology is considered as a method for communication. Li-Fi uses visible light for data transmission. A single source of radiation may not be sufficient to provide a certain signal level at the receiver, so multiple sources must be used. Also, signal transmission should be in all directions in the horizontal plane. The study addresses the problem of designing optical systems of circular radiation with several multidirectional sources. It proposes the modification of the ray mapping method for the task of designing optical elements for the Li-Fi wireless communication technology between vehicles. Also, it describes the algorithm for calculating optical systems of circular radiation for a signal source and signal receiver. Finally, the results of calculating and virtual prototyping of devices designed by the proposed method.

Visual control and data transmission system by Li-Fi technology for patients in a vegetative state/unresponsive wakefulness syndrome and minimally conscious state

Due to the development of high technologies, there is a need to use computer systems to support the increasingly complex types of human activities. It provides high accuracy and speed of various research and medical examinations. Taking into account the daily workload of doctors in the Intensive Care Unit, remote medical diagnostics systems are being implemented in many referral hospitals to predict the course of diseases. Decision-making is the result of processing certain information, the medical history patients based on the use of accumulated knowledge. Therefore, it can be concluded that automatic and visual control systems make the diagnosis process more accurate and easier. The aim of the work is to develop an optoelectronic system for visual monitoring and data transmission for patients in a coma by Li-Fi technology.

In this project, we present the designs and results of a prototype using the light fidelity (Li-Fi) technology, which is the latest technology that was developed in the last few years, which needs some systematic inquiry on its sustainability for use in the vehicles. Vehicle to vehicle communication is the most effective solution that is available in order to reduce the road accidents. The proposed use of this Li-Fi technology comprises mainly the light- emitting diode (LED) bulbs as the means of connectivity that functions by sending data through the light spectrum as an optical wireless medium for the signal propagation. In fact, the usage of these light emitting diode (LED) eliminates the need of a complex wireless networks and protocols. The designed system ensures a highly-reliable communication between the vehicles so that accidents can be reduced to a greater extent.

An Experimental Assessment of LiFi Data Communication

In this paper, two functional light fidelity real-time testbeds implemented on custom Light fidelity (LiFi) kits are presented. This paper evaluates the use of LiFi technology over differ­ent distances and angular placement of illuminating devices and endpoint transceivers with connectivity locally and to the internet. The objective is to determine if distance or angular positioning in LiFi influence speeds or not. Finally, it aims to contribute to knowledge in the LiFi communication domain. We were limited to developing a customized testbed for wireless optical communication by accessing data in the physical layer via photons. In a lateral dis­tance and angular position, we examined the performance of a laptop with LiFi activated by a 3730 lm LED. The setup evaluated the performance of our design in a downlink and uplink scenario where the transmitter was embedded in the main LED unit and the laptop was used as a photoreceiver. The data rate/kbps, the lateral distance / m, and the angle displacement / θ° were the comparison metrics. The results of the tests show that the transmission of LiFi is not influenced by distance and angular positioning for both downloads and uploads over different distances.

Intrinsic Ultralow-Threshold Laser Action from Rationally Molecular Design of Metal-Organic Framework Materials.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are superior for multiple applications including drug delivery, sensing, and gas storage because of their tunable physiochemical properties and fascinating architectures. Optoelectronic application of MOFs is difficult because of their porous geometry and conductivity issues. Recently, a few optoelectronic devices have been fabricated by a suitable design of integrating MOFs with other materials. However, demonstration of laser action arising from MOFs as intrinsic gain media still remains challenging, even though some studies endeavor on encapsulating luminescence organic laser dyes into the porous skeleton of MOFs to achieve laser action. Unfortunately, the aggregation of such unstable laser dyes causes photoluminescence quenching and energy loss, which limits their practical application. In this research, unprecedently, we demonstrated ultralow-threshold (∼13 nJ/cm2) MOF laser action by a judicious choice of metal nodes and organic linkers during synthesis of MOFs. Importantly, we also demonstrated that the white random lasing from the beautiful microflowers of organic linkers possesses a porous network, which is utilized to synthesize the MOFs. The highly luminescent broad-band organic linker 1,4-NDC, which itself exhibits a strong white random laser, is used not only to achieve the stimulated emission in MOFs but also to reduce the lasing threshold. Such white lasing has multiple applications from bioimaging to the recently developed versatile Li-Fi technology. In addition, we showed that the smooth facets of MOF microcrystals can show Fabry-Perot resonant cavities having a high quality factor of ∼103 with excellent photostability. Our unique discovery of stable, nontoxic, high-performance MOF laser action will open up a new route for the development of new optoelectronic devices.
