Implementing Inquiry Learning Strategy to Improve Students’ Thinking Ability of SMPN 6 Gunungsitoli in 2023/2024

This research was motivated by initial observations which showed low student learning outcomes, which can be seen based on the average score on exam results, namely 60. The average score is still below the minimum completeness criteria (MCC) set by the school, namely 67, in English subjects. This shows that student learning outcomes in English learning are still low. This research aims to implement inquiry learning strategies in improving students' thinking skills and improving listening skills in English at SMP Negeri 6 Gunungsitoli. This research focuses on finding out the teaching methods used by teachers to improve students' thinking skills, implementation, assessment in learning with research results obtained through student observations in learning activities, questions to improve one of the students' competencies in listening skills, and the researcher's field notes. while carrying out research. The informants for this research were class 8, totaling 7 people. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The results obtained from this research include: 1). Implementation of the learning process using the inquiry method. 2). Observation results showing improvement from the first cycle to the second cycle at the second meeting. 3). Implementation of listening tests for students makes students like learning English and through MCC. The average value presentation obtained is 90%. This shows an increase from cycles I and II student learning motivation through implementing the inquiry learning model in the When I was a child material with an average score of 90% in the very high category. The application of the inquiry learning model can increase students' activeness in learning, improve students' thinking abilities, and increase the completeness of learning outcomes.

Increasing Student Learning Motivation in Mathematics Learning: Literatur Review

Motivation is a crucial factor influencing student performance in the Mathematics learning process. This research aims to identify strategies to enhance student motivation in Mathematics, addressing the common issue of low enthusiasm and reduced classroom activity. The objective is to develop effective teaching methods that increase student perseverance and independent learning in Mathematics. The study applied a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys to measure student motivation levels and qualitative interviews with teachers to explore successful motivational strategies. Data was collected from 200 high school students and 20 Mathematics teachers in Jakarta. Statistical analysis was used to identify significant factors affecting Motivation, while thematic analysis provided insights into effective teaching practices. The results indicate interactive teaching methods, personalized feedback, and real-world problem-solving activities significantly boost student motivation. Students reported higher engagement and better performance when these strategies were implemented. The study concludes that adopting these methods can effectively address low Motivation in Mathematics, improving student outcomes.

Strategi Komunikasi Persuasif Guru dalam Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Siswa

Student motivation is the key to the success of an educational process, with fluctuations in motivation, whether increasing or decreasing, often being an internal factor of the student. However, teachers play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing student motivation. In efforts to increase student motivation, teachers employ persuasive communication to alter the understanding of students experiencing challenges in learning motivation. This study examines the persuasive communication strategies used by teachers at SD Islam Sinar Cendekia BSD to enhance student learning motivation. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and a case study method, data were collected through observations and interviews with teachers. The findings of the study indicate that before implementing persuasive communication, teachers are guided to understand the students' character so that the persuasive message aligns with the students' emotional conditions, which undoubtedly facilitates the teachers in providing examples or analogies to support the persuasive message. Additionally, teachers also align student character with the design and implementation of learning, the outcomes of which reflect the teachers' credibility in applying persuasive communication strategies

MOTIVATION FOR STUDENTS LEARNING ENGLISH ON DIGITAL MEDIA DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AT EIGHT GRADE OF MTs MUHAMMADIYAH 3 MASARAN

The objectives of this research were followed: 1) Implementation digital media forstudents’ eight grade to learn English at MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Masaran and 2) motivatethe students’ eight grade to learn English using digital media at MTs Muhammadiyah 3Masaran. The research used descriptive qualitative which conducted in OctoberNovember 2021, The subject of the research was the students of especially 8A with 22students at MTs Muhammadiyah 3 Masaran in 2020/2021 academic year. The researcherused observation, interview and questionnaie with teacher and students’ to collect thedata. The researcher used data triangulation to analyze data of observation, interview andquestionnaire the researcher used the table questionnaire and share via whatsapp. Theresults of the research on student learning motivation consisted of intrinsic and extrinsicfactors by knowing the character of students to increased motivation and interested inlearning, giving a positive response to learning English used digital media during theCovid-19 pandemic, could foster students' independent learning attitudes. Teachers andschools could provide good motivation to students in the right way, such as prepared anddesigning teaching materials according to the needs, competencies of students, providingfacilities and infrastructure. Peran Guru dalam Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Siswa

