The purpose of this study was to present how to make the life happier through analyzing the determinants of happiness based on the leisure behavior of leisure sports participants. This study was analyzed using the original data of ’2016 National Leisure Survey’ presented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. For the verification, SPSS 24.0 ver was used and frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were used. As a result of the analysis for the effects of various factors, only the leisure time among the demographic variables in the first stage had a positive effect on happiness. In the second stage, the more leisure time, the lower the participation intensity of leisure sports, the more positive effect on happiness index. In the third stage, the more leisure time, the lower the participation intensity of leisure sports, the higher the leisure satisfaction, the more positive effect on happiness index. In the fourth stage, the higher the leisure cost, the lower the participation intensity of leisure sports, the higher the leisure satisfaction, and the more leisure - oriented lifestyle pursued, the more positive effect was on happiness. It was confirmed that relative influence is more important than the influence of each genetic, environmental, and intentional variables as a determinant of happiness.
