Madam, The significance of Big Data Analysis (BDA) in optimizing immunization programmes in Pakistan emerges within the context of global and regional immunization challenges post the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite recovery efforts, a substantial number of children globally remain under-vaccinated, with 14.3 million zero-dose children in 2022.[1] South Asia, primarily India, has shown notable progress, exceeding pre-pandemic coverage levels.[2] In Pakistan, the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) launched in 1978 aims to combat high under-five mortality rates due to vaccine-preventable diseases.[3] However, vaccine coverage remains suboptimal, with only 66% of children aged 12-23 months receiving basic EPI vaccines.[3] This is compounded by reduced doses administered later in schedules, influenced by limited access, awareness gaps, and insufficient vaccinators, especially in rural areas. [3] Big data analytics can help tackle challenges, improve resource allocation, and optimize immunization in Pakistan. The vital role of BDA in optimizing Pakistan's immunization programmes is rooted in its manifold health benefits. BDA aids disease prevention, identifies health risk factors, and enhances healthcare strategies.[4] Amid health emergencies like COVID-19, BDA leverages information technology to fortify health systems, enhancing decision-making, reducing errors, and conserving resources.[4] BDA's dynamic potential is evident. Its predictive tools swiftly pinpoint high-risk patients, streamlining care and elevating healthcare outcomes.[4] BDA draws insights from vast datasets for informed decisions. A recent study conducted in Sindh, increased vaccinator attendance from 44% to 88%, by factoring in results of BDA of Electronic Immunization Registries into their decision making.[5] BDA of antigen administration during accelerated outreach efforts revealed substantial boosts, compared to routine activities.[5] These findings spurred continued efforts in high-risk areas, showcasing BDA's impact in project acceleration and resource optimization.[5] This case highlights BDA's transformative role, enhancing immunization programs through data-driven insights. To harness the potential of BDA in immunization, Pakistan's healthcare system requires a digital overhaul. This entails prioritizing active patient data collection, storage, and analysis on a national scale. Collected data would facilitate targeted vaccination efforts in vulnerable areas. Storing data supports future research and predictive analysis, offering insights into current measures' efficacy and enabling necessary adjustments. A robust data analysis infrastructure, coupled with healthcare professional training, is essential. Cost-effective data security is vital. Digital registries in tertiary care hospitals and rural centres can aid government analysis. This holistic approach seeks to establish a digital healthcare ecosystem, involve the public, and implement data-driven solutions for improved immunization and overall public health in Pakistan.

Multi-index evaluation on reinforcement programs for frame structures based on life cycle theory and time-varying reliability

Under the mandates of economic and environmental sustainability, the consideration of reinforcement engineering must extend beyond mere enhancement effects and short-term project costs. As a long-term engineering activity, reinforcement significantly impacts urban economies and environments. Although extensive research has evaluated the costs or environmental impacts of reinforcement engineering based on the whole life cycle theory, existing studies often focus on single indicators without adequately integrating them with other domains. Using a reinforced concrete frame structure as a case study, this paper develops a combined evaluation decision-making model integrating the Analytic Hierarchy Process for subjective assessment and an enhanced Rough Set method for objective evaluation. This model comprehensively assesses the seismic performance, economic costs, and environmental impacts of various reinforcement strategies. The results indicate that the combined strategy of enlarging column sections and carbon fiber reinforced polymer strengthening beams performs best in seismic performance, long-term economic benefits, and environmental impacts. Grounded in practical projects, this study adjusts the whole life cycle cost model to better align with engineering maintenance realities and introduces Rough Set theory to address deficiencies in objective indicator weighting. This research offers insights and guidance for leveraging information technology in resolving multi-criteria evaluation decision-making challenges in reinforcement engineering solutions.

Assessing digital leadership of junior high school principals

Digital leaders are not necessarily experts in computer programming; rather, they are individuals capable of leveraging information technology to achieve organizational goals in the current era of digitalization. This research analyzes the digital leadership aspects or dimensions of junior high school principals in Sukabumi City, West Java, Indonesia. Specifically, it examines whether the digital leadership of these principals has met the target, is on target, or still falls short in enhancing the digital competence of 21st-century teachers. The study employs a qualitative descriptive design, utilizing interviews and observations as instruments. Data were collected from three junior high schools, involving three principals and nine teachers in Sukabumi City. The qualitative analysis was conducted using Atlas.Ti version 8. The research findings reveal several obstacles in the implementation of digital initiatives, including budget constraints, insufficient digital competence among teachers, and uneven infrastructure, all of which have hindered effectiveness in meeting the targets. Consequently, the study suggests that principal support, increased teacher literacy, and the formation of innovation teams are crucial for effective digital leadership and the successful achievement of school program targets.