The role of teachers in increasing student learning motivation is one of the integral activities that must exist in learning activities. In addition to providing and transferring knowledge, teachers are also tasked with increasing children's motivation in learning. It is undeniable that student learning is very different from other people's, therefore it is important for teachers to always motivate students so that students always have a spirit of learning and are able to become outstanding students and can develop themselves optimally. The learning process will be successful if students are motivated to learn. Therefore, teachers need to grow students' learning motivation optimally. Teachers are required to be creative to motivate students to learn. Learning motivation is the meaning, value, and learning benefits of learning activities that are quite interesting for students to carry out learning activities.

Pengaruh Layanan Informasi terhadap Motivasi Belajar Siswa MAN 3 Medan

This research aims to examine the influence of information services on student learning motivation at MAN 3 Medan. The research background highlights the importance of guidance and counseling services that help students understand their strengths and weaknesses and accept themselves positively, which is the basis for self-development. The main focus of this research is information services in guidance and counseling, which aims to equip students with knowledge about education, work and personal social development. These services are designed to help students plan and organize their lives more effectively. Learning motivation, which is a driving force from within and outside students to achieve learning goals, is a key aspect in this research. This type of research is Quasi Experiment research with a quantitative type approach. The research results show that the information services provided by guidance and counseling teachers at MAN 3 Medan, in accordance with the service implementation plan, have a positive impact on increasing student learning motivation. Counseling teachers play an important role in supporting and increasing learning motivation through information services, which have proven effective in helping students achieve their academic goals. This research confirms that good information services can significantly increase student learning motivation.

Cyberbullying Menurunkan Dua Kali Motivasi Belajar Siswa

Motivation to learn is a critical factor for achieving academic success. Low motivation can lead to serious issues such as school dropout and involvement in criminal activities. This study aims to explore the factors that influence student learning motivation. A cross-sectional design was employed, involving 198 junior and senior high school students selected through convenience sampling. The study was conducted in April and May 2024. Data were collected via questionnaires distributed through the g-form platform and shared via social media. Bivariate analysis was performed using chi-square and t-tests. Meanwhile a multivariable logistic regression was used to examine the association of cyberbullying and other factors to learning motivation. Results indicated that cyberbullying (p = 0.013), school bullying (p = 0.032), and school type (p = 0.041) significantly influenced student learning motivation (p 0.05). Our multivariate analysis revealed that incidents of cyberbullying were the most influential factor, reducing student learning motivation by a factor of two (AOR = 2.10; 95% CI = 1.16-3.82). These findings highlight the need for preventive efforts against cyberbullying through educational programs and campaigns promoting the responsible use of digital devices, as well as increased parental supervision.

Pengaruh Fasilitas Belajar dan Lingkungan Keluarga Terhadap Motivasi Belajar Sains Peserta Didik Kelas V Sekolah Dasar

This research aims to analyze the relationship betwen learning facilities and the family environment on student science learning motivation. The background to this research is based on the importance of these two factors in supporting the learning process. Adequate learning facilities, such as book, teaching aids and accsess to thecnology, are expected to increase student interest and motivation in learning science. Apart from that, a supportive family environment, such as good communication between parents and children and encouragement to learn, also contributes to student learning motivation. The data collection method used in this research in quantitative data, which allows researchers to find out how strong the relationship is between the variabels of learning facilities and family environment and learning motivation. Data was collected throught questionnaires distributed to student at school. The result of the analysis shows that there is a significant positive relationship between learning facilities and the family environment on science learning motivation, which means that the better the facilities and family support, the higher the students learning motivation. It is hoped that this reseach will provide insigh for educators and parents regarding the importance of creating a supportive learning environment to increase student learning motivation in the field of science

Exploring Students’ Perception of EFL on the Use of ChatGPT to Complete the English Writing Task

Like other AI technologies, ChatGPT is built to process questions with natural, human-like answers. Since its inception, ChatGPT has drawn a lot of pros and cons because it is widely used in the field of education and is considered to reduce the credibility of higher education. This study will describe and explore the perceptions of the use of ChatGPT by students in a descriptive quantitative manner. The participants in this study were students who attended English classes. They came from three different universities with a total of 150 respondents and a sample of 36 students. The instrument used was a questionnaire using a Likert scale. In addition, there are two additional questions to explore the reasons and suggestions of students on the use of ChatGPT. Questions are divided into three components. The first is whether ChatGPT increases students' learning motivation, the second is whether ChatGPT has features that are easy to access, and the last is whether ChatGPT can improve student performance and learning outcomes. The results of this study show that 62% of students agree that ChatGPT can increase student learning motivation because it provides insight into English Writing Skill classes. A total of 76% of students think that ChatGPT has features that are easy to use. Finally, 60% of students were able to improve student learning outcomes and performance in the English Writing Skill class.

Analysis of Student Learning Motivation for Project-Based Online Courses

This analysis aims to find out the extent to which motivation affects students in project-based online courses. Where this project-based learning was first applied to religious courses, civic education and other courses at Bina Sarana Informatics University. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires online to 100 students using the respondent achievement level analysis (TCR) research method. With the results, for online learning, 81.6% of students with the very good category can follow. For project-based learning, 78.4 – 79.8 percent are still in the good category, which means that there is still a need for improvement so that students can receive optimally.

THE USE OF CROSSWORD PUZZLE GAME MEDIA TO INCREASE STUDENT LEARNING MOTIVATION IN THE SUBJECT OF IPAS GRADE V UPTD SD NEGERI 33 PAREPARE

This research is motivated by the low learning motivation of students in grade V at UPTD SD Negeri 33 Parepare. The objective of this research is to enhance the learning process and motivation of students using crossword puzzle game media. The approach used in this research is qualitative. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects in this research amounted to 24 students consisting of 10 male students, 14 female students, and a teacher. This research was conducted in 3 cycles. Each cycle was held 1 meeting with four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection was carried out using observation, documentation, and questionnaire techniques. The data were analyzed using data condensation techniques, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This research focuses on the learning process and student learning motivation. The results of the research in cycles I and II showed that the learning process was in the category of sufficient (C) and student learning motivation was in the category of sufficient learning motivation. Meanwhile, in cycle III, the learning process was in the good (B) category, and student learning motivation was in the high learning motivation category. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of crossword puzzle game media increases the learning process and motivation of students in the IPAS subject in grade V at UPTD SD Negeri 33 Parepare.

The Effects of Teacher's Competencies in the Application of Online Teaching and Learning on Students' Academic Stress, Learning Motivation, and Academic Achievement in Statistics Subject

Online learning may lead to several problems, causing academic stress that lowers student motivation. Thus, great instructor skills are needed to overcome challenges and automatically build a successful and efficient online learning process. The study examines how teacher competencies in four dimensions – Teacher’s technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK), teacher’s belief (TB), teacher’s self-efficacy (TSE), and teacher’s enthusiasm (TE) – affect students’ academic stress in the cognitive (CD), behavioral (BD), affective (AD), and physiological domains (PD), as well as learning motivation (SLM) and academic achievement (AA). The study uses multivariate regression analysis, the ordinal logistic regression, and the Structural Equation Model (SEM). Multivariate regression analysis is utilized to examine the effects partially and simultaneously of dependent and independent variables. The ordinal logistic regression is used for the same purpose but on the data with an ordinal scale; the final grade shows the AA variable. Whereas, SEM is used to investigate the relationship between complex variables. The sample retrieval technique is conducted using non-probabilistic sampling by the method of accidental sampling with 219 college students. Results show that TPACK, which is one dimension of a teacher’s competencies, negatively affects students’ academic stress, which is BD, AD, and PD. However, TPACK does not significantly affect CD. Adverse effects suggest increasing teacher’s competencies in integrating technology and pedagogies in the development of educational content, especially in online learning, and reducing or minimizing students’ academic stress. Besides that, TPACK also has a positive effect on SLM, and SLM in turn positively affects AA. On the other hand, the variable component of teachers’ competencies, such as TSE and TE, has a positive effect on CD. Likewise, CD positively affects AA, so indirectly, TSE and TE positively affect AA. Of every effect and relationship between independent and dependent variables studied, the variable to contribute most effectively to online learning is the TPACK variable. The Role of Religious Teachers in Increasing the Motivation of Students in Grade VII Catholic Religious Education and Budi Pekerti Subjects at Tri Sakti-1 Medan Junior High School