ABSTRACT Based on a review and synthesis of literature on Hybrid Business Models (HBMs) and the sharing economy (SE), this study advances a conceptual framework for HBMs in the context of the SE. The study sheds light on key research themes within the domain of HBMs, encompassing value proposition, governance and coordination, resource allocation, sustainability, reputation building, communication channels, and key sharing ecosystem partners. These models integrate elements such as access, platform, and the community-based economy, which are crucial for SE dynamics. This integration represents the best of both approaches, creating a balanced strategy and strengthening overall business operations The managerial implications, including the need for managers to leverage information technology for developments, are identified and outlined.

Scoping review of clinical decision support systems for multiple sclerosis management: Leveraging information technology and massive health data

AbstractBackground and purposeMultiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex autoimmune disease of the central nervous system, with numerous therapeutic options, but a lack of biomarkers to support a mechanistic approach to precision medicine. A computational approach to precision medicine could proceed from clinical decision support systems (CDSSs). They are digital tools aiming to empower physicians through the clinical applications of information technology and massive data. However, the process of their clinical development is still maturing; we aimed to review it in the field of MS.MethodsFor this scoping review, we screened systematically the PubMed database. We identified 24 articles reporting 14 CDSS projects and compared their technical and software development aspects.ResultsThe projects position themselves in various contexts of usage with various algorithmic approaches: expert systems, CDSSs based on similar patients' data visualization, and model‐based CDSSs implementing mathematical predictive models. So far, no project has completed its clinical development up to certification for clinical use with global release. Some CDSSs have been replaced at subsequent project iterations. The most advanced projects did not necessarily report every step of clinical development in a dedicated article (proof of concept, offline validation, refined prototype, live clinical evaluation, comparative prospective evaluation). They seek different software distribution options to integrate into health care: internal usage, “peer‐to‐peer,” and marketing distribution.ConclusionsThis review illustrates the potential of clinical applications of information technology and massive data to support MS management and helps clarify the roadmap for future projects as a multidisciplinary and multistep process.

Growing Technological Relatedness to the ICT Industry and Its Impacts

In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, industries across various sectors are increasingly leveraging information and communication technologies (ICT) to drive innovation and gain a competitive edge. Our study reveals that, as industries become more closely connected to the ICT sector, they experience a significant shift in their innovation processes and outcomes. By analyzing 1.3 million U.S. patents granted between 1981 and 2010, we demonstrate that industries with stronger ties to the ICT sector (i.e., higher “ICT-closeness”) exhibit a greater proportion of ICT technologies in their patent portfolios and enhanced complementarity between ICT and non-ICT patents. Furthermore, ICT-Closeness results in greater innovation efficiency (the number of patents per R&D capital), recombinant creation (the creation of new technological combinations), recombinant reuse (the refinement and reuse of known technological combinations), and the creation of new business models. These findings have important implications for practitioners. Specifically, our research highlights the importance of strategically integrating ICT into their technological innovations. Managers should actively seek opportunities to collaborate with and learn from the ICT sector to enhance their innovative capabilities, create new products, services, and business methods, and ultimately gain a competitive advantage. However, they must also be prepared for the heightened competition that comes with increased ICT-closeness, as it can lead to winner-take-all dynamics and market turbulence.

Enhancing supervision efficiency and satisfaction: Evaluating the impact of the e-monprakerin model on vocational high school apprenticeship monitoring

This study presents a novel approach to addressing the challenges brought about by Industry 4.0 in vocational education, particularly within the context of Indonesia's evolving industrial landscape. With industries increasingly embracing digitalization and automation, traditional apprenticeship supervision methods have struggled to keep pace. In response, this research introduces the e-monPrakerin model, an electronic-based supervision system tailored for vocational high schools (Bahasa: Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan/SMK). Through rigorous evaluation employing a randomized control group pretest-posttest design, the study demonstrates the effectiveness of the e-monPrakerin model compared to conventional methods. Results reveal significant improvements in practicality and user satisfaction, with practicability scores soaring from 41.1% to 81.3% and user satisfaction scores escalating from 31.6% to 84.4% post-implementation. These outcomes underscore the e-monPrakerin model's ability to optimize apprenticeship monitoring, offering a cost-effective, user-friendly, and efficient solution for navigating the complexities of Industry 4.0. By leveraging information technology to bridge the gap between vocational education and industry demands, this research sheds light on the practical implications of digital monitoring solutions. Ultimately, the e-monPrakerin model represents a substantial advancement in vocational education, showcasing the efficacy of technology-driven approaches in enhancing monitoring efficiency and user satisfaction. This contribution adds valuable insights to the field, benefiting educators, policymakers, and stakeholders alike in their efforts to equip the workforce with the skills necessary to thrive in the era of Industry 4.0.