This study aims to determine the learning motivation of seventh grade students in the subject of Catholic Religious Education (PAK) and Budi Pekerti at Tri Sakti-1 Medan Catholic Junior High School, as well as the role of PAK teachers in motivating students. In this context, PAK teachers have a crucial role in improving learning motivation by providing appropriate encouragement and motivation to students. We expect this research to enhance the quality of education and boost students' learning motivation in schools. To be role models for students, PAK teachers must act as educators who not only teach religious values but also have broad insights and strong characters. The research methods used in this study are qualitative and quantitative. We used the qualitative method to delve deeper into students' perceptions and experiences of learning motivation from PAK teachers, while the quantitative method objectively measured the level of student learning motivation. We expect the results of this study to offer recommendations to PAK teachers, aimed at enhancing students' learning motivation and fostering the development of effective learning strategies at Tri Sakti-1 Medan Catholic Junior High School. Thus, this study has important implications for improving the quality of religious education and student character through the active and inspiring role of PAK teachers.

So this research aims to describe numeracy literacy skills in terms of student learning motivation. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The data collection technique used questionnaires, tests, and interviews. So the conclusion of this study is that the numeracy literacy skills of students with high learning motivation, moderate learning motivation and low learning motivation in solving problems are similar, numeracy literacy skills of students with high learning motivation and moderate learning motivation also have similarities in determining and implementing appropriate solution strategies, while literacy and numeracy skills of students with low learning motivation, in determining and implementing strategies and solutions are not appropriate

A Qualitative Study into How Non-English Major Students Emotionally Respond to Teacher-Written Feedback

Despite extant literature on the interplay between pedagogical practices and emotional impact, the emotional responses of non-English major undergraduates to teacher-written feedback in L2 writing classrooms remain underexplored. This research, employing semi-structured interviews and document analysis as primary data collection tools, aims to explore how different functions of feedback, including praise, criticism, and suggestions, evoke students’ emotions in higher education settings. The study, conducted in the context of a single university's L2 writing courses, involved 88 undergraduates for document analysis and 5 for semi-structured interviews. Findings reveal that personalized feedback significantly impacts students' self-perception, learning motivation, and engagement, underscoring the importance of empathy and clarity in feedback delivery. This paper highlights tailored feedback's crucial role in enhancing academic growth and emotional well-being, contributing to a more nuanced understanding of feedback dynamics in language education.

Analisis Gaya, Motivasi Dan Respon Siswa Dalam Pembelajaran Geografi di MA Darul Ihsan Samarinda

Learning is the core of an education has an important role in advancing the welfare and human resources, one of which is in terms of teaching and learning. The purpose of this study is to determine learning styles, student motivation and student responses in learning geography. Geography learning styles that will be the focus of researchers in this study are visual, auditorial, and kinesthetic learning styles Motivation is one of the steps or factors that can encourage students to behave using feelings and reactions in geography learning activities. The results of research on class X students consisting of 34 female students, class XI consisting of 26 female students and class XII consisting of 35 male students at MA Darul Ihsan Samarinda. Based on the results of the study, the majority of learning styles owned by class X students are visual as many as 34 students, then class XI students are mostly kinesthetic as many as 26 students, as well as class XII the majority of kinesthetic learning styles as many as 35 students Each class has a different learning style and has each learning style. Every student basically has motivation in themselves, be it external or internal motivation. The sample in this study was class X consisting of 34 female students, XI IPS1 consisting of 26 female students, XII IPS2 consisting of 35 male students at MA Darul Ihsan Samarinda. The sample technique used is Random Sampling. Based on the results of data recap that has been done on the student learning motivation questionnaire has motivation in the good category, from these results it can be said that 34 students have good motivation, then in the category as many as 26 students have a category Less, then as many as 35 students have a good category. Based on data analysis that has been carried out on student learning responses in classes X and XI, it is found that student learning responses are in the good category with a total of 60 students or equivalent to 64%. Then in the very good category with 35 students or equivalent to 65%. The high learning response can be seen from the various indicators that have been analyzed.

Standard Classroom Capacity: Effective of Learning Activities in Malaysian Primary School Buildings

The teaching and learning process needs to be carried out formally in the classroom, which is the main learning space in the school system. This should be implemented effectively to achieve a level of comfort for students. The capacity of a classroom can affect the way the teacher teaches and the level of student understanding. Classroom capacity needs to be emphasized to encourage and maintain student motivation for continuous learning, especially at the primary school level. This study aims to analyse classroom capacity in order to improve student comfort in the primary school building and thus enhance the effectiveness of learning. The qualitative method used for conducting the study is the method used in this research to measure the predicted findings. The present area of 15 randomly chosen classrooms was measured (Width X Length) using a qualitative method that also included semi-structured interviews. The findings of the study show that 50 percent of classroom capacity in primary school buildings comply with existing guidelines, established design rules and classroom area requirements. The current classroom size is 2.25 m2 per student with a significant increase in student satisfaction during the teaching and learning process. However, the findings from the semi-structured interviews highlight interesting points in relation to the appropriateness of classroom capacity. Teachers think that classroom capacity affects students' level of comfort. Respondents agreed that the capacity of a classroom is effective with a maximum of 26 students. This research paper emphasizes the importance of compliance with classroom physical performance standards in primary school buildings to increase the comfort level of students in the classroom. The research presented here provides current information, knowledge, and findings regarding actual classroom capacity in primary school buildings data that could have an impact on students' comfort. During the formative learning phase, very little meaningful attention is paid to the areas where students spend the majority of their weekdays. As a result, this can support experts in the fields of school building management, building facilities, and other related fields in determining and implementing the right classroom capacity in schools generally.

Effect of using gamification and augmented reality in mechanical ventilation unit of critical care nursing on nurse students' knowledge, motivation, and self-efficacy: A randomized controlled trial

BackgroundGamification and augmented reality (AR) are innovative teaching modalities. Research on the effects of combining these two strategies in nursing education is scarce. ObjectivesTo examine the effect of the combined use of gamification and AR in teaching mechanical ventilation (MV) on nurse students' knowledge, motivation, self-efficacy, and satisfaction. DesignRandomized controlled trial. SettingA conveniently selected faculty of nursing in Egypt. ParticipantsA total of 410 nurse students. MethodsParticipants were randomly assigned to the intervention or control group (205 in each). Kahoot games and AR were used in the intervention group, whereas a traditional lecture was applied in the control group. The outcomes included levels of students' knowledge, learning motivation, self-efficacy, and satisfaction. ResultsMixed design repeated-measures ANOVA test revealed a statistically significant difference in knowledge test scores within-subject over time (p-value [effect size]: <0.001 [0.515]), between-subject due to the main effect of interventions (<0.001 [0.146]), and within-between interaction effect of group and time (<0.001 [0.515]). After using Kahoot and AR, the total mean self-efficacy score was significantly higher in the intervention group than in the control group (<0.001 [0.662]). The total median motivation score was significantly higher for the Kahoot and the AR groups compared with the traditional lecture (<0.001 [0.558]). ConclusionKahoot games and AR significantly increased nurse students' knowledge, motivation, and self-efficacy compared with traditional MV learning classes. Nursing educators need to incorporate Kahoot and AR in their pedagogies to enhance nurse students' satisfaction and development.

Leaving Performance-Oriented Goal (Ranking) Based Education To Improve Student Learning Motivation

Society believes that ranking can be extrinsic motivation for students to improve learning performance, achievement, and student achievement. Ranking also makes it easier for schools to find out the quality of schools, formulate policies, and select colleges to enter. On the other hand, ranking triggers "competition" not only among students, but also between parents. The pressure that children feel to always "achieve" in this case to win in class, is also getting higher. However, reflecting on the quality of Indonesian education, the rankings did not function as expected. This can be seen from the results of the 2018 PISA test which showed Indonesia was ranked 72nd out of 77 countries. The research aims to understand the purpose and effectiveness of the learning process based on performance-oriented goals in education and to find alternative learning methods that are more effective in motivating students through learning process orientation. The method used in this research is library research, namely research carried out by reading, studying and recording various literature or reading materials that are appropriate to the subject matter. The results of the study explain that basically ranking is no longer relevant for use in schools because it will encourage performance-oriented goals in students. This condition is exacerbated by the infrastructure, facilities, and number of teaching staff that are not in line with the existing learning demands. There is a need for a system change that is more oriented towards learning-oriented goals to maximize the learning process and revive students' interest in learning.