Value Chain Analysis provides a framework for understanding how IT can add value across different stages of the value chain, informing strategic decision-making and resource allocation. Moreover, IT Governance Frameworks, such as COBIT and ITIL, offer guidelines for effective management and governance of IT resources to support strategic objectives. Business Process Reengineering (BPR) is also examined as a methodology for redesigning business processes to align with strategic goals and leverage IT capabilities. Analisis Efektivitas E-Health Menggunakan Metode E-Govqual dan IPA Di Puskesmas Gading Kota Surabaya

E-Health, a public service that leverages Information Technology to enhance the health sector's knowledge base, faces developmental challenges. At Gading Health Center in Surabaya City, dissatisfied assessments of the health center's rating stem from discontent with both services and the e-Health system. Issues include disparities in service time compared to the targeted e-Health Service System queue, as well as variations between online registration times and the actual services provided at the health center. Moreover, human resource factors such as knowledge, experience, and technological skills among Gading Community Health Center staff significantly influence the successful implementation of the e-Health system. This study employs e-GovQual and IPA methods to evaluate the effectiveness of e-Government Implementation, focusing on dimensions like efficiency, trust, reliability, and citizen support. The research findings, analyzing the effectiveness of e-Health at Puskesmas Gading using e-GovQual and IPA methods, lead to the conclusion that the implementation of e-Health at Puskesmas Gading in Surabaya City positively impacts the quality of health services

Can information technology construction alleviate household energy poverty? Empirical evidence from the “broadband China” Pilot Policy

Energy poverty poses a significant challenge to global sustainable development. With the rapid advancement of information technology, understanding its role in alleviating energy poverty holds great practical significance. This paper conducts a case study of the “Broadband China” pilot policy implemented by the Chinese government and utilizes panel data from the China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) over the 2012–2018 period. In a difference-in-differences framework, we empirically investigate the alleviation effects of information technology construction on household energy poverty and its underlying mechanisms. The main findings indicate that (1) information technology construction significantly alleviates household energy poverty and demonstrates a sustained alleviation effect. These results remain valid after a series of robustness tests. (2) Heterogeneity analysis suggests that factors such as the regional economic development level and geographical location distribution can cause varying impacts of information technology on alleviating energy poverty. (3) Mechanism analysis reveals that information technology construction can alleviate household energy poverty through two potential channels: raising residents’ income levels and enhancing their environmental awareness. The conclusions of this paper provide valuable insights into leveraging information technology construction to alleviate energy poverty.

As artificial intelligence, quantum techniques, and brain neuroscience advance, the educational ecosystem is poised for transformative shifts, triggering a revolution in education. Educational technology’s emphasis is no longer confined to leveraging information technology for educational reform alone; it now actively seeks to optimize and innovate the educational ecosystem, creating a sustainable and virtuous cycle of development. Educational technology will shift from technological care to humanistic care, forming a new “cultural view of educational technology” and entering the post educational technology era. The field of educational technology must move beyond a static mindset centered on information technology application and venture into the realm of an innovative educational ecology. During the construction of this new educational ecology, unique theoretical and practical innovation models should be introduced. It is through this proactive approach that the discipline of educational technology can genuinely demonstrate its value and contribute to the “big education discipline’s” establishment and growth. Currently, at present, attention should be paid to the practice of educational informatization. This entails meticulously summarizing novel insights and experiences in educational informationization and digital transformation, discerning underlying development patterns, and elevating them into innovative theories and methodologies. Special attention should be given to breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, exploring the implications of big data models and generative artificial intelligence for education. Furthermore, there is a necessity to expand both the knowledge system and practical applications within the discipline of educational technology.

Exploring the Practice of Enterprise education in Higher education institutions in Information Age

Abstract With the advent of information technology, higher education institutions are urged to elevate the role of enterprise education. This includes a focus on the strategic use of information technology and the platforms that support IT practices, alongside refining the educational and assessment frameworks for enterprise studies. This paper advances enterprise education in higher education institutions by leveraging information technology to enhance the evaluation framework for entrepreneurship and innovation skills. We construct an enterprise education assessment index system and optimize the BP neural network with the ABC algorithm. Additionally, empirical quantitative research utilizing the ABC-BP model explores the effects of enterprise instruction and execution in these institutions. The results of the quantitative analysis show that overall, creativity and enterprise environment are the main factors affecting the implementation of creativity and enterprise (weight 0.722), and there is also a significant correlation between the three aspects of creativity and enterprise awareness (0.134), practice (0.111), and ability. In the percentage of each type of option in the statistics of the effect of the implementation of enterprise education in University X, the percentages of “agree with The total proportion of “agree” and “somewhat agree” is more than half of 70%, indicating that the main body of the survey is more satisfied with the current implementation effect of enterprise education in University X. The effect of the implementation of the University of X is influenced by the degree of knowledge (0.475), the degree of recognition (0.234), etc. which is significant in general. In conclusion, the assessment system for enterprise education in this paper can improve the degree of automation and the teaching effect of creativity and enterprise.

The implementation of this system is designed as a mobile web application, providing visitors with easy access to pertinent information about Nggruput Culinary Tourism. This mobile web-based approach aims to streamline marketing efforts for businesses and enhance public accessibility to comprehensive information about Nggruput Pringsewu Culinary. By employing a mobile web platform, the information system promises to offer a user-friendly interface for both businesses and the public, fostering efficient communication and interaction.
